hello all!! How are we all today??? No idea what was worng with MN this morning, very frustrating....i ended up eating nearly a whole jar of pickled onions!! However, feel a bit rough for it now as can taste the vinegar in my mouth now....who is it that keeps eating salt and vinegar crips??!

Heartmum2Jamie · 04/04/2008 12:47

I am eating salt & vinegar crips, but all the other falvours are gone, was looking for cheese & onion. Hmmm, might have cheese & onion cob for lunch.

Sometimes I can forget I am pregnant, especially as I feel so well.

This afternoon it is my mission to try and get some seed potatoes into tubs. I am really late doing it this year but they waether has been too naff until now. Not looking too promising for the start of next week either, but they have to go out sometime.

mad4mybaby · 04/04/2008 12:56

welcome laino, what bit sounds sad??

MrsMattie · 04/04/2008 13:00

Afternoon all. Always seem to miss you when you're all here at once! Hope everyone is ok today? Divedaisy - hope your scan went well? I still don't have any morning sickness but have a vague, rumble feeling in my stomach, am constantly a bit hungry, but can't decide what I feel like and nothing tastes good or goes down well . Had my fave jacket potatoes & soured cream last night, but I could hardly taste it - like having a bad cold. Weird. Anyhoo...hope all is well, back later x

serendippity · 04/04/2008 13:20

Hello all. I am craving salt too, salted crisps especialy (they must be walkers) and bowles of green vegetables with salt and butter..hmmm

Not sure about rice and cheese tbh! But am tempted by pasta and cheese and am loving cheese sandwhiches with super fresh crusty bread.

Well i def look pg, my bump appears to be growing daily, as is my sleepiness! and I have aaages to wait till my 12 week scan. I have to call and book it on the 14th of april for the 15th of May. I'll have dd's 4th birthday around then to take my mind of it luckily.

divedaisy- Best, best of luck for today, hope it all went well x

HMTJ wow that is very cool very tempted to buy doppler from tesco but holding off as i must go and purchase materntiy clothes very soon. I was so convinced dd was gonna be an only child that i threw everything out when she was about 1 yr old!

Take care all

Emmanj · 04/04/2008 13:28

hi guys, im with you all on the salt thing, and i know this is deff not good but its McDonalds quarter pounders too!

Went to the health shop today with the aim of getting some natural organic hair colour, i mentioned Pg and they wouldnt sell it to me - i know you cant use chemical dyes but thought this natural botanic product would have been ok, aaarrggg my hair looks so vile! Any ideas anyone?

mad4mybaby · 04/04/2008 13:38

Emmanj · 04/04/2008 13:52

Tinkerisdead · 04/04/2008 13:56

Hi everyone, god without mumsnet this mrning I actually had to do chores. Now im eating salt and vinegar chipsticks hmmmm. Preparing food makes me feel sick but present it to me and I can eat it just fine! DH is now a makeshift chef.

HMTJ - listened to the heartbeat, that is fantastic.

Divedaisy - hope your scan ent okay today x

I had my booking in appointment yesterday, thank you to everyone who is experienced in the pregnancy lark and told me what tests I should ask for. The midwife was amazed when i told her i would rather have a triple test than double and would I be offered an NT scan? I wont be offered NT and so I have decided to pay for it. I also caused a big stir with DH when I said I wanted a homebirth as my preference and he wants to go private in a hospital. Felt much more in control going to the midwife armed with all the info from here so thanks ladies.

I am really tempted to have the cheese and rice for tea now!

pinkyminky · 04/04/2008 14:16

Mad4 Go get your hair done! Some people find their hair is a bit more sensitive to lightening products, but beyond that I can't see any reason why not, in fact getting your hair done is really good form you,I'm sure.

Divedaisy Hope all went well today.

HMTJ heart beat is wonderful- but I would probably get too obsessed with it if I had one.

pinkyminky · 04/04/2008 14:19

OMG I really am dizty- sorry I meant Emmanj about your hair. I blame being pregnant, but it's probably a general mental decline due to age and being SAHM.

