Hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
madmouse · 20/01/2008 21:22

Can't believe all of you trimming lady gardens. Mine are normally fully shaved weekly, but have not been able to do so for months and to be honest am not that bothered, I mean the state of it by the time lo is out makes it fairly futile, no?

PuppyDogEyes, I wonder whether you did the best thing (although in the end there is only one person who decide what the best thing is - you!) by refusing a sweep. It is a lot more easy on the body and the labour I think than pessaries and hormone drips . I suppose you can always contact your mw if you change your mind.

KT no more posts from you, is it all happening now? . Going to have an early night, hope for an announcement in the morning

I must say I have had my first 'whinge whinge I am bored tired and want this baby out' day even though I am not due for another ten days. It is just the day after my second false alarm and it makes me realise how eager I am to meet my little boy! It also did not help that it was a very uninspiring day, have not been out and so my feet are the size of cars and I am so uncomfy. Oh well, boot up backside, stop whingeing now

pussycatmomma · 20/01/2008 21:30

madmouse, you are allowed to whinge in the last couple of weeks, it is in the rules

hi all, hope the list is ok. lots of people overdue in theory but think we just haven't heard from them in a while.

no more developments here, boo hiss.
lots of discharge, tmi, but only the one pinkish bit this morning that got me excited.
and lots of weirdish feelings that are more than BH but still not proper contractions. been trying lots of visualisation to open cervix and bring baby down which does cause more funny feelings but is it all in my head?!
had a curry (again!) and if cold doesn't get in the way will try and persuade dh to come to bed the same time as me....
find it really hard to get to sleep anyway atm so a bit of the other might help there too!!!

sorry no personals, taken me ages to play with list, hi to all
By ayrshirelolo on Sat 19-Jan-08 20:30:46
Hi all!
Lovely name, Lucky and she is really beautiful! How are you healing up yourself?
Congratulations Lilyloo!!! very of 3 pushes and no stitches, and Martha is a gorgeous name!
Hope everone is ok, and that it is all kicking off for you Katy! I've spent most of today trying to sleep, with limited success! Last night dh was snoring loads and i had terrible heartburn and was a bit sore, so about 2.30am i decamped to the couch - dsd here this weekend so spare room occupied too!! Needless to say i got very little sleep and seriously freaked out dh who woke up at 7 and i wasn't there!!! So wee darling came through and sent me to bed for the day, however we had a noisy house today, dd, dsd, bil and nephew here for afternoon to playwith work on car and stay for dinner so dh says if necessary he'll have couch tonight, aw what a sweetie!! probably won't let him though, he's been fantastic recently and is probably as tired as i am!
MrsMcJ, i know what you mean about the clothes thing!! the only thing that feels comfy right now is joggy bottoms and i refuse to leave the house in them!!! I have one stretchy long black skirt that kind of does for anything - and everything - right now and i'm heartily sick of it!!! Apart from that it's kind of difficult to feel glam when you're the size of a bus!!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok, can't wait for the next hatching!! lolo x
By LuckySalem on Sat 19-Jan-08 20:52:40
Katy - You're getting the same as me. Go swimming!! Worked wonders for me!

My cut is healing ok.... got told off by the midwives today for not taking it easy enough. I left the hospital yesterday anaemic. Should have been over 11 and was only 7 ahh well.

My brain is getting over everything as well now which is good. I can visualise what happened and why and it makes me feel so much better for it.

The main thing I remember is having such conviction to have my baby at home and pushing through the pain all the way through until they said hospital. After that I lost the plot, I just remember near enough screaming all the way until they put the epidural in (which btw, BRILLIANT)

BFing is going ok although she'll only take to the left side so might have to end up expressing the other side (MW's think she can't cope with my nipple on that side)

Cats have taken ok to Aaliyah, Salem has just been lying underneath her moses basket and it looks like he's guarding her.
By katyt1 on Sat 19-Jan-08 21:02:40
lucky - yes i am getting twitchy about time passing....swimming, well i might give it another go when ds is at nursery but my spd stops me doing breaststroke, i'm now too unfit to do much front crawl and i feel silly just sitting there.... still will think about it.

lolo - hope you get more sleep tonight. let dh have a rough night and take the bed
on the clothes front, i have one pair of jeans that need braces to hold up that i wear all the time. am going to have to wash them at some point and find something to wear until they dry!
luckily not going anywhere other than toddler groups and other mums houses. had a posh do 2 days before ds was born and hired a dress for that.
at my biggest weightwise & sizewise which isn't helping with mood either

pinke - god, 41 weeks, how are you feeling? hope stomach had calmed down properly.

