mine is moving in and out of pelvic inlet too. MW says be thankful in a way, as it shows it is not a tight-tight fit

However, when he floats up I get all the nausea of heartburn, and less of the cervix stretching, so I know which I prefer!

Had reflex yesterday. Cried (quelle suprise) during the history taking, she wouldn't do a full on induction thingy on me because she said I probably wouldn't cope and did more of a relaxtion one instead. Twas a bit spooky, in that i was twinging/getting nausea/heating up/cooling down/baby kicking like a puppet on a string in repsonse to relevant pressure points.

Not sure can be bothered going back though, as I can do without added doubts in my mental ability to cope being raised by her again! My take was that its a bit bloody chicken/egg at this stage. I'm fnking despondent because i hate late PG and now its going on and on. I need baby OUT for mood improvement! But I'm not prepared to make him risk induction just to get me cheerier.

3madboys · 06/03/2008 13:03

hello all, seems like a few of us are getting a bit fed up...

all ok here, well apart from being a week overdue, baby still engaged and well down, midwife could feel the babies head when she did a sweep, which was ok, not uncomfy at all, she says my cerivx is really RIPE and that they could break my waters if they needed to.

accupuncture tomorrow morning, good shag tonight and baby at the wkend........ well he's hoping.

i have an app at the hospital for term plus 14, when they will do a trace and a scan to check all ok, they are being a bit stroppy tho and wanting me in at term plus ten, i said NO, they also want me to go for monitering EVERY day once i am term plus ten, cos obviously i have time to traipse to the hospital, wait for bed to be free and then sit for an hour, oh yeah and with three other kids in tow anyway a consultant is looking at my notes and they will ring me back.....

fitnfortyone · 06/03/2008 14:53

grr, Lo getting my hopes up again this morning with a quick vomit, but m/w called earlyish to check bp which had rocketed again. Possibly because of vomiting, who knows.
Anyway, got sent off to hosp again for monitoring, bp had come down again by the time i got there as they left me sitting in the waiting room for 20 mins or so where i was able to listen to my relaxation music.
Then got offered a sweep which they tried...but am apparently completely closed at the moment! So much for all the contractions. They did say it can change really quickly though, but doesn't help for now thinking that things were moving along nicely

tori32 · 06/03/2008 15:15

Hi all, sorry to hear about all the false hope and niggles. Just think it won't be long now and then we will be wishing for pregnancy when at least the baby was quiet!! and didn't require hours of feeding! Make the most of the freeish time.

My LO is not engaged yet either, but I think it is last minute with 2nd,3rd etc babies. DD was engaged from 6wks last time 3/5 and stayed exactly the same until my cesarian [grrr]. At least if it isn't engaged then it has a chance of turning the right way for me.
Really looking forward to my scan tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed that baby is not massive.

no news from MOM yet?

ibblewob · 06/03/2008 21:04

I'm 40+4 today, have appt at hospital for sweep tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!

Was two weeks overdue with DS, and have been reading about how it might poss be related to monthly cycles? So, mine are normally between 32-37 days (sorry if TMI) - does that mean I should calculate my pregnancy by 9 months of at least 32 days rather than 9 months of 28?

Any insight welcome, am going a bit crazy and really empathise with everyone else being a bit fed up!

Jaysthird · 06/03/2008 21:42

still here, still with child......

HolidaysQueen · 07/03/2008 06:47

Morning all! I had a good midwife appt yesterday to check my bp (which had shot up last week). It's dropped back a bit so is considered 'stable' rather than 'rising' and as I'm now 37 weeks I have the all clear to try for the birth centre at my hospital. Hurrah! Baby has continued his descent and is now 3/5. TBH having that show on Thursday has now made me start to really count down the days. If it hadn't happened I would have been psyched up for at least another 3 weeks but now I'm feeling like it could be any day now when actually it could still be another 3 weeks. Grr.

