mad4mybaby · 08/04/2008 09:19

oh dear ob. Maybe its not related to baby at all?

mad4mybaby · 08/04/2008 09:22

what was the negative test for?

serendippity · 08/04/2008 09:26

Oblomov- i had the most awful 3 months of waterworks with dd. Almost constant cycsitis sensation, but tests always came back neg, was sooo painful. No one was ever able to tell me what it was. I hope you get some answers.
First midwifes app at 10.15! hoping she'll be able to find heartbeat, but it could be too early at 7 weeks. Fingers crossed anyway

mad4mybaby · 08/04/2008 09:30

how exciting! iv got scan at 12.20!

serendippity · 08/04/2008 09:32

ooh lovely Mad4, let us know how you get on

Pinkali37 · 08/04/2008 09:36

Ob... Fingers crossed it isn't anything. What did you doctor say?

MrsMattie · 08/04/2008 09:49

Fabulous news, Pinkali! Soooo pleasde and relieved for you.

DocsWife46 - I'm the same. Right now I can only stomach pasta (plain) pizza, potatoes and water or at a push coke. It's most unlike me - I usually love fruit & veg - but I feel so nauseous all day long and just can't face anything healthy at all

Ob - hope the tests come back OK. Could very well be cystitis or a urinary tract infection. Don't panic.

mad4mybaby - good look with scan. I've got my early scan tomorrow and am very, very nervous

On the bar issue - I must go out and buy some new bras as am bursting out of my usual underwired ones. I hate underwear shopping.

dozymare · 08/04/2008 10:01

Oblomov I am no expert but would imagine that you may have a UTI. I used to get these all the time and sometimes, an initial test would be negative then the repeat would be positive. If you have taken amoxicillin then you would expect the results to be negaitve as the infection would have cleared. Sometimes you can have slight traces of blood in your urine that does go unexplained and could well be something like cystitus (sp!) Otherwise, are you constipated??! If so and you are straining, it could be that when you wipe???

MrsMattie why are you so worried? Due to previous experiences??

mad4mybaby - Excited fore you as well! Let us know how you get on!!

DM x

Oblomov · 08/04/2008 10:10

Thanks guys.
Neg test, was just that he asked me to do a sample and he did one of those dipstick tests, and that was negative, but as I said, he did say do another and it would be sent to lab.
I am not constipated or straining.

Oblomov · 08/04/2008 10:13

I think this had all come as a bit of a shock to me, becasue my ds pregnancy was so easy. I mean easy pregnancy wise. No nauseau, no pains, no nothing. Infact I could not have been pregnant ! Until the end when I was very swollen for the last month and a half and could hardly walk.
But i was battling with diabetes BADLY thoughout all of that.
Then I mmc in Nov and it all felt wrong, form the beginning, and I had terrible pains.
And this pregnnacy has been riddled with pain and discomfort. I still feel that not all is right.

mummyhill · 08/04/2008 10:16

Seriously they should stop doing these dip stick tests for urine infections as they are notoriously inaccurate.

i know not the same but a few months ago took ds to doc as wasnt well, they suggested wee infection and dip test was neg. they said theyd sent it off to lab to cultivate
(??) and it came back showing the infec.

Q is eaely scan just like 12 week one? Im barely drinking, how on earth can i get a full bladder if i can barely drink??

Pinkali37 · 08/04/2008 11:00

Mad - Do not panic. Yesterday for my scan i had 2 glasses of water and then must have let most of it out before i got into the scan room (not involuntarily... controlled) and she said i had a lovely full bladder! When you get to 12 weeks there is so much fluid around baby it doesn't need to be as full. Trust me, i'm becoming an expert with scans. All very strange because when i have been for lots of scans with endo' I have been in so much pain with a full bladder and they then tell me it's not full enough, so preg obviously creates lots of liquid.

Thats the problem though, very often the appointments are late. I was told that if it gets to painful stage and you can control your flow of wee, you can let a little out. Yesterday I had to do this 4 times. I honestly thought there wasn't going to be enough left.

It all depends on your bladder. Mine fills up very quickly and doesn't need a lot to be full. Do a test today!

MrsMattie · 08/04/2008 11:06

dozymare - yes, had a miscarriage in October so just hoping I will see something on the screen at the scan . To be honest, I won't feel even half way towards relaxed until the 12 week scan, but that won't be until late May.

Ob - I totally relate with the 'not feeling right'. I didn't feel right before I miscarried last time, and it leaves you feeling quite uneasy in subsequent pregnancies - every symotom could be a sign that something is wrong. Seriously, though, urinary tract infections are quite common in early pregnancy (I have cystitis at the moment) and not always diagnosed straight away. You have every reason to think positively.

Oblomov · 08/04/2008 11:19

Hanaflower, have you been conspiring with dh ?
He said it was a girl a while ago, and then Dozymare started a thead about it - Predictions ( I mean at this early stage, good grief, but note that quite a few people are already predicting!!!!)
predictions

Oblomov · 08/04/2008 11:23

Thanks MrsMattie.

When I went for my second scan,(only 7 weeks , not) and phoned to tell dh that it was o.k. he said, " good, hows our girl"He is convinced, as is my bf and my friend at work. Dh very rarely predicts, but has never been wrong once. This is well wierd. Too early, but I can't stop thinking about it.
A GIRL ????????

Pinkali37 · 08/04/2008 11:51

Mrs Mattie and Ob - I too have had mc and know exactly how you both feel (and lots of others). Every little thing is a worry. I worried because I didn't feel sick anymore, and that my boobs weren't hurting anymore and that my blood count hadn't increased that much and I now say BU*GER to all those books and stories that make us feel like we have to fit into a stereostypical pregnancy and have symptoms etc at the same time as everyone else.

I got worred by my community mw opinion on my bloods and lack of symptoms. Following my 2nd early scan I am now convinced that at some point i have to think myself lucky and start enjoying this pregnancy. I know if you haven't had an early scan it will be when you have your first one but I was convinced yesterday that I wasn't pregnant anymore. All pains and aches have finished, hcg level has levelled off and boobs really don't hurt anymore. But there he was, my very own little brad bean with a strong heartbeat pumping away. I still can't believe that is inside me. All i can say is have faith. Don't follow what others say because we all are so very different plus you know where we all are for support. xxx

Thanks Pink. I am trying really hard to enjoy this pregnancy and think positive. I don't want to e worrying every minute of the day (at the moment I am still at the stage of thinking I feel something leaking and checking in the loo to see if I'm bleeding every hour or so ). You're right, of course. No pregnancy is the same, and a certain symptom/ or lack of doesn't necessarily mean anything. Tomorrow's scan will hopefully reassure me a little bit x

smilesattheweekend · 08/04/2008 12:19

Oh Pinkali!!!! - I am so glad you have posted - I felt like I have lost all symptoms over last week (8.5 wks pg) and am getting myself worried about scan tomorrow (4 prev mc's).

X

Thank you..

X Smiles

Hi Ladies,
Thanks so much for all of your support yesterday I had my scan this morning and everything seems to be fine, Bean had a very strong heartbeat and legs and arms and things. My dates seem to be bang on too!!
I am so relieved. Thanks again.
Oblomov I have a very long history of UTI and Kidney infections and docs were forever finding blood in my samples, It could just be that the infection was more severe than normal, this could also account for some of the extra pains are any of them in your back casue this could be a sign of a kidney infection??