nicky - hope you get the time with dh that you want. give it a week and you'll be getting desperate like the rest of us!
By LuckySalem on Sat 19-Jan-08 21:07:35
Katy - I can't swim, I just kinda stood in the shallow end holding the railing and flapping my legs about. Then I sat in the jacuzzi with the jets blasting my lower back.
By mum2sons on Sat 19-Jan-08 22:11:39
Congratulations Lucky! Aaliyah is such a pretty name as well. It sounds like you did amazingly, I hope you are healing well too.

And congratulations to Lilyloo as well, with little Martha (gorgeous name as well!)
So many girls and pretty names here!

I think I maybe last on the list at this rate!! Although having horrible pains in my bum today and lots of BHs and also fanjo pains! Lovely! Nothing regular and no shows or anything exciting like that. Am sooo sick of the "av you ad it yet" texts and phone calls !

Sleep well ladies and babies xxx
By katyt1 on Sun 20-Jan-08 05:02:10
well ladies, things are finally starting here. having a contraction every 10mins so long way to go i'm sure but am preparing by refueling! 1 bowl of frosties down, will need to get something else in a mo.
think the combo of curry & sex may have done the trick !

glad that dh is home, have to wake him up at some point i guess, but not quite sure what we'll do with ds on a sunday. had great plans for extra time at nursery, 'first friend' i know was out on the p*ss last night, 'second' has her parents for the weekend, will wait and see how it goes for now. have and hour-ish before he wakes up, maybe i shd send rush signals !

hi mum2sons

Oh fingers crossed for you Katy!!
By madmouse on Sun 20-Jan-08 12:15:19
Ooh KT, any more news? I hope that the fact you have not posted since means that things are indeed happening for you and that you find a good solution for your dc. So exciting

Am of you and a bit . Thought it was all happening for me too. Had regular if mild contractions from about 3am for most of the night although I did some sleeping with the help of paracetamol. They started with my bump going rock hard, then period cramp starting (and actually hurting) and lasting for about a minute. I was just waiting for them to get a lot stronger but instead, all gone! I think I had the last one at about 9am . Oh well, have decided that 38+4 is too early for sex (and DH has no sex drive at the mo anyhow)curry pineapple etc. Mousling clearly is not ready yet. He was busy enough though, bouncing and squirming between each contraction.
By katyt1 on Sun 20-Jan-08 13:07:09
thanks lucky & madmouse, things are still going here but slowed down. if you'd asked me at 6am i would have guaranteed baby by lunchtime! then around 8 everything slowed right down. had mw appt anyway at 11 and she says engaged (woohoo) and expects me to be calling her back here later.
friend out drinking had night out cancelled and have another on standby so shd be no prob with ds, nay get them to take him this afternoon anyway so we can concentrate. dh thinks i might be 'holding back' cos he's running around distracting me. the mw said maybe.
ouch another one

sorry madmouse - hope yours restart soon

great pics lucky

Hi to all you ladies and congrats to all of those who have had their beautiful babies
I have not posted for a long time but I have tried to keep up to date with everything that has been happening and have made sure I have looked at all the birth stories and gorgeous pics of all the newborns!!
I was due on 14/01 and had a v uneventful week when LO decided not to make an apearance. Went to midwife appt on Thurs for a sweep only to be told that cervix completely closed . Am now going in to hosp today to begin induction process. Is quite soon considering only 41 weeks but I have not been sleeping at all. Feel emotionally drained because of it and absolutely desperate to meet LO. Also DH had to book his paternity leave and has now already used up one week although has managed to arrange a weeks holiday at other end...want him to be able to spend as much time as poss with LO before he is back at work and to be honest feel like I will need him around as much as poss while I get the hang of this motherhood lark!!
Will post birth info when I am back out of hosp.
Wishing all of you still waiting (and being more patient than me!!) labour vibes.
Thinking of you all

bluebell82 · 21/01/2008 09:09

Morning ladies- I NEED THIS BABY OUT- TODAY!!!!!