LolaBella · 04/04/2008 14:21

Pinkyminky Yeah i had my first MW appointment on Monday and they did a urine test so hopefully that will pick anything up - somebodyelse mentioned that it might be the pregnacare tablets as they are huge and also orange so i don't know but managing to keep more fluids down now.

Divedaisy, I really hope today goes well for you, iv got my fingers crossed

Can't believe MN was down this morning, i actually had to mark some coursework (might have actually been a sign to get my ass in gear though)

Hope everybody else is well today xx

pinkyminky · 04/04/2008 14:25

Lolabella it could be the tablets I suppose but I've never noticed it myself. Glad you are feeling better x

My friend texted me today after she had had her tarot cards read. She is one of the few people who knows that i am pregnant. Anyway, she said the tarot lady specifically mentioned me (by name) and said that i was pregnant but keeping it a secret and to tell me that it was a little girl!! How bizzare - not sure if i believe in all that but it will be nice to see if she is right in seven months!!

SoExcited · 04/04/2008 14:39

Hi everyone

I read that you can have highlights cos the chemicals don't touch your skin, but to avoid full head colour as you absorb some of the chemicals. Hair dye has some pretty nasty stuff in it too some of the time. Could ask your hairdresser?

I spoke to my midwife yesterday who sounds lovely - I've got my booking appt with her tomorrow. She comes to our house for the first appt which is quite nice. Hope I like her as I think I'm hoping for a home birth. Any one else think they will opt for home birth (especially first timers)? I know it's very early to be thinking about it, but my doc said to think about it before the booking appt.

dozymare · 04/04/2008 14:52

i too will continue getting my roots retouched.....also heard that highlights are ok...i did in previous 2 pg and all was ok...

Tinkerisdead · 04/04/2008 14:55

soexcited i'd like a homebirth. really been thinking about it and have no concerns about it at all other than the potential of haemorrage, im 27 mins from the hospital.

My DH is really against this and so ive now been toying with the idea of a doula or independant midwife so i can labour at home and transfer to hospital. I am worried that my DH would panic and rush me to hospital to early and my labour would be slow etc or more likely to have intervention if i'm wound up.

Really dont know enough about all my opetions to find the best solution. DH and I ended up having an argument about it cos he said "if you have it at home your likely to end up having it on the bloody floor!" and i yelled "thats the point, if i want to have it on the bloody floor I can in my own home!"

ended up with him storming out and me saying dont bother I'll do it all on my own dont come!

Pinkali37 · 04/04/2008 14:58

Hi All,

Good luck daisy today!

SO... following on from my very boring story. Nausea disappeared and community MW worrie dme by saying AGghhhhh so got blood test at doc. First result reported as 16,000 (hcg).. then got second result today. It would appear first result was in fact 160,000 and second result was 168,267.. Doctor is happy with that BUT when i told EPAU the nurse said it hasn't risen much. I said that I thought the levels kind of leveled off at 8-9 weeks and it took longer to rise but she has invited me for a scan on Monday. It was awful though cos she said be prepared to stay for a couple of hours IF I NEED ANYTHING DOING.. well we know what that means.. If doctor is happy it can't be that bad can it???????

Good luck Pinkali hope all is well.
I had my hair coloured at the hairdressers when I was pg before. She said some people's hair and scalp can over react to lightening agents.

People seem to do very well with home water births if you look at some of the past convs. on here. You are all making me a bit jealous now

Tinkerisdead · 04/04/2008 15:41

hanaflower - can i ask what makes you say NOWAY! ha ha, not knocking your choice just wondered what makes you so adamant to see of it helps sway my feelings towards hospital?

pinkali - didnt want you to go unanswered, to me the fact that it has risen seems positive. I know your mind will run riot until your scan so sending you all thoughts and prayers for the long wait xx
