LM,

I'm soooo Your holiday sounds FANTASTIC!!!!!

I've been trying to convince dh that we need a winter sun holiday in January but he's not having any of it. We'll be lucky if we get a holiday at all next year and I'm really missing the sunshine!!!!

MrsWednesday · 22/11/2004 13:09

Katzguk, you're right it is cool, I hadn't realised that until I saw it written down like that! Thanks also Lua.

Welcome back Lipstickmum, sounds like a heavenly break.

Scraggyaggy · 22/11/2004 13:34

Hello all!

Am back and feeling gooooood!! These Pregnacare tablets are ab fab. I'm sure they're giving me a little boost!

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday with the parents and told them we had an announcement to make - well, they guessed straight away, although they were surprised we'd kept it a secret for so long. Anyway, 3 bottles of red, one bottle of white AND a bottle of champagne later I had to cart dp home. Talk about legless - he was in bed by 8.30pm sleeping like a baby!!!

Welcome Stal!

MrsW - Am v happy that all is well and you've been given peace of mind at last.

teabelly · 22/11/2004 13:36

Lipstick, I've just had a friend come back from a trip of a lifetime to Egypt too (hers was a nile cruise), so now I'm very very jealous of both of you

Uki, welcome aboard

Mrs W, I had my dates changed 3 times with ds, each time brought forward, and he came 1 day after the last revised date (9 days before the original). This time too they've revised my dates 3 times (bringing it forward by 12 days) so going on my past experience I'm going to stick with the new one.

welshmum · 22/11/2004 13:52

I've got no time other than to say hello all - can't even read back at the moment. It's strange but I miss everybody on here when I've got no time. Wish me luck for my scan tomorrow xxxx

Good luck for your scan Welshie xxx

MrsWednesday · 22/11/2004 15:21

Good luck Welshmum! Hope you'll be back to join us properly soon.

And good luck Bubbaloo and Megi for your scans this week too. Anyone else got one this week?

Uwila · 22/11/2004 15:24

Have fun Welshmum. Focus on what fun it will be to see the baby... not on worrying about what could be wrong. Just believe it's perfect and you'll have a nice time at the scan. And don't forget to ask for the pics!

katzguk · 22/11/2004 16:22

i'm going to try and upload my scan picture to the yahoo site tonight when i get home, anyone else fancy showing off there little bean?

katzguk · 22/11/2004 16:25

nqwww's ahhh so cute!!

have just uploaded a pic of my DD

LipstickMum · 22/11/2004 16:31

My scan isn't until the 14th of December ( I think) feels like aaaaaaages away but I will be 12 weeks I think.

Anyone else already feel like they've been pg for 9 months and not 9 weeks or however far along you are???? June feels like an age away!! Although I have to say, I am not prepared for another baby in the slightest, gear-wise I mean. Maybe the time will fly once I start preparing.

Just to refresh my memory. No shellfish allowed during pregnancy right? MIL wants to prepare supper on Friday, a prawn dish, but neither dp or I could remember if they were 'allowed' or not. I'm pretty sure not.

LipstickMum · 22/11/2004 16:32

Oh! And what's this Yahoo thing???

katzguk · 22/11/2004 16:35

nope no prawns allowed!!

the yahoo site is here

uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/mumsnetjune/

and you can jolin and add stuff

LipstickMum · 22/11/2004 16:37

sighs Dammit. Why is it all the good food????? Thanks Katz, I will have a look at the Yahoo site now....

Uwila · 22/11/2004 16:46

Am I the only one who doesn't follow that no shellfish rule. It just seems a bit paranoid to me. So long as it is thoroughly cooked, I eat whatever ate before I was fat --oh I mean pregnant.

sweetheart · 22/11/2004 16:48

Lipstickmum,

I'll be so glad when Christmas gets here. I'll have a week off work and be 12 week and hopefully feeling better. Plus then it's only 6 months till I get 6 months off work!!! HURRAY

Also because you accrue holiday pay whilst on maternity leave I get to squeeze 5 weeks of holiday into 6 months!!!!!!

