hi all, haven't been on for a few days due to hectic situation having half moved house/boiler breaking/DH away with work.
am really worried as had some very light spotting yesterday and my morning sickness disappeared a few days ago.
am still knackered and starving and light headed but i can't help but think the worst.
am seeing midwife on 7th and will hopefully get a scan date shortly after.
x

MINNIE1 · 01/12/2007 12:31

Icklegem
I waited till AF came and till cycle got back to normal. Once thats sorted there should be no stopping you.

Feb,
I had a bleed with my last DD, I used to go to the A&E and explain symptoms and they would give me a scan.

isaidhohoho · 01/12/2007 13:10

icklegem - I had a mc at about 5.5 weeks (very early) and my gp said I could try straightaway.
So, I did and 6 weeks later I found out I was pg with DS2.

The only prob was I was not sure of dates, but early scan sorted that out.

icklegem · 01/12/2007 15:51

Thank you all for your advice ladies. Will hopefully be preg again soon then. I know I'm going to drive myself mad with worry now though

feb - I had spotting and a slightly heavier bleeding on and off with ds 2 up until 16weeks. Hope all is okay for you. Have fingers crossed xx

pigleychez · 01/12/2007 16:37

fingers crossed for you Feb... sure it will be fine.

Icklegem- good luck in trying again. Im sure youll be pregnant again in no time.

Went swimming this morning. Did 20 lengths which was great but tiring.
Been wrapping up xmas presents all afternoon and now im absoluetly knackered!

Just said to DH that I really feel like going to bed right now.
Feels really lazy though! Think swimming took it out of me today.

Hope everyones well

santascRUMPELedsuit · 01/12/2007 18:24

ICKLEGEM - I had a missed m/c at 11 weeks, had medical termination, scan showed 2 weeks later I was ovulating, 2 weeks later period, then fell pg with DD the following cycle.
I seem to fall pg very easily though - lucky I know. My cycle is uber regular too - soon as AF appeared after having LO, it was back to normal.
I think you need time for your body to regulate after a m/c and importantly for your emotions to calm down a bit - it is so draining both physically and emotionally.

Good luck - sending you lots of positive fertility vibes.

PIGLEY - well done on the swimming. I went to bed at 2.30 with Lo for an hour as was knackered and feeling rough - no shame in that. You are doing a very important job and if you need rest then go for it I say! Did you not find you were starving after swimming?

Who mentioned dolly mixtures earlier? Now I have been wanting them all day DH was shopping and somehow confused dolly mixtures with liquorice allsorts

Well I am off to collapse...
Have a great Saturday night all

pigleychez · 01/12/2007 20:05

Yeah Santa I was starving!

DH bless him made me 2 yummy Paninis when we got in for lunch. Ooozing with bacon and melted cheese!! Yummy

Ive found that cheese has become a definately liking. Nibbling on Crackers and cheese quite abit.

Dh will be moaning soon cause we are getting through an awful lot of cheese and I only like the expensive extra mature canadian stuff.
Oh well... Im worth it!

Breizhette · 01/12/2007 20:09

Good evening,

We're all still miserable with the cold in my household. At least DH and DD can take coughing mixture and stuff, I can't
Getting quite excited as my first scan is on Monday morning so it's coming up fast.

Pigley, you remind me that I have tons of presents to wrap and post. Must start tomorrow!

Mummywannabe · 01/12/2007 20:56

That was me with the dolly mixtures!

Thanks for the advice shortshafe only just popped on so bit behind wih thread!

Had first appointment with gp this week but he did my booking in appointment (gave me my anti-natal notes etc), does that mean i won't see a midwife in the near future? Sorry if dim question!

Hope everyone else is ok?

isaidhohoho · 01/12/2007 20:59

Might be different where you live but I saw my doc this week (week9) and he refers all the info to the hospital and midwife.
So I should get a midwife visit, and a scan before I am 12 weeks.

