The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

It's my Birthday today and I've had a lovely day but it was sooo cold in Salzburg , about -5. The market was lovely but the shops weren't open being Sunday - not like Basel .I love the train idea.I'd have paid for my boys to go on that today!! Had a fantastic Chinese for lunch too, got some new Maternity clothes so that's been nice too.

Boys are in bed now so I can relax in front of the TV, hoping they'll both go skiing with DH tomorrow so that I can wrap their presents!!

ernest · 24/12/2007 06:30

Happy birthday Deb ! Glad you enjoyed Salzburg. The Sami Niggi-Näggi (the tram!) was great, and it apparently gave dh the chance to buy memememememe another present ha ha. It was a mere -3 in Basel, but we had so many layers on it was ok. I remember a couple of years ago we drove up to the Strasburg market and it was OMG so cold. Even ds3 who was in his pushchair with full on snow suit plus extra thick swiss pram cosey toes was screaming with cold, even tho the only exposed bit on any of us were the eye balls. Our visit was cut very short. There also the shops were all shut so no escape from the arctic. Bloody hell 2 days a year shops open on a Sunday is hardly excessive is it? Espcially not if it gives my dh a chance to get me a treat, cos I've bloody earned it, especially this year. So there.

upsidedowncake, Japan to Spain. wow. yes. So how was the culture shock! I'm not expecting anything fom Italy, then at least I shouldn't be disapppointed. My 3 have arived and are excited it's Christmas eve. Got a busy day ahead preparing for Santa.

Merry Christmas everyone

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 24/12/2007 06:35

Woo hoo it's Christmas Eve. Have got my friends BBQ to go to tonight. It's his one contribution to entertaining the whole year for our little niche of friends and it's sort of become tradtional for him to have a BBQ. We have a great laugh so I am expecting this year to be no different.
Felt rought yesterday pm. All of a sudden dizziness and lightheadedness has kicked in and it's been quite frightening. A little bit worried about driving into work this am, but I feel fine at the moment. What was that all about? I'd just had my roast beef dinner, so blood sugars must have been ok.
Even lying down I could feel the room spinning. Wouldn't mind but I haven't had any alcohol in months! Room still like a merrygoround when I went to bed.
Anyone else experienced this?
Good luck to anyone travelling over the festive period. Hope the roads aren't too busy for you. And take care.
Hopefully I'll catch up later, just off to go to work. Oh the joys.............
LLxx

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 24/12/2007 06:37

Happy birthday for yesterday Debs. Sounds like you had a great (if not cold) time. I love Austria. Have been there a couple of times with Travelscope (the tour company that went bump on Friday).
Bye for now..........

debinaustria · 24/12/2007 08:26

Morning everyone - my Birthday ended with me being violently sick last night, I think the combination of the Chinese food, Chocolate birthday cake, extreme cold and travelling.

But I feel OK today, need to make some reindeer dust in a minute with the boys and get them to tidy their bedroom so that Santa doesn't trip up on the way to their stockings.

How are you all today?

Happy Christmas

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 24/12/2007 09:57

Glad you are feeling better today Debs.

DP is at work today and has barely anytime off this christmas, will be off tommorow and boxing day though. We had arranged to go to the inlaws for boxing day for a meal but of course yesterday they pressurised us into going over on christmas day so DP is going to take the girls for 1 hour(no longer or he's in trouble). They really spoilt the mood but 'bullying' us into it and I feel so stressed about the baby at the moment that oit all caught up with me last night and I ended up having a huge cry which was good to get out of my system. My next scan is on friday and I can't wait to get some reassurance.

sophiewd · 24/12/2007 13:49

Glad you are feeling better Deb and a belated Happy Birthday. DH and his family have gone to pub and then for walk, DD woke up very grumpy so is having lunch in front of Shrek and I am tracking Santa on Google Earth and about to cry buckets at the Railway Children.

Happy Christmas to everyone as probably won't get back on here again. Hopefully not to many rows and the odd glass of champers.