ROLL ON 2005 !!!!!!!!!

MrsWednesday · 22/11/2004 17:05

I know what you mean Lipstickmum - it's 7 weeks since I found out I was pregnant but feels like 7 months. Or 7 years.

Have also been eating shellfish (cooked). And smoked salmon. I can't help it, it's been a big craving of mine [hangs head in shame].

Tessiebear · 22/11/2004 18:53

Evening all!
Welcome home Lipstick! - Glad you had a good break! My scan date is 13th Dec!!
Uwila - i am afraid i dont follow the no shellfish rule either - love prawns although i dont think i will eat any other shellfish. With DS1 i spent my honeymoon (20 wks pg) eating shellfish for every meal - didnt have a clue you wernt allowed it although i dont think they were as strict on it 7 yrs ago. My MW told me it is due to a high mineral content?!?!? Which does what exactly?

megi · 22/11/2004 19:07

I went out for a gorgeous meal at the weekend and I actually forgot the shellfish thing and I had prawns to start! I just go with the flow and not be silly -
Starting to feel a bit better - but still feel quite bad in the evenings - and still tired.
Can't wait for scan on Friday

LipstickMum · 22/11/2004 19:19

Oh Pooooo! I have just told MIL I can't eat prawns, although I will get a nice piece of organc fillet of beef instead Now I know you lot are eating shellfish if you like, I want toooooooooooooo stamps foot DP for once seemed really relaxed about it and said "well, Mum will cook them really well, it's probably ok". ! It's the most delicious dish, tiger prawns or any big prawn, cooked in the oven in a shallow dish with garlic and a little bit of chilli if you like. Then you eat them hot, with warm crusty french bread to dip in the lovely oil crying hysterically

Thanks for the welcome's back! Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this pg is lasting a looooong time!

BUBBALOO · 22/11/2004 20:07

evening all!
welcome back lipstick mum-sounds like you had a great time.
im finding that since ive found out im pg i cant stop eating bread and pickled onion monster munch.the monster munch are fine(even though im getting through quite a few)but i have loads of food intollerances including wheat, gluten and yeast so bread should be a big no no-cant help it though AND im enjoying things like sandwiches which i havent eaten for the last couple of years so it cant all be bad.
also found ive gone off tea which is a bit odd as i normally drink about 20 cups a day and funny enough chocolate doesnt seem to taste the same which is a bit worrying!!!
really looking forward to my first scan on weds-i think it might finally sink in once weve seen him or her with our own eyes as i dont think we're over the shock yet-and a nice one at that!!
good luck welshmum for your scan tomorrow and good luck megi for yours on friday-will be thinking of you both.

MrsWednesday · 23/11/2004 11:58

Blimey, where is everyone today?! Is everyone feeling too exhausted and ill to talk this miserable Tuesday morning?

Are you getting any reaction from eating all that bread Bubbaloo? I haven't had many cravings so far, just my smoked salmon 'problem' and an addiction to pomegranates. I was amazed to hear (from a bloke in Morrisons) that they are already out of season . So if there are any on sale where you live, just let me know and I'll drive down there immediately.

Love the photos on the MSN site! Will try my hardest to put one of my DS on, but I am hopeless with technology so it could take a while...

Tessiebear · 23/11/2004 12:05

Morning all!
Mrs Wed - i have definately been too tired and sick to log on so far this morning! WHen is this 3 months going to end! I had a day with hardly any sickness yesterday - but it has come back with avengence today - am feeling the sickest and most tired i have felt so far - me and DS2 are not even out of our pj's yet! Just eaten 3 slices of toast which has enabled me to type this ... am now off to find the nearest sofa .....

LipstickMum · 23/11/2004 12:09

Morning all!

I have been out doing sahm things with dd i.e. soft play, that's why I haven't been here. My nausea is wearing off and is being overtaken by constant, ravenous hunger 24 hours a day. In fact, I need to go and make some cheese on toast, I'll be back...
