@chillichillioil the flu jab didn't affect me but the whooping cough one wiped me out! I had it on Tues and I needed a nap Tues afternoon and yesterday and I felt so rubbish. Starting to feel better today! I guess having both at the same time would make you even more tired.

Jexi · 01/12/2022 14:28

Just had our 20 week scan, she said all seems OK but she wants me to have a rescan in 2 weeks time because the cerebellum is just under the 5th percentile.

Hopefully next two weeks to quick cause I'll no doubt be googling until then 🙈

Margo34 · 01/12/2022 16:05

@SearchingTheSkies another teacher here, primary in EYFS this year. One child told me a few weeks ago my tummy was big and asked why, and actually another asked last week if I had a baby in my tummy because my tummy is big. Told them I had a big lunch which they totally believed 🤣 The other 28 don't seem to have noticed. Parents haven't been told yet, will be after Christmas, so I'll tell chn then.

@chillichillioil I had my Flu and whooping cough jabs 2 days apart, was fine for both except the heavy dead arm feeling! Hope it passes quickly for you!

LauraA31 · 01/12/2022 18:44

Evening ladies!

Had my whooping cough injection, the nurse has scared me as she said she wouldn’t normally like to give the jab before 20 weeks as if my 20 week scan goes wrong she wouldn’t want me to blame the injection…… then she said she often gives the jab at 16 weeks so don’t know why she said what she did but never mind! Will just be thinking the worst now for a week 🤦🏼‍♀️

Also came out the doctors and twisted my ankle on the curb and took a right tumble, ive pulled the bottom of my forming bump and it’s tender but at least i didn’t fall on her! I was getting little pains at the bottom of my tummy right hand side for the last few days but now i know i will put 2 and 2 together and think bad!
Boyfriend has ordered me a burger for tea from the local burger specialist take away (it’s beaaaaautiful!) so going to have some nice tea, not eaten from there since my positive test in August, then getting in bed to nurse my numb arm and find a new series ha! X

simplythequest · 01/12/2022 19:12

@SearchingTheSkies primary teacher here: parents were told a couple of weeks ago , as I've had a lot of time of for illness due to pregnancy. If I hadn't, they'd not have been told just yet, although would be happening soon as I'm about 21 weeks. I do have a very needy class (in a huge range of ways) and some pretty angst-y parents too. Frankly, it's been nice that children and parents know - had the most appalling day today and struggled through until I go home, but had some of my children (Year 6s!) asking if I was okay, giving me hugs etc. They have lots of questions and I'm happy to answer most of them... so far!

Honestly, though, if we hadn't told parents yet, they would have guessed by now unless i hid it with the right clothes. Parents round us know what pregnancy looks like 😆

SavedByGraceAlone · 01/12/2022 20:48

Thank you everyone for the well wishes yesterday! Sorry I didn't write with an update - I was a bit overwhelmed by the good news. All went well, praise God, and a seemingly healthy baby boy is wriggling in there! 💙 Whoever predicted it on here got it right!
I'm so excited. After 4 consecutive miscarriages, I'm still in disbelief that we got this far. I know anything can happen still and we can't see to the end of the hour, let alone to April, but it's going well so far. Can't quite believe we might have a baby boy in our arms next year - that would be such a dream!

Glad to hear all is well with you both, @Cuppsoupmonster and @Tubbytele!

BeingHappy · 02/12/2022 00:41

Thank you for all the sweet messages about my COVID recovery. I am finally feeling better but it has been a dreadful week. The worst of the symptoms was excruciating rib/intercostal muscle pain while coughing. @Skylark1990 @Balloffluff123 @AliceinSlumberland @Tubbytele @Skylark1990
The going to A&E was a bit of an error on the midwife's part who told me to go to A&E - A&E did some checks and all was ok thankfully.

How are your symptoms now @Longbin? Hope you're OK!

@Cuppasoupmonster so pleased all the results went well 💙

@RackJussells finally think I can feel the baby move! Feels either like a tightening in the area the baby is moving or like something is slowly pushing across - very unusual sensations!

BeingHappy · 02/12/2022 00:47

@SavedByGraceAlone that is wonderful news 💙🤗

Lovely to hear about everybody's happy scans recently too 😊

@chillichillioil I had my whooping cough and flu jab on the same day and felt a bit weak for the rest of the day. I had a nap and a painful arm for a few days..

LauraA31 · 02/12/2022 03:24

Early morning ladies!

Does anybody know (or have advice) about having scans in the same week? My 20 week scan is booked for Wednesday the 7th where i will be 19+5, but i bled last weekend and then again on Monday and again tonight.. every time i go to the loo there is a bit of blood but nothing on a pad.

Naturally im really worried because ive not felt baby and fell yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️
NHS have said they wouldn’t be concerned again at this stage and advised to monitor and wait for my scan Wednesday but i know deep down im going to struggle and worry every day.

Boyfriend mentioned booking another scan private to put my mind at ease, i have found appointments for today at a clinic near us but im now worried about having two ultrasounds in 5 days of each other… Has anybody got any experience of doing this or would the best be to wait until next week? I can’t bring forward my NHS scan either!

SprinGarden · 02/12/2022 05:52

Congratulations with everyones scans..

