Divedaisy - hurrah!! All looking good now,,,,,especially as now there is a foetal pole (what a ridiculous term BTW) What is your estimated due date now???? I have just celebrated by having 2 rounds of egg and cress sarnies and a pint of OJ....pushing the boat out there!!!!

Let's all hang on in there.........

Love and Hugs to everyone

Oblomov · 31/03/2008 13:38

Good news for all scanners then.
I had my scan and things are still fine, but then I knew/hoped that, becasue of the unexpected scan I had done on thursday.
Ahhhh. Big sigh of relief , all round.

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 13:41

Excellent new Ob...

Divedaisy, so this is good news! So give PEA another few days and he/she will have a heartbeat. All my thoughts are with you for Friday xxx Did you mean yours measured 7.4mm? That was the same as mine... can't have anything

mad4mybaby · 31/03/2008 13:43

whats a foetal pole??

What excersise are any of you doing? I have been doing pilates since jan and this morning was first class since i knew i was pg (last mon bank hol) and told instructor so no probs but it made me feel really sick! Had to keep stopping! Any body else had this? Should i just get on with it or stop a for a few weeks or what?? Only just easing off now

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 13:44

OOh Doctorswife, when I wake in the night I often feel a bit icky and always need a wee. So nausea can be here one day and not the next and that is ok. phewwww.....

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 13:45

MAD.. i believe the foetal pole with the bit that develops into the heart.. (CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG)..

I have just been walking round the block in the mornings as haven't really fancied doing much else exercise wise. Will pick it up a little after 12 weeks.

dozymare · 31/03/2008 13:57

Yes I think that the foetal pole develops into the heartbeat but can't be 100% sure....just so relieved that all 3 of us had good scans!!!

AS for excercise I just lower the intensisty of what I do...no body combat or high impact......in fact, if the truth be known since I found out I was PG the only excercise I have been doing is opening the fridge door!!!!

bubbaz · 31/03/2008 14:01

Haha! I am with you dozy, only opening the fridge

Congrats to all scans, yeah for heartbeats and foetal poles.

I am off to make it official, at 3pm. I am going to tell the doc my news and demand that she does not laugh me off if I tell her I am not coping with MS this time round, like she did last time I then spent 2 weeks telling myself I was a wimp and that all women dealt with this and that I should toughen up, ended up dehydrated, hardly able to string a sentence together and on a drip. Silly doctor (putting it mildly!)

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 14:10

Good luck T Fairy. Is it bad that my ms just isn't that bad????????? I am worried. One day it can be quite strong in the morning and another it is fine (like today).

twinklingfairy · 31/03/2008 14:29

No not bad at all. Long may it continue.
Mine is not bad either. I just don't want to be left struggling again if it does get bad.

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 14:33

Mine was worse couple of weeks ago, I suppose that is what worries me.

dozymare · 31/03/2008 14:55

Pinkali - don't worry totally normal to have ms in waves.....my Mum has a theory....very bad MS indicates a boy as your body is not used to male hormones........had it with both DS and hardly any with this PG.......so would be interested to see if you and I have girls!!! Although I have applied my mums theory to friends and it doesn't hold true...I think that is her wishing/hoping/praying that she finally get's a granddaughter!!!

DrsWife - that was a bit graphic, wasn't it??!! I suppose I was so worried I didn't care at the time how it sounded! Hope it didn't cause anyone to throw up or be put off lunch!

Dozy -I don't know yet my EDD - I wasn't told. I suppose until there is a heartbeat it isn't yet viable. Hopefully on Friday I'll get that news.

Yes Pinkali 7.4mm. Amazing how fast they grow. 10 days ago it was 1.4 and I was worries it wouldn't grow to the size you were - remember I commented about it? But there you go, I caught up!!!

I'll have a wee read here and see who is 6+3/4 and I'll ammend my EDD...this will be interesting.

