Tessiebear, I am sorry you're feeling so terrible. I was slightly queasy this morning and felt very sorry for myself, so it must be really miserable feeling so yucky all the time.

((((((((hugs))))))))))

Take it easy - stay in your pjs all day I reckon. Hope it gets better very soon.

welshmum · 23/11/2004 12:39

Hello all, thanks for the good luck msgs for the scan. It's at 4pm and I am trying to be calm about it all. I really want to see the little one now and then I know it will feel a bit more real. Is anyone else feeling a bit less than enthusiastic about telling people? I have this urge to keep it all quiet for as long as I can - haven't even told my dad yet. Is this strange behaviour? I just can't figure myself out some days....
Hope all the sickness starts to even out a bit soon Tessiebear - when do you hit 3 months?
Welcome back Lipstick we missed you - I must admit I haven't been worrying about shellfish but it's not on my cravings list. Chicken and avocado sandwiches from Pret - now that's another matter!

Morning!! Have actually had some work to do today which makes a nice change - and as a result I haven't been sitting at my desk thinking about how sick I feel!!!

My assistant had her baby last night. It was such lovely news to get when I came into work this morning. Then I found out someone else I know is expecting - there are babys being produced all over the show here!!!!

Anyway, just trying to decide now what to have for lunch - am tempted to go to my fav cafe - only trouble is it's the other end of town and I can't be bothered to walk down there. Any suggestion?????
Oh, p.s. Am wearing my fat jeans today don't think my skinny ones will fit again!!!!!

welshmum · 23/11/2004 12:45

Chicken and avocado sandwich is going down very well at my desk sweetheart.
at the jeans. I gave in a bought some fat jeans at the weekend, they are lovely and comfy though. I'm wondering how long I can get away without maternity wear - hoping to make it through to 2005 at least.

sweetheart · 23/11/2004 12:49

welshmum.

We are going out on Saturday night and I'm thinking of buying something "maternity" to wear then - at least that way I'll have a hope of feeling pregnant instead of just fat!!!!!

I seem to have sprouted in the last 3 days - where has it come from

LipstickMum · 23/11/2004 12:58

Hiya Welshie!!! Good luck with your scan this afternoon you lucky thing, are you at the 12 week mark now?? Not feeling sick anymore? Good news about your brother and his wife, I expect when you told them they were in the midst of ttc, maybe you gave them good baby vibes with your news

I am not feeling hesitant about telling people, I want to tell everyone, but I'm being more cautious. Coming up to 10 weeks this week. I want my scan!!!! As my nausea is subsiding I am worrying and want 'proof'. I am still fitting into normal clothes but can't wait to be in maternity gear!!!

I made a lovely roast chicken last night licks lips I absolutely devoured all the crispy skin and crunchy roast potatoes, it was SOOO what I needed. I get slightly obsessed with food during pregnancy, I think we all do!!!

Have had one round of cheese on toast and will have the other in front of neighbours

teabelly · 23/11/2004 13:02

Afternoon all, don't know what's going on, have had my head down all morning doing work...work!! I'm going to have to sort this out, I'm not sure I like work cutting into my MN time, he he he

Sorry there are still some of you feeling bad...it will get better soon - promise. Talking of cravings I can't get enough pineapple at the moment, going through a litre of juice a day and at least two fresh ones a week I should be pleased about my healthy craving...trouble is I've also got mad cravings for chocolate and fried egg and chips so the weight is steadily creeping up

Sweetheart and your jeans, he he...I've also resorted to my fat jeans...and skirts, and baggy jumpers, and comfy knickers

Lua · 23/11/2004 13:18

Good afternoon everybody!
Wish I could say I have been busy this morning working... I just can't concentrate! Itr yhard, but I feel like I see the world through layers of shimmery veils these days. Anyone else feels like that?
Anyway, I am excited about telling people, but I have been received so flat.... I feel so bad for this little one! Most of the family, including my DH sometimes smile and say, yeah! been there, done that! I am already feeling very protective of this one! All these is not easying my worries of having a second child! Evrytime I think about the new baby, I see my DDs face! is creepy!

Count me in on the fat jeans club!

