Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

feelingpositive · 21/02/2008 11:33

Hi Splishsplash - thanks for the congrats. Hopefully we can both breath a big sight of relief in a few weeks time.

I am off to London for the weekend, so will no doubt have a lot to catch up on on mn when I get back!! Hope you all have a nice weekend and glad to hear many of you are feeling better.

x fp

mamamufin · 21/02/2008 13:01

Afternoon all,

mustsleep I do believe we are entitled to exactly the same holiday as normal
.

Oh heck! still the nausea and vomiting remains. I had a relephone consultation with my Gp this morning just to let her know that I am still suffering and that its getting me down down down. I asked for B6 but she did not know if this would help. I said that I still havent heard about scan despite her requesting an earlier one for me. She has now prescribed me the meteclopramide that some of you have prevoiusly called the wonder drug. fingers crossed.
Have fun in London FP. X

mustsleep · 21/02/2008 13:16

hope that works for you mammufin

my nausea appears to have gone for the time being but i just don't fancy anything to eat and have no appetite at all

every day this week i have had a banging headache, so bad that it's waking me in the morning, have tried paracetemol but it just won't shift it have been to the opticians but they said my vision is 20 20 .... not sure what to make of it

maybe it's caffiene dts?

surelyyoucantbeserious · 21/02/2008 13:25

mustsleep - banging headaches for me too and woke up with one today. Drinking gallons of water but no help, and strong coffee didn't help either.... my friend who is due in July has had migraines lately too... and my sis always complained of headaches when she was expecting. Maybe its just another symptom we have to add to list?

bogie · 21/02/2008 13:55

Hi everyone
Glad to hear about all the scans that have gone well.

biglips · 21/02/2008 14:43

hiya all!.. my MS is on and off as i was sick this morning and all day been feeling drained an washed out - bleurgh!!!

i do hope the others's MS will passed

Leonie - glad to hear the MS is subsiding

hopefully · 21/02/2008 15:49

oh gosh, some one's started a due in November thread! We must all be super-pregnant then. Practically old hands.

kel78 · 21/02/2008 16:40

My ms too has kind of worn off but I kind of feel abit worried now to have just woken up and feel alot better. All the things that nomally make me gag are not. Not sure if this is just natural but im only 10.5 weeks so was expecting to have it abit longer. Any one else started feeling better about this stage??

lollipopmother · 21/02/2008 16:47

Kel - Morning sickness is so personal to each person that you'll get some people say they were sick all the way through to when they actually gave birth, to some whos wore of in week 8. I feel a lot better this week and haven't thrown up my food since the weekend, I'm exactly 12 weeks today. BUT, the only think I want to eat is spaghetti hoops on toast, and that's what I shall be having (again!) tonight!

izzybiz · 21/02/2008 16:59

Hello everyone, hope you are all well, haven't been on for a while.

Had my 1st midwife appointment today, lots of filling in forms, she also took bloods, I need to have a liver function test as I was quite poorly last time.
Found out we do get a 12 week scan here now!
I'm having a nuchal fold scan, checks for Downs and Edwards syndrome risks.

Have also been referred to a consultant because of previous liver problem, so i'm sure I will be like a pin cushion by the end of it!

Am telling people now, I'm 10 weeks on Saturday, can't wait anylonger!

Nausea and sore boobs are wearing off now too, and I'm not quite as exhausted!!

Have a nice weekend ladiesxx

Pidge · 21/02/2008 17:04

So, so, so lovely to hear the positive scan stories.

Also hugely cheered by tales of diminishing MS for some of you. Sorry to those where it's not fading yet. I'm just counting the days till it might start to recede. My days are ok, the nausea is constant but manageable, but come 6 o'clock it really kicks in and by 8pm I have to be lying in bed in the dark or I would be being sick. If I lie really still and quiet it seems to be enough to stop me throwing up. Am not quite 9 weeks so I have a while to go.

Its making me smile that lots of your ms is now starting to fade. Its given me hope .
However, I am still in the midst of it at the mo.
Just been to pick up the meteclopramide from the chemist. I also brought some vitamin B6 while I was there.
I cant remember who recommended this, so does anyone know what dose I should take? The pharmasist did know. The Doc did not either.

