KnitterInTheNW · 30/03/2008 16:02

PAL, I've just seen your pics on facebook. She's just gorgeous and what a very pleased big brother she has! Beautiful name too.

TLSM · 30/03/2008 16:04

Congrates PAL our biggest so far well done

TLSM · 30/03/2008 16:06

Oh i am now feeling left out must find you all on facebook!

ThePFJ · 30/03/2008 16:54

PAL that sounds amazing!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Can I ask you about your stitches please?
How much does it hurt to sit down on them, and do they hurt generally?
Also, do you have any trouble going for a pee?

The first timer to be in me has to be curious. Don't worry if you don't want to tell us about it though!

WELL DONE!
I hope I have a birth like that.

FANTASTIC! Yey PAL am so pleased for you x
Fab birth story, makes it sound so easy....

Also yey and congrats again to vacaloca - Pablo is a fab name

for new babies

I am better today. Sorry for strop yesterday ladies - I talked it through reasonably and sensibly with DP after...oh who am I trying to kid? I meant to do that, but what actually happened was that he said, 'What's wrong?' and I went 'Waaaaaa' and dissolved into floods of tears. Was all sorted and lots of cuddles so OK now.

DP helped me get our room ready today finally too! I think he was feeling guilty . It looks all lovely and I am feeling very nesty and happy.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 30/03/2008 18:38

Wow PAL congrats!!! So fast, god I hope my second comes in the same way, contractions at 2am, pushing at 7am and home for lunch by 1. Perfect!

christmaspixie · 30/03/2008 18:45

Oh my goodness, more babes!! How fantastic, and wonderful birth stories, making me feel all teary and excited (and oh just a wee bit scared!!) Many Congratulations x

bunyanvillas · 30/03/2008 18:45

Blimmin' heck Port, how absolutely fantastic!!! Congratulations! Am delighted to hear that it all went so well for you, fingers crossed for a similar experience!

ToastAddict · 30/03/2008 18:54

Wow, what great stories

Congrats to vaca and PaL

Who's next?

PortAndLemon · 30/03/2008 18:58

ThePFJ -- the stitches themselves don't hurt. Oddly enough (strays into TMI territory) my fanjo doesn't hurt to sit on, but my arse does... it's OK as long as I sort of perch on one buttock or have enough padding (not that I don't have plenty of natural padding... ). I suspect one of those valley cushions would help too if I had one. It stings only very slightly when I pee - I had been expecting far worse.

ThePFJ · 30/03/2008 19:38

Oh wow. Thats not so bad at all!!
-looks vaguely relieved and hopeful hers won't be worse-
Thats good for a 2nd degree I am assuming.
Thanks PAL for answering my questions.

Mum update: My dad and brother got to her at 5pm in the end, and they are just now all passing Gloucester.
Only about 2 hours to get here to Derbyshire now. You would think.
-waits for the lightning to strike-

ThePFJ · 30/03/2008 19:39

Oh and glad your DP was so nice to you today Ellie. You deserve it

Mollyfloss · 30/03/2008 19:42

PAL: Congrats!!!! That was quick! Can't believe you're home and have posted etc. You sounds so calm. What a great birth story and a VBAC at that.

Lot's of babies here considering it's not actually April yet!

Just had a two hour nap and it's very rare for me to nap but I'll take whatever sleep I can now. My body is exhausted today! I empathise with all you other ladies who's bodies are in pain. I have aches and pains all over and this LO kicks like crazy!

PFJ: Glad your Mum is finally getting there. So she is staying for two months? That's a great help for you. Does your DP mind?

Knitter: I bet your experience as a nanny is invaluable right now! and so much nicer that it's your own LO I've been told by a lot of people that I am good with kids and that's probably true with toddlers (probably because they think I am the same mental age as them) but am not so sure about tiny little babies. I feel like I have 'instinct' with them and my friends seem to think I'm a natural but it's impossible to really know until the LO arrives.I'm good at calming them (probably because I sing a lot) but the BF might be quite hard although my Mum seems to think it will happen really naturally because it did for her. We'll just have to see...

PortAndLemon · 30/03/2008 20:25

Oh... 57.5 cm, obviously, not inches. That would have been excessive...

ThePFJ · 30/03/2008 20:25

Hi Molly.

Havent seen my mum for so very long, and my DP is fine with it. He says she can recouporate here and he knows shes not the controlling type.. else I dont think either of us would want her here!
She wants to contribute to shopping and heating too so I wont say no and it really helps make everyone feel more comfortable.

She's been staying with her friend in cornwall/renting a room for a year now. The room is tiny and the friend looks after elderly dad who keeps my mum awake most every night. She loves her friend alot but really really needed to get out of there for a wee while. She cant wait for all her illnesses to be sorted out finally so she can get back to work and find her own place again back in cornwall.
I hope seeing my LO and staying here in lovely Derbyshire will cheer her up and put her on a positive slide back upwards.

Fingers crossed it all works out really.

elfsmummy · 30/03/2008 20:50

Wow congratulations to all the new babies. Lovely stories. Makes me all excited. Just over a week til due date now.

Really need to get those names sorted.....

Was listening to radio 1 yesterday morning and someone did a shout out for their wife who had had a baby girl the previous evening. They had called the little girl April and it made me wonder if it was one of us as there was some talk about it as a possible for somebody many many threads ago.
Wouldn't that be a small world

AussieDivaOnABreak · 30/03/2008 21:06

Judging from all the recent action I would suggest that this thread is def the place to be at..ooh, say around 3am??? Nite nite girls, let's see what news there is in the morning! Sleep well you new mummies if you can, thinking of you lol x

KnitterInTheNW · 30/03/2008 21:54

Sleep? What's that?!

Mollyfloss · 30/03/2008 22:02

PFJ: It is going to be so nice to have your Mum for two months. I didn't realise she was on her own and that she had been ill etc. Being around her grandchild is going to do her so much good and it's obviously going to do you a lot of good too. I think you are all in for a lovely couple of months. My Mum pops over and back from Dublin fairly often. 3 out of 4 of us live outside Ireland and she visits us all a lot especially since my Dad died and it does her a lot of good. She will be over the minute the LO is born (her 3rd grandchild) and can't wait!

chipmonkey · 30/03/2008 22:11

PAL!, well done, you! These babies are beginning to come hot and fast now!

bunnyrabbit · 30/03/2008 22:18

Bagsy next

If I don't get rid of this cough, it may be quicker than planned! My brother was here yesterday and I had a massive coughing fit whereupon he explained to my nephews (12 and 19) what exactly 'waters breaking' meant.

Thanks a lot!!! Then he offered to run me to hospital if anything happened whilst DH was at work. Thanks sweetie but I'm having a home birth!!

BR

ThePFJ · 31/03/2008 02:43

She's here!
They all arrived about 11:30pm in the end, and all safe and well. Mum is exstatic to be here and loves my house! Thanks to all who wished us luck, I can completely relax now!!
Finally I can go to bed. Night night. Lets see what the morning brings, and who will be next to drop a beautiful baby.