Mummywannabe · 01/12/2007 21:03

thanks isaidhohoho thats what i was expecting to happen. my friends first gp appointment was really short, form filling etc, mine was 40 minutes! Guess i will have to wait and see!

Verso · 01/12/2007 21:07

Cheese! Those 'cheese melts' biscuits are nice - can't remember who makes them. Can't believe you're all talking about dolly mixtures - got me wanting them too now!

Been feeling verrrrrry sick today. I haven't been sick, but have been burping sick (nice). Bleeeeeuuuurrrggghhh.

coolkat · 01/12/2007 21:16

Hi Ladies

Yes we have bought a cage, feel a little better about the whole pup thing today.

I am getting brown discharge and have been for a few days. I have looked on internet and I bled with DD so just keeping fingers crossed. I do not think I will see anyone til after christmas so would you phone and speak to doctor or wait?

My appetite has not been to bad although had take away pizza tonight mmmmm.

Sorry for me post I hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend. X

Mummywannabe · 01/12/2007 21:19

coolkat - i would phone to speak to gp for my own peace of mind. Can't offer any words of wisdom as first pregnancy, but hope all is ok.

pigleychez · 01/12/2007 21:43

Sorry ladies, this our first baby so have nothing to compare with.. so hoping you can help.

9 weeks pregnant but friends/family who know have all commented my bump is quite big for the number of weeks. Its got me quite parniod now as there are twins in my family.
I had lost a dress size for my wedding in June and was a nice size 12, even a 10 in some things and had a pretty flat tummy. My tummy has grown pretty quickly.

I have my booking appointment with my midwife on the 18th and dont want to ask her about it and look silly/paranoid for no reason.

does anyone else have a bump?

Heres some pics of mine:

me

Mummywannabe · 01/12/2007 21:48

Pigleychez - i have had comments about my bump too, and a few double takes at work. Have to say yours is more impressive than mine though, although i'm a week behind you. Ask your midwife, they must get these types of questions all the time. My mum tells me she carried like me and i've seen pictures of her and she was HUGE! Guess we are all different. I also lost weight for our wedding in Sept and think thats why it notices more.

Verso · 02/12/2007 06:22

Anyone heard from expat? Just saw her on another thread and I think she was implying her pg is ok after all!

coolkat · 02/12/2007 08:25

Morning Ladies,
Wow impressive bump, I am like you I tend to fill out almost immediately, sort of thicken!!

Wel things not to brill in Coolkat's camp, brown discharge turned a little red last night and I hae really bad stomach cramps. Me and DH will phone doc's tomorrow for peace of mind. Trying to have the what will be will be attitude but its proving hard. I appreciate lots of people bleed during pregnancy - I did with DD all those years ago but I don't remember having cramps as well or as much as this. Just want to fast forward a bit!

Its pouring it down here so looks like visit to the Christmas Victorian fair could be off so stuck here whilst DH is on a training exercise.

EEC · 02/12/2007 08:34

Coolkat - really hoping all OK for you. Probably good idea to rest rather than going to Victorian fair anyway - although it sounds like fun.

Pigley - wouldn't worry about bump. People show in all sorts of different ways. I have also "spread" alot and am only 8 weeks. Still, don't worry about asking midwife. That's what she's there for. She won't think your stupid whatever you ask - you won't be the first!

Mmmm what to eat next...

min912 · 02/12/2007 10:14

Fingers crossed for you Coolkat. If you get more concerned today perhaps consider going to A&E?? Only for your own peace of mind.

Carrs make those cheese melt and just plain melt wafers. Very yummy and also good for that general 'I feel sick but I'm not actually going to be sick' feeling.