I have to go into work today. I finished 3 weeks ago but there is an important meeting because of the reorg they've been having. So I'm up at this ungodly hour because it starts at 8.30 and I normally don't get into the office until 9.30. Grr again.

I'm really hoping that today is the day for many of you. I expect to return to a very sparse message board

imjin100 · 07/03/2008 08:28

hi all - still here as well. Have acupuncture appointment today - not sure what the point is but think it might be good. Wondering if reflexology would be better - anyone in South West London know a good reflexologist? Just a thought.

Hope everyone has a good day and at least one baby appears just to keep everyone positive and remembering what this is all aboiut!

timmyinatizzy · 07/03/2008 08:40

I think all the babies are on strike Imjin!

Tis my due date today, but I can't see it happening....at all. Oh well nevermind. Dsd's are excited although they don't want Junior to put an appearance in tomorrow as they have a swimming party to go to in the afternoon, and may not be able to go if things happen.

Have felt pretty crap the last couple of days, and only managed to put washing on. Feeling a better today. Going to make up a batch of tomato and onion sauce for the dsd's. They love this over mince (a la Spag Bol) and chicken pieces.

Right off to take them to school, hope its stopped raining.

MissingMyHeels · 07/03/2008 09:04

We're having a baby drought at the moment! Come on little one's, it's time to get out now

Imjin - The Vitality Centre in Southfields was recommended to me by JFly, Saskia the reflexologist is very good - she works on Mon, Tue and Thu.

I have consultants appointment this morning to discuss my naughty wriggly baby and hopefully have a plan of action as to how we make her come out. I've been really tearful and fed up for the last couple of days and been having awful nightmares about everything going wrong. Feeling a bit happier today thank goodness!

turtle23 · 07/03/2008 09:16

TMI, but who else am I going to ask...got up to go to the loo at 4 am and it was a bit pink when i wiped...not bloody by any means, just pink. Should this be worrying me? Nothing else since.

MissingMyHeels · 07/03/2008 09:24

Oooh turtle, sounds like a show to me! I wouldn't be too worried but maybe call your m/w for peace of mind?

merryberry · 07/03/2008 09:31

40+5 today. had another batch of contractions with backache and mild pain. 6pm yest to 5am today. never more than 5 an hour though.

am keeping on an even keel with artificially lowering my hopes. spent some time in the long dark night reconciling myself to an induction next week, mostly on the grounds that all this cervical pain and contraction activity must get me ready to pop by then?!? Hope to have a gentler induction I mean, maybe just the gel.

turtle23 · 07/03/2008 09:46

That means you have ages to go yet, MB, doesn't it? So much can happen in a week plus. Do not despair just yet.
MMH-Did think it might be just the tiniest bit dislodging, but have decided just to kep an eye on it.

OP posts:
tori32 · 07/03/2008 09:56

Good morning all Well the day has started well at my end..managed to get dd off to creche without incident or tantrum as she has really missed the minded dcs and has been really naughty since I finished work . I think she just knows I am too tired to be bothered to deal with tantrums at the mo.

ibblewob If you have a 28 day cycle then ovulation is normally on day 14 approx. However, if like me you have up to 45 day cycles then you should count back 14 days, so for me that would be day 31 of the cycle would be when I ovulate/conceive. Effectively this means that baby may not be due anyway until at least a further 2 wks even without being over due IYSWIM.

Jaysthird · 07/03/2008 09:57

okydoky, some of you ladies know this, but i too had a show. Now i havnt had one with either two kids, but i am sure that (TMI ALERT) very thick mucusy, snotty type looking stuff, thats tinged with a browny/reddy ,colour is a show?! well i am bloody well hoping so!! Happened this morning and since then having some( not many) tighnenings with mild periody cramps....C'MON, BABY!!! See threatened with induction and things start! Hoping to rub some of this positive energy onto you both, turtle and Merrry!! Mery when was your induction booked?
Turtle, sounds like it could be the start of a show to me!!

