pinkyminky point me in the direction of the Gap Maternity Sale!!!!!!!!!!!

Online or in store??!

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 21:41

sorry x posts. Hi Skibump!

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 21:43

Ahh yes fab. Don't know about online, it was in the store here. Very nice clothes.

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 21:53

I'm sorry ... but rice and melted cheese - with a combination like that you just have to be pregnant! I thought I was bad with peanut butter, jam and banana on toast! (I love this even when not preg!!!)

I'm not going to buy maternity clothes yet. Want to wait till I'm further on and anyway my stretchy Next jeans are a bit big on me, and are comfy enough for now. I have a few bits'n'pieces from first preg so they'll do along with a few pairs of trousers and shorts (for the SUMMER!!)

QUESTION 5 years ago when preg with DS I found an accessory that allowed you to continue wearing your own jeans throughout the whole term. It was an insert that attached into your jeans at the zip area. I think they were available in Bloomin Marvellous, but are not available there now. Does anyone know what I'm talking about!!?? Has anyone had them - were they any good? Does anyone know where they are available?

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 21:54

Hi twinkling- yes I am trying to stay positive. I still felt sick from the start but I was on my first trip to the drip by this time with dd. It is scary I agree but we have to try not to panic, and remind ourselves that we've got through it before.

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 22:02

Welcome skibump! Congrats. Add yourself to our wee list!
Pinkyminky - hope you feel better soon. It's not good when you feel rubbish.
Mad4baby - yummm cola bottles!! Oh i found a website through curlyback (I think - I;ll find out) Anyhow you can buy Quarter pounds of sweets - cola bottles included! I bought Lions Midget Gems - can't wait for them to arrive!!!
Mummyhill - Karate! OMG!!! Really! I just don't have the energy. I'm with the other fridge-door-obics! Though what exercise can I do? I've been told swimming is not good for my neck (chronic neck pain due to prolapsed discs) and I loved swimming.Must contact my local leisure centre to see what antenatal exercise classes are available.

There are a lot of very active mums-to-be on here. Gym, karate, running, high impact aerobics... makin me feel fat and frumpy!

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 22:03

Divedaisy- not a risotto fan then?

divedaisy · 31/03/2008 22:05

AQuarterOf.co.uk I got this site through Pigsback.com. Happy shopping!

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 22:07

do they do an aqua-natal at your baths? It's not swimming, more like gentle aqua- aerobics and quite relaxing- would you be able to do that?

twinklingfairy · 31/03/2008 22:29

divedaisy, I saw those on the boots website ( I am sure) They looked like a really good idea, reckon I must get one cos I am struggling with my clothes now.

So don't worry about being fat and frupy, cos I am too

Emmanj · 31/03/2008 22:30

hi guys,

divedaisy - i noticed you have bad neck pain - im really suffereing with this too, it was a prob befor pregnancy so i just keep thinking all the hormones and worry r makng it worse - how are u managing to cope with it?

Roca · 31/03/2008 22:57

someone please pass me some matchsticks and anti sickness pills - I HAVE to get some work done and I am fading...........

Creena · 31/03/2008 23:01

Hullo ladies. Wowser, it has been busy here, hasn't it?!

Hello, welcome and congratulations to all of our new members. It's great to have you with us.

Scully - I am so very sorry to hear your news. It's so utterly unfair that you have had to go through such a traumatic experience again. Please take care of yourself. I'm glad to hear that you're thinking ahead and into the future. xxx

Big hugs to all of you who have had scans! So glad to hear that all is progressing well. I'm noticing that a few of us are being told that we're not as far along as we think - how odd!

I also want to say thank you so much for all of your lovely and kind messages and thoughts. I was so touched - I think you're all wonderful! An especially big hug goes to Divedaisy!

I'm doing ok now. The spotting has stopped and the cramps have also eased off. I'm still getting the odd sharp pain in my tummy but I've worked out what's causing them....flipping constipation and the wind that goes with it! Honestly - for the past two days I've sounded like I've got a small brass band following me around.

I've had my dating scan appointment through but it's on a day that I can't make because of work stuff so I'm going to try and rearrange it. It's not until the 23rd, which seems like an age away. Any new date I get is bound to be for a later date too. I bet I'll end up having the nuchal fold scan before my dating scan at this rate.

Creena · 31/03/2008 23:05

Also, Gap maternity wear - am very of those of you who can get hold of it! You can't get it online if you live in the UK (their site will only ship to US addresses and will only accept payments from cards registered in the US). I went to my nearest large store at the weekend (how's that for positive thinking!) only to be told that the nearest store that stocks the maternity range is in Leeds! LEEDS! I'm gutted. Some of the stuff I saw on the website looked really lovely too.

pinkyminky · 31/03/2008 23:39

Manchester has quite a big dept. non in the trafford centre, strangely.
Divedaisy don't feel down. Walking to the play park is an achievement for me at the mo.

dozymare · 01/04/2008 07:29

Morning All......what lovely posts last night...we all seem happy (if slightly worried bunnies!!) I haveoup 9op woken up this morning and feel fat and lazy.....the thought of taking the boys to a toddler group is NOT appealling...now staying in and making a carrot cake is far more!!

Is anyone got a hard tummy?! I still have jelly belly below my belly button, but above it has gone all hard?!!!

Just had a quick look at the sweetie website......WOWIE! They will be getting a huge order from me later, I just need to get the boys out of my hair so I can sit down and salivate whilst ordering!!! Is anyone based in South London/Surrey and know what Gap locally does Mat.wear? I know Wimbledon doesn't and can't bear a trip up to the Kensington store which I know does!

