Speaking of sex (SK wakes up) apparently another old wives tale, if you are horny during pregnancy it's a boy (testosterone and all that) if you are not it's a girl. Certainly true in my case both times, mum of boys let me know if you think it's true?

Speaking of stitches (as you do) I had a second degree tear with DD1 as she came out too fast with her hand first and tore me badly, it wasn't that bad afterwards, she was 6lbs 3ozs, DD2 was 9lbs 3ozs and I never tore at all, MWs could see the tear starting to go and slowed things down and supported the scar. I wrote about my fear of tearing in my birth plan and they already knew about it.

min912 - about the car tyre, I think I will have a creme egg addiction I had one with DD1 it's a wonder she never ended up covered in creme egg when she came out. Coule never eat just the one though (they are quite small) sometimes had 3 in a row

twinkle - ouch on your births, I take it you will be booked in for a planned section as well with the twins?

Poledra - hello and welcome another one with 2 girls already

isaidno - lol at new car sex better not tell my DP that one

hello to everyone else

FoghornLeghorn · 24/01/2008 17:45

Sex - I am surprisingly 'up for it' this time, whereas the last times it was pretty much a no go from start to finish unless it was a special occasion

SK - I am going to write in my birth plan about my stitches this time, I didn't think about it before. I was in alot of pain after DD2, the stiches seemed to take longer than the birth itself and having legs in stirrups for such a long time was anything but comfortable. It took a good couple of weeks for them to heal properly too

Gilly - glad you've managed to get up and about

EEC · 24/01/2008 18:44

Poor Dh has been banking on an increased libido after 1st trimester, but no go unfortunately. Still have terrible ms and no energy at all. Can't help feeling a bit guilty though. Might have to just have a go soon...

FoghornLeghorn · 24/01/2008 18:49

Here try these :

Quiz 1
Quiz 2

Mine have said boy both time - 90% boy quiz 1, 62% boy quiz 2

EEC · 24/01/2008 19:02

Oooh - I'm having a girl 80% 65% Although after the 4 magpies I'm not sure!

cass66 · 24/01/2008 19:04

hello all. am going to post this in pregnancy as well, but thought I'd ask you lot too. I used to go bellydancing before falling preg, now I'm feeling a bit more energetic, any reason why I can't restart it now until I get too fat????

there are some movements I would avoid, like stomach undulations (camels), but otherwise????? any suggestions. ta.

isaidno · 24/01/2008 20:13

Foggy - not very convincing here - 60% chance of a girl on quiz 1 and 57% girl on quiz 2.

cass - I would have thought some gentle belly shaking would be fine!

Poledra · 24/01/2008 20:50

52% chance of a girl - so basically there's a more or less equal chance of it being either gender. I think we all knew that already...
On the bright side, if it is a girl, it'll save me a fortune in clothes

sweetkitty · 24/01/2008 21:03

Quiz 1 54% chance of a girl
Quiz 2 60% chance of a girl

I think I will go off and start a different pregnancy = different sexes thread to ask mums of both did the feel different or the same.

I felt the same at the start with both DDs but carried them both completely differently.

cass66 · 24/01/2008 21:45

about 70% chance of a girl in both quizzes. thought I'll prob have another girl anyway, so not really surprised!

I did the Quiz....both say 70 % girl!!! yipeee (got 2 boys now )

It made me chuckle though...imagine living by old wives tales and superstitions!!! None of it tallied up with previous pregnancies either but it told me i'm having a girl so i'll believe it, Hee Hee

Find out in 3 weeks anyway hopefully.

How are you all doing?

I'm KNACKERED!!! Never felt like this before, every day is such a struggle and usually ends in tears to my poor DH with a big 'poor me this is too hard routine'....hormones hey.

TJuice · 24/01/2008 23:22

cass -they offer maternity bellydancing here, so i'm thinking that as long as the instructor knows that you are pg, it should be good exercise? never done it though . . .

Minkus · 25/01/2008 09:04

Oooh 60% girl on first one, 78% second one!

Really wierd, with ds I was utterly convinced he was a boy from about 10 weeks. This time I have no idea whatsever though!

Cass belly dancing sounds really cool- have you been doing it long?

Hi everyone else x

Mummywannabe · 25/01/2008 09:24

73% and 56% girl. Been convinved its a boy but had vivid dream about a baby girl so not so sure!

JODIEhavingababy · 25/01/2008 10:44

Just re-posted the list... Hopefully everyone is on it again now, and for some reason our home towns had dropped off too.....

Hope everyone is OK? Exciting news, I too felt Baby kick last night, and not just a flutter! It properly kicked my hand!!! am 15+2 so alot earlier than last time, but lovely all the same. Am seeing my midwife next week for my 16week check, bloods and heartbeat etc, then before I know it will be the scan at 20 weeks, where we can then (hopefully) see what 'flavour' we are having!! It's going so quickly.... Will be July before we know it ladies!

MissChika · 25/01/2008 13:12

Hey everyone!

How are you all doing? I'm feeling quite lively today - for a change!!

Just did the quizzes:
Quiz 1: 44% boy/56% girl
Quiz 2: 42% boy/58% girl

Think I'm having a hermaphrodite

JODIEhavingababy · 25/01/2008 13:38

Afternoon Miss Chika x

Just done those quizzes and results are (drum roll please!)

It's a girl!
Quiz 1 - 67% Girl
Quiz 2 73% girl

I particularly like the 'fact' that I look like crap because 'she' is stealing my looks! Poor lamb, there isn't much to steal!

EEC · 25/01/2008 13:56

My looks were stolen 9 years ago by DD, and she never gave them back!

MissChika · 25/01/2008 14:46

You've got to love those old wives' tales - they certainly make the whole baby flavour thing more interesting!

Still waiting to feel flutterings/movements - I'm 17 + 3. V envious of those who've already experienced this

MrsHOP · 25/01/2008 14:55

re. flutterings - me neither!

I just think I've got serious wind at the mo

I think I was about 45% boy 55% girl on both...

Feeling very chipper indeed today - happy that it is the weekend soon, hooray!

Trying not to listen to the NHS maternity 'crisis' on the news...hoping all our hospitals are gooduns!

MissChika · 25/01/2008 15:47

I'm very happy that it's the weekend too. It's been a very long week for some reason.

Yeah, I'm avoiding stories about NHS maternity crises especially ones saying how London hospitals are the worst!

ScottishSusan · 25/01/2008 15:52

Hi All

I did the quizes before I went to bed last night and both were marginally in favour of a girl. of course that would be good as that would mean dd would have 1 sister and 4 brothers and not 5 brothers. Anyway ... after quiz had a really weird dream. I went for 20wk scan and asked sex of baby...midwife looked and said "it looks like it's got velcro boy bits that haven't joined yet...do you want them attached or shall we remove them?".....I don't remember answering...then midwife put hand into scan monitor took out baby, removed bits and put "her" back....I then woke up ....Ha! Ha! What does it mean? Weird or what?
(did ahve SEX before sleep though for first time in ages....maybe that caused the weird dream? )

twinkle1 · 25/01/2008 18:34

Hmmm the quizzes were hard to do for twins!!
they both came out in favour of girls but is that for 1 baby or both??????
good fun though
twinkle