Whoo hooo, sorry cant contain my relief of something ACTUALLY happening!!!! going to have a walk around for a bit see if i cant jiggle this baby out!

tori32 · 07/03/2008 09:58

Good luck jaysthird! Jiggle away!

turtle23 · 07/03/2008 09:59

Jaysthird- Never thought I could be so happy for someone else going into labour!! Hurrah!

OP posts:
spugs · 07/03/2008 10:14

god luck jay sounds promising

turtle - that sounds like a show, i had one a few days before i went into labour with dd1 and the same day with dd2.

my babies dont do as there supposed to as both my 2nd and 3rd have engaged early. dd2 was engaged from 37 weeks (fully at 39) and this one has been 2/5s since 36 weeks

mom- hope things are going well, any baby yet?

why is no one having babies? everyone seems to be going over due on this thread its the curse of march 08

JFly · 07/03/2008 10:15

Oh praise be, Jay! You give us all hope. Someone has GOT to have a baby today. Pretty please with sugar on top??

I'm jealous of all these snotty knickers. Don't forget a show can come in drips and drabs, so a little pinky mucus could probably be the beginning, turtle. imjin really recommend Saskia at Vitality Centre. It's very relaxing, even if it hasn't resulted in labour just yet. Accupuncture may be more effective, but depends on the practitioner and on you. Also have a good accupuncturist there, too, if you're interested.

MB your reflex sounds not so relaxing! I'm sorry she doubted your ability to cope. That seems like a weird thing to say. I've not had my person say anything about emotions; she's a bit more clinical, I guess. Hopefully you won't need another appt or the induction. Don't despair, you're strong, I know it!

This time seems to really drag and I find it frustrating, too. I'm not sure what's worse, no symptoms or lots of symptoms that don't turn into labour!

littleducks · 07/03/2008 10:42

i'm fed up! dont want to have baby today but dont want to be pregnant anymore iyswim!

have booked a massage for monday so maybe i will perk up then.

fitnfortyone · 07/03/2008 11:48

thank god for someone out there having signs of impending births! Good luck for quick labours and very of you!

m/w just been and luckily bp had come down a bit today so I don't have to be checked up on tomorrow. She's coming out on sunday morning to try a sweep again, when hopefully there'll be more sign of an "opening" than yesterdays "completely closed"... . I'm 40+5, thought you were a day ahead of me MB or have you lost a day along the way?

Have been given the warnings that if bp continues to play up they'll insist I transfer to hospital, though i thought they couldn't do that without our informed consent? But anyway, cross that bridge when i come to it - think that once the uncertainty about whether or not i'm actually having real contractions is resolved then i can relax a bit more iyswim?

monthlymayhem · 07/03/2008 11:58

Morning Ladies.

Jay & Turtle - sounds like things are starting for you, fingers crossed

I had a bit of a meltdown on Wednesday with our one and only bathroom getting ripped out- resulting in what looked like a bomb had gone off in our house. That coupled with the fact my Dad and DH were still drilling/sawing/hammering at 4.30am and started again at 8am meant I only got a couple of hours sleep and of course ended up in tears... was getting lots of strong BHs and pelvic pain which I think were just brought on by being so stressed

Bath and shower are now in so at least they're usable if I go into labour. Unlike most of you, I am therefore praying that LO is a little late so we can get it finished (but not late enough to need an induction please)!

Anyway, went to hairdressers yesterday, and had manicure and eyelashes tinted so am feeling much better and look a little more human again

merryberry · 07/03/2008 12:04

can't do anything without your consent, fitn41. not a thing. always good to practice saying calmly: 'we do not consent to that.' of course, pressure bought to bear in all sorts of ways, so don't be suprised if you find yourself agreeing to things in labour that you look back at and think 'WTF?'

i'm due on 1st march by LMP dates and 2nd March by scan measure. Using the 2nd now!

How's it going Jay?