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 15:23

Pinkali37 and Dozymare, and all the rest of us who are interested, I found out what the foetal pole is on this website:www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/earlyfetaldevelopment.htmThe fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. This pole structure actually has some curve to it with the embryo?s head at one end and what looks like a tail at the other end. The fetal pole now allows for crown to rump measurements (CRL) to be taken, so that pregnancy dating can be a bit more accurate. The fetal pole may be seen at a crown-rump length (CRL) of 2-4mm, and the heartbeat may be seen as a regular flutter when the CRL has reached 5mm.

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 15:25

So the foetal pole is more than just the heartbeat - it is the 'tadpole' that developes into our wee ones. The website above is interesting and gives a week by week explaination about what's happening.

cricri · 31/03/2008 15:26

Hello everybody,
Great news for those who had scans today Hopefully you can relax a little now... Easier said than done, I know!
I had to re-schedule my NHS dating scan for the 2nd time because something has come up with work (I'm self-employed) and got told that normally they can only reschedule once and that this was absolutely the last change! I can't help it if they keep giving me inconvenient scan times and at least I'm contacting them to tell them I can't make it, rather than just not turning up like many people do! Thank goodness I've got a private scan booked at the Fetal Medicine Centre on 21 April - hopefully I'll get treated more like a human being there rather than an inconvenience. Sorry for the rant
Creena How are you doing today? Hope the pains and spotting have stopped.
Scully Sorry to hear your news Have posted for you on other threads.
My ms is also coming and going - last week was really bad but over the weekend I felt fine. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one!

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 15:28

Dozymare, not sure about the theory because my mum had sever ms with both prg and had 2 girls.

So long as it is normal for it to come in waves. Feel remarkably well today. Which stupidly worries me.

Divedaisy, ah ha, your PEA is growing that is such good news. In fact I was 6 weeks 5 days when my PEA was measured at 7.4 so at 6 wk 3 days you are going to have a big boy... hee hee..

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 15:34

OK If Hanaflower is 7 weeks tomorrow and is due on 18th Nov, and I measured approx 6+3 today; that means I'm 3 days behind her??
So I've changed my EDD to 3 days after Hanaflower.

mummyhill · 31/03/2008 16:20

Thanks for the reassurance re the doddgy tummy, not had that with my other pregnancies and was getting a bit worried.

Re morning sickness - felt travel sick with dd but wasn't sick iyswim, was sick at least once a week with ds and felt travel sick right up to the end of the second trimester. So far this time round have been sick or been dry heaving every day at all different times of the day.

Every pregnancy is different so don't worry if it isn't the same as everyone else on here or the same as your last one.

Misdee how are you? Are Peter and the girls ok?

browny · 31/03/2008 16:20

Scully, so very sorry to hear your sad news, I hope you're being look after, thinkng of you x.

I've felt so shattered and ill since the moment I woke up , is anyone else not sleeping but could happily sleep the day away on the sofa?

Divedaisy, I've said a little prayer for you, hope everything is o.k. .

It's so hard to keep up with this thread! .

mummyhill · 31/03/2008 16:21

Not able to sleep night or day atm am looking forward to dd going back to school and ds back to nursery so I can get my feet up for a bit.

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 16:24

By 3pm I am ready for my bed. Don't really sleep all the way through the night either because i'm up and down for a wee! On Sat night because the clcoks were going forward I used it as a good excuse to go to bed an hour earlier so I didn't miss out on that hour. I thought that was an ingenious excuse.

I thought i had caught something awful re my runny tummy. Just something else to add to the list. I haven't felt right since i found out I was pregnant don't think chest infection and temperature helped matters though

mad4mybaby · 31/03/2008 16:37

with me im now finding im getting 'motion sickness'. If i do anything other than a slow slow walk it now makes me feel sick. Driving - sick, going upstairs - sick, rolling round floor with 21 month old - sick...

Im dreading getting to 7-8 weeks as that is when with ds it started really bad for me non stop until 29 weeks....

I dont remember feeling sick at all before that though with ds. Can that mean anything do you think? Or am i living in hope that the sickness wont go like last time?!
