Hello!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuckySalem · 12/01/2008 09:11

Congrats Fragolina I'm so happy for you and I love the name - Is even more beautiful when you know what it all means.

Not much new here but I'm sure i've lost my mucus plug (that gloppy bit I had yesterday) and the baby definately feels VERY low so maybe i'll avoid hospital anyway.

I've decided I'm going to ask them to leave me till Thurs for my induction then that has given the baby the whole 2 weeks to go over (just in case dates are out slightly) Just hope MW will agree to that.

MW due today and i'm making a list of questions to ask her as I always feel as though she didn't tell me anything when she leaves. Also I think i'm a bit of a control freak which is why this is freaking me out so much.

Juicylucytoo · 12/01/2008 09:31

Just a little Hijack.

Hi Mrs MJ - Hope everything is going well and your little one is punctual (unlike mine)

Goodluck with everything. Hope you get your money worries sorted. Trust me when the Baby arrives, they will pale in significance. Babies rock

Good luck to all you Jan Mums xx

AngeChica · 12/01/2008 11:03

Hey congratulations Fragolina! and other ladies who have their LOs now. Look forward to seeing the pics

We're going to see a house today, we saw one last weekend as well. Mainly sparked by me saying that DH can have another puppy if he lets us move to a house with a garden! I must be mad.

If you southern ladies want to see what you can get for your money up here:

www.expertagent.co.uk/in4glestates/%7Bdfa744f6-6bbb-4508-a1cc-79b669465740%7D/%7Bc78 14738-0c8a-4f4c-9d29-9891e2dffb1d%7D/external.pdf

It's not to our taste and it's not our dream of a stone built cottage in the prettier end of Northumberland but that is probably a few years away for us anyway!. It's very family friendly though!

gingeme · 12/01/2008 11:10

efmc sure sounds like your own way. Keep us posted.
Many congratulations Fragolina. Beautiful name. Well done you xxxxx

madmouse · 12/01/2008 13:04

Fragolina, already congratulated you on your other thread, but no harm in doing it again!

Love the name.

Eeeeeeep!! I am pretty sure I lost some water this morning. I was drying after a shower and felt this little gush coming down, it was about a tablespoon full and I am sure it is water as it was full of bits of thrush pessary (sorry TMI). It was clear and odourless. DH remembered that they told us at antenatal class that babies sometimes pierce little holes with their nails so we think it may be that. But I am hoping for contractions . Labour vibes welcome (although only 37+4).

Susiemj · 12/01/2008 13:35

labour vibes coming your way madmouse >>>>>>>

OP posts:
katyt1 · 12/01/2008 13:45

ooh, labour vibes for you madmouse

efmc - could be you too

fragolina - loves the names and their meanings, almost brought a tear to my eye (ok it did, can you tell i'm pg?!)

barristermum - congrats to you too, think i missed you yesterday, sorry.

lolo - hope you slept better last night, at least better than me! you're right, there are some bits that will be much easier with the slightly bigger gap, ds is happy to play/read on his own, watch tv, etc. so shd let me feed LO if i time his activities right, plus he's not really old enough (i hope) to feel jealous. my sis had a 3yr gap and the older one was v put out for quite a while.

no more interesting twinges from me, even finished the curtains this morning, just have achy arms now
dh meant to be taking ds to the aquarium later (if both of them wake up in time, lol) so may try the list if no-one else has.
not too many things left on my to do list, friends round for dinner later & other ones for lunch tomorrow, hoping to start things after that!!

know i've missed out a few people, sorry, , back later

madmouse · 12/01/2008 15:41

Feeling slightly painful tightenings under my bump, and slightly nauseous. Trying to work out if this is mind or body . Decided to tidy up the living room just in case .

makingnosense · 12/01/2008 16:25

Oooh, fingers crossed for you Madmouse.

Letsgo · 12/01/2008 16:45

Congratulations to Angelcake, BWmum, Barristermum and Fragolina. It's all really exciting now.

I'm due on Monday and no signs. I'm quite glad though because I've got a terrible cold and really want to be healthier before I embark on labour (if I get the choice )

Beckyau I'm with you on the feelings. I'm hardly sleeping with the apprehension/excitement etc etc. This has been going on for quite a long time but I'm sure we'll all be fine. In fact, I can't quite believe that there's a baby in my tummy. Am I a bit stupid?

