Morning all!
Yesterday i did a post which had individual comments to everyone and took me about 20 mins to write and then the site went down on my PC and lost it.... am too tired and sick to write it again - just wish everyone a nice weekend
Good luck for tommorow Mrs W

MrsWednesday · 21/11/2004 10:12

Well, I'm back with good news!!! The little bean is now baby-shaped, with little arms and legs waving around. I'm so pleased, I keep wanting to cry! No explanation given for the bleeding, so it seems like it's just one of those things. And my date has been moved from 13th June to 7th June. I'm soooooooo happy, it suddenly seems like it's all real.

Glad your scan went well Lua, and a guess at the gender already, wow!

Count me in the hairy belly club....not attractive!

Thanks so much for all your good wishes and positive thoughts.

Lua · 21/11/2004 11:06

Hi Buballoo,

Forgive me in advance for the excess technical information, but I am an information freak...
So, the genitalia doesn't actually complete its developement until around 15 to 16 weeks. That is, you can't really see the genitals until then, Thus the 20 weeks is the ideal time to see it. Before they get too tight in there...
However,at 12 week they already have the genital buds... which is the beginning of it all. My technician took a good look at it and said that in her experience when the buds are clearly raised, its a boy and when is flat or depressed a girl. I don't think they usually look at it carefully, but we found out we were from the same place and strike a friendship so she gave me more details than I think she usually does... But hey you could ask yours to take a look, maybe they can make an informed guess...
I am not counting on it quite yet, but it is fun because I was convinced was going to be a boy so much that I was already referring to HIM. So if nothing else, I should revise that!
Good luck with your scan!!

Mrs.W I am so gald to hear your scan went well! It is lovely to see those little flailing legs and arms, isn't?!

Tessie, Hope you feel better!!!

BUBBALOO · 21/11/2004 17:13

thanks brilliant news mrs w-you must be over the moon!!
thanks for the info lua-i'll bear it in mind when i go for my scan on weds.
hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

Uwila · 22/11/2004 09:34

Ooooh Lua, I'm jealous. The doctor who did my scan said it was too early to tell, and that was that. So, I'll have to wait for the anomoly scan to find out the sex. Oh well, the baby is healthy and that's of course what really matters.

I also have to say that there was a world of difference in the quality of a FMC nuchal scan and an NHS nuchal scan. The fmc was so much more thorough and took about three times as long. They also plotted the heart beat, which the NHS didn't do. So, if anyone is debating whether to go there or to the NHS, I would certainly recommend the FMC.

sweetheart · 22/11/2004 09:40

Congrats MrsW and hope your feeling better today Tessiebear.

We had a whole weekend of decorating planned for this weekend and it did get done - unfortunatly I was feeling too unwell to help so poor old dh ended up doing it ALL on his own. I felt really guilty as it was me who instigated the insane decorating timescale in the first place. Still it's all done now and the carpet fitters are in today. So have a lovely evening ahead of me putting dd's bedroom back together!!!!

We promised her a beautiful new bedroom before we did the baby's room and now she has a room fit for a princess (well she will do by tonight!!!)

Hope everyone is well and feling a bit more talkative today (it's been so quiet in here recently!!!)

Lua · 22/11/2004 10:07

I agree with Uwila the Fetal madicine center was just amazing! I still don't understand how can they do it. They have the best machine and technicians and and amazingly fancy clinic and they cost almost half of any plave in manchester. I was very pleased and recommend to anyone!

So, has anyone told their families already! Since I finally saw the little guy/girl this friday I decided it was time to tell my parents. They live out of the country so I thought it would be fun to do something different... I dressed my DD in a shirt that says "big sister 2B" and got her to pose with this huge grin on. It was so cute. Send the picture in a e-mail with nothing else. So what did I get back? My dad responded she had a really nice grin! and that's it! My aunt , to which I also sent the picture, immediatly sent a reply saying congratulations. I am thinking about not saying anything else and see if they notice over xtmas whether I have a bump or not....
Anyone else with clueless parents?

Morning all,

Sorry I only get to come on here definitely on a mon-wed when I'm at work...ds makes it impossible to use the pc at home, and I'm too knackered when he's gone to bed!!

Stallazii welcome to our June club

Mrs W - re you're bleeding, I had afew bouts of bleeding with ds and they said it was cervical erosion - sounds worse than it is, he he it's just where the walls of the cervix fill with blood during pg and sometimes leak, can happen after physical activity like bed dancing, but can just happen for no apparent reason, depends on the thickness of each person's cervix - it's perfectly harmless and painless.

Sweetheart, your dizzy turn sounds horrid - hope you're feeling better now.

Scraggy, he he he, if we all said exactly how bad we felt sometimes there'd be no newbie mums-to-be...hope you feel better soon too

Lua glad your scan went well - did you take your dd? Did she enjoy it? I took my ds (2yrs 5mths) and he won't stop taking about the baby - unfortunately he now thinks all women have babies in their tummies, bless!

