Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gingeme · 13/01/2008 11:56

Morning ladies. Sounds like its all go on here. May be some more Jan babys arriving in the very near future
My milk has come in today. Ouch. Boobs look impressive though George seemed to know yoo as he had another hungry night. Just keep telling myself it doesnt last hell settle soon.
Been sorting my wardrobe out this morning. I am going to put my maternity wear on Ebay tommorrow. Definately won't be needing it again !

LuckySalem · 13/01/2008 11:57

no more after george then gingme?

chiefcookandbottlewasher · 13/01/2008 12:04

Hi all, hope you don't mind me crashing your thread but just wanted to drop in and say congrats to all who have given birth so far and good luck to those of you still waiting.

It is my due date today and I have followed this thread from the start although I can't get on a PC often enough to contribute anything meaningful! You've all been really helpful in making me feel like a normal person and that I'm not the only one going through some of the weird and wonderful stuff that nobody tells you about when you get pregnant!!

Fingers crossed for more beautiful babies arriving soon...

gingeme · 13/01/2008 12:08

Thats a definate no Lucky
I said that to dh at 4am this morning. Even if he hadn't had his snip there are to be no more babys in this household. Not unless theyre the sort you can hand back. I think I have done more than enough for mother kind now. Job complete

madmouse · 13/01/2008 12:46

Well Lucky, looks like we are having the same things going. Period pains and pressure behind there ( for good measure). Just feeling a lot more relaxed than you as I have far more time. Just read your other thread, please stay calm and focus on babe and body. All this stress will get in the way of your oxytocin supply and therefore contractions.

Friend just called to say that they are on their way, told her I think I may be in the early stages, turns out her DH said last night 'Wouldn't it be fun if mm went into labour with us all there' . She asked if I still wanted them to come, and I said yes as I honestly do not believe this babe will arrive today and it will keep me occupied.

Just thinking maybe I should call the mw if still nothing tomorrow morning because of losing a bit of water, but it was only a bit and it is not as if I am leaking.

Ginge, I daresay you have done your share! My auntie had seven of her own plus fosterkids, she was in babies for 18 years. Not sure I could manage that.

Susiemj · 13/01/2008 13:06

hi all -

exciting times for you all!

Lucky - i know i didn't go into labour but almost did - did have the wind / no wind thing.

Madmouse - if you think you're leaking i'd call MW - they seem to take it fairly seriously. prob nothing tho...

mum2sam · 13/01/2008 15:14

Hiya congratualtions to you all and well done to gimgeme dh. Ive just had a sweep this am apparently babies head is down low and my cervx is soft and im 3cm dialated but could be down to thefact this is my second. Does anyone know about bishops score? Shes given me a a score of 8.Apparently if i do have to be induced then i should be quite easy as they will just need to pop my waters

jamieswife · 13/01/2008 15:29

hi mum2sam,
i was 3cm dilated with my first even tho the hospital has to break my waters for me.i was in labour for a total of 8hrs. i'm due to have my next baby on saturday. heads down, and have had loads of tightenings that feel like period pains and loads of painful braxton hick. lastnight i thought my wait was over, but was a false alarm

efmc · 13/01/2008 17:11

thank you all for your best wishes.

the sharp pains in my groin and backache kind of wore off yesterday (had been getting them since tueday). i only had a few pains through the whole of yesterday.

today they seem to be coming back. am now getting BH tightenings across tummy, not every time i get a pain in the groin though. the groin pains are not lasting as long as they had been doing.

i'm thinking i'm having false labour pains rather than the earlystages of the real thing.

today i'm feeling very sick - have just woken up after an afternoon nap, and still feeling nauseous

keep needing to go to the loo too - but it's not the runs, which i've heard can e an indication. think i have a while to go yet!

Naetha · 13/01/2008 17:55

Wow Fragolina - Tana is gorgeous

Seems like everyone is getting a bit closer even if no real contractions yet! I do remember how frustrating it was when it felt like everything was just about to kick off, but then nothing actually happened.

