Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

Mega-congrats Feelingpositive, did you get a picture?

potxola · 20/02/2008 14:30

Well, well, well. Well done hopefully. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!. I was waiting for you.
It is huge homemade pizza for me tonight (husband makes them. I have never tried to) to celebrate our scans.

potxola · 20/02/2008 14:34

Sorry, with all the excitement i made a mistake.
what I meant was:
CONGRATULATIONS feelingpositive. Well done!!!!!!!
I will still have the pizza to celebrate it all.

Sunshinemummy · 20/02/2008 14:42

Congrats all you Wednesday scan girls. What brilliant news. Just me tomorrow I think?

Hopefully, when I had 12 week scan with DS, scanner put probe thing on me and I said really loudly "oh my god it's a baby!" DP and scanner burst out laughing but I also couldn't get over the fact it looked more like a person and less like the prawn I was ecpecting

I'm under the Chelsea and Westminster.

LittleConnie · 20/02/2008 14:52

congrats to you feelingpositive
and good luck for tomorrow sunshinemummy
i'm under st mary's in paddington, but might be moving to ealing so not sure what will happen then...
can it really be healthy to be eating 8 meals a day? my tummy certainly thinks so...

digitalgirl · 20/02/2008 14:54

littleConnie am in N London and have chosen the Whittington. The labour ward building is crumbling and ancient, but I've heard nothing but high praise for the midwives there. My friend's sister had twins there who had to go into ICU, it's one-to-one care for the little fellas. So I know we'd be in safe hands.

Congrats also to FP! It's a good scan day today

Urgh, they've been doing roadworks outside our office, all I can smell is diesel and tar. Not nice.

charitygirl · 20/02/2008 15:22

Thanks for bday wishes, lovely pregnant ladies! I ws planning to eat my own bodyweight in roast chicken at my parents', but I have a horrendous cold and can;t taste much which is MADDENING!

Hoping they'll have laid on a cheeky half glass of bubbly too. The boyfriend is taking me away on a mysterious weekend which is FAB as I just could not face organising a party with friends when I wont be drinking, and would flake out at 10.30, but can't tell them why. So 'he's whisking me away...' was the perfect excuse.

Mind you, have tons of social events with REALLY good friends coming up before the scan. May have to start disclosing with lots of gloomy caveats forbidding peopke from getting too excited yet.

TreadmillMom · 20/02/2008 15:40

Unfortunately theowlwhowasafraidofthedark I think its the statutory 1 month in lieu with 1 week for every year of employ (3 years), will be confirmed in half an hour along with any in group job opportunities.
I've spent the last hour job-hunting online and the part time salaries are so dire aren't they? I started this job full time so my salary was pro rated, which made it VERY attractive indeed.
Funnily enough, I'm not stressed (yet)!

hopefully · 20/02/2008 15:45

Sunshinemummy, the baby has actually been referred to as the prawn until this point, as that what it looked like at the private scan, but it somehow seems rude to call it that now that it looks like a human! Good luck for tomorrow, sure all will be fine.

Congrats to you too FP. So glad that everyone's having good news, long may it continue.

Working from home is the best thing ever! I have probably spent about half as much time working as I do in a normal day, but have achieved twice as much - I never realised I spent so much time gossiping with work colleagues and surfing the net! Will have to mention this to the boss when I put in my flexible working request next week after informing her I'm pregnant.

surelyyoucantbeserious · 20/02/2008 15:47

Linseeds work!! Hurrah

I am St Georges Tooting. Although might be moving before hand in which case not sure..... although we will still be living in south london. But first husband has to get a job, then we can think about buying a flat. It never rains but it pours, right?!

Still haven't heard anything from midwife for booking appts....

Congrats all on scan results!

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 20/02/2008 15:51

TreadmillMom hope your meeting goes ok, it seems much easier to move from an existing full time job to part time, rather than get a new part time job, if that makes sense.

I'm in a fluster because I have yet more bleeding, still brownish but it just makes me feel so worried. Had a scan on monday (9+4 then), saw the heartbeat and there was no signs of any problems but just can't stand the constant worry. I'm constantly worried that I'm going to miscarry and tbh I'm worried that it might be like this the entire pregnancy. Argh, if someone could only tell me why I would feel better.

surelyyoucantbeserious · 20/02/2008 15:57

sunshine I hope my scan is like your first! hilarious!

I was offered Chelsea & West but went for Tooting... hmm was that a snap decision? Anyone have experience of St Georges?

feelingpositive · 20/02/2008 16:27

Big thanks for all the congratulation everybody. Lollipop I did get three pics, still so hard to believe it is a baby as you can only just see the stumps of arms and legs . Makes me realise just how much growing there is to do between now and 12 weeks!

owl I know bleeding is distressing, but it is really reassuring that you had a positive scan at 9+4, I think there is a much lower chance that thinks can go wrong after 8 weeks.. and even lower after 10. fingers crossed for you, but I am sure everything will be fine.

x fp

Sunshinemummy · 20/02/2008 16:38

Owl - I'm kind of in the same situation as you. After first bleed and good scan, I then beld brown blood a week later for a good four days (with lots of associated cramping). When the bleeding started I went back to hospital and they said my cervix was closed, and with the brown blood, all was OK. They didn't scan me again. I've not really stopped worrying and am hoping all is OK with scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed for us both.

