Will keep everything crossed for you hatrick, out of interest why do you hate the P&T?

I have pretty much decided on it, it's either that or a Mutsy Urban Rider with Duo Seat. My problem is DD2 will be 2 1/2 when DB3 is born so not quite old enough to walk, ideally I need a single pram with a toddler seat so the first few months she can be strapped in and then I plan to use the front seat for the baby and the back seat as a kind of extra seat for DD2 if she gets tired of walking or I need to contain her. I will also have 4 yo DD1 to contend with and am worried about being out on my own with all 3. Have even thought about getting a Maclaren double for the first few months then swapping to a single after that. Agree the Bugaboo looks lovely would definitely be getting one if I was having my first.

marymalone - hello and welcome unfortunately I understand what you are going through I had a mc at 10 weeks in August, have only felt able to enjoy this pregnancy the past few weeks as I had bleeding at 10 weeks in this one as well and had to wait until 13 weeks for a scan to make sure all was well.

isaidno · 05/02/2008 07:43

good luck for today hatrick - let us know how you get on.

Feel in a better mood here today!

Welcome back Mary Malone.

All this talk of prams is getting me excited. I wasn't supposed to be getting one this time, as I have several! But I really like the look of the petite star zia (like quinny, but reclines so suitable from birth) and it's only £100. I also want to get a new sling, because I don't like the baby bjorn we've already got.

Minkus · 05/02/2008 09:08

I am in a dilemma over pushchairs too! Have been quite happy with the idea of using our old one. DH said last night though that if I wanted to get a new one then that was ok as long as it wasn't mega expensive. Now I am all in a quandry! I haven't even looked at any, I've been so controlled that even a recent trip to mothercare did not encourage me to look at them. Am going to have a busy time over the next few weeks having a think about it all and choosing!

MissChika · 05/02/2008 09:57

Good luck for today Hatrick - hope all goes well.

Thanks for all the feedback re bugaboos. DP and I had kind of decided on it but as we're new to all this just weren't sure we were making a good choice (particularly as DP just likes the aesthetics of it compared to other buggies!!). The new one is called the bugaboo bee and it is just a buggie without the carrycot. It's also half the price of the other bugaboos at £359.

MissMcGoo · 05/02/2008 10:22

Hello - Can I jump in?
I'm new to MN but am so impressed with the good vibes you all send each other and I know we all need them from time to time.

I am 15 weeks, DD 26th July (but I usually go over) with LO#3. Have a DS (5yo)and a DD (2yo). Have I got all the abbreviations right?!

Right - there's the introduction, I look forward to getting to know you all!

lazyhippo · 05/02/2008 10:38

Hi All
Hello and congratulations to Purplejennyrose and MissMcGoo, and welcome back to Marymalone.
Lots of good news with scans-TJuice + Foghorn, and thinking of you today Hatrick x
I'm so impressed by the energy levels of you doing all the decorating and spring cleaning. Still very tired and sleepy here, although haven't been physically sick since Friday so heres hoping at least that part's settling!
I hope all of you feeling lousy have better days soon
xx

Minkus · 05/02/2008 12:58

Lazyhippo thats really good news about the sickness- same here too (not vomited since Thursday)- doesn't it make a difference

Hello MissMcgoo, glad you've joined us- there's a list a few pages back with all our due dates/ ages of older children/hometowns etc- cut and paste away!

Good luck Hatrick.

Did you speak to your midwife in the end kitty about dd's acrobatics on your tum?

Hope everyone is well. I didn't end up doing any spring cleaning at all yesterday as got far too caught up with eating cheesecake with my heavily pregnant friend and gossiping with my sister on the phone .

Hence have already sorted out ds's room completely, packed away all clothes too small/toys n books outgrown etc and after lunch will be starting on the spare room . DS will be going in there in a couple of months, well before the baby arrives, so need to sort some room out! Does nesting really start this early?

Thats such good news Hatrick

sweetkitty · 05/02/2008 14:34

hatrick - thats great news am so happy for you, and a willy waving at you as well, sounds like this little boy is going to be a handful (aren't they all though )

minkus - haven't spoken to MW as baby was doing it's own acrobatics last night and has been wriggling away today so guess all must be well. Will be protecting my tummy for now on as well as shouting "no bouncing on Mummy!" DD2 is an absolute terror she is so physical, we are getting her a trampoline for her birthday but waiting until the weather gets nicer that should curb her bouncing a bit.

MrsMcGoo - hello and welcome don't forget to add your stats to the stats list too.

isaidno - I know I lurve talking about prams too. My plan is to get the P&T then once DD2 is out a pram and walking (eek!) I will sell it and get a Maclaren or something nice and light to shove in the boot.

isaidno · 05/02/2008 14:46

great news hatrick!
kitty - glad to hear your tummy is okay!

I am def getting that buggy - DH should be getting an unexpected bonus from work, and I'm sure he can be persuaded to part with some of it...

sweetkitty · 05/02/2008 14:52

isaidno - thanks this baby is going mad right now maybe it's in practice for the playfights with DD2 in the future! Had a look at the Petite Star Zia and I agree it looks really good, are you finding out the sex as the Cranberry looks lovely?

isaidno · 05/02/2008 16:39

I want the cranberry! Scan on Monday, so fingers crossed it's not a shy baby!