Had a consultant appt as I m 40 and ivf... She s recommended I get induced at 39wks or have c section, she doesn't want me to go over, due to the risks of still birth increasing. I was hoping to last till 40 wks but if they suggest I should go sooner I feel that I should. Plus they said baby s heart will be monitored throughout if I go for induction. Due date is the 9th but I guess I m due on the 2nd now.

chillichillioil · 02/12/2022 07:51

@LauraA31 hey lovely, I've been under the consultant and had 2 scans in a week twice now. Had my 20 week scan, then a day later they gave me a cervix scan but also looked at the baby. I think it's fine x

When are you all planning on decorating/buying stuff? I keep saying I want to wait but I'm too excited now haha xxx

Balloffluff123 · 02/12/2022 08:02

@BeingHappy so glad you are feeling better! Sounds like it was awful!

@chillichillioil I have always told myself I would be really restrained and not buy anything until the last ten weeks however I’m too excited! This week We bought cot and pram and a few little baby clothes! 💕

@Cuppasoupmonster What wonderful news about your little boy! What a huge relief for you. I’m so sorry you had to go through such an awful ordeal though. Will the Company that did the original test reimburse you in any way?

My partner felt the baby move last night which is very exciting and very sweet! Like lots of people I haven’t been getting very regular movements and it only seems to be this week that I have felt he/she every day or so. I have been trying hard not to worry and be patient so it was a lovely surprise. I am 22+3.

xalexandra · 02/12/2022 08:16

@LauraA31 maybe wait a week unless the bleeding gets heavier? It's hard to say isn't it but you just want to be sure everything is ok 🙏🏼 so do whatever you feel is right for you!

xalexandra · 02/12/2022 08:17

My scan is at 3pm today, can't believe the day is actually here as it's always felt so long away! Very nervous though and 3pm is a bit of a rubbish time as I'm just waiting all day which doesn't help my anxiety. Hopefully all will be fine and I've felt baby kick in the last two days! 🙏🏼

AliceinSlumberland · 02/12/2022 08:27

@LauraA31 I had a private scan the day after my 12 week scan as part the of NIPT, scanner wasn’t concerned at all, I’d get one if it would reassure you 💕

Good luck @xalexandra thats such a long wait! Longggg day ahead but I hope it goes quickly for you.

My movement is still less but I have felt him move and I know I saw him move loads of tbe 20 week scan and I couldn’t feel any of it so I’m going to blame the placenta haha.

Skylark1990 · 02/12/2022 08:27

@LauraA31 I think having two in a week is ok, especially if not done all the time! I've got a scan today for nipt and also had a scan Mon with the consultant xx

LauraA31 · 02/12/2022 08:44

Thank you all so much!
I have booked one for this afternoon, i will let the NHS know in case they want to amend my appointment next week but by the sounds of it i doubt they will- thinking of it they scanned me at EPU twice in one week at the start so it must be ok!

I know id not be able to rest so going to go get the little girl checked out 🙂

Good luck @xalexandra and @Skylark1990 for both your scans today! Xx

Hannah223344 · 02/12/2022 09:48

Good luck with all the scans today! Just been back for the 2nd part of our 20wk scan as baby wouldn't let them see his lower spine last week - after a milkybar, a bottle of coke and some sprinting up/down the stairs he finally turned and let the sonographer see what they needed to see!

My Kim K/Skims dress arrived yesterday, can honestly say it's worth the hype, looked so lovely on, really comfy and flattering of bump, would recommend!

Longbin · 02/12/2022 15:29

@Hannah223344 did you size up? I got a bumpsuit dress in about 2 sizes too small so the time has come for me to repurchase one

Hannah223344 · 02/12/2022 15:37

@Longbin I've went for my normal size in Skims (M) and dress fits really nicely 😃

allfurcoatnoknickers · 02/12/2022 16:12

I'm starting to show a little bit, so I'm having to get reaaaalllyyy creative with the outfits for work or the next week or so😂.

LauraA31 · 02/12/2022 17:13

Afternoon all :)

We had our scan this afternoon and little girl is absolutely fine! Gender was double checked and confirmed again she is a girl, three white clear lines on the ultrasound.

She was wriggling away, kicking me like crazy and it’s madness i can’t feel anything because of the placenta! The main thing is she is okay, no reason for the bleed found again but advised to take it easy in the coming days.. so happy and so relieved 💕

PiggyBean · 02/12/2022 17:30

@LauraA31 glad to hear your scan went well.

I had mine today, team baby 💕

CausingKaos · 02/12/2022 19:11

ancienthouse · 01/12/2022 11:41

@Cuppasoupmonster that's brilliant news, glad your little boy is healthy!

I don't think I've posted my due date on here - 12th April and it's a boy.

I'm starting to worry I won't make it until April now though!

Same due date but mines a girl 💓

xalexandra · 03/12/2022 15:47

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and everything seems all fine and normal ✨ and I cannot believe it... as every single person I know and even people on this group said BOY. Not one person ever said girl. But to my surprise - it's a baby girl!!!! 💕 I always said before I was pregnant I imagined myself more with a little girl. Either way though I was so happy and still in shock that it's not a boy!

My stomach is a little sore and crampy today after the ultrasound. I had to walk round for half hour because baby would not move off it's stomach, luckily my walking around worked and got all the measurements needed and everything looks healthy!

I was quite surprised, as the sonographer was telling me each part she was showing me, but when she finished, she just went "all done, I'll print this out and you can go!" And I expected a bit more of an explanation/going into detail about what's she's just seen and if it was all normal. I asked her "so it's everything ok and normal then?" And she said yep everything looked good! But was a little dissatisfied that she didn't say much. Again - my first pregnancy so didn't know what to expect (maybe because it's my first, I expect a lot of detail and feel the need to be explained things properly). Maybe it's just normal and they don't go into detail about anything but yes - a happy and healthy baby girl so far 💕💕✨✨✨

Can't believe it! 😮‍💨 ... little baby waving!
