Are we almost going to have to start a new thread again?

Carey87 · 08/04/2008 16:33

oops, thank you very much PAL XX

Nope, I don't have to see anyone, can just chill and go in next week.
I already have all the consent forms and tablets etc as I was meant to be in tomorrow and they said just to do what I would've done tonight next week.

SuzeM · 08/04/2008 16:38

Micegg, I forgot to say congratulations to you.

That's great you have a bit more time now VS.

Soph, that is very little weight gain either way! I have put on 28lb but only on bump (I think). I am usually size 12 and 5'9 but can't imagine what shape I'll be in afterwards.

Carey87 · 08/04/2008 16:43

ooo forgot to mention that my cat was being very strange this morning! while i was rolling around on my ball (on my knees, resting on the ball) my cat jumped on my back and stayed there for about 10 mins, she keeps coming in and out of the house and meows hosterically, and now she wont leave me alone

SuzeM - I know, I think they´ve both got it wrong. Although everyone´s saying how little weight I´ve gained this time round. With DS1 I gained about 16kg, which I think is nearly 3 stone. I was quite hefty when I fell pregnant this time though

Soph73 · 08/04/2008 16:46

Carey - our cat did that when I was expecting DS1, they seem to sense something´s going to happen.
Nearly home time - yippee. See you tomorrow

ToastAddict · 08/04/2008 16:57

Great news VS, lets hope things kick off before then

Urghhh, I've just had a nap and now I feel so groggy I'm wondering if it was worth it

Can I ask a newbie question? Bought my bottle of olive oil this morning for the baby (cradle cap? Dry skin? Can't actually remember why I have it ). Anyway, I have also not bought any soap, lotion etc as "plain water is all that is needed", to quote the mantra . But how can olive oil be washed off with just water? I have visions of oil-slick baby....

bunyanvillas · 08/04/2008 17:01

You don't really need to wash the olive oil off - it serves to moisten the skin so just pat a little bit on, don't need to use loads. Gosh, I'd forgotten how much newborns sleep! DS has been asleep most of the day so I think I may be in for another all-nighter ...

VictorianSqualor · 08/04/2008 17:03

Olive oil is great for baby massage and if you use it then it just soaks into the skin.

bunnyrabbit · 08/04/2008 17:10

Sorry was gonig to read thread and catch up but as my waters have just gone everywhere, I'm alittle bit preoccupied.
Has PFJ checked in yet?

BR

VictorianSqualor · 08/04/2008 17:12

BR!
Good luck!

PortAndLemon · 08/04/2008 17:14

Good luck br; shouldn't be long now!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 08/04/2008 17:14

That's great news for you VS - fingers crossed for you now!

Carey - you read my mind! I was also going to ask for the link for that again!

Molly - another cute bump! You ladies all have lovely bumps! Will get DH to take a pic in the next few days and I will post it!

Phew - went into London today to meet with my sister at Southbank. 1st time since I left work. Lovely to see sister but made me realise I do not miss the trains! On the train ride there it was packed and I was sitting next to this old man who farted the whole way there! [barf emoticon]

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 08/04/2008 17:16

Oooh how exciting BR!! Good luck!

And to my knowledge PFJ has not checked in.

ToastAddict · 08/04/2008 17:17

Yay BR!!!! Go Girl!!

velbels · 08/04/2008 17:19

Oh how exciting another baby as step closer. hope it goes well BR

Nothing much happening here, except having put on more weight! I have now put on 2 1/2 stone, but reassuring to hear i am not alone i just cant stop eating atm!!

Saw the midwife today cervix has softened and opened at the front. she is happy to see me friday and tuesday if i want so that she can do a sweep as soon as poss!!! She seems to be pleased to help me have a home birth if at all poss

northeastmummy · 08/04/2008 17:26

Oooooo - good luck BR! And Carey, just before PFJ disappeared she said her cats were acting strange with her too ... they definitely seem to know!

Bunyanvillas and Denny - gorgeous babies all round . As much as I'm not in a hurry for DD2 to come along, I still can't wait to SEE her!!

Mollyfloss · 08/04/2008 17:34

BR: Good luck. Vs: Great news, hope things get started before next week!

Back from the pool. Was lovely. Have to drag myself there time but I feel very good afterwards. And to make myself feel even better I stopped in Starbucks on the way back to have a piece of carrott passion cake and a hot milk with vanilla

I'm jealous iof those of you who have only put on between 10 and 20lbs! I've put on 37!

Scampmum: Nice that your legs and bum were skinnier after pg. I knew someone who had a 'bit extra' before pg and turned into a right skinnie minnie straight after. Twas very strange, as if the pg changed her whole physique. Like you said though, we won't have enough time to brush our hair let alone worry about weight!

If anyone wants to see a funny cute pg film, watch 'knocked up'.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 08/04/2008 18:10

GO BR!!!

PortAndLemon · 08/04/2008 18:35

Mum2b2BabyRoo - hadn't realised you were in Cnterbury (assuming that you are, based on the fact you're going to antenatal classes there); that's where I'm from, originally (well, Barham).

moominsmummy · 08/04/2008 18:48

BR - sounds v exciting!

VS - that indigestion remedy sounds much nicer than gaviscon - must try it later

Well DH is back from his hospital appointment (and grudgingly admitting that it was right for him to go )

apparently his consultant is very excited at the possibility that I may have the baby down there - at least DH will have his own nurse to look after him so if I go into labour he can be wheeled the 300yds to the maternity unit still plugged into his drip etc

My mum has brought DH back up and immediately got stuck in helping me with my nesting! what a star - just the bathrooms and floors left to do and whole house is gleaming

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 08/04/2008 19:07

PAL - no I'm not in Canterbury - I am in Orpington. I just went to an antenatal class there as I couldn't get into one locally!

EllieG · 08/04/2008 19:23

Go BR! You win a prize for the most cool and collected I'm-about-to-pop-the-sprog post EVER - 'Oh I was going to read the thread but my waters have just broken' [impressed emoticon]

scorpio - glad you are OK lady. I am mostly very irrational at moment. Poor DP and DSD don't know whether I'll react to things by hugging them or stropping. Or a mixture of both.

I think DP is having a mini mid life crisis. He came in and announced he was feeling disheartened by his job and lack of career progression and that he was miserable about trying for other jobs and not getting them. But before I could compose suitably sympathetic reply he said 'But I 'spect I'll be fine by tomorrow, I think I'm just a bit sleepy' and that was that. Now with me, that would have spun out for at least 3 days of soul searching

moomin - what a useful Mum you have! Wish mine would do that. She said to me 'Oh I won't come and clean your house, I know how much you'd hate that' - tried to say 'Well actually Mum....' but she wasn't having any of it. Hey ho...

Good news about CS VS! Will keep all limbs crossed for you x

Carey87 · 08/04/2008 19:24

BR - good luck!!!

Mollyfloss - very of your carrott passion cake!

Is it still safe to have sex even the I've had a show?

Cx
