Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

starlight - Thanks, they haven't really confirmed anything either way. Doctor said he was reassured that a sac was found in the womb but didn't know much about ectopics (wtf ) and nurse said that there was a chance a twin was in the tube but unlikely! But who knows the doctor was rubbish so don't really have much faith in what he said. Just have to wait and see I suppose its just so hard not knowing and every twinge gets me worried.

Gracie14 · 06/01/2008 17:24

starlight and lockets - Thanks for your kind words. Yes the doctor was rubbish I didn't like him from the start, when the scan was being done he didn't say anything or explain anything to me I had to keep asking which I'm sure he didn't like

I'm not in any pain now, slight twinges that come and go which I'm sure could just be normal its just worrying that its mainly one side. I have felt nauseous on and off today which is the first time and boobs still sore. Will have to wait and see. I have been googling ectopic (see I am mad!!!) and there are so many variations. But trying to hold onto the fact that a sac was seen in the womb.

I will let you know how scan goes tomorrow afternoon.

Skimty · 06/01/2008 18:06

I'm still a bit shocked we had a poss chemical pregnancy/poss evap line last month and it made us decide to try for no. 2. Was never expecting to get 'duffo' (as DH puts it) straight away.

Hi Skimty welcome to you and congratulations.

Gracie I have a lump in my throat reading your posts for today. What a rubbish Saturday night that must have been. I may as well tell the sun not to shine, but try not to worry. I know that's really hard. Sounds like the doctor was some kind of idiot anyway - I don't like the sound of him AT ALL. Would you like to take us all in your pocket with you to your scan tomorrow? If you put your hand in there we can hold it for extra support. Could your aches be on one side because that's where the embryo is? I don't know, that's just a guess - but hoping you're okay tomorrow. Don't forget, we'll all be thinking about you.

Feel quite sick and fed up today - also feel quite fat. I'm obsessing about food because eating makes me feel better, but it's really hard to eat a whole meal, so I keep wondering aloud whether I should eat something else. This is turning DH into the food police! I ate two biscuits yesterday and he got really worried! I wasn't worried at all about the TWO BOTTLES of wine that he drank - it's so unfair! Then he says unhelpful things like, "Some women get really out of shape when they're pregnant and I don't want that to happen to you." I'm only a size 12/14 - it sounds like he thinks I'm going to turn into one of the rolly polies!! Grrr!!

Hmm, is anyone else noticing that they're a bit short tempered? About to ring my Mum, don't want to tell her I'm pregnant yet, so might just say I'm pre-menstrual! I'm not sure I can take much fuss until the sickness wears off a bit... hope it won't be long, this is quite tedious...

hopefully · 06/01/2008 19:18

I've been a bit short with a few people excitable, but nothing noticeably bad yet. Maybe I'm just always such a grump it doesn't show! Am feeling fat already too. Want the baby to be bigger than the 1.25mm the baby book claims so I can blame it!

Have just been working out when to tell the various parents. Have basically decided to tell my mum at 7 weeks and dp's mum at 8 weeks, and the fathers (both lots of parents divorced and remarried, so telling them also means telling their partners) after the 12 week scan. Am slightly worried dp's mum won't be able not to blab, but he is really anti telling my mum loads before his. Difficult negotiations to even give my mum and extra week!

Dragonhart · 06/01/2008 19:52

Oh Gracie. It must be so hard having to wait. Doctors and midwives seem to forget how important it is to us when we have a prob. Hope you have a nice person scanning tom and that it all goes well. xxx

emalushka · 06/01/2008 20:06

Oh my goodness. Sorry to gatecrash, but a Sep 2008 thread!!
My daughter was born on September 14th 2007 and I can't believe how much time has flown by. Good luck everyone and enjoy being pregnant. Being a mum is amazing... it's the best thing in the world ever xx

meglet · 06/01/2008 20:07

oh Gracie . I hope everything is ok tomorrow and you get a good doc who can communicate properly. I will be thinking of you. x

DebitheScot · 06/01/2008 21:32

Oh no Gracie, that sounds awful. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Can't believe JackBlackRoady gatecrashed us! We'll be sending each other telepathic messages at work as she's one of only 3 people who knows. Yes I know 3 will seem like a lot to some of you but I had to tell a couple of people, partly coz I wanted to and partly coz I thought someone in my dept should know (I'm a science teacher so she'll (she's a technician) tell me if there's any chemicals and stuff I shouldn't be using) and I thought it might be an idea to tell the person I go running with.

Sassafrass · 06/01/2008 21:43

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Gracie.

I got rather silly today and despite morning sickness, sore boobs and no period for over 2 weeks I went out and got yet another pregnancy test. This time I got a digital one. I must say I really liked seeing it in writing on the test, "pregnant". I think I might be over my test addiction for a little while now.

