A sczan on Christmas Eve? What a lovely way to start Christmas

pigleychez · 23/12/2007 12:00

Hi everyone,

Very quiet on here.. Wishing you all a lovely christmas. Just think we are sharing it with an extra special little someone this year!

Good luck to all those having scans. I have mine New years eve and cant wait!!!

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 23/12/2007 13:27

Feeling tired but happy with Xmas eve tomorrow. Off carol singing in a few hours - unfortunately won't be able to warm up with vats of mulled wine, but should be fun. DH being fab and playing endless star war games so I can put my feet up.

Happy Christmas to all. I hope the bump likes mince pies...

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 23/12/2007 13:32

Gosh it is quiet on here today.
Stilk got to work tomorrow and then I am finished until January 7th. Can't wait.
Hope everyone is feeling festive and we all enjoy ourselves despite the MS rearing it's ugly head every now and then.

paulaplumpbottom · 23/12/2007 14:15

I wish I was going caroling

mrsclairet · 23/12/2007 15:50

Hi, I have got my scan tomorrow and I can't wait to show all my family the scan pictures. I've also got to have my blood taken for the triple test (I think). Then we've got about a 150 mile journey to do, I hope it's not going to be too busy. We're meant to be staying with my sister and her fiancee but apparently they've both come down with colds / flu so it could be interesting!
Hope everyone has a good christmas.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 23/12/2007 18:34

Best wishes for everyone having scans tomorrow and the near future great way to start the festivities.

I have been on bed all day with a D&V bug, nasty one at that DP has been a star though he's done everything with the girls and I have been left to die quietly in a corner. Hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug and I will be fighting fir tomorrow.

SPD not bad at all few twinges so far

mcchesers · 23/12/2007 21:39

Good Lord Kitty! Get well soon, I really hope that passes. I'm just coming around from the cold from hell and getting a wee bit of my voice back just in time to go out of town tomorrow.

Piggly - good luck at your scan!

Everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Keep growing strong and healthy beans

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 23/12/2007 21:53

enjoy scan hatrick - and piggly did not realise it was yours too x

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 24/12/2007 06:33

Woo hoo it's Christmas Eve. Have got my friends BBQ to go to tonight. It's his one contribution to entertaining the whole year for our little niche of friends and it's sort of become tradtional for him to have a BBQ. We have a great laugh so I am expecting this year to be no different.
Felt rought yesterday pm. All of a sudden dizziness and lightheadedness has kicked in and it's been quite frightening. A little bit worried about driving into work this am, but I feel fine at the moment. What was that all about? I'd just had my roast beef dinner, so blood sugars must have been ok.
Even lying down I could feel the room spinning. Wouldn't mind but I haven't had any alcohol in months! Room still like a merrygoround when I went to bed.
Anyone else experienced this?
Good luck to those with scans today and also to anyone else travelling. Hope the roads aren't too busy for you. And take care.
Hopefully I'll catch up later, just off to go to work. Oh the joys.............
LLxx

Mummywannabe · 24/12/2007 09:19

Libralady - i had bad bout of dizzyness yesterday, had funny turn in supermarket. Seems MS has slowed and got this instead. I think mine was down to a late night and not a huge breakfast. Hope you contunue to feel bit better.

ocomeALLYebabies · 24/12/2007 11:10

libra - could be low blood presure. i get it all thruogh pregnancy, endless bouts of dizziness and then culminating in fainting! nice! still far healthier to be low than high!!

only 4 days till my scan and MY BIRTHDAY yipeeeeee

we did our food shopping this morning at 5:30am with both kids in tow. was really good, only about 20 people in store but there was only about 15turkeys left and 'apparently' that was their quota, but i very much doubt that. just sent DF out to get other supplies, dont expect him back before midnight with the state of the shops round here!! lol

hope you all have a fab christmas and that any sickness or cold passes (esp. to you kitty)

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 24/12/2007 11:36

Well went into work for 7.30. Went and saw OH Nurse at 8.30 and she check my BP which was fine so she called the Mat Hosp for advice. As I am under 18 weeks they didn't want to know . She called my Drs and managed to get me an appt for 10am. Saw a lovely lady GP who diagnosed labrynthitis or menieres disease which are quite common in pregnancy due to added fluids in the body. Affects the inner ear and balance so vertigo, dizziness, nausea and vomiting are commonplace. She has prescribed some tablets which are the 2nd most prescibed for MS so hopefully can help combat that as well. Now sat at home waiting for the medication to take effect. Just need to decide whether or not to go back into the office this pm. We've only got a skeleton staff today and I left just 2 (out of a team of 9) dealing with everthing in my absence.

hatrick - glad baby is OK and remember it's only a RISK of Downs, don't know anything at this stage, try not to worry. You sound quite upbeat though, I'm glad. I think we all sit tight until we have the LO in our arms.