As for movements this one has fits and starts - I think I've felt nopthing for ages, then I notice a little wriggle. Last night in bed I accused DH of poking me - but it must have been baby!

sweetkitty · 05/02/2008 17:27

well heres a deal you have the cranberry and I will have the teal

sweetkitty · 05/02/2008 21:45

where is everyone tonight?

pigleychez · 05/02/2008 22:03

Im here.... Just!

Just woke up after a 2 hour doze on the sofa.

DH took me out for dinner which was great but i think i overindulged abit

Came home feeling abit sick then suddenly was knackered! Was passed out on the sofa by 7.30.
Maybe baby was having a growth spurt!

Just been up for a shower which has perked me up abit.

How is everyone?

marymalone · 05/02/2008 22:07

Hello again and thanks for the warm welcome! So glad your scan went well hatrick, but why do you hate the p&t??
Reassuring to hear about the movement, then none, then more movement, like isaidno, thats exactly what i feel, and today i saw mw and we listened to heartbeat, which was lovely and made me feel a lot better....as i still get bouts of paranoia.
paulayates......think best price for p&t is either practicalpushchairs.co.uk or kiddicare.co.uk check it out near the time you want to buy as various special offers for the different colours and doubles kit included etc. Bear in mind the raincover doesn't always come as part of the deal (though think practicalpushchairs has great deal currently with doubles kit and raincover) Both reputable companies anyhow, have friends who've used both in the past. hth!

shortshafe · 05/02/2008 22:29

Hi all,

hatrick - fab news about the scan, was thinking about you earlier today, had everything crossed for you all.

welcome back marymalone and welcone to missmcgoo!

I'm very about you all nesting already, I can't muster any enthusiasm for anything -and have loads of decorating to do!

am watching the buggy debate with interest, dd will be 19 months when lo is born - so I'll need a double. Think I'm leaning towards the jane powertwin pro, anyone any opinions?

JODIEhavingababy · 05/02/2008 22:34

Evening all.

Welcome all newcomers [snile]

I too am watching this double buggy debate with interest, I really don't know what to look for, all I know is I want a tandem and don't want to (can't) spend alot, so P & T out for me I'm starting to get dazzled by it all......

Great news on scan Hatrick, glad it's all OK.

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 05/02/2008 22:43

thanks mary
i was wondering about importing it tbh....

did that with my nipper

EEC · 06/02/2008 09:19

Morning all. Welcome MissMcGoo and Marymalone. Pleased to hear about your wriggling lo Kitty. They really are pretty safe in there aren't they.

Great news about scan Hatrick! So spleased for you.

Also pleased to hear about babies moving in fits and starts. I haven't really felt it at all this week (nearly 18 weeks), whereas last week was dancing away merrily. Book said that it should be really active now, so can't help being concerned can you?

Am about you all knowing sex of baby. DH definitely doesn't want to know, and I thought I was OK with that but am now really getting keen. It would be really bad of me to find out and not tell him wouldn't it? Yes, I know it would. Oh well. I really don't mind which this time which is why I think I want to know, iygwim.

Lovely sunshine here today, which raises the spirits somewhat.

JODIEhavingababy · 06/02/2008 11:38

Morning,

We have a lovely day here too, can't wait for spring!

EEC - My 'bean' only move periodically too, I feel it for about 3 days in a row, and then nothing for another three days. (Im' 17 weeks) I think this is normal as they still have loads of room to swim around in there, just wait, another 6-7 weeks we'll be begging for a bit of rest! Our ribs will never forgive us!

RUMPEL · 06/02/2008 13:57

Hi All,

WELCOME MissMcGoo and Marymalon et al.

HATRICK - phew! What a relief You can choose a name now too

ISAIDNO - I have the Petite Star Zia in teal - it is great for shopping as it is mega light - the main reason I got it is 'cos it fits in the boot of my mini , without folding chairs etc. Not very robust for anything other than shopping though. I have a Quinny Buzz I use for walks etc and the bigger car.

Who makes the nipper ladies?

Had my blood test yesterday - 3 weeks for results. Am not worried about spina bifida but slightly concerned about Downs 'cos of my age. Also heard LO's heartbeat was great. This wee one is a real gymnast and is always on the move - the MW had probs trying to find the heartbeat 'cos he/she was moving so much.

Well must go as I am off for a back and shoulder massage - am desperate as my shoulders and neck have been really tense and sore - kept me awake the other night. I used to get treatments regularly ( we did recipricols for each other) but since I moved I don't know anyone and I have to pay now. Have decided to miss the acupuncture for a while and have some hands on treatments instead - soothes your nervous system and very healing for your mind and body.

Take care allxxxx

isaidno · 06/02/2008 17:25

Thanks Rumpel - I already have a big pram which I will use for walks; the zia would be for the car, mostly shopping / school run! I don't do anything like cross country!

Glad to hear others have erratic patterns of movement too. I try not to be paranoid, but I think it comes with the hormones!