Have eaten hot curry, eaten pineapple, drank gallons of raspberry leaf tea, had sex (yikes), had a glass of wine... bounced on birthing ball for 4 hours straight, visualised the little one coming down ... lay in the bath and have tried to barter with her, stood for hours next to her cot with the mobile playing hoping it would inspire her- and still nothing except increased discharge (sorry tmi) and amazing BH- feel like she is laughing at me- and then this morning the cat who has not slept on the bed for months jumped up and tried to use my bump as a scratch post!!!

Hope you all had a good weekend xxx

BeckyAu · 21/01/2008 10:05

Morning all...

Ha ha bluebell you made me laugh - I have done the same! Am trying every old wives tale to persuade lo to come out but clearly I have a very comfortable womb. I wonder if s/he has a TV and mini bar in there. Having been quite quiet for a couple of days boy is there a dance class going on in there this morning...
I keep thinking I must get a show soon or a contraction or SOMETHING! But no... I've only had one BH the whole time so don't have anything to go on.
I have a silly dilemma going on... my car (with baby car seat now fitted) needs MOT before saturday. I just can't decide when to book it in - sooner or later - what happens if I promptly go in to labour when it goes into the garage... eek! I guess I just have to bite the bullet and get on with it....

COME OUT BABIES! We want to meet you

mum2sons · 21/01/2008 10:29

Congratulations Martha200! I hope your anaemia improves...

Morning everyone else especially my fellow still pregnant friends! Yes, still here, no signs, bouncing on my birth ball as we speak. Nipples tweaked, pineappled out and curried. Will try the acrobatic shagging again later. I have loads of BHs but have had for ages. Do you think we will be joining the February list?!

Waves to all the other mummies and babies xxx

betterhalf · 21/01/2008 10:30

Yes, I have a feeling I will end up on the Feb list. Loads of BH's and had on and off back ache yesterday which amounted to...nothing! Grrrr.

pussycatmomma · 21/01/2008 13:12

bluebell we have same due date! we are due date buddies.
So come on babies, where are you?

madmouse · 21/01/2008 13:47

I am still here as well and not even due yet, so no need to feel abandoned any time soon. Although I think I may have had some show this morning . Can it be completely clear? It certainly was sticky, like wall paper paste.

I tried a different tack with my lo this morning, had coffee with lots of other mums and cuddled six different babies and promised he would get all that if he got out . Hard to cuddle babies with 38+5 worth of bump though .

Feel better for some human company and a walk into town. Get soo bored.

betterhalf · 21/01/2008 15:05

Just come back from Midwife's and she says baby engaged so hoipefully thats a good sign!

madmouse · 21/01/2008 15:47

That certainly is good news betterhalf. How far engaged? Come on baby, out you come

lilyloo · 21/01/2008 16:29

Hi all just wanted to sned lot's of labour vibes your way to all who are waiting.
Lucky just caught up with your story You sound as though you did amazingly well. And am sure now you can look at Aliyah and know it was all worth it.
Just wanted to say to those who have induction that my birth was exactly the same as dd's when i was 5 days early, but shorter! so don't be too disheartened if lo's need a helping hand.
Martha is doing really well only lost a couple of pounds but is a very happy and content baby. My milk came in last night which i forgot how mahoosive it makes your boobs feel but they settling down now so hopefully will feel little more normal tom. Hopeful that Martha sleeps a little more tonight we getting about 4 hours sleep a nigth at the mo before dc's wake so feeling little og eyed today!
Take care all and lot's of luck LL X

betterhalf · 21/01/2008 16:44

Madmouse he's 2/5ths so woo hoo! bring it on!

bluebell82 · 21/01/2008 19:33

ladies- did a bit of the old googling earlier and found a study about nipple stimulation, but it needs to be as if the baby is trying to feed so getting out the breast pump for a couple of hours, apparently 15 mins each boob then alternate, keeping it up for a couple of hours, so shall be on birthing ball with breast bump during Soap Night- thank god DH has gone the football!!! The shame

scaryhairycat · 21/01/2008 19:49

Hi ladies,(formally spackcat btw) haven't posted in ages, but have been reading all the stories etc! Big congratulations to all those who have had their littlies! xx

Absolutley no signs whatsoever for me (due a week today), no real bh's to mention, no backache, no yucky stuff(!),head not engaged (unless thats changed since friday - can't tell),not a twinge, nothing!
Does anyone know if this means I will be really overdue? Or can labour suddenly come on without any 'lead up'? I can't remember much from last time - he arrived 1 day before due date and I know I was generally more uncomfortable with him,(was a summer pregnancy though!).
Oh well, more time to spend on mn I s'pose!
Good luck to all those due any day now! xx

nicky6 · 21/01/2008 20:25

Me due a week today too. Apparently it can happen at any time.

i would like it to come at the beginning of feb though dont ask me why just what i have in my head.

