@Margo34 I had my Covid booster and flu jab on the same day about a month ago, felt rough for about 48 hours but I did feel rough after my first booster last year too😅

Tubbytele · 27/11/2022 01:24

@BeingHappy how are you feeling now? I had covid with my first when I was 6 weeks pregnant, hope you're feeling better.

@Cuppasoupmonster thinking of you and hope all goes well on Monday. Take it easy.

I think my little one is going through night terrors. Feel so useless in comforting him as nothing helps until we take him down and let him properly wake up. Any mums experienced this before? :(

RackJussells · 27/11/2022 05:56

BeingHappy · 23/11/2022 09:28

@RackJussells totally empathise.. I'm now 21 weeks and still not sure if what I'm feeling is the bubs moving. And if that is the baby moving then it's moving very infrequently. My 20 week scan was all healthy but in the scan the baby was described as being very stubborn 😅 as they refused to move even when the nurse got me to jiggle and shake about.

I'm also posterior so beginning to feel a tiny bit worried. I am a little on the big side though so I am wondering whether that could be the reason...

Good morning BeingHappy,

Apologies for a delayed reply! How are you movements now? I’m wide awake at 5am thinking about baby’s movements.

I am sure I felt two quick kicks yesterday but I was out rushing about literally all day as my daughter turns 7 today, so I didn’t have time to stop and concentrate (especially as I was driving!)

I don’t recall seeing anything with my daughter at 18 weeks, but then like someone else said, I feel some really strong movements sporadically, but then nothing for ages - so I’m like, why don’t I feel you all the time?! xxx

RackJussells · 27/11/2022 05:58

*feeling not seeing 😂 shouldn’t reply this early xx

Skylark1990 · 27/11/2022 09:29

@Cuppasoupmonster sorry this has all been so stressful, agree they should refund you for the nipt. Would it be worth speaking to the consultant again before the amnio? Because they shouldn't have said that and put the fear into you especially as it's so incredibly rare to be anything at all. I understand wanting the clarity. An amnio is a big decision with risks to weigh up etc, I'm sure you've thought about it all and you're doing what feels right, but I'm really angry on your behalf that they have put this fear into you. Sending hugs. I really hope you get more clarity asap and can settle in and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. X@Margo34 I haven't had my COVID booster, I have had covid twice and also had the 3 original jabs. The jabs always make me feel horrible. One of my MC was just after I had covid the second time so I have v negative association's with it and I'm scared of both the vaccine and the illness! But having the jab doesn't seem to stop you getting it, or not a guarantee anyway. It obviously can make symptoms milder which is great. But I'm hoping having had it twice plus 3 jabs will make me have it more mildly even without a second booster... It's a v hard decision though. But my midwife didn't even mention it I had to ask and she was just like, it's your choice 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did have flu and whooping cough last week.

xalexandra · 27/11/2022 09:30

@BeingHappy I had covid at 10 weeks and it just heightened my symptoms and was very out of breath! Took me weeks to properly recover but lots of people don't suffer too bad, lots of water and paracetamol! How are you feeling now?

Skylark1990 · 27/11/2022 09:31

@BeingHappy hope you're ok! Vast majority who get covid when pregnant are totally fine as are their babies. Please take care and let us know how you're going x

Skylark1990 · 27/11/2022 09:32

@Biscuitsplease I wouldn't worry about the cot sheets yet, you can always get custom made for not too expensive, and also baby night not even like the cot and you may end up cosleeping or using a floor bed! So much can change that we don't expect 😅

There is a website where you can get custom made mattresses and they also do sheets xx

Margo34 · 27/11/2022 11:18

@Skylark1990 I'm the same as you, had the original 3 jabs and also had covid twice and also have negative associations with as well because I had one of my MC shortly after having covid too! I think that's why I'm on the fence. But on the other hand, I work in a school in a Reception class where I get sneezed on in the face so perhaps I should have the jab? Oh it's so hard to know what to do for the best.

ancienthouse · 27/11/2022 11:48

@Skylark1990 i was all for getting the covid booster but now I'm not so sure. I've had covid once already early this pregnancy having already had 3 vaccines.
The thing with my cervix is making me rethink getting it. The first 2 jabs messed up my periods and bleeding so I'm wary of anything that might affect my cervix even more!

Lid88 · 27/11/2022 15:03

Hi everyone,

Well its been 3 weeks and I still can’t shift this cough - it’s really getting me down because I pee everytime I have a coughing fit 😩

How is everyone? I’ve had my 4th covid jab at the same time as the flu jab in my 1st trimester, I was on the fence but I just went for it in the end.

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow at 8am and I’m beside myself with worry which is ridiculous as I was never this scared with my DD. I think it’s because my best friend had to TMFR after hers last year and I went through the heart break with her, it’s stuck with me. I also keep seeing one magpie every bloody day which is taunting me! Anyway, not too long to wait now, just a sleepless night ahead. I’m 20 weeks and still being sick most days even though I still take medication, I tried one day without it and it was a disaster, so my sickness has lasted longer than it did with my DD too, which is so frustrating.