Better go, I have the most boring meeting with our auditors in a mo and I haven't prepared...been to busy catching up on here, he he. Catch you all later

sweetheart · 22/11/2004 11:30

Tessiebear - I haven't had my scan date through yet and I make myself 9 weeks.

I'm supposed to have been booked in for an early dating scan as the midwife thinks I might be 12 weeks already (I can't see it myslef but there we go!!!!!)

I hope they bloody hurry up and send me a date - it seems so dar away at the moment!!!!

Uki · 22/11/2004 11:56

Dear All
Hello, I have been lurking around for a while too scared to say anything. I am due on 10th June. I have had two failed preg this year, and am only now feeling a bit positive. Have been reading about all your morning/sick and been really jealous coz i don't seem to get it and know it's a good sign. Anyway just wanted to tell Stallanzi and katzguk that after 13 blood tests this year the reason you get bruising is that the puncture in the vein leaks blood into the surrounding tissue which basically means (they were not as gentle as they could of been) but you also need to keep firm pressure on the arm for a good while, keep your other hand on top for at least 10 minutes. I even had my arm bandaged after one blood test coz the doc didn't want to give me another bruise. I had one the size of a basketball, my whole arm. It looked ridiculous. Also Mrs W I have has slight cramping today and am glad you are ok. I had scan 3 weeks ago but I want another.
Bye for now from uki in Oz

MrsWednesday · 22/11/2004 12:23

Afternoon all,

Uki, hope you aren't too worried about the cramping. I spoke to the staff nurse at the hospital yesterday and she said it's completely normal, it's just growing pains. So, we should take it as a good sign that things ARE growing well inside us! Are you coming up for another scan soon?

Sweetheart, you shouldn't feel guilty about not helping with the decorating - after all you are busy growing a baby.

Teabelly, thanks for the info about the bleeding. Now that I've had the scan, I'm determined not to stress any more - for me it seems like bleeding is a good sign rather than something to panic about, as I also had it lots of times with my DS (but not with my missed m/c). So, this is the new, stress-free me from now on. Until I find something else to worry about....

Question for those who have their dates moved - are you going by your new date or your original date? I'm asking because I know when my last period was, when I ovulated etc, so I know when I conceived, so I know how many weeks I actually am. They've only changed my date because the baby () is measuring ahead. Like I said earlier, I do feel like I'm cheating by changing the date!

Mirage · 22/11/2004 12:35

MrsW,I think I am going on my dates,as I'm absolutey certain of them. With dd,me & the hospital differed on dates by 24hours & she arrived exactly when I thought she would.

Mirage · 22/11/2004 12:39

Welcome Uki-try not to worry about the m/s.I had none at all with dd & so far, only felt a little bit queasy this time.

Good luck

MrsWednesday · 22/11/2004 12:43

Thanks Mirage. My DS measured a week ahead all the way through (even though I was sure of my dates) and he arrived 10 days early so perhaps I should go with my new date this time round.

Uki, sorry I didn't see that bit of your message. I also haven't had any sickness at all, and I didn't have any with my DS either. It seems that some people just don't get it.

So who's next for scans then? Bubbaloo, you've got one on Wednesday haven't you?

LipstickMum · 22/11/2004 12:45

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

I'm back from my hols Not only will I have a zillion posts to catch up with, but MN has lots of new little bits and pieces to get to grips with. I am now 'logged in' will other posters know I am online here now?? Cool!

Holiday was fab! A week of Winter sun in Egypt. Did nothing all week except drag ourselves to breakfast, the beach, lunch, siesta, then more beach and dinner. Was bliss! I didn't have to cook or clean!!

How have you all been??? How's the sickness? Mine is ok, still here but just now I managed some cheese on toast which is quite amazing because that is tasty and not the normal bland stuff I have been able to stomach lately. Fingers crossed it's coming to an end

Going to make a vague attempt to catch up now

Lua · 22/11/2004 12:51

Mrs.W, if you are sure of yourd dates I'll keep that one in mind. Babies can always come early, there is no planning for that. But what worried me with my DS is that when they changed my due date to a week early, the docs start pressuring me to have an induction a week earlier. I had to fight really hard! Luckily I had a nice mw, that trusted me and changed my due date. My DD was 12 days late by my date, and 19 by theirs! But she came out normally and was 7.5lb. Some people like to get induced by the end to meet babies sooner. I understand that, but I am really paranoid about induction, so am insisting this time around to keep my original due date!

katzguk · 22/11/2004 12:58

i'm going with my new dates rather than the date the GP worked out with his dial thingy. I'm not totally sure of the start date of my last AF, it was around the time my MIL died so days rolled into one.

DD came 21 days earlier than the date a got from an early scan i had in the USA.

So i guess this baby will appear when its good and ready

Besides new due date is cool 07/06/05!!!