I start my new job in two days. I'm a bit nervous. I'm taking over a class for a lady who is going on maternity leave and will be working closely with another teacher who is pregnant. I haven't told anyone at work yet that I'm pregnant too since I didn't know when I was offered the job. Hopefully the head will be understanding once I tell her (after first scan) and at least I'll be able to work all the way up to summer holidays and I don't think they needed me after that so...

anyways, I'll stop blabbering and go have a nice bath. OOh, also have to share that my dd weed 3 times on the potty today. I would love to have her out of nappies before this child is born.

Excitable - Its lovely to know your all with me and I will be holding onto that this afternoon. Thanks so much for your kind words it brought tears to my eyes.

I'm feeling abit more positive today, not sure why but can only be a good thing.

Welcome Skimty - Congrats hun

hopefully · 07/01/2008 09:15

Happy Monday everyone!

Gracie, I really hope it all goes well for you today.

I'm feeling really weird this morning. I've already had a bowl of porridge at 6.30am and a breakfast bar thing just now, but I've got a feeling in my gut like I'm so hungry I feel sick. Anhyone know what I mean? I suppose I should probably eat more, but I've not exactly scrimped today! Was terrified it was something awful happening, but have decided it is in fact hunger. how lame.

kirstygem · 07/01/2008 10:25

Morning ladies
Gracie thinking of you this morning, do let us know when you find out that everything is OK, which you will do.
Interesting that a few teachers on here Sassafrass and Debthescot I am also a teacher. First day with kids back today and feel may already have been bit snappy with some of the.
Feeling very classy as had to stop and be sick in a lay by on the way to work today. Now just have churning stomach and horrid taste in my mouth.
Totally agree with the feel sick but hungry at same time feeling

ALLwillBeRevealed · 07/01/2008 13:18

I know what you all mean about the hunger. With my last pg, I scoffed and scoffed because it kept the nausea away, but when the nausea ended, I kept scoffing . By the end, I would eat a huge bowl of porridge and be hungry 30 mins later. I don't have any nausea yet, but last time it didn't start until I was around 6 weeks, so still time yet.

I went to the doc this morning. I was all prepared and brought a sample but she said they don't test routinely any more if the patient is absolutely sure. My EDD is 7/9 but I am likely to end up with a cs, so good chance that they will do it around 1st sept. Doc didn't think I would even get a midwife appointment and next thing will be the scan at 12 weeks.

Gracie - hope you had good news today

Biglips · 07/01/2008 13:20

hiya all!!

Gracie - fingers cross for you today. i cant believe about that doctor doesnt know anything!!!

Well i did another test on Saturday to check as i had a spare CB digital test and also one moreebay cheapie test stick. It was the same and the line on the ebay cheapie one is getting stronger.

Yes i am ssoooo hungry...i dont remember being this hungry last time!! and YES short-tempered...i must remember to calm down!!

ooh Dragonheart - i used to live in Warrington myself a few years ago on Crosfield Road, opposite the town hall. (im originally from the wirral) so hello to u too. Im a SAHM too.

Biglips · 07/01/2008 13:26

oh and im getting sick burps all day long...never had that in my last one as just tiredness - that was it...no cravings, no morning sickness, no headaches...blah blah blah...just tiredness.

i had sore boobs 2 days after my ov day (26th) till 30th, then on New Year Eve (31st) they were killing me as throbbing stabbing pains that lasted for 24 hours, then it had calmed right down now (just a bit sore but i can touch them but cant touch my nips as they are mega sensitive!!)

hopefully · 07/01/2008 13:56

I can't go anywhere near my boobs at the moment. They are way way to sensitive. If I put on my bra roughly in the morning I end up yelping. DP is not amused!

I can't remember whether my doc told me to go back to him when i was 8 weeks and he would refer me to the midwife then, or whether I was meant to make an appt directly with the midwife. Will have to phone surgery and ask, but feel a bit stupid

It's very quiet on here today. We need more new people! How did we all have such a cluster of bfps over xmas, and then only one or two since?

Biglips · 07/01/2008 15:07

Hopefully...usually you go see your docs to tell them ya pg and then your docs will refer you to the midwife for a scan. eg when i was first pg, i went to the docs when i was 6-7 weeks pg (i didnt know i was pg) and he referred me to the hosp to see the midwife for a scan. i was then 11 weeks and 4 days pg...it was a long wait!

ive called my docs for me to tell my docs on Wed

Hi,

I'm back and all is well

They found a sac (in the right place!!), with a heartbeat!! It was amazing, they weren't sure why I was getting the pain but that I shouldn't worry about ectopic because it isn't that.

They think I am between 5+4 and 5+6 today (I thought 6 weeks exactly) so not far off but all okay at the moment I am so relieved.

Thankyou all so much for your support - having hardly told anyone in RL its been a lonely weekend, but thats over now. I still can't believe it, Yipee Obviously still early days and now need to book in with the midwife in the next couple of weeks for scan at 12 weeks

hopefully · 07/01/2008 16:47

Gracie, that's such incredibly good news! Am really happy for you that it's all ok. Must have amazing to know there's a heartbeat already.