ChinaSurprise · 24/12/2007 21:06

Merry Christmas all. Just been watching lovely Patrick Stewart in A Christmas Carol on tv, which has put me in a great mood.
Just a quickie to say:
Deb - sorry you were so sick - sounds like you had too much of everything! I had a HUGE meal yesterday and felt rather off colour come evening...
G43 - sorry to hear you're feeling bullied but I'm sure the day will be fine. Grin and bear it - I almost throttled DH's not so darling grandmother yesterday at lunch so ikwym...
And finally, libralady - re the dizziness etc. I had exactly this for several days a couple of weeks ago - when my booking in blood tests came back, my iron levels on average were fine, but some individual areas of the test were low - if you can face a bit more red meat/ green veg/ eggs etc you may find this helps, although it seems to take a few days to work. I hope you feel better soon, but your roast beef dinner has no doubt got you off to a great start.
That's it for now - off to weep through the carols at midnight mass. Have a fabby Christmas one and all and see you in the New Year

Merry Christmas everyone.
I'm waiting for DS to wake! Next year I don't think there'll be any holding him back and he'll be waking a 5 month old into the bargain ha ha!
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

debinaustria · 25/12/2007 16:11

Happy Christmas everyone

Had a lovely day so far , apart from being beaten at bowling on the Wii by Grandma
Boys have been so excited and pleased with all their presents, the lego models are made, Christmas dinner has been eaten, and the house is a tip again!! I had a glass of wine and also rum sauce with my Christmas pud!!

josey · 26/12/2007 11:35

Merry Christmas everyone.

Hope you all had wonderful days, we had a fantastic day although a little tinged by DH's office phoning him with a check in for today, im a bit sad a weepy as I really dont want him to go even though he has been home for 5 weeks, I keep kicking myself and saying that Im just being selfish.

I keep going to the fridge for some left over sausages or puddings I can see me comfort eating my way though New Year.

Libralady I wake my kids every year, DS is 8 and is hopeless at getting up in the morning, DD woke him at 8am this year so I cant complain.

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 26/12/2007 17:52

We had a lovely christmas even though the kids woke up at 4.30 ! I had also had only 1 1/2 sleep as I just couldn't sleep as I was so annoyed at the inlaws pushing us to visit them. We did visit but stayed for only an hour so the kids got their presents from them but couldn't open the toys as we didn't have time so DD1 was complaining about being bored it was infact really dull and very materialistic as all we did was exchange gifts and leave, they should have stuck to the oringnal plan and had us over today for quaility time -weird people! We then came homw had a huge cold lunch and I fell asleep on the sofa and dp on the floor, luckily my mum was over to look after the children! We were all so stuff and tired we had our christmas dinner today instead which was lovely. SO apart from the souless visit to inlaws we had a great time. DD1 is playing in her DS and DD2 has gone with dp to take my mum hone so I've had a chance to come online. DP is back to work tommorow which is a shame but I'm looking forward to my scan on friday which I will take the girls to. Hopefully they can tell me what sex the baby is as I'm calling it Matilda at the moment, which won't seem right if it's a boy! I havr also grown out of most of my clothes but nowhere near me sells mat clothes and I don't like buying clothes online as it's hard to find clothes to fit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

debinaustria · 27/12/2007 07:07

Glad you both had a good Christmas, it's that awful getting back to normal day today - got to do things like ironing and washing and cleaning!! Got SIL and her partner arriving on Sunday though which we're really looking forward to.They don't have children, the boys adore them and they are so good with them, so they are great family to have to stay.

Suffering with a non pregnancy ailment today - a Wii shoulder!!! Desperately trying to beat Dh at it last night when the boys had gone to bed, I was up till 12.30!

Up early now waiting for the oil tanker to arrive then dh can stop worrying, he kept having nightmares that we'd run out over Christmas with 12 paying guests in the house!

It's gone 8.00 and I'm the only one awake - a weird feeling in this house!!

Hope everyone's well, my sickness still hasn't stopped.

aberdeenhiker · 27/12/2007 08:09

deb - 8am and you're the only one awake - if this is the future with older kids - I definitely like the sound of it! We've been up even earlier than normal as DS is off kilter from Christmas (too much excitement) so we were all up at 5:30 this morning!