Have had loads of braxtons since 25 weeks even though they feel a bit more like period pain these days.

Got measured up for nursing bras today and dh sorting out a few bits for nursery also ordered some winnie the pooh stickers for the walls, ordered them off ebay from america and still half the price of the stuff here.

We have cooked a big soup/casserole some to be frozen as per my mummys advice - making me and dh laugh at our domesticity.

He suddenly pipes up last night come on i want it to come out now and starts trying to "tune in" my nipples to make it come - made me laugh but told him i am not a radio.

Anyway am happy for a few more days as loads going on this week and nice to spend some time hanging out with dh.

Have rasberry leaf tea in cupboard but too scared to drink it just in case i go into labour!! Does it need to be fresh pineapple or can it be tinned??

labour vibes to everyone who wants them, and congrats on the latest arrivals - i wonder who is going to be last???

barristermum · 21/01/2008 20:37

Just looking in to keep up with you all - sounds like some of you are really feeling the delays now - good labour vibes to all and safe deliveries wished all round.
Have posted pic of cerys on profile at last.

AngeChica · 21/01/2008 20:45

I had fresh pineapple last night but it just gave me the colly-wobbles TBH. Having a sweep tomorrow. Babato getting induced today with same due date as me has got me thinking. Will they agree to induce before 2 weeks overdue if you make enough of a case for it?

So bored today, DH has 9000 songs on iTunes and have been making endless playlists from these..............

Hiya ladies, Congratulations Martha!!!Think today is official "fed up with being pregnant" day, by the sounds of it! Me too!!! And i'm not even due for another 10 days! Huge sympathy to those overdue, last time dd was a couple of days early (yes, it's possible with a first!) so i can't imagine being later, but who knows! I've tried pineapple, sex, bouncing, and been drinking rasp leaf tea for a couple of weeks (Nicky it certainly doesn't induce labour, but apparantly tones up the womb muscles and makes everything more efficient when it happens so don't worry! ) Think it hs to be fresh pineapple too... something to do with enzymes destroyed by the canning process.
Anyway, didn't do much today, weather horrible, so bit of tidying up, fielded phone calls and texts from my mother, mil, dsd, work friends... hey, you've all been there!
Anyway, gonna go away and eat chocolate and have hot bath and hopefully stop winging! Hope katy is getting on ok, love and sympathetic virtual hugs to all lolo x
ps - nearly forgot - Barristermum she's beautiful!!!!

Hey ladies no time to catch up tonight but I wanted you to know that I am STILL here speak tomorrow, hope everyone is well

No news from here...due date tomorrow but not expecting anything to happen!! But it has just occurred to me that I still need to sort out my ipod, so at least I have a task for tomorrow - in addition to seeing GP in the morning for checkup, meeting old friend for brunch, cooking the 20 leeks that have been accumulating in my garage over the past few weeks from my veg boxes into leek&potato soup for the freezer and making an enormous batch of spinach and ricotta canelloni before the ricotta and mozarella I bought last week go out of date.........DH said something about 'relaxing'....pah!
Love and good labour vibes to everyone (except Nicky for now!) xx

Morning ladies
I'm still here too! Now 41 +2 and boooored waiting! I have second sweep this morning tho I don't suppose the last one really counted as MW couldn't reach cervix properly and it was tightly shut. Anyway, what with getting the car MOT'd (and having a big fried breakfast in the italian cafe while we wait )and going to buy rasperry leaf tea and clary sage oil that's mine and DH's morning sorted out!
I am going to try to ignore LO now - just in case that tactic makes him/her decide to come out. Wishing, hoping and talking nicely to it seems to make no difference so perhaps if I try to pretend it's not there it'll want my attention?
Love to all xxxx

Good morning ladies- well after using the breast pump for an hour (30 mins each booby) I had a few twinges but nothing- but this morning I have just had the almighty runs even though I have not eaten and provoking foods and I have had my show- yeah feel very crampy like period is coming.could this be the start of things to come, so glad I whacked a bit of holiday skin on last night and shaved the regions!!!