Ta DM x

mad4mybaby · 01/04/2008 08:36

we've been on that website and we spent about £60 on it! Ha ha, good job we will be getting free dentist!!

divedaisy, i know the little thing you are talking about and i asked on another thread about it last week and got no response! Perfectly happy people sell them called a belly belt. Ive ordered a bump belt of topshop for £5. You know the boob tube type thing you can wear over waistband so you can wear jeans undone and covers your tummy if top rides up!

I havent tried them but alot of people rave about preggie drops..designed for ms...

mummyhill · 01/04/2008 08:46

My mat clothes have come out of storage and are in use already as I seem to be expanding rather quickly but hey ho the price I pay for No 3 I suppose. Also I probably could get away with "normal" clothes but from experience prefer comfort.

Gone off tea and coffee but am mad for coke or Dr Pepper again, perfectly normal for me in pregnancy.

To be honest I am not worrying too much about food. Eating a bit of what I fancy when I fancy, have gone off the thought of stilton etc though thank goodness as I love blue veined cheeses and will be pigging out on them as soon as baby has come to meet us.

dozymare · 01/04/2008 09:12

Mummyhill - I am also on number 3 and honestly, I look 6 months PG already! Can only just about see my toes...have you got a hard tummy as well??!!

Know what you mean about food, we were in Wagamama's at the weekend and I happily tucked into a portion of Ebi Katsu before remembereing I shouldn't be eating prawns!! By that stage, it was far to late as had scoffed 5 but consoled myself with the fact they were deep fried so any bugs must have been zapped!!!

My first PG I knew EXACTLY how many days I was PG, my 2nd I had a pretty good idea....this one I am so vague....oooohhh about 8 weeks

I think by the time you get to 3rd PG you are so busy rushing around that you don't have the time to dedicate to being PG!! Make the most of it you 1st timers!!!!!!!!!!

dozymare · 01/04/2008 09:15

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO APOLOGISE NOW AND IN ADVANCE FOR MY DREADFUL SPELLING/TYPING OVER THE COMING MONTHS...I AM MERELY AN INCOMPETMENT TYPER AND DREADFUL SPELLER!!!

DM X

Ash80 · 01/04/2008 09:22

Hi all, hows everyone feeling? I been feeling quite rough cause of MS. Im really hungry but can't face eating anything!

And cause i haven't i told my firends i have to put on a brave face, around them.

mummyhill · 01/04/2008 09:27

Hi Dozy, I am glad I am not the only one.

By lunchtime the top of my belly is rockhard but the post baby flab from ds below belly button is still quite soft iyswim.

I even got my dates muddled and had a laugh with my mate about it. It is gonna be hard racing round after the two I already have and being pregnant so I am just gonna stop thinking about it and get on with it iyswim.

I nearly p'd myself laughing when the GP told me I need to slow down and take it easy!!!!! FFS I have a very active 2 yr old boy and a six yr old girl who loves going to after school activities etc, I also work part time as otherwise we wouldn't all eat. I have had several people telling me I am mad and that I won't be able to go back to work afterwards or be able to manage without a car of my own! We shall see.

ceebee74 · 01/04/2008 09:34

Mmmm - sweets. Thanks for the link - I think I may be going on later. With DS my craving was for Haribo sweets (I literally couldn't leae the house without a bag in my pocket

Divedaisy - I have definitely seen those waist expander things in a catalogue I got through the post very recently - if it isn't Blooming Marvellous then it must be Bump To 3 so it may be worth checking out their website.

Gap maternity wear is fab - me and DH were in Manchester a couple of weeks ago (before I knew I was pg unfortunately) and they have half a floor dedicated to it and they had some gorgeous stuff. DH said I could go back and get some when I got pg - but unfortunately it isn't easy for us to get to Manchester centre and am gutted that the Trafford Centre doesn't do it.

Dozy - nope, my stomach is still wobbly and fat

Creena - glad the spotting has stopped - it must be a relief for you - and lol at the small brass band following you around

Right should get on with some work

x

I feel really sad today. Had an answer machine message left by local midwife asking me to call. So this morning i called and asked her about my sudden stopping of ms. She said I should call the EPAU, so I did. the lady there was very nice and said this can sometimes happen but that a scan wouldn't show what was going on and only a blood test would so I needed to contact my doctor. I managed to speak with one of the nurses at the practice and explained what I had been told and she told me that she would speak with a doctor and ring me back. I am now in a state of panic as I am sooooo worried something is wrong. I think they are going to do that blood test Duncangirl had done to see if my levels are rising still. I just can't believe it. What if my levels aren't rising and that is the reason for my now lack of ms?

Heartmum2Jamie · 01/04/2008 10:02

Wow! You lot are very chatty! I wasn't able to get online yesterday as had to take ds2 to a hospital appt in Brum which took most of the day (with a little detour to H&M maternity to pick up some trousers!) By the time I got back it was tea time and I had a headache and just felt bluergh!

I am glad to hear some of you are doing better on the sickness front this time, it must be a scary time for those of you who have had hyperemisis (sp?) before. I thought I was doing well, felt nauseos between 6 & 7 weeks and then felt better, it seems to have come back at 9 weeks, oh joy! I thought last night was because I had a headache but still feel a bit queasy this morning and trying to force my breaky down. Mind you, this is probably because I am over hungry, but still!

I haven't had chance to read all the posts properly, just skimmed them, but Creena, I am glad the spotting has stopped.

Scully, I am so very sorry to hear your news.