Surely, I was offered St George's and C&W. Reason I went with C&W is that I called them both for a look round and C&W were really helpful and booked me in for a few days later. St George's were really unhelpful and that, along with the fact that I liked the C&W when we visited, put me off. Dr told me that in terms of tables, care etc. they are much of a muchness and that he and his colleagues had sampled both.

mamamufin · 20/02/2008 17:03

Hi Ladies. Congratulations to all of the scanned ones today. (one each).
Happy birthday Charity girl
Good luck for tomorrow sunshine
The tread has moved so fast today, I have had a house full of toddlers and friends. They have really looked after me. One friend is nearly a reflexologist, so I had a lovely hour long treatment . However, afterwards she told me that that I should expect a "healing crisis" before I feel the benefit . (Just what I need!).
Oh dear ds has just gone limp and heavy leaning on me. uh oh He is asleeping! Cute but look at the time. Got to go.............

Kagey · 20/02/2008 20:47

Hi all,

Congrats to all who have had their scans, and fingers crossed for those still waiting that it will be soon.

After bleating for ages that I had not heard anything from my local hospital (Queen Mary's), I have finally got a date for next Wednesday. The wait it blinking awful As far as I can gather, the midwife booking appt is for about two weeks later.

Also got some good advice from a Doctor regarding 'sluggish systems' and fruit is not helping - if you are desperately bloated and haven't been for a while, go to the pharmacist for Lactulose liquid rather than a remedy like senakot (apparently that is a no-no).

Take care,
K

icklegem · 20/02/2008 21:40

Evening ladies,

good news on all the positive scan results, huge congrats to you all

Just back from Centre Parcs. Exhausting really. Sickness really kicked in the day we left to travel up there so that wasn't much fun really. Then on Sunday/Monday had bleeding

It stopped and I have been feeling extremely sick and dizzy today to the point of not being able to move, not easy in school holidays and 3 small lo's to run around after, but hopefully that's a good sign. I have been booked for a scan on Monday morning so a bit of a nerve wracking wait. Will be exactly 9weeks then, so should this be a normal scan or do you think it will have to be an internal one??

Hope you're all feeling well, Gem x

nauseous · 21/02/2008 08:40

Congrats on the scans, ladies!!! Its great to hear your stories. TMM, sorry to hear about the redundancy, that always turns life upside down a bit. I hope you get a new job soon. Have good not too sicky days everyone!

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark be reassured by your scan.
I bleed in both pregnancies.
Ds1 I spotted at 6 weeks and it was bright red, he?s 4 now.
DS2 TMI coming up, at 11 weeks whilst at work I had a ?gush? of bright red blood, clots and all. The toilet cubicle was splattered and I had to throw my clothes away, I?m not kidding, I even collected some of the bigger clots thinking one must be baby. Anyway, went to A&E after a drive home to clean up and after being there for 5 hours of nothing, they gave me a scan and there he was, perfect, he?s now 2.
Until joining musnet I?ve only just learnt that what I experienced was an Implantation Bleed, imagine that, its taken 4 years for me to know it?s a normal part of early pregnancy.
So far, touch wood, no bleeds but if I have one, I think I?ll be allot calmer.
I?m so tired today, DH woke me twice snoring, DS2 woke me up climbing into our bed, I want to run away and hide to get some sleep so my ?lovely? family won?t keep waking me up. Grrrrrrrr.
Pavement pounding the agencies clutching my CV tomorrow, not looking forward to having to play the smiley professional whilst answering they?re inane and predictable questions.

splishsplosh · 21/02/2008 09:58

Haven't had chance to read through everything yet, but wanted to check on the scanees from yesterday - so glad everyone had good news, esp FP cos what we have both been through - so big congratulations to you all

thanks sunshinemummy for your thoughs about my mum

Had a lovely day in Brighton yesterday, making sandcastles in the playground, and a visit to the sealife centre, all lovely and warm and sunny too.

digitalgirl · 21/02/2008 10:02

icklegem I think by 9 weeks you won't need an internal. I needed an internal at 5 weeks, but at 7 weeks they found the baby within seconds. And even if you do, it doesn't hurt at all, much less uncomfortable than a smear.

Left a message with the hospital asking for a scan date, have no idea if they will call me back. Will call tomorrow if I don't hear back today.

surelyyoucantbeserious · 21/02/2008 10:14

Thanks Kagey. I'm on linseeds daily now on my cereal and it seems to be working but nice to have another alternative with the Lactulose. Thought I was starting to show but think I was just bloated

sunshine thanks for your comments on the hospitals. Intrigued to see what st george's is like on march 10th for scan. Counting the days...

kirstygem · 21/02/2008 10:16

Oh I am so excited about my scan on Monday. Also am 12 weeks this week and actually starting to feel like a normal human being again. Been up past half 9 every night this week which was impossible 2/3 weeks ago.
Am extremely hungry and thirsty all the time

hopefully · 21/02/2008 10:37

I am also beginning to be able to contemplate life beyond 9pm - occasionally. The nausea seems to be coming for shorter periods and worse though, which I'm hoping is a prelude to it leaving me alone.

OMG, how am I going to resist going shopping now that I have an all clear? My poor bank balance...