I won't bother telling you to enjoy your last days/weeks because I remember how hellish they were, but do remember you'll have a gorgeous baby in your arms soon, and lots of the niggles (aching hips, loo trips every hour, heartburn) will disappear almost immediately after the birth

Naetha · 13/01/2008 18:01

Oh, not to mention having stuff like peanut butter sandwiches, brie on toasted baguettes, and being sat at the computer with a gin and tonic!!

makingnosense · 13/01/2008 18:02

Naetha... you are making me very

nicky6 · 13/01/2008 18:18

congrats to the new little ones.

Am 38 weeks and had my first cup of rasberry leaf tea - nasty stuff anyway will persevere with it.

Clubbing friday nigth was fun although i left just after midnight as it was getting so packed and i was getting a bit pushed around. Last night we had friends over til one o clock so the result today is i feel a bit tired and groggy.

But unlike last week at least i dont have to get up for work. I have had the whole nausea thing back the last week or so - so that means i have had it nearly the whole 9 months - i was actually sick this week!!

Have also started taking the arnica pills as the homeopath woman said start taking 2 weeks before you are due as it will help with healing - any help i can get thats what i say.

I dont know why but i have it in my head that the baby is going to be born on the 2nd feb so I am not even expecting it any time - is that weird?????

Anyway good luck to those who want the lo out or are trying to keep them in a bit longer.

BeckyAu · 13/01/2008 19:12

Hello all!

Well... today has been my DD. Nothing. No show, no pain, no baby. I can't believe it's even that close! I've not had BH either so it's all a bit strange to think that at some point it could all suddenly kick off! Bump feels heavy in my pelvis but still dancing around and booting hard though I still can't quite believe there's actually baby in there I have to tink that s/he might even still be there this time next week or even longer.I think our hospital lets you go 12 days past DD before they consider doing anything. I'll have eaten curry every night before then I reckon!DH and I have a funny feeling Thursday might be the day. We'll see...

So huge and enormous congratulations to all those with their utterly gorgeous babies

Love to you all xxxxxxxxx

katyt1 · 13/01/2008 19:51

hey all, nothing doing here either, hmph.
still got a while i guess but was hoping for soon. by my dates, i am 38 wks now and ds was born at 38+1 so i'm finding it weird in my head to get past then.
(by official dates i'm 38+5 so even worse)

nicky - i might try taking arnica too then, i thought it was just for afterwards. tho with arnica, antenatal vitamins, raspberry leaf tea tablets i might start rattling
sorry to hear you are still being sick

naetha !

hi to others, latecomers too
i'm off to have a bath then bed, spd playing up more at the mo and walking is a struggle, wore my tubigrip today but not convinced it helps.

hope we have more announcements soon

madmouse · 13/01/2008 20:01

Hi all

Still here, as I predicted no baby. Had a great time with friends and their little ones and got so distracted I felt almost nothing, but it has all come back now they have left. Feel movement right on top of my fanjo and even my perineum. Weird, guess baby is really low.Feeling relaxed about it, as it is still early day for me.

Have decided to have an early night (as I barely slept last night) and ring the midwife if nothing happens during the night just in case they are concerned over a tablespoon of water. Feeling a bit restless now but not sure why, maybe getting a bit nervous after all .

Nicky, I do hope sickness eases now you have time to rest (not sure clubbing helps? )

KT, b*gger about SPD playing up, are we passing it between us? mine is almost unnoticeable now and I have only had it for a week.

AngeChica · 13/01/2008 20:42

A quiet day on the baby front today!

We had our offer accepted on the house so have spent today frantically tidying so we can get ours valued and on market tomorrow. TBH DH did most of the donkey work. We also had to go and get cheap pictures to cover a multitude of sins but I fear 3 years of dog has left my carpets beyond redemption. I refuse to stress about it though and leaving it all to him to sort.

Quite a few people hitting due date this week, me included, and thinking of MrsMc who is the day after me, wish you were on here comparing twinges or lack of them with us!

Gingeme, when i hear of people having the snip I always think of Ian Beale in Easties who managed to have Bobby even after the snip , as apparently it takes a while for the little soldiers to start firing blanks!

LuckySalem · 13/01/2008 22:41

Well things are definately happening here.

