Hi Marette. My due date is now def. 3/9/-5. And then my dd will be almost 2yrs 2months.
Thanks

pooka · 15/01/2005 12:11

Sorry - Maretta rather than Marette

maretta · 15/01/2005 19:23

I've just had a call from my very odd community midwife. She wants to come round tomorrow and so my wee and take my blood pressure.

Do you think it would be a good time to start asking about home births.

maretta · 15/01/2005 19:25

Sorry Pooka - I've not done the list again. I'll wait and see if there are any further changes.

pooka · 15/01/2005 20:24

Blimey Maretta, what first class service. No crowded GP's office for you!
I think that you should mention home birth as soon as you like. I should imagine that when I have my formal booking in appointment, whenever that may be, I will mention it. Already raised concerns about tearing again to my GP!
I'm sure we'll be joined by more posters soon, so the list will expand, just like us!

YummyMummy2 · 15/01/2005 20:47

Can I join in please? Found out on Wednesday that I am pregnant again - was definitely a surprise as we weren't planning any more children just yet but got a bit carried away around Christmas

DS is nearly 14 months so will be 22 months when new one is born (think due date is about 22nd September). Have been feeling sick - hopefully won't be getting the same amount of morning sickness I had with DS.

yingers74 · 15/01/2005 22:22

Just put in my due date!

I went to see nurse yesterday, got a positive result this time, thank goodness. Got a GP appt for 27 Jan (the first one available) so reckon I'll be pushing my luck to get a scan date/booking in appointment by wk 13! BTW, last time I opted for hospital appts, as hospital was more convenient for work. But this time around, I'm working from home. But the new nurse isn't trained in ante natal care so my surgery doesn't offer shared care--does this mean I'll be forced to schlepp up to the hospital for all my appts?

Decaf - I have a friend that had her booking in appointment at 17 weeks, although had seen GP before then and had her Kings nuchal scan at 13 weeks. Just the way her surgery works.
I'm hoping mine will be different as my surgery operates community midwife service, where there are 6 midwifes, you meet each one during the course of your ante-natal appointments, and then two of them deliver the baby, rather than using the hospital-based ones. And they're fab.
Sounds like you may have to schlep to the hospital, what a pain

Welcome yummymummy!

I've updated the list to show dd's age when sibling born - quite right, no need to continually update.

I've actually been feeling rather rough in the early evening - just when I'm making supper I feel very queasy, which is completely different to last time. Not sure whether to be reassured or concerned. But that's typical of me throughout pregnancy IIRC, one large bundle of neuroses and anxiety until after 26 weeks.

DecafArabica · 16/01/2005 11:22

Wow, wish we had community midwives, that sounds fantastic. If only I'd thought about that when I joined the surgery!

pooka · 16/01/2005 14:47

I know - it's great. Although there was a mix-up when I went into hospital (hospital's fault) and they didn't contact my midwives. Great idea in principle, and I guess if I have a home birth, they'd have no way of getting out of it!

maretta · 16/01/2005 17:30

Just seen the midwife and it's all gone well.

She said that she'd have suggested me as a home birth candidate anyway as last time I had quick and easy labour. I'd have to go into labour between 38 and max nine days past my due date. Apparantly they bring a sealed pack to your house at 38 weeks with everything that I'd need and on the day they'd bring a tens machine so I wouldn't need to rent one.

She also said with my dates that they'd only adjust my due date if my scan results put me due more than 10 days either side of 16th Sept. Apparantly that's to prevent confusion over dates?!?

Really excited about it but it's early days and need to keep a lid on it.

PicadillyCircus · 16/01/2005 20:16

Was trying out a different name last night but prefer my old one so am keeping it. Will update the list accordingly!

Have been having nausea feelings on and off during the day - not good but OK.

Hope everyone else is feeling all right

Sallie · 17/01/2005 09:26

Good Monday morning everyone. Thanks for all the update lists. Our list of names is growing which is lovely. I have my gp appointment tomorrow afternoon to 'go official' and get the paperwork sorted for registering with the midwives and getting the nuchal scan sorted. I am hoping for the same team of midwives this time as in my previous 2 pregnancies - had domino care which suited me and had both babes at Chelsea & Westminster. Was very happy with the care I received both antenatally and post-natally and in hospital (didn't stay overnight either time).

Sallie · 17/01/2005 12:40

Pooka - your system of antenatal care sounds similar to mine. Its great although neither of my babies were delivered by members of my midwife team. Having said that, the hospital midwives who cared for me were fab so no complaints at all.

Sallie · 17/01/2005 16:27

Quiet again here today - am I missing something again?!!![smile}
Nearly at the end of Monday now - hurrah! Hope all is well with everyone. Can't wait for my doctor's appointment tomorrow - silly but true!

maretta · 17/01/2005 19:24

Hi Sallie. It is a bit quiet.

Is your doctor's appointment just to tell them that your pregnant.

I've felt quite sick today and my vision went really blurry when I got up too quick to answer the phone. I was worried that it would wake ds so I got up really quickly but it's nice to have little reminders that things are going OK in there!
I'm very disappointed with my breasts though. Last time I got an istant boob job, this time they seem to be taking their time to react.

I've been a complete big gob today, told some people from my last ante-natal group. Hope I don't regret it. There were 4 of us at my house today and were all pregnant, due last week, march, august and me in September.

Hello to Picadilly Circus. Pleased you've come to join us.

franch · 17/01/2005 19:35

I relate Maretta - our old antenatal group (from DD) is meeting this week and I can't decide whether to tell them or not .... that's if I make it - spent most of today vomiting If I don't tell them I'll have to lie to explain the sickness, which I don't fancy doing. I just like telling people, anyway! But I know what you mean, it's such early days .....

PicadillyCircus · 17/01/2005 19:46

It has been quiet on here - I was actually doing some work today instaead of spending all my time on Mumsnet . But will probably make up for that in the future.