Glad to hear everyone had great Christmases. I did have my one glass of wine with my meal but felt a bit sick after - too much food probably - so that's put me off wine for a while. We had a lovely time though but it's back to work today and both DH and I were sad last night. Thank goodness we get two days off next week for New Years!

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 27/12/2007 09:17

Deb lol about the wii shoulder. When we first got ours I was frantically trying to beat DP ay boxing and could barely move the next morning! I hope you oil arrives.

AH so sorry you are back at work, dp is too which I think is a shame as I have to take the kids with me to look around the sales and I don't imagine they will last very long as it will be far too busy! At least town centre is less than 10 mins walk away.

josey · 27/12/2007 09:21

Oh god I feel like s**t today, I got myself so upset yesterday I made myself ill, I couldnt sleep though exhausted and we had a howling gale which didnt help and to top things off my MIL is coming today HELP I need a large paper bag.

aberdeenhiker · 27/12/2007 10:49

josey - hope you're okay. The winds were crazy last night weren't they? I assumed it'd be raining this morning but nope...

Instead of a large paper bag, what about large amounts of chocolate?

OP posts:
debinaustria · 27/12/2007 11:58

Josey - hope you feel better soon.

sophiewd · 27/12/2007 15:37

Josey, hope you feel better soon.

Hello everyone else, and hope you are all recovering from Christmas. DD was very good, no tantrums and well behaved escept that she did strip down completely naked except for a hat for some reason. Have started introducing her to a potty as she keeps taking her nappy off.

Went to Midwife today and heard heartbeat which was lovely, everything is fine and all set for anotehr boring pregnancy which is fine by me and I have finally succumbed to the idea that I am going to have to buy some maternity trousers when Next get their act together and ressurerect their proper website.

We did have some bad news in that afte months of problems my DB and his wife decided t go their separate ways on boxing day. They managed really well on Christmas day for their boys but DB says that he thinks it's time, before it gets nasty.

debinaustria · 27/12/2007 15:59

What a shame about your Brother , Christmas must have been so difficult for them.

Glad to hear your pregnancy is going fine

josey · 27/12/2007 17:00

Sophiewd, sorry to hear about your DB.

Feeling alot better thanks, MIL didnt stay long which is great but Im annoyed as they were meant to be here for dinner and didnt bother to pre warn me they were only staying till mid avo.

I have midwife tomorrow for bloods meant to be 16 weeks but going by my scan i will be 17 tomorrow where has the time gone?

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 28/12/2007 08:46

Morning all,

Sorry about your brother Sophie but at least it sounds like they are being civil to each other.

Josey glad you are feeling better today.

I'm 18+1 today and have a cervix checking scan. I haven't had my triple test bloods taken yet (remined by Josey's message) does anyone know the cut off point as I don't see a clinic midwife until the 16th ,I think you are supposed to see a midwife when you have a scan in ante natal otherwise I don't have an appointment booked with one at all!

Deese20 · 29/12/2007 10:01

Hiya
I've been dropping in on the thread for a while now and thought I should join and say 'hi' to everyone.
This is my 1st pregnancy and am due 14th June (which doesn't seem far away at all!) All going extremely smoothly so far (touch wood). We opted not to have the nuchal but had a dating scan at 12 weeks, which was reassuring to see the wee bub. Just dying to get the 20 week one now and find out the sex.
Not sure how to do the list thing but can someone please add me on if you update it again?
Thanks & hope you're all having a good Christmas-time x

josey · 29/12/2007 10:15

Welcome Deese20 and congrats

G43 Im not sure when the cut off point is, she told me I was still in time, and confused me even more by saying im 17+3(today) they are all telling me different things. Do you have a community MW as well or do you just get seen all the time at the hospital? I would maybe phone who ever is your carer and see.

My arm is bloody sore and back and blue I dont have good vains, but she was very kind to me, had to take the kids and ds nearly passed out lol.
I was a bit dissapointed she didnt try for the heart beat, I wont go back there till 28 weeks now.(unless I need to)