@Cuppasoupmonster I’m thinking of you - I can’t believe a test which is supposed to give you peace of mind has caused more worry than you knew possible, I’m sure everything will be fine and the stupid NIPT company f’d up, but I’ve still got everything crossed for you with the amino. X

Melissa2023 · 27/11/2022 16:45

Hi ladies just checking in - had my 20 week scan and all was well aside from my very stubborn boy refusing to shift out of my pelvis so they could look at his spine so rebooked to do that but the sonographer had no concerns and said it was just a formality. I personally don't mind another opportunity to see him wiggling about and sucking his thumb!

Thinking of you @Lid88 let us know how you get on tomorrow - I'm sure we all understand the sudden bouts of worry. I'm also still taking antisickness daily so glad to know I'm not alone in the boat at least xx

Lid88 · 27/11/2022 16:51

Thanks @Melissa2023 I keep waiting for the 2nd trimester energy to kick in but today I’ve napped twice and not left the house 😂I wish this sickness would pass so I could feel more human.

Thanks, I’ll update you all tomorrow x

LauraA31 · 27/11/2022 17:40

@Lid88 I feel your pain on the cough! I have had mine for 6 weeks and not been able to shift it. Had a course of antibiotics because doctor thought chest infection which did nothing! Out of hours GP prescribed me an inhaler which seems to have worked a little bit but the cough is still there 🤦🏼‍♀️
Good luck for tomorrow too! X

Hope everybody is okay and had a decent weekend! I’m off to a concert tonight with the sister which should be nice to take my mind off things for a little, had two bleeds this weekend and although very small still scary.. spoke with the midwife assessment team where i am having the baby and they weren’t too concerned, but advised if it happens again to ring and they’ll have me in..
They concerned me a bit about movement because they kept coming back to feeling little girl move on the phone, only 18 weeks though so trying to not let it bother me that much!
Had a few small cramps too this weekend but putting that down to growth as they weren’t horrific.

I am not sleeping either, got horrible pain in my hips through the night which is lovely, pregnancy pillow isn’t helping much either but is stopping me rolling on my back. Fingers crossed for a good night sleep tonight when we get home 😂

MamaMenna · 27/11/2022 19:22

@Lid88 good luck for tomorrow, that's a terrible thing your friend went through so it seems entirely to be expected that you feel anxious, though as you say, everything most likely to be no different than with your first baby.
@LauraA31 18 weeks tomorrow and I'm only a maybe as to whether I've felt baby moving yet and as you say still early, I think your midwives are just being cautious about the need to monitor movements despite that fact that it's a bit early for you. Not very helpful of them really! Enjoy the concert.

Chocolat · 27/11/2022 19:44

@Cuppasoupmonster Thinking of you, hope you get your answers soon.

im also getting frustrated re movements. 22 weeks tomorrow and I think I can feel something down below? I thought it was bowel gas but I don’t think my bowel is there anymore, like the area under my belly button. Is that where others have felt movement?

Longbin · 27/11/2022 19:48

The movements I can feel are quite low down or at the sides

Biscuitsplease · 27/11/2022 19:53

I'm 22w and for the last few weeks have been able to feel movements when lying down before bed, quite low down, but in the last week I can feel movements if sitting down and standing and overall they're feeling stronger

CausingKaos · 27/11/2022 22:45

Has anyone else had bleeds through pregnancy? I’m 20+4 with my first pregnancy and just had one today, bright red but very little over perhaps 2 hours. Been into hospital and checked out-they’re happy with everything, they say it’s ‘just one of them things’….I’m happy the check up went well, but it’s unnerving not finding any cause.

Just looking to hear if anyone else has experienced the same really (especially if the same in previous, healthy pregnancies)

Sending hugs to all who need them.

LauraA31 · 27/11/2022 23:40

@CausingKaos hello! i have bled every couple of weeks since 5 week and this is my first pregnancy too, hospital is fantastic but have never found a cause for me and just said i will probably be one of the ladies who bleeds throughout pregnancy.

Im 18 weeks and had my most recent bleed this weekend, phoned the hospital midwife assessment ward and they told me to monitor and ring back if the bleeding gets worse or happens again.. had two days of spotting on and off and then nothing today (fingers crossed it stops again!)
I was advised by my midwife to always ring the hospital no matter how small the bleed, which i do 🙂

AliceinSlumberland · 28/11/2022 08:10

Morning friends, hope you all had a restful weekend. 20 week scan for us this morning, feeling very nervous. I’m feeling movements now but they’re so intermittent and fleeting, literally by the type I notice it it’s gone, and definitely no real pattern. Hopefully it’s just that he’s still small and can tuck himself in small places.

@Cuppasoupmonster thinking of you today, hope everything goes okay and you get some reassurance x

ancienthouse · 28/11/2022 09:06

Good luck to everyone with 20 week scans today, I hope you all get good news!

@Cuppasoupmonster I hope your amnio goes well x

Lid88 · 28/11/2022 09:08

Morning all, well I was an absolute bag of nerves and barely slept last night with awful dreams - but we’ve had our 20 week scan and all is fine. Baby was bouncing around like crazy and to my absolute shock is another girl! 💞

Skylark1990 · 28/11/2022 09:40

@Cuppasoupmonster good luck today lovely 🌹

Good luck to all those with 20 week scans! @Lid88 wonderful news 💗 💞

I have my follow up scan this afternoon to check on the kidneys and do thorough check if baby with the consultant, so am also nervous but hoping it's good news and reassuring... Could really do with some worry free weeks!!!