Libralady - hope you are back from work and relaxing (as if I know) I never knew about dizziness this early on in pregnancy but now you mention it I have been getting a little bit now and again.

Ally - I did some last minute Christmas shopping at 5.30am this morning as I couldn't sleep and I was not the only one.

Feeling much better today just back to normal level of feeling sick this morning which is good. By the scan I had at 8 weeks I will be 12 weeks tomorrow so hopefully it should start to ease off a bit, heres to the seond trimester ladies. Am still going to scream for a scan this week though.

Merry Christmas to you all hope you all have great ones (MS permitting) xxx

FrannyandZooey · 24/12/2007 18:25

Just wondering - how fat are people getting?

My stomach looks enormous, especially when I lie down, and I am only 12 weeks today

is this too many pies or second baby crap tummy muscle syndrome?

santascRUMPELedsuit · 24/12/2007 19:41

Hi All,

Merry Christmas for tomorrow ladies !

KITTY - glad you are feeling better - you have had a real run of bad luck so hopefully the New Year will be especially good to you!
SPD is really sore so my symapthies. I had it with Lo and it took 6 months after her birth to go, as did the carpal tunnel syndrome!

LIBRA - oooh! Horrible for you - hope it improves soon.

HATRICK - hope it all works out okay for you. They can never tell for sure unless they do the CVS can they? My friend had a LO about 3 months ago and she was born with Downs - they had absolutely no idea and were really shocked. So all the tests didn't give them an inkling. She is a beautiful baby though. I tend to believe you get what you can cope with in this life and that LO chooses you for a reason .

I am 10 weeks now and have gone from a size 14 waist to size 18! I haven't put any weight on but my tum is HUMUNGOUS! particularly at night - full of wind
I have been eating a lot of rubbish though! I never eat McDonalds or stuff like that but when pg I occassionally NEED a big Mac

I have been feeling marginally better the last 2 days - the sickness is coming in waves now rather than being perpetually there. I think I must be growing a boy this time as it is quite different from my last 2 pg. I have decided this is it though. No more after this one.

LO had me up from 2.45am to 4am this morning - again! Don't know what is up with her just now. She just keeps waking up and needing a bottle/cuddle. Thank goodness Dh is off as it means I can have along lie and I had to go to bed at 3pm for an hour today as I was just so tired.

PAULA - congrats on your 12 weeks - great news!

I often get dizzy when pg. I usually have very low blood pressure nayway but when early pg it drops even lower. With LO when I got to 8 months it strated creeeping up and up and up! I ended up having to stay in the house and do nothing for the last 4 weeks or they would have taken me in!

Have fun tomorrow and look after those LO's inside and out!

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 24/12/2007 21:45

hatrick i am glad your scan went well and just the one little froggy in there! as you know i am much older than you and our ds risk is therefore high to start with .dp and i discussed this and are of the mind que sera sera - we will be blessed whatever our baby brings.i feel so happy that dp voiced his opinion and this was it - hope you feel the same and can enjoy this next phase!

grrr at baby and its bud!!! i have been desperate to come online and see what you are getting!!

happy christmas to you wmf and the 3 loves T S and K xxxxxx

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 25/12/2007 07:13

Merry Christmas everyone hope you all have a lovely day

I started crying last night when I saw the two stockings up because next year (hopefully) there will be 3. Hormonal or what.

Also thought I felt the first little butterflies but could have been wind????

Anyway DDs have 20 minutes then I'm getting them up!

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 25/12/2007 07:59

Merry Christmas everyone.
I'm also waiting for DS to wake! Next year I don't think there'll be any holding him back and he'll be waking a 5 month old into the bargain ha ha!
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 25/12/2007 21:50

wow quiet in here hope you are all stuffing your faces with chocolate (as we can't get into the wine) had brilliant day with the DDs, DD1 was completely hyper never seen her so excited.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 25/12/2007 22:10

Hello and Happy Christmas all! Aw - how old is your DD? I can't wait until mine is old enough to get excited - she's just 1. I was feeling grotty for most of the day but then managed to scrounge a snooze and am feeling very perky this evening. DH seems to have cottoned on to the fact I don't feel great and is being surprisingly supportive. Did you all have a fabulous day??

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 25/12/2007 22:12

oh yeah - DD 'bought' me a lovely chunky ring with her birth stone in it. She bought me a necklace with the same birthstone for my 1st Mothers day this year too. Rock on DH!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 25/12/2007 22:17

DD1 is 3.5yo so this is the first year she really got it. We left out a glass of milk and a cake for Santa plus Rudolphs carrot and she was so excited this morning when it had gone. DD2 just wandered around saying "wow" a lot.