Cheers guys x

Morning all
Biglips I too average 8 pm. I am looking forward to being "capable" of staying up later.
Thanks Leo. My tablets are 50 mg. My husband had a bit of a wobble at me last night, that I could take a pill that has not even been prescribed. Oh, and one where I never knew the dose . Think I might just check it out with the midwife today as the doc has not got a clue.
Hope you all have a lovely day. Our blooming days are on the way x

potxola · 22/02/2008 08:36

Namamufin. I am taking pregnacare. It is 5 pounds and it has all the vitamines you need, even the folic acid. If you want something extra like the fish oils, you can take also mumomega pregnancy. I am taking this too because I don't eat that much fish.

I am sorry to know that some of you are still sick. when you feel like that, it does not help remembering that it is only a phase, but that is what it is.

All the best for the coming scans girls.

I have something to tell you for all of you first time mums to look forward to.
This is my second pregnancy and because my son was 10 pounds and very overdue, I was very big and with this one my ligaments and tummy stretched a lot and I looked pregnant at 6 weeks. Well the good news it is that because of that, yesterday I strarted to feel the baby moving. I remember very weel the feeling from the first time. It is like a butterfly moving inside you and making waves that move other organs inside you body. It sort of tickles you from the inside. With my first I felt the movements
at 14 weeks.
So .......girls, look forward to that. It will happen.
Have a great weekend

hopefully · 22/02/2008 09:12

Just sat here waiting for the midwife to come. Is nice that she comes to my house! The joys of being in a rural area with less pressure on resources I guess.

Am theoretically doing work at home today, but it's not going very efficiently so far...

Oooh, am going to tell my boss on monday, quite scared! One of my colleagues handed in her notice on monday, and my boss was heard to say, "well if Hopefully leaves now, I'm screwed." Cue lots of guilt on my part..

kel78 · 22/02/2008 09:28

Woke up last night about 12 ish with really sharp pains in my stomach, was already alittle concerned about the lack of ms and tiredness alot better so this worried me even more. Pains lasted about 20 mins or so but with no bleeding. Rang doctors today and luckily the midwife is in today for an hr so I am going to drop in at 11.30 ish to see if she can hear baby hb or not. Not sure if she will be able to at 10.5 weeks.
DP thinks im just worrying as usual and that I should calm dowm but after 3 mc u kind of do. Guess men dont get that as its our bodies that feel the pains and ms so we know when smething is different. Anyway fingers crossed all will be ok and good luck for those of you with scans today.

potxola · 22/02/2008 09:57

Hi Kel78, PLEASE, PLEASE, RELAX
That is exactly what happened to me last week, I had paind without bleeding. I was also 10 weeks and also have had 2 mc. AND EVERYTHING IT IS FINE.It might be too early to hear the heartbeat. If at all worried ask for a scan.
You are Ok

hopefully · 22/02/2008 10:47

Kel78, try to think positive thoughts, I'm sure it will all be fine. Let us know what they say at the doc's.

I think my midwife may be a vampire. She has seriously taken about 12 pints of blood from me. I'm a complete needle coward (she pointed out that the birth might be a little more painful), and looked the other way, and when i looked back she had about 6 massive vials full of blood!

PrePG · 22/02/2008 10:59

kel78 I'm not as far along as you, but I had lots of cramping and occasionaly sharp pains in the beginning (about 3-4 weeks) and more this week (8 weeks)- also to the point of it waking me up in the wee hours. I really think it's just your body changing and stretching. The only major and constant symptom I've had since finding out is sore breasts. Good luck at the midwife today.

Was mine and DH's 4th wedding anniversary yesterday! Can't believe it's been that long, seems to have flown by. We had a lovely dinner out last night - DH and I both had the tasting menu, but had to ask for them to change the pate and the cheese! DH spoke to the waiter and told him 'my wife is pregnant' and we both kind of did this nervous giggle! Guess we're just not used to saying it out loud yet!
