Sweetkitty I'm with you, but I have the opposite problem I toss and turn till about 5 and then fall asleep. My mind just races and I can't get comfy

Breizhette · 30/11/2007 12:12

I definitely have pregnancy brain, I had bookmarked the old thread and it took me until now to realise there was a new thread. Doh!

sfxmum, take care of yourself. xx

isaidhohoho · 30/11/2007 13:47

I thought I had a bit of a pot belly showing this morning, but at toddler group someone asked if I had lost weight!!

Mummywannabe · 30/11/2007 14:27

So sorry to hear your news sfx mum

I'm feeling so so sick still, managing it better though, lots of dolly mixtures seem to help! (maybe thats where the tummy has come from .

Still all seems a little surreal. Thought i would be more excited but spend my whole time worrying or feeling so sick/tired, but reading what others have gone through makes me realise how lucky i am.

I get a strange pain in my groin - quite sharp but not constant - should i be worried? worry about everything but still!

cass66 · 30/11/2007 15:18

sweetkitty. it's called your uvula. (the hangy thing at the back of your throat.) I hope it's feeling better! try gargling with soluble paracetamol.

feeling irritable, sick and tired and grumpy with a nagging headache. have just spent a lovely lunchtime with 3 friends who have all just had 3rd babies. it doesn't seem real that that will be me in 9 months time. another of my friends is also preg with her 3rd, so there will be 2 of us, which will be nice.

All this talk of scans, I'm not sure I'll get a 12 week dating scan. reading the stuff from the GP implies that unless there's a reason (unsure of dates etc), you only have a detailed scan at 20weeks. this happened in my last pregnancy, but we were living in a different area then. it didn't really feel real until that 20 week scan last time, despite feeling movements before then!

I think NOT having a detailed scan as routine is very wrong. I blame the government.

Hi all, I'm joining in with the very sleepy and feeling sick but not actually being sick club.

Frogmarsh - I did a lot of lurking first time around and got some great advice and tips from all the lovely mn'rs! Wanted to let you know we have a very hyper jack russell who is 4 - she has worshipped dd since she was born - used to love to lick her feet and now dd is 13 months, they run around together and play great. A tip someone gave me is take a blanket or similar that baby has been wrapped in so the dog can get used to babys smell (assuming your hospital birthing, if home birth then presume would not be an issue as dog would be in the house anyway) We also set up carrycot and baby bouncer the week before due date so the dog got used to them.

I'm seeing midwife for booking in on 13th Dec, I'll be 8 weeks then, fingers crossed.

shortshafe · 30/11/2007 19:22

sorry - wanted to add for mummywannabe - I had sharp pains in my groin lots with last pg and with this one - iirc they ease off after the first 12 weeks to be replaced with other sorts of pains! Nothing to worry about x

Hi Ladies
he is a King Charles Spaniel and although he is gorgeous to look at I am having severe doubts. Phoned DH and cryed saying why did I agree to it!! I am sure it is hormones, I mean we have the room, we have hard floors and I am sure he will soon be house trained. DH is home for 6 out of 8 days but I just feel I have made an error DD loves him.

I am feeling fine, blitzed my Xmas shopping today and I thought that I may write some cards this weekend, my SIL informs me she has done all hers

Don't forge your advent calendars!!!

Sorry for all me post.
Welcome Shortsafe.

frogmarsh · 30/11/2007 19:57

Thanks for the doggy advice shortsafe, i will definitely remember that one when baby comes home. The mad whippet actually loves children generally, but can be a bit over enthusiastic with it!

Felt really tired today, actually slept for an hour on the sofa at work! Feeling a lot better after pigging out on fish and chips for dinner

frogmarsh · 30/11/2007 20:02

Coolkat, i know puppies can be very hard work but it soon passes and it is all worth it, and if your DH is home a lot then he can take on most of the responsibility. Try not to worry about it.

sorry all my posts seem to be about dogs not babies!!!

That sounds lovely, I can't even look at food

MrsWednesday · 30/11/2007 20:18

I had fish and chips for dinner too! Probably wasn't the wisest idea given the current state of my skin (have broken out in teenage acne this week).

Meant to say congrats to you Sweetkitty, that's a relief. Saw your early morning message when I was on the train down to London at 6am today (bloody work!). Was reassured to read that I'm not the only one having problems sleeping - I'm exhausted all day but as soon as it's bed time my mind starts whirring and I can't sleep, very annoying.

Breizhette, I did the same - bookmarked the old thread and couldn't work out why no one had posted all day

Shortsafe, I'm having lots of twinges in that area too, plus ongoing period pain-type cramps too.

I've decided to pay for an early scan, can't wait until my nuchal to find out everything is ok so we're going next Friday morning. Arrrgh, will be a nervous wreck by then!

Right, I'm off to eat chocolate.

MrsWednesday · 30/11/2007 20:20

(obviously I can't stop eating either...fish and chips...then chocolate for pudding!)

cass66 · 30/11/2007 20:59

have just pinched a pack of jelly sweets from the trick-or-treat bowl. luckily for me we didn't get many visitors last month!!! funnily enough seem to have gone off chocolate. water and jelly sweets for me. they are bad for the kids teeth anyway!

Verso · 30/11/2007 21:12

i have children youngest is 1.10 very happy to be here!!!

shortshafe · 30/11/2007 21:37

Hi PaulaYates and welcome

CoolKat - do you have crate (cage/bed it can't get out of) for the puppy? It saved our life in the early days and the dog still sleeps in it now - It really helped us with house training - loads of stuff about crate training on the internet, not everyone agrees with it but it did it for us.

I'll add my food sins to the list - I opened and ate all of the advent calendar I bought for dd - had to replace it this afternoon Chocolate is soooo irresistable atm, I wasn't like this last time!