Welshmum! Godd luck this afternoon! Let us know how it went!

Uwila · 23/11/2004 13:41

Oh please, I brought out the fat clothes weeks ago. I'm going to have to break out the maternity tents before too long. But, I'm trying to suck it in and just look fat until such time when I break the happy news to my boss.

PArt of my problem is probably that everytime I sign on here I read something about food that makes me want to go downstairs and get some...

Hey did anyone see this about chocolate being good for stressed out mums to be . My husband sent it to me. Think he's trying to fatten me up so that he can look skinny in comparison. (Last time I was pregnant he went on a diet and lost weight as I found it -- jerk!)

welshmum · 23/11/2004 13:46

Thanks. Lipstick I'm very excited about my brother and his missus - especially as they think it was conceived in our spare bed on the day that we told them about us. How wierd is that?!
Sorry you haven't had the reaction to the news you've wanted Lua. That might be partly why I'm keeping things mostly to myself at the mo.
On the maternity clothes front I'm planning a couple of hours in Topshop with the old credit card - they've got some nice stuff. Fashion seems to be in our favour - lots of wrap dresses and floaty tops. Can't face it yet though.

Uwila...great article (well if you cut out the medics comments at the end!) I feel completely vindicated in my craving for the stuff now...my new mantra will be 'I have to have it, it's essential for my baby's mental wellbeing'

Uwila · 23/11/2004 13:59

And, has everyone seen this "in the news" thread on 4ight and how it helps baby to sleep through the night... This will be our most soought after subject about 3 weeks after birth of baby.

daylight

Uwila · 23/11/2004 14:00

Sorry, 4ight=daylight

teabelly · 23/11/2004 14:07

Uwila...can't access the link???

Tessiebear · 23/11/2004 14:15

Lipstick - i wish i had your roast chicken in front of me now! I too am totally obsessed with food! Good to know your sickness has subsided - gives me some hope!! Today i keep getting hot flushes - anyone else had them??

Uwila · 23/11/2004 14:18

Sorry...

In the news thread

sweetheart · 23/11/2004 14:35

Fantastic hint!!!!

And with our babies being born in June it will be a brilliant excuse to get out in the sunshine!!!

Uwila · 23/11/2004 14:40

Hi Emma, try Due in April 2005, part deux

Emma1404 · 23/11/2004 14:45

Think Ill stay here if thats ok with your girls. Anyway a little about me to inform you as im sure you people already know each other. 28 year old, married from Newmarket, Suffolk. First baby due on 15th April (day after my birthday ironically!!) Going for my 20 week scan on thursday and have thought long and hard about finding out the sex and have decided too. I work at Addenbrookes maternity hospital so its been great sharing my worries with the other mums and midwives. x

teabelly · 23/11/2004 14:47

thanks Uwila, got it now. I knew there was a vaild reason to laze about in the sunshine all day!

teabelly · 23/11/2004 14:54

Emma, hi there, good luck for thursday, you'll have to let us know what they say...I found out what sex ds was at my 20 week scan...had to I can't wait for surprises and would never have lasted until the birth not knowing! Have you done any of the chinese birth chart or old wives tales to see what they say it is?

Emma1404 · 23/11/2004 14:56

chinese birth chart??? whats that? my friend has done the wedding ring on a thread over the belly stuff. Bit worried as it went side to side AND round and round, so maybe they missed twins on my first scan!!!

MrsWednesday · 23/11/2004 15:02

Ooh great, important research involving lying around in the sun and eating chocolate! Fantastic news. Have already decided to forego apple as a mid-afternoon snack and tuck into a double-decker instead.

Welshmum, all the very best of luck for the scan this afternoon. Enjoy peeking at your baby. I feel similar to you about not telling people - even though I feel like I can officially say something after my scan on Sunday, I am still keeping it secret. Don't know why, just feel a bit shy about it.

I'm still struggling on in normal clothes but it's getting more uncomfortable every day. I need more long tops - they are great for 'after baby' bulge-hiding too. I can see a shopping trip coming on...sod Christmas presents for everyone else!

MrsWednesday · 23/11/2004 15:03

Forgot to say hello to Emma! >
