Hello all, I'm back. Our kitchen ceiling has partially collapsed, my cats needed a new home for 3 weeks and I'm sitting on packed bags hoping to see dp in 3 days which will make a huge difference to sending naughty vids on skype... Singapore here I come...for 2 months to begin with but that's long enough to bake myself by the pool...

How is everyone?

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/04/2008 22:01

Blimey Alexa - is this something you've been planning for a while, or a sudden decision because of the house falling apart?!

How is your pregnancy going?

twinklytoes · 05/04/2008 07:44

didn't even lurk yesterday - was so tired.

got a weekend of ironing and housework and the packing for a week away in minehead.

want to take the dds swimming so just hoping the cossie will fit over this weeny bump.

its a pound per scan pic here but have never paid as am an nhs employee

bethoo · 05/04/2008 10:52

we just have to give a donation. i gave a fiver at my 20 weeks scan with ds and just £1.50 this time as did not have much in my wallet. i got 7 pics this time, he kept moving so they took a few to get him in different a decent position. there is go again refering to baby as a boy!!!

Clairedaz · 05/04/2008 12:14

sorry to hear ur news clairedaz.

rach010- scan photos at the luton and dunstable has gone from £3.50 for the past 17years to £5.00 each

Sprogstersmum · 05/04/2008 19:26

So sorry clairedaz.

Just updating as hardly ever have the energy to post! Had 12 week scan on Mon and all fine which is great although just can't help worrying something is going to go wrong all the time - sure I wasn't this bad with DD but had mc after that pregnancy and think that has made me more worried. Wish I could just relax and really believe that come Oct I'll have a baby.

Hope everyone else is well and nausea is starting to ease!

Sprogstersmum · 05/04/2008 19:27

Forgot to say scan at Queens Romford was £4 a pic - sure it was only £2 when had DD a couple of years ago.

Very sorry to hear that Clairedaz. My mmc (first pregnancy) was also discovered at 12 weeks, so I can understand roughly how you must be feeling. Thoughts are with you.

twinklytoes · 05/04/2008 22:15

you'll probably all in bed now.

clairedaz - thoughts with you.

myjob - will be on site but working at spring harvest so no red coats or bob the builder.

clairedaz , wishing you all the best for a future pg.

We had our first scan on Friday, baby really showing off and jumping round like it had hiccups! Most odd.
Everything seemed Ok but we have to wait a week for the combined test results for the downs screening.
They also moved my date to 10th Oct (from 16th!) which is quite a difference so I went from 12+1 to 13 weeks in 10 minutes. If only the rest accelerated like that! With the DS's they didn't alter dates after the scan but apparently now, whatever the scan says is the definite date from then on.
Didn't have to pay for pics either.
Hope everyone is enjoying the snow - it's about 2/3 inches here and a big surprise when we got up this morning!

sugr · 06/04/2008 12:10

Hiya, new joiner to this thread after being an avid watcher of mumsnet for the last 12 weeks but not wanting to tempt fate. First baby due Oct 10th (two days before my 40th birthday ).

Had a nuchal scan last week with a very scary false positive (1:2 chance) which after three sleepless days came back as everything OK and a girl.

Am spending today packing away all the clothes that I don't fit into anymore, think I will need to go shopping next week especially for some bras!

MrsTittleMouse · 06/04/2008 15:59

clairedaz I'm so sorry to hear that.

minervaitalica · 06/04/2008 16:36

clairedaz - really sorry to hear the news.

I am starting to feel less rotten too (14+3), and somehow this week it's all starting to feel a bit more real. probably that's because I definitely have a bump now, and it shows unless I hide it in my huge fleece.

Off to finish baking my apple cake now...

rosebury · 06/04/2008 16:59

Clairdaz really sorry to hear your very sad news take care x.

Just catching up with everyones messages we have been away for a few days visiting family in Lytham, its such a nice place beautiful houses and lovely to walk along the seafront feeling very relaxed and also happy to be home.

14wks now and feeling great not long for the rest of you to get into the second trimester it really is better than the first.

Tedmundo I think you come from the same area Bristol.

clairedaz, so sorry for you. Hope things work out for you though.

I have not been on for awhile and cant believe how many pages there are already!

I have scan on weds, getting nervous now! I remember with dd being so excited until you realise they are checking baby there etc and now after readin such sad news it makes you sit back and think about it. I will be nervous until weds over and all ok.

Need to start a thread on 3 degree tears as had one with dd after consultant cut me and then tore me and want advise on 2nd labour and also symptoms in pregnancy.

take care all for now.

SmudgeyDoodle · 06/04/2008 20:51

Clairedaz to hear your sad news. Look after yourself and hope you are back on a thread when you decide to try again.
Knickersonmahead hope all goes well for tomorrow. I've got a scan date through -22nd April when I'll be 14 weeks and then another appointment 2 days later which I guess is with the MW for booking in?
DS been poorly all weekend. Throwing up and feeling sorry for himself and just wanting to lie on me or DH and sleep. We're all shattered now but I think he's on the mend. How on earth do you cope with 2?
Hedgepig - how was your litter pick? We had lots of snow up here so you wouldn't have found any litter!

SmudgeyDoodle · 06/04/2008 20:54

oh Jenwa, I know how you feel about worrying whether everything is ok. I had a third degree tear with DS too - just tore though as DS came out rather quickly and I was standing up. Was wondering whether I needed to check anything out but am stupidly shy about asking questions of scary professionals. Am happy to share stories, symptoms etc
