so Oblomov - are you chilled out too? You see, I just don't think there is any hope for me!

twinklingfairy · 30/03/2008 22:51

Exactly oblomov! scary isn't it?
Can you disprove the laid back pregnancy/mummy theory?

twinklingfairy · 30/03/2008 22:57

I was told that I should have a c-section with 2nd, but I totally disagree and am looking forward to speaking to a 'madwife' (teehee) so that I can get them to agree with me.
The thought of a c-section and the recovery frightens me far more than going through labour again.
All I had was shakey legs cos I mainly laboured squatting and, of course, the piles, yeurch. All easy dealt with, but a great big sliced up belly, no no.

mummyhill · 30/03/2008 23:25

Not at all planned or expected but now I have my head round it yeah I'm ok about it all.

I am fairly laid back and had trouble free pregnancies with the other two. First labor was a bit of a marathon with all the pain relief possible, second was a blur as it happened really quick and only had time for gas and air. DD is a good sleeper and always has been ds is a chronic sleeper hopefully we get another good sleeper this time or I may jump off a bridge.

Only thing I am worried about is that I tend to suffer from PND part of our decision to stick at 2. Was still on AD's till this week and have had to wean off fairly quick. I have told my mental health team, hv and homestart what is happening and they will be monitoring me closely.

scully · 31/03/2008 03:18

Hi everyone, I have been avoiding this thread for the past few weeks, until I knew exactly what was happening with me. My hcg levels weren't increasing as they should have been and the first scan on 15/3 dated me earlier than my dates, but couldn't confirm much else. I had a 2nd scan last Thurs which has confirmed that the pregnancy isn't viable & that I will miscarry sometime in the next couple of weeks. Have had a weekend of more worry as they were concerned it was ectopic due my hcg levels still rising, but I'm back from the hospital today and my levels are finally reducing slowly. I go back for another blood test on Thurs and another consultant appt on Fri and I can decided then if I want an erpc if I am happy to continue waiting, if nothing has happened naturally by then.
I actually don't feel too bad, emotionally, after the first scan we were very sad that it happened for a 2nd time, but more waiting in the past couple of weeks has helped us come to terms with it all & we're keen to try again soon, rather than waiting 3-4mths like we did last time.
Could someone please take me off the list, when it is next updated.
Good luck to you all, and I hope all your pregnancies progress trouble free

Oblomov · 31/03/2008 06:57

So sorry Scully . Have posted on your other thread aswell.

dozymare · 31/03/2008 07:10

Oh Scully, I am so sorry to hear your news. It it a horrible thing to go through (I have) but you seem quite positive and upbeat which is of course the way to TRY and be. I still have my dark moments but the decision to try soon after was definately the best. I decided to let things take course naturally, but ended up getting a D + C as wasn't complete. With hindsight, I would go for the D+C as it is complete and over straight away. However, it is not an easy decision to make. I am thinking of you...xxxxx

I have my dating scan today and am very very nervous indeed due to previous MC. Also don't "feel" very pregnant.....(My DH says that is psychopsymatic) though.....will let you know how I get on........

Good luck to other appointments today......

DM x

mummyhill · 31/03/2008 07:15

Hugs to you Scully. From my own experiences it is a horrible thing to go through especially the waiting round. Be gentle with yourself and take care.

ceebee74 · 31/03/2008 07:44

Welcome Sara and Mummyhill

Scully ? for you. Have no advice as I have not been in that situation but sending you {{{hugs}}} and I am sure you will decide what is the right thing to do for you.

Laid-back mummy/baby theory ? well I am a very laid-back kind of person but DS is what was described as a ?monkey? baby on another thread ? i.e. a baby who is VERY active, never sits still (unless we are reading him a book), moves from one toy to another constantly so I guess that kind of disproves it ? however, DS has always been a fantastic sleeper (slept through from about 5 weeks) and has pretty much continued like that ever since so I am thinking that kind of reflects my laidbackness and the also the fact that I love my sleep too

Have got my parents coming round today and then I am supposed to be meeting some friends for tea but I don?t know if I have the energy for that (particularly as I will have to take DS with me as DH is away ? and as described above, he will not sit still and don?t know if I can be bothered chasing him constantly round the restaurant!).

Have to say, I PMSL at ?madwife? ? I think that is what we should all call them from now on

Good luck to all those having scans today

x

Morning All,

I only really get on the site Mon-Wed so by the next Mon there is soooo much to read. Firstly, Scully I am so very sorry for your loss It is heartbreaking to hear such news and I really do wish you the best of luck for the future.

Divedaisy and all who are having scans today or this week, a really big GOOD LUCK and let us know how it goes.