TMI - Have had constant discharge all day with blood in (to the point where it feels like i'm peeing the stuff) Contractions all day on and off although me and DP went for a walk at 9pm and i've been getting them around every 7/8 minutes painful but not needed anything to cope yet. Backache is appearing as well which I hope isn't cos baby has gone back to back.

MM - Hows things there?

ayrshirelolo · 13/01/2008 22:53

Hello! Just checking in to see how everyone is, sorry no babies today! Lucky, hope you're still cheery, lol at you shouting at the cats!!! Madmouse hope you had a nice time with your friends and are getting some sleep! fluffy lol at picture of you reversing out a futon for a wee! Hope dh better soon, and i share your guilt.... dd has recently been watching far too much Cbeebies.... i woke up last night with the theme from "storymakers" in my head and couldn't get rid of it!!
Angechica delighted about the house stuff! and yeah, i miss Mrs McJ too... hope she gets back to us soon!!
Kt hope the pain doesn't stop you sleeping, and that tomorow is better for the spd.
Nicky, interesting about starting the arnica now, any thoughts Naetha? Don't know how you managed the clubbing though... i've turned into an old woman recently who even needs a nap in the afternoon!
Hello and welcome to new people!!
Big waves and hugs to all ..... mum2sam, becky, makingnosense, gingeme, susie, naetha, everyone!!!!!!!!! hope everyone has a good night. lolo x

ayrshirelolo · 13/01/2008 22:54

oooo Lucky, just saw your post... sounds like it's happening! Take some raspberry leaf and bounce a bit?!!

Naetha · 14/01/2008 00:43

Lucky - if you're bleeding that much you should really contact the MW now - I don't want to scare you, but it can be an indicator of something seriously wrong! I know you really want your home birth, but I'm sure more than anything you want a happy healthy baby.

Oh and for all those envious of lack of pregnancy niggles, there's plenty of other niggles to look forwards to, not to mention sitting here at 12:40 with LO crying in his moses basket for no apparent reason and not wanting to go to sleep at all! I think if I hear another round of lullabies I'll go mad, but that's the only time he stops crying!!!

LuckySalem · 14/01/2008 00:57

Hi Naetha - the bleeding is minimul (Sp) its the clear discharge thats like peeing - Sorry didn't mean to scare ya I must have explained it wrong.

madmouse · 14/01/2008 11:07

Hi all

Still here and still very much pregnant. Went to bed at nine and slept quite well, unlike DH, who was kept awake by me making all sorts of noises .

Rang community midwife team this morning about that bit of waters. They were not concerned but said I could ring delivery suite for advice. Did so and was told I should have come in on Saturday. I explained that I would have done so if my waters had gone with a gush or if I was leaking. In the event they think it is nothing at all, they are not even sure it is water, the niggles I am feeling can go on for day (I know that!) and only to come in if baby stops moving well, more water or a show. So now I am at home niggling away and feeling very excited at Lucky's latest posts and the fact that the last one is some time ago. Go Lucky!!

By the way backache is normal in early labour and does not mean back to back issues.

makingnosense · 14/01/2008 11:17

Need a rant, sorry. Am due on 24th and a simple job in my kitchen, i.e. repairing a bit of the ceiling has turned into the job from hell! The whole of the ceiling has had to come down today, dust and dirt EVERYWHERE! Won't be fixed until flamin well next Monday. I could scream! So much for chilling out and relaxing before this baby gets here!

Had backache last night for quite a while and dull ache under bump this morning. Would be Sods Law this baby decides to turn up in the thick of all this wouldn't it? Oh, yes, and to top it all off, my foster son is off school sick today too! Fabulous isnt it. He's only been back at school 2 days since the Xmas break.

Feel better for the rant, thanks for letting me vent!

madmouse · 14/01/2008 11:25

You are welcome makingnosense, I would be in the curtains with all that. Who is responsible for sorting out the ceiling, if you can you make someone else responsible?

Close the door on the kitchen, plonk your dear FS in front of a video and put your feet up for a bit.

If baby wants to come you can't stop it so not much sense (sorry no pun) in getting would up about it. Babies don't care about dirt anyway, nor do they need to use the kitchen.

Try to chill (easy talking I know ) and come back for some more ranting. I do a good line in ranting myself I must say .

xx
