I cant wait for DS to walk, he's too heavyto carry round. he's 15 month nearly, and takes about 6 steps....

EEC I know how you feel about not wanting to go out. I feel awful, I'm rubbish company and I look a kind of 'John Major' grey! (and there are the spots of course!) I also realy can't wait to start telling people and I know I won't be able to keep my mouth shut!

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 03/12/2007 16:15

Hi, just butting in because I saw your message sweetkitty & wanted to say what brill news Can´t believe you don´t get a 20 wk scan though. Have just had mine & it´s another boy (Sam) & he´s perfect (It´s me Soph73 btw!)

isaidhohoho · 03/12/2007 17:31

Santascrumpel - don't worry about the hand foot and mouth - DS1 had it when I was about 10 weeks with DS2 and the doc said it was definitely not a virus pregnant women had to worry about.

Sorry things weren't conclusive for you today Breizhette, the next 10 days are going to really drag aren't they? Still, it does sound positive. Will keep fingers crossed for you.

EEC, that's exactly how I feel! I'm getting more tired as time goes on, and all I want to do is stay in the house, preferably on the sofa with chocolate close at hand.

I'm another one with a huge stomach by the end of the day - I've tried holding it in but it just makes me feel queasy and breathless.

Welcome to Jodie

Happy birthday to your DD MINNIE1.

Anyone else's DH having phantom pregnancy symptoms? My DH has suddenly started eating loads, complaining about being tired all the time and was even sick tonight (primarily because he ate too much!). It's starting to annoy me as I don't think I'm getting the sympathy I deserve

have discovered nairns ginger oat biscuits. a bit dry but fab first thing in the morning. and am currently trying not to eat a whole ginger fruit cake. my nausea is getting worse. this is worse than my last 2 pregnancies. evenings are worse, going to bed feeling sick dizzy and tired but not being able to sleep. at least I'm not throwing up, but I feel so crap, it's marring my excitment about being pregnant.

I will tell my parents this weekend as they are coming to stay and will notice me not drinking! but I don't really feel elated about telling everyone. quite hard to admit this, especially here with so many people having problems conceiving. This pregnancy was planned and wanted, and took longer achieving than I expected. I just don't feel elated and excited as I feel I should and did before.

Am I just being tired hormonal and pregnant??

..runs off to get more ginger cake.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 03/12/2007 21:23

Yes I think it is the homones - I've been exactly the same and feel like a right ungrateful cow. Homeopathy helped me last time and I'm wondering whether I should take myself off for an appointment pretty smartish. It's dreadful isn't it? All sorts of guilty thoughts that you don't mean as badly as they sound. My first PG was absolutely fine but I'm not enjoying this one . Poor you I do sympathise!

min912 · 03/12/2007 21:39

This is my second time and I'm definitely not as excited... I think there's a strong element of knowing what is coming next (sorry first timers!!) i.e. getting huge, painful indigestion, swollen ankles... which all seemed exciting first time round and like 'proper' pregnancy but now a lot more like a pain in the arse. (Oh, and there's that too...)

DH: Wasn't there anything positive about being pregnant?
Me: Other than the baby at the end of it, absolutely not.
DH:

So I don't think it's a lack of maternal instinct or anything like that, just a natural reaction to a situation you've already experienced.

Kind of like when you fall in love, you don't feel the same 2 years later but that doesn't mean you don't still want to be together. (Hopefully!)

Jodie I feel quite reassured that your small man is only taking a few steps, DS is almost 13mths and not even pulling himself up yet, saw colleague's baby few days ago who is only 3 weeks older and running round the whole house, performing much more complex fine motor skills... keep telling myself they are all different but it's hard not to make comparisons!!

Bought some ingredients today to make gingerbread - ostensibly for xmas sweet treats, to an extent as a morning sickness remedy, realistically just as an excuse to stuff my face...

sweetkitty · 03/12/2007 21:51

min and Jodie - don't worry about your LOs not walking yet, they all do it at their own pace and when they are all 18 months you would never know who walked first, I always remember DD2 was racing down the street and across the road neighbours who have 1 PFB DD asked when she had started walking and I said oh a few months ago now and their DD wasn't walking at nearly 16 months (a month older than DD2) it was funny though as their DD was all pink, pristine and frilly with pink patent shoes on and DD2 who has never been pink, pristine or frilly in her life came running over, trainers all dirty old pair of jeans and a t-shirt with half the garden on it.

I agree I'm on number 3 and all I can see stretching ahead is the getting fat and uncomfortable, SPD, heartburn and insomnia. I hate pregnancy (there I'll admit it) I wish someone would just give me a newborn. I am trying to think oh this is the last one enjoy it but it's not working. I'm sorry to say you will all be utterly sick of my moaning and will probably be all ignoring me come July.

shrooms · 04/12/2007 00:02

Hello - hope you are all doing well!
Things going okay here with the lo and not much to report there. However have had a fairly stressful day with dd, 6 who has a heart condition and was not too well at school today with a tachycardic spell. She is okay now and sleeping well, but I am not too pleased about her getting another episode after not being controlled for that long after the first problem. Oh well... tomorrow is another day and I'm sure she'll be fine - it's just a worry isn't it

isaidhohoho · 04/12/2007 09:37

I've been telling people that pregnancy is pretty boring alot of the time - and most people look at me as if to say "but surely it is the most magical, fascinating, natural experience of your life."

Well, yes, but does it have to take soooo long?

Sorry - I too am getting fed up with not alot happening except feeling crappy. Apart from family I have hardly told anyone because, perhaps cos this is number 3, I'm just not finding it that remarkable.

I JUST WANT MY SCAN!!!!!! Then I will know for def there is a real live baby in there and I can get excited.

Feel like stalking the postman to find out why he hasn't delivered me an appointment letter from the hospital yet.

MrsWednesday
Thanks, Just don't know where the time went. I remember you from a previous thread. Can't Think if it was TTC of Ante-natel.

cass66
No total normal i think, When i was PG with DD1, she was planned but when i fell PG that was it all excitment went. Then the bump started to grow and it all came back. We do tend to be all over the place when were PG. I am not really enjoying this PG mainly because i have been so sick and in hospital but once bump comes and people know about the PG it will get better i hope. Sweetkitty you said it well, I would also love the newborn to be handed to me.

shrooms
Hugs hope it stays at bay, its on your mind all the time i'm sure.

All well here, eating is getting better, just really tired all the time. My bump will be a long way of as i am down to 8st don't think i have ever been this thin! and weight is not going on! So i am really eating against my will. NICE!

min912 · 04/12/2007 09:53

Can you imagine what we would be like if we were living in the days (only about 30yrs ago I guess) before scans and accurate pregnancy tests!! I think I'd be 'just because I have a massive bump and appear to be in labour, I'm still not convinced that I am in fact pregnant'.

HoHoHo you've just reminded me actually, I'm now 7 weeks and GP said I should get appt with midwife for 8 weeks. Hmmmm... will generously give them a couple more days!!

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 10:37

Min
No pain releif AGHHHHHH I remember my mom had to pay for an epidurel!! Near £200 which was alot.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2007 11:04

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 11:18

Welcome Zinnia

zinnia · 04/12/2007 11:57

Not at all so far, thank god - a bit out of sorts sometimes and tired, but otherwise OK. Of course, as I am warned by knowing friends, it could strike at any time!

lazyhippo · 04/12/2007 11:57

Hi, I'm also new and due at the end of July. First pregnancy at 37. I've found this site great at reassuring myself that feeling so awful isn't unusual. Thank you to everyone!!