Amani · 12/01/2008 17:38

Just a nosey to see who has dropped!

Congrs Angelcake, BMW, Barristermum and Fragolina and well done!

Naetha · 12/01/2008 17:48

Quick FYI - Sainsbury's have 1/3 off all nappies ending tomorrow.

I've just made an online order and ordered 400 size 2 nappies, and 400 size 3 nappies

For you cat lovers out there, they also have the Felix "as good as it looks" pouches at half price, which makes them cheaper than the standard cans

I've just spent £200 on enough nappies and cat food to last me 6 months

LuckySalem · 12/01/2008 19:14

Right ok,

Had a different midwife today, she was the supervisor of midwives and SO good and supportive.

MW came and did another sweep and she could reach the head. Cervix is still long and hard (she's written 2cm in my book) She's also said that she thinks the babys neck is flexed so I need to do more about optimum positioning (which could be why head not all the way down) she says it was definately more favourable this time.

They've booked me in for an induction on Weds night (have to go in for 9pm) but they're sending a MW out again on Monday for another sweep.

However, since she's done it i've had some old blood (quite abit) everytime I've been to the loo so things are starting. Also i'm getting some definate either contractions or BH I'm not sure. It's not really hurting it's just uncomfortable so i'm guessing it's BH's.

I explained I really don't want an induction but if they want me to birth naturally in hospital then I can put up with that as long as they can respect I don't want to be interefered with and want an early discharge which she agreed with but said she can't promise anything as it may not be her that night.

P.S I've copied this from my other thread so....

Madmouse - Am sending you labour vibes, sounds good but you better not have yours before mine!! lol. Seriously though, good luck.

LuckySalem · 12/01/2008 19:25

Cheers Katy!!

Fragolina · 12/01/2008 19:43

Hi everyone - still a bit shellshocked and high on happiness, so a v quick drop in. Sending everyone who wants them strong 'come out baby vibes'. Fingers crossed for Lucky and madmouse. Any news from lilyloo? Have posted some pics of Tana on profile.

Letsgo, I can sympathise! I keep looking at Tana and can't believe she was living inside me, and that she's mine, and finally here! Keep having surreptious sniffs of her baby smell just to make sure she's real.

LuckySalem · 12/01/2008 19:45

Fragolina - Absolutely gorgeous pictures.

Will try and keep you all updated but not sure whether DP will let me.

Just to let you know i'm sitting on my birthing ball with quite strong tightenings over the top of my stomach so maybe something will happen tonight. [fingers crossed]

Will speak to you all in the morning. (hopefully while babe in arms, )

madmouse · 12/01/2008 20:20

Lucky, I am so chuffed to see and hear you so upbeat after today's appointment. And it sounds like things are happening. relax now and trust your body.

My body can't make its mind up it seems. My B-H feel different, lower down and more painful, and even more frequent than before, but they hardly happen when I sit down, but whack in as soon as I get up. Oh well, false alarm or early stages, we shall see.

Lucky, I definitely hope it is you before me, I officially still have over two weeks to go.

Fragolina, beautiful pictures, beautiful baby, you look absolutely gorgeous yourself too. Love your 'It is all worth it in the end' smile in the first picture

ayrshirelolo · 12/01/2008 21:40

Congratulations Fragolina!!!! She's absolutely gorgeous, and it's a beautiful name too!!!!
Lucky glad it's all progressing for you, fingers crossed for a quick, easy and relatively painless birth...! look forward to hearing your birth announcement soon!... and keep bouncing!
Madmouse and efmc... woooohooo!!!! exciting for you!!! hope it all happens for you too, but am officially jealous as nothing much seems to be happening for me yet, despite long walk this afternoon, loads of pineapple etc!
Hi to everyone ... sorry not a lot to say tonight, just excited for everyone!!!! lolo x

Susiemj · 12/01/2008 21:42

Fragolina - gorgeous pictures. Tana is beautiful. She looks like she's going to have stunning eyes! I must say, you look good after labour!

