EllieG · 15/01/2008 14:48

Hi meandbump! [waves]
can't help you much as am first timer myself and nowhere near Essex, but is nice to have you here x

Am better today thanks lorisparkle - think the belt is helping and I am eating very lightly so the weird pains are not too bad. Good to know it might just be a weird pg thing that will go though! I don't fancy gall stones much.

lemonaid - aaawwwwww.....such lovely pics [goes all gooey]

TLSM · 15/01/2008 15:04

i got a few of my nappies from here they seem to go cheaper than ebay and you can pay via paypal www.usednappies.co.uk/index.php

PortAndLemon · 15/01/2008 15:15

eBay UK won't officially sell used nappies any more (seriously crap policy IMO). Haven't looked into the Mothercare thing.

Yes, Ashford Babybond -- went there with DS too, so odd going back with him as a nearly-3-yo this time.

I never really leaked before DS was born but in the first few months afterwards I used to sleep on a towel (also hate wearing bra in bed) and that worked out OK, leakage-wise.

sagitta · 15/01/2008 15:19

Hi Meandbump, you've got the same due date as me! I'm not a first timer, but I am a crap mum, so no tips I'm afraid! Welcome.
I think paranoidmummy is in colchester.

I've got reusables for DD, but when she was first born I used a laundry service and got all the nappies and wraps from their library, so I don't have any newborn/ small stuff. And I can't quite face buying a load more...can I afford a laundry service again, I wonder...

TLSM · 15/01/2008 15:19

PAL did you go for the Gold scheme with the CD rom we have ours there on the 2nd am so excited although at my 20 week scan on the NHS she flipped the machine over to 4d i was so shocked that they had the function!

sagitta · 15/01/2008 15:20

PandL - why won't ebay sell second hand nappies? That's crazy...

PortAndLemon · 15/01/2008 15:36

We went for the 4D Bonding Scan option I (don't remember Gold being mentioned as a term) which got us checklist, sexing of baby (that was optional), 4D scan DVD (supposed to be ten minutes, but we got nearly 25), an A4 enlargement in a photomount, six A6 prints and a CD?ROM of around 23 images.

eBay have decided selling used nappies is unhygienic and on a par with selling used underwear (which they won't do either). Completely crazy. The US adopted the same policy for a while but AFAIK they backed down after a couple of months.

EllieG · 15/01/2008 15:38

Ooo I forgot I have booked a lovely mum-to-be massage at a posh new spa that's just opened - it's a bit extravagent but I am owe some back pay and I figure I need some stress relief! Am very excited, cos you can use the pool and lovely spa areas too!
Plus am having my hair done on sat so soon I will no longer feel like frump-girl, but lovely chilled and nice-hair girl.

And I have spoken to my Dad and sorted him out for a bit and seen my Gran and her district nurse and got her a referral to physio and audiology, so everything is under control

Soph73 · 15/01/2008 15:54

Ooo, sounds great EllieG. Pleased you got things sorted out Me&Bump - one thing I can say is that you won´t need half the stuff you are given/end up buying. I´m dreading & excited about the birth cos I´m going for a natural birth after a c-section with DS1.

VictorianSqualor · 15/01/2008 16:00

Everything went fine at the hospital little Alex is growing nicely and my blood rpessure etc is all fine, hopefully it will stay this way and my VBA2C wont be too contested!!

Is that an old list?? The kids ages on it are wrong!I'll rectify mine later, but DD is now 7 and DS is 3.
