Pinkali - haven't you had a scan that showed all ok?

Had a scan last wednesday at 6wk 5 days which showed all was fine. I have been told that a scan woudln't show if hormone levels were dropping (which i suppose is obvious but that doesn't help).

Heartmum- did you just suddenly feel ok? My ms was never really bad just really didn't know what I fancied for tea, lunch, breakfast etc.. but yesterday it all stopped and today all is fine.

oh pinkali - feeling for you - did your midwife not say that it was normal at all? The bloods are hard as you have to wait 48hrs for follow up test. Try and get them taken asap so you will find out asap.

Blimey - just rang my Dr as thought it was about time I checked in with them and the receptonist said just come firt time at 11wks straight to see MW - I asked her about early scan but she said no, not unless I've had a few m/c - so that's that then guess. First time I will see anyone is in 4 wks time!

I may have to sneak in a early private scan then.

dont blame you roca. I'm having an early scan (havent had date yet though) because there is a minor possibility im 4 weeks ahead of what i think. At first i though was 50/50 being 4 weeks ahead but now im 90% sure im not further ahead.

ceebee-Q for you about ds.. is he still in a cot? My ds is in cot bed on lowest setting so cant get out plus in sleeping bag. Was on thread about when to put them into a bed. I cant decide what to do. We will need the cot when baby month or 2 old. Should i try taking sides of now or what till nearer the time? He sleeps through fine at night, am i just going to make things harder for myself taking sides off as he'l be able to get out of bed when he wants? Thing is when i have big bump and he falls asleep in car i wont be able to carry him from car to cot as i wont be able to reach mattress to put him down! Its a bit of a stretch to reach now!

I dont want to make things harder for myself but also want to try to reduce any possible jealousy etc when baby arrives..

Pinkali - I really hope that the blood tests help to put your mind at rest. It's such a worrying time. If it helps, I know of THREE ladies who have had no morning sickness at all. None whatsoever. All of them went on to have healthy pregnancies and lovely babies at the end of it.

I've finally got my scan date sorted out. Friday 25th April, which seems so far away and so long to wait. By my calculations, I'll be 12 + 3 by then. I need to get my nuchal scan booked too at some point.

Now then. Whereabouts in Manchester is the Gap store with the big maternity department? Manchester is much nearer to me than Leeds and I sometimes have to go up there for work purposes. I'm sure I could fit in a trip to Gap while I'm about.....

Hi Ladies, only away for a couple of days and so much news to catch up on.
Pinkali - try not to worry my MS symptoms are coming and going too - some days i feel so good that it's hard to believe there is anything going on. My fiance thinks im totally strange asking why i would want to feel sick but like you it is reassuring. However, be reassured that ms does appear to come and go - maybe you've just got a happy little pea who doesn't want to upset you!!
Anyway, i hope you can go for your blood tests and get some positive reassurance

Hi All,

Have just come back from the doctors. Once you get past the bull dog of a rceptionship the remainder of them are just so supportive and brilliant. They are testing my hcg level and kidney function (interesting). The nurse has put URGENT on the bloods and has said she will telephone them this afternoon and call me at some point before 6.30pm.

Lolabella - so mine has been here for 2 weeks just on and off during the day but then yesterday and today hav just disappeared. Is that like you? It was the community midwife that said "ooh I think you shoudl get it checked out" GREAT..

My sister has just lent me some maternity clothes, including one of the bands for wearing your normal trousers unbuttoned. This is what i've got:

On the MS front, was sick for the first time this morning. Sometimes better, sometimes worse, but the main thing that has helped (so far?!) is eating something every 2 hours - I only need something small, but if I leave it longer I feel horrible and then it's harder to eat.

Pinkali - exactly the same. Some days i just feel queasy, others don't know what i want to eat, others i wake up and feel great. My ms kicked in about week six for a couple of days then i just went off food and cooking (which i normally love)but no sickness. I was worried cause my sis had terrible ms from week six to sixteen and iv had hardly anything. I just consider myself fairly lucky - so far!!. Luckily my sis is also a midwife and she was able to hear the heartbeat with her doppler at the weekend so again i just reakon we are all different and our bodies must deal with symptoms in their own unique ways. It's great news that you are having your hcg levels checked though. It will really put your mind at rest. And don't forget no cramping or blood are both positive signs anyway. Good luck today

Hi ladies

I am afraid I have to say goodbye to you all and bid everyone well and healthy pregnancies- births.

I suffered a complete miscarriage over the weekend, the EPU did all the scans/tests/cleanup yesterday so it is official. I was 6 weeks and 2 days when it happened.

I am trying to pick myself up again. With my PCOS making it so hard to conceive, I shouldn't have got so happy so soon....maybe in another 14 months I will be back on an EDD thread. Keeping fingers and toes crossed it won't be so long the next time round....

Had a good old cry last night over my fears of HG. Everyone keeps telling me I will be fine and no-one will talk to me about my fears, so DH got the lot last night, inc a great big sobbing me

I too am having strange ms symptoms coming and going at random times. Didn't have any with DS though so it isn't necessarily a bad thing??
mad4mybaby (Sorry to jump in on a Q to someone else)how old is DC? my DS is 21 months and has been in a bed since approx 19 months he has always been a good sleeper and we had no bother with him. we put him straight into a single with a guard on and he was soo excited to go into his Big Boys Bed he didn't mind - I think the guard helped cause he still felt secure.

I've got no ms yet, so am feeling lucky, but only 6 weeks or so in. Have plenty of other little issues though - bloating after I've eaten, sore boobs, mixture of constipation and the opposite in turns, exhausted, etc. But still on a high so don't mind any of it. Doctor tomorrow morning for first chat.

Can't you get decaff coke which is ok?

Pinkali, yep, I just felt better but then my ms has never been bad in any of my pregnancies. I ususally have a week where I feel quite sick and that's it. with ds2 it was 7-8 weeks, thought I had got it over with this time, but it seems to have come back. I still had mild other symptoms like tender nips, constipation, headaches and lots of cm (ick!) and being really bloated by the evenings.

I was hoping that the doppler I rented would be here this morning (I knew I should have gone with the company that offered next day delivery). Hopefully tomorrow. I heard ds2 at 9+3. I must remember not to get too scared if I can't find it this early, lol!

Just got my scan date, so added it to the list! Can't wait although it's still 4 weeks away....

Hello all. Found out I was pregnant last week after ttc since last June. We already have a 3 yr old son, and I had a m/c in October. I'm absolutely delighted to have a BFP , but worried, too (natural, I s'pose). Saw my doctor today and got 30th Nov as my due date. Got a dating scan next week, and first 'booking in' appt with midwife next week, too. Very exciting! So, enough waffle. hello!
