So pleased for you theowl You are now due on the same day as me . Have you guys taken into account the leapyear when getting you edd?, will it make a difference . Do you know how you got so far out with the due date? I hope this doesnt hapen to me as I want the sickness gone now. On a plus side with you you should not be showing much at all. It took me 20 weeks to show with my first .
Despite losing weight I am truly showing already. Dont get me wrong I have never had a flat stomach but I have developed a bit of an "overhang" the last couple of weeks , and its solid to touch.
Oh sunshine you are so brave if my ds spewed on me I could not cope. (I take it it was him and not you?). Anyway gotta muster energy and positive vibes for my ds swimming lesson now. Chat later x

Sunshinemummy, I did show my husband this thread and he is very pleased I am in touch with all of you. Only a woman who is in the same stages of pregnancy as you can really, really understand you and the feed back always makes you feel you are not alone.

Digital, that is so wrong. You should not have to wait just because she, (I can believe a doctor woman can do that)felt negative about your pregnancy. I am really furious.
Please phone whoever you need to chase the scan date, complain and change doctor based on what has happened to you.

Hi MrsElle28 I turned into total baby bore when pregnant with DD1 and havent stopped since, she is 21 months. I really wonder what I used to talk about.
Everyone at school commenting on my bump today a has really popped out over half term week. I convinced myself it looks like proper baby bump no and not just overhang from christmas. Am just waiting now for my pupils to work up courage to ask me as I cant see how they will not have noticed. Had moment of panic of this morning as thought work trousers were not going to fasten.

Thanks for being so welcoming and lovely everyone.

I've been so miserable and sickly for the last few weeks, it's finally nice to go somewhere and feel part of a group who are feeling some of the same things. I've been reading everyone's threads and can really understand what some of you are going through.

Fingers crossed that some of us start to feel better over the next few weeks.

I know this is a wierd q, but does anyone know how long the first scan lasts for? As in, how long does it take?

How weird MrsElle28, I was just wondering that. I'm trying to persuade my boss to allow me to work from home on wednesday, as even if the scan only lasts a few minutes I'll still only get to work at about 12:30...

Owl - I'm in Wandsworth too! DS is at Eveline nursery which is lovely.

I haven't joined NCT either yet. Intend to do so after scan on Thursday (obv. providing all is well). I've been before but, I've only lived in Wandsworth since last May and, apart from one mate, don't know anyone, so hoping to meet some people.

I have bought a couple of things for Baloo. I had a whole project plan for DS so everything was ready for him for a good six weeks before he was born!

I've had my 12 week scan today and all is well. Quite a relief to see the heart beating and the baby moving about. I've got a new due date so I've updated the list.

Have got that chat tomorrow with the ex-colleague who wants to offer me a job. Wondering if the offer will still be there once I tell him I'm pregnant.
Would quite like a new job as I'm rather bored in this one and could do with a bit of a mental challenge to take my mind off symptoms which may or may not be there.

This is my third day of not spotting , and I really haven't felt that sick recently. I've read that only 60% of women get MS, but it seems like ALL of you have been puking for England!

digitalgirl, I've had a fair bit of feeling nauseous but I've only been properly sick twice. Was the same in my first pregnancy if I remember correctly.

DG I haven't puked ever in 2 whole pregnancies and 9weeks so far!
so sorry to hear about what your GP did, pretty outrageous really. It's funny that people were reassuring you not to be too sensitive and you were right! I guess it's very hard to believe a professional would do that.

MrsElle and hopefully from memory it is hard to predict how long the first scan will take, especially if you having the nuchal fold test. For if the baby is not lying in the right direction, you may have to go for a walk to shake him up a bit in the hope that he will turn, then come back a bit later... If all is in the right position, I would say 20 mins??

Sorry, I know that is not much help to you.

MrsElle, my scan took about 20 minutes which included being sent to the loo cause my bladder was too full, and lying on my side and trying to get baby into the right position. In the end they couldn't get the nuchal done. The measurements and checking took about 5-10 minutes. So I'd say if you plan for 30 minutes then you should be ok.

Welcome to Mrselle - I'd also add about scan times that you might not get seen on time as well, so maybe add on a bit of extra time. Or maybe it's just my local hospital that delight in making appointments that bear little resemblance to when you'll be seen

I'm so glad your scan was fine sassafrass, you must feel relieved that you've got through the most risky time now

Mamamufin - you poor thing, you must feel awful. Are you managing to keep hydrated? One of my friends had to be admitted to hospital a couple of times for hg. I really hope your vomiting doesn't last for much longer. Leonie - sorry to hear you're suffering too.
I've only thrown up once, on Saturday morning, that was horrible enough. dd came and patted my back and offered me tissues and a hug (while not-so-moved-out partner slumbered peacefully on)

My diet is truly appalling at the moment, just can't fancy cooking or even thinking about proper healthy food.

I have my 8 week appointment with the GP on Thursday - I must find some small receptacle to wee in... I hate having to do that wee in a bottle business

I am also finding difficult eating like we are suppose to eat when pregnant. We can only do our best.
And about drinking so much water...... I never manage the 2 litres a day.