Re Acne (read it earlier i'm sure), I never suffered with it until I had my first operation for Endometriosis. Following that I broke out in the most awful spots which I thought were hormone related but after kicking up a fuss at doctors and taking photographs in he referred me to a consultant who knew I was TTC so put me on Erythromycin which is an antiobiotic. He said it can take up to 3 years to work but after 3 months I started to see a difference! i have now been on it 1 1/2 years. Acne was a big shock to me as I had never suffered from it before, it made me so unhappy.

Now i need your help... MS/Nausea, can it come and go? Some days I have it in the morning, other days at night... some days worse than others... help is this normal?

mad4mybaby · 31/03/2008 09:29

morning guys. Pink, i tried that antibiotic but had a reaction so cant take it! With regard to MS, for me it comes and goes. Im not (YET) suffering too bad but with ds i was awful from week 7-8ish. I get waves of feeling sick. Sometimes goes on its own, sometimes its because i need to eat.

Good luck for everyones appts.

misdee · 31/03/2008 09:33

morning, i feel rough as anything. cant face the day

LaidbackinEngland · 31/03/2008 09:35

Might be joining you later as I have just realised my AF is 23 days late . If so will be DC4 and I would be due mid November .There may be another explanation by as DH pointed out I am not stressed, training excessively or very thin !! . Must head to the shops to buy a test.....

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 09:38

Good luck Laid....

I was getting worried re ms/nausea as my sister seems to have it constantly and mine comes and goes. On morning I can wake up feeling sick and another fine but then it develops throughout the day. So that is ok then? My food adversion is still here. Can't stand the thought of pizza dough.. weird i know. But doesn't help the fact i have put some flour etc.. into bread machine and I can currently smell it coming up the stairs. YUK

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 10:48

I'm just popping in quickly to say I'll be leaving in 15 mins to go and get this scan done. I don't realy know if I feel preg any more or whether it's all just nerves! Boobs are a bit sore, and I feel sick (nerves). Tummy cramping still and there still is brown gunk lurking in my vag, but not quite making it to my pad.sorry tmi - but at this point I don't care..

OK I'll let you know how I get on. for any of you that have any faith - please say a prayer for me. Ta xx

Sorry Scully x

Thinking of you Oblomov this morning.xx

Pinkali37 · 31/03/2008 10:59

Divedaisy - I wish you luck and I will pray for you. x

Has anyone had a poorly tummy whilst pregnant? I started with a runny tummy yesterday (which didn't help ms) and I am just wanting to make sure it can be ok. It isn't seriously bad or anything but not very pleasant. We have 7 toilets in our house but there was someone in every single one of them (cleaner in one, employees near 2 and someone doing one of the bathrooms) so I just had to sneak to our guest bedroom.. ... YIKES>... Don't actually have ms at the moment so that's worrying me.

Hanaflower, Yep nice! I thought pregnancy was supposed to have the opposite effect (Which actually did happen at the beginning). I wasn't sure if i had contracted something because I feed my chickens, ducks, cats and dogs?

How far are you?

pinkali ive had funny tummy since 5 weeks and im 8 weeks today. Eased of now but i think it may be the iron supplements in pregnancare firming things up

i too have constant nausea but comes and goes. has anyone else had nausea in the night, i keep waking up in coldsweats as i feel so sick. It makes me have really vivid dreams almost like feverish, wake up and realise i feel sick as hell. then of course once im awake i need to wee.

scully - im so sad for your news, I'm in awe of how pragmatic and positive you are. I'd like to think I could be as rationale. Big hugs to you and DP. x

Divedaisy - had to laugh at the graphic comments about your Vag! no airs and graces on here then wishing you best of luck at your scan. x

dozymare · 31/03/2008 13:14

HI All....I had my dating scan this morning and good news.....Saw the Heartbeat of the little bean!!!!!!! I am soooo relieved and happy, as you know have not really had any PG signs at all and due to previous MC have been very worried but trying to stay positive. My DD has changed though...now the 18th November as like others who have had early scans my dates seem later....

Hope everyone else who is having scans today has the same good news....I have prayed for us all.....

DMx

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 13:19

OK Just back home from EPC. I got a vag US done and the sac is still there, but now has a foetal pole which wasn't there last time. So that is good news! Measuring 74mm, and 6+3 (or 4 - not realy sure). No heartbeat seen - which going by some of your experiences isn't really something to worry about. I'm just relieved that it's still there. I've to go back on Friday 4th, so I'll just have to wait and see.

thanks Pinkali37 - think your prayers helped.x

Tinkerisdead · 31/03/2008 13:22

ohhh good news stories, very happy for you divedaisy and dozymare x