I am feeling paranoid about showing already too (second time around so I think then you tend to show earlier as stomach muscles are now non-existent) especially towards the end of the day, my clothes feel really tight then. We are off to meet brother and SIL for lunch today and I am in hold-everything-in knickers in an attempt to disguise any signs... SIL got suspicious last time around when I didn't drink one time we met up. I would like to say in my own defence that this actually isn't an unusual occurrence, but she seemed to think it was.. hmm!

paulaplumpbottom · 02/12/2007 11:36

You girls are showing awfully quick. Luckily I've non at all yet. In fact because I've lost weight I don't think anyone will have guessed

Breizhette · 02/12/2007 12:13

I have absolutely no muscles left in my stomack whatsoever so it's hard to see what's the flab andf what's the bump, but I think I can feel the bump sticking out already.
Going to have a nice Sunday afternoon by the fire here, weather is just atrocious outside.
Coolkat, take care.

paulaplumpbottom · 02/12/2007 14:19

I have more pink discharge. I was feeling better because I hadn't had any in about a week. I know its nothing to worry about but I don't like it. I thought once I got to nine weeks I would relax a bit, but I still feel nervous about having a miscarriage. I know all the signs are good. Why can't I stop worring?

sweetkitty · 02/12/2007 15:30

hi all weel I had 13 hours sleep last night, we put a DVD on a bit nefore 9 and I was sleeping in about 10 minutes on the sofa, DP sent me upstairs. Fell asleep again but woke up at 5 with really bad stomach pains, couldn't move, they were so painful. Slept on and off until about 10 when they seemed to go, I think it was trapped wind or something as the pains were quite high up. Also had a tiny string of red blood when I wiped yesterday about a cm long but nothing since then. Oh this pregnancy lark is making me a mad woman.

minnie - happy birthday to your DD for yesterday, one is such a milestone, is she walking yet? Seems to be they are 1 then toddling and they don't seem like babies anymore.

coolkat - I would go see your GP and/or EPAS unit if you have one. Always better to get any bleeding in pregnancy checked out, at least you will get a scan get to see the baby and reassure yourself everything is OK.

paula - congrats on getting to 9 weeks but sorry you have had some bleeding as well, same as coolkat better to get yourself checked out.

Breizhette - I am the same stomach muscles shot to pieces, I am a size 8 don't have much of a tummy but I look about 4 months gone, I have lost a few pounds not eating much recently but am not too bothered am sure will make up for it soon.

Hello to everyone else as well x

santascRUMPELedsuit · 02/12/2007 16:15

Hi All,

COOLKAT - I would definitley go the early prgnancy unit opr A 7 E if I were you - just to put your mind at rest i f not you will be worried sick and that won't help you or LO at all.

PAULA - I know exactly what you mean -every time I go to the loo I am terrified of seeing blood. I am sure everything will be okay this time around for you - if it was just a teency bit of blood it could have been cervical erosion or just a burst blood capillary. You can't help worrying though - it's awful isn't it? Possibility for you too SWEETKITTY.

FEB - apparently it is quite common for MS to come and go so try not to worry too much.

PIGLEY - you have alovely teeny bump - looks like you have just had a big dinner

My tum is still a bit baggy from having LO so no doubt will stretch well this time. I managed to get no stretch marks last time so I am hoping I will get away with it this time. Mind you my tum was a good bit smaller to begin with with DD Did get a big stretch mark on my boob though. I got terrible pigmentation last time too.

MIN912 - my tum is huge by eveing too - I think I have 3 or 4 in there

Had a terrible night can hardly breathe with this cold and LO was coughing. Had to waken up DH at 4am to see to her as I felt so sick I couldn't move. Felt hellish this morning too - had to bring in the big bucket! Havn't been sick as yet but I think all this catarrh is making it worse and lack of sleep doesn't help either. Still DH looked after LO this morning so I could have along lie and rest so feeling much better now.

I have my acupuncture tomorrow night so I am hoping it really helps.

I always get freezing cold hands and feet when pg, my nails go blue, all the blood must be redirected inside to grow the placenta and baby. Anyone else got this just now?

Hope you are well and Lo's are growing healthy and strong inside.xxxx
