Oh - congrats Scampmum! xxx

Hope all are well.

Well done on BF-ing Scorpio

Taking DD1 to have her pre-school booster injection this morning, then at least I have her all sorted before Olivia starts hers.

Am not so tired lately (although I don't want to tempt fate by saying too much, lol) as Olivia has seemed to settle into a nice routine. Also, I am trying to see if I can get her into a 3 hour(ish) feeding routine during the day - rather than her snacking as and when ... oh how her lungs are getting a work out!!!

northeastmummy · 21/04/2008 10:10

Wow scorpio - that's great that breastfeeding is going so well for you! I hope I feel like that about it when the time comes.

Peachy - is that from scamp?

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 21/04/2008 11:15

Yay for Scampmum!! Congratulations and such a pretty name!

Good going Scorpio - hope BFing goes as well for me...

Miolly - did you get a pump? Everything okay now?

Carey87 · 21/04/2008 11:49

We are quiet on this thread now arent we

Well first due date (17th) been and gone, next one is 23rd. I ate a whole pineapple yesterday, had sex twice and did all of the house cleaning and not even a single twinge!!! I am so fed up! Really really really do NOT wnat to go overdue but no doubt I will!

Really glad that your doing so well with the BFing scorpio

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 21/04/2008 11:58

I was actually wondering about you Carey - thought maybe you had baby already! BTW - with regards to pineapple - I heard that the most important part to eat is the core.

I have a feeling my little baby Roo will come some time this week. I am SOOOOO weepy at the moment - everything sets me off!

Scampmum · 21/04/2008 12:12

hello all! after coming home thoroughly despondent last night, went to bed about 10.15, woke up at 4.05 thinking 'hmm, that's a bit more painful', came downstairs, went on a hilarious cleaning spree whilst timing contractions, woke dh at 5, asking him to watch me have one and see if he thought I was in labour, got in car, ctx slowed down so only had one en route (thank god for TENS), another in car park. Got in and luckily almost straight into ward (5.40). Urge to push, waters burst everywhere, three pushes later and my little girl was born! she is SO gorgeous, looks eerily like a bigger ginger version of her sis! so kind of a quick labour after all! more later when have two hands, thanks so much to you all! xx

ps home just after 10! dd1 (!) very happy

congrats to all new mums, scorpio WELL DONE!

Carey87 · 21/04/2008 12:13

nope still here

well ive got one more in the fridge, so will make sure i eat the core today. anything to make this little one come!!!

I was like that last night, I cried when I dropped my fork on the floor

Cx

Carey87 · 21/04/2008 12:15

Congrats scampmum!!!!

Denny185 · 21/04/2008 12:24

Mmmmm and the cor is the tastiest bit isnt it

Congratulations scamp and babywhiting another couple of girls to even it up.

Went to a friends for coffee this am and DD2 behaved really well didnt wake up screaming and didnt mess with her feed for once so boob exposure was kept to a minimum. DS also did well not running out the room every 5 mins - she has no stair gates (ive no idea how she manages Id never be able to sit down) and coming back in when other kids were going out. Starting to feel a bit more OK about DH going back to work.

TLSM · 21/04/2008 12:25

Congrats Scorpio well done on the BF and Scampmum sounds like you have had a mad weekend but at least she is here at last!

Well I have been in hospital since Friday came out this morning I really really would recommend NO ONE TOUCH CASTOR OIL!!!! I only took the recommened dose and oh my god did it make me ill i have been on a drip for three days with D&V (didnt tell the hospital what I had done feel like a right pratt anyway i was dehydrated and had ketones in my urine! but they did do a sweep on me this morning and have had a big show so hopfully not too long - although I am doing nothing to bring him on anymore as decided its not worth it I will have in a few weeks whatever!

Cary M2b2 I know how you feel its kind of hormonal isnt it? Cary do you have a Tescos near you as you can get the baby pineapple there and the core is soft and eaay to eat its horrid in a big one!

Carey87 · 21/04/2008 12:32

do have a tescos yeah, DP got two of teh biggest ones he could fine bless him going to eat the otehr one now and then get him to go and get some baby ones tonight. I had heard though that it can take up to 7 pineapples bfore anything starts

Also going to try nipple stimulation later as a friend said that she only did 3 lots of 10 mins a couple of hours apart and she went into labour.

EPO? Ive got some 1000mg capsules, can I take them with RL tablets too?

Cx

Annieroo · 21/04/2008 12:37

hello everyone,

congratulations to everyone who's had their LOs. Today is my due date and my midwife came to do a sweep this morning, but couldn't as my cervix is posterior am now munching on pinneapple and sipping raspberry leaf tea after a good walk around town - hopefully one of these things is going to work

VictorianSqualor · 21/04/2008 12:40

Oh TLSM, you poor thing. I do know how you're feeling though, I was desperate to get Alex out (though now I miss being pregnant ).
How much castor oil did you take?

Scorpio!YES!YES!YES!FUCKING YES!I am soooooo pleased for you!!!I actually got a tear in my eye when I read that

I feel a bit more like my old self today, DP is at work, DD at school so it's just me and DS1&2. I've finally managed to get my house back to how it shoudl be, DP has tried but it just wasn't how I like it iyswim.

As for Alex, well he's just ike his brother was, he never really cries, feeds well, and is quite happy to just sit in his seat looking around. He slept for a good few hours last night, waking up a few times just to snuffle and gurgle at me and then going back to sleep. He has a 'tetchy time' though, about 1:30am every morning he cries, and won't calm down enough to latch on whilst laying down so I have to sit up and feed him but apart from that I hardly know he is here. Fingers crossed it stays that way, it did with Bobby but it could all change!

Denny185 · 21/04/2008 12:41

Carey not sure how true it is but had heard you can use a breast pump for nipple stimulation aswell.

VictorianSqualor · 21/04/2008 12:41

Annieroo, try the evening primrose oil.
It's great for ripening the cervix.

Denny185 · 21/04/2008 12:44

VS, you miss being pregnant, already
Hope he carries on this way for you, I had forgotten the noises made by LO's - somewhat pig like at the moment, DD2 has been better at night, starting to learn that day is day and night is night - hoping/fingers crossed that it continues.

Annieroo · 21/04/2008 12:46

thanks for that VS, i will pop out and get some in a bit - do you just put a few drops in or bath in it?

I don't know about anyone else who is near/over their due date, but am getting very with all the phone calls - i swear i'm going to snap in a minute! Do my family think i'm really going to have this baby and not tell them! come to think of it that is sounding like a good idea!

VictorianSqualor · 21/04/2008 12:46

Ha, I know, I must be mad. I was holding DS last night and said to DP, 'I can't not have anymore you know, we are going to have at least one more child' he just sighed

VictorianSqualor · 21/04/2008 12:49

Annieroo, get the capsules, make sure they are without vitamin A, they should just be vitamin E.
You take two 500 capsules once/twice a day and can also insert them up there before you go to bed.
My cervix was perfectly ripe after about three days of doing it, I just didnt dilate.

Annieroo · 21/04/2008 13:00

it does say on my notes that it's beginning to efface and soft, so it's going in the right direction, just taking a while!