OP posts:
fluffymummy · 12/01/2008 23:27

Fragolina - congratulations, she's absolutely stunning...and you look pretty good yourself. Have you had a chance to post your labour story anywhere? Keen to hear all the details when you get a few minutes to breathe!! Now, just make sure that your DH continues to keep his mother under control....

Lucky - good luck!!

Madmouse - hope that this is it!

KT - curtains?! Madwoman!!

I think Barristermum will be home from hospital tomorrow, so I'm going to be really good and keep totally quiet about everything I know (not much!) so she can share with you soon....

Gingeme - glad the little ones are responding so well to the newbie You sound so in control...!!

Naetha - it sounds as though you've got the whole priorities thing totally sorted!!! Well done...and ta for the shopping tips

Lolo - I know what you mean about the 'proud aunt' feeling with all these babies...my DH is also getting quite into me logging on for updates and photos...which is funny since he's been taking the mickey out of my 'virtual friends' for the past 6 months or so !

Not much happening here...random tightenings and really bad back-ache (generally from 2am-6am for some reason ) but no action to report.

DH has come down with a nasty bug and is now running a temperature of 102, so I've moved up to our 'new' attic room tonight so sleep on the futon....ouch, my poor aching hips! Oh, and going to the toilet in the middle of the night is going to involve reversing backwards on all 4's before I can stand up....hehe...should be amusing But he's due at least 1 night in a proper bed after moving up here most of the past week at 2am when I start wiggling around....

I've also got (yet another) cold, but don't think its as bad as DH's. Even so, we were pretty useless at looking after DS today...had CBeebies on for nearly 1.5 hours this morning , which is almost unheard of! DS wasn't complaining tho!! Fingers crossed DH will feel a bit better tomorrow as I'm not much good at looking after myself at the moment, let along a 2.5 yr old and sick hubbie....!

OK, its late enough for me to try to go to bed in the hope of getting a few hours sleep. Last night I managed a grand total of 4 hours between 11pm and 9am. Pretty poor....!

Love to all, and lots of 'out' vibes to almost everyone left on the Jan thread who hasn't yet popped...except those who still aren't quite ready, of course! xxx

madmouse · 13/01/2008 07:58

Morning all

Fell asleep like a log at 11pm and was disappointed to be so comfy when I woke up at 2.30am when DH came to bed (I know!). However after coming back from the loo I noticed regular tightenings, about every ten minutes and some pain. I managed to stay in bed until 6.30 as they do not hurt that much. Lo was moving loads and had hiccups about 4 times. Guess he was feeling the squeeze.

Still having constant B-H and very strong tightenings under bump every ten minutes which make me stop and breath. But I would not say they hurt. Latent phase?

Friends are due this afternoon with two small kiddies and her mum (who I know well). Not cancelling just yet, I will probably be glad of the company and they are bringing lunch and pudding .

Will keep you posted but not really expecting baby today. Hope it is different for you Lucky, thinking of you loads

Fluffy, lol imagining you crawling backwards, the joys of pregnancy. Hope DH is feeling better today and that things happen for you soon.

lilyloo · 13/01/2008 08:03

Congrats Fragolina she beautiful!

Well still no news here so think i am sort of resigning myself for induction on Friday although i suppose still 5 days left for this lo to make an apearance! Although not today please as i off to do DD 3rd birthday party at 10.00 am!

So glad to see you more positive Lucky either way we will both def have our lo's this time next week so that is the main thing. Am thinking of you and hoping we can both avoid the hospital if pos otherwise two brand new birth pools going up for sale soon!

Hope everyone else keeping well and expecting lot's more lo's will start arriving as you all reach your due dates too. Lot's of luck LL x

LuckySalem · 13/01/2008 09:15

Well nothing happened, went to bed and fell asleep

Have just woken up (well after all the tossing and turning from dead hips etc) been the loo and had more Show tinged with red blood this time (so must be fresh) Back on my birthball now screaming at the cats to "LEAVE ME ALONE" lol.

MM - Sounds more like it's moving forward for you.
LL - Hope everything gets going for you soon too. I don't want to have to sell my pool "Brand new"

Will keep you all posted!

LuckySalem · 13/01/2008 10:50

Getting alot of tightenings on the top of my belly (although could be baby moving around in there) and period pains at the bottom of my belly now.

Also the need to pass gas but no gas to pass? Anyone know of this?
