kitty! this is bullshit. I am barely a half an hour from you and the system over here seems entirely different. My GP did my referral back in early november, and I still got a dec 18th appointment. They normally do 16 weeks, but my GP was sneaking me in I think. EPAS at SG said to come in anytime there was bleeding...just to walk in.

I'm going to keep all crossed that you get a scan ASAP, even though things all sound like they are looking good!

Still sick over here with a nasty chest cough keeping me up all hours and then combined with MS not so great. It all feels like one big yucky flu. Still I'm managing to eat for my wee bean. I still can't believe it feels so real now

Jodiew79 · 21/12/2007 10:43

Morning everyone...

Kitty - I can't believe they are going to leave you until 16 weeks...... I'd be cross even if I didn't suspect anything was wrong, and for your doctors to sound so blase (right spelling?) about whether or not you MC, it's appauling!

Everyone with not so sleepy LO, I feel for you..

Mrsclairet - just being nosy, but where abouts are you as my local hospital is a Midwife led unit too and I know we are lucky as there aren't many of them about anymore....

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 21/12/2007 11:52

Have phoned MWs and left a message no one was there

Will be totally chasing this up next week after Christmas, in some ways I don't want to know if it's bad news, because what would I do anyway, go in for an ERPC on Christmas Eve? I know that doesn't make any sense but I am feeling quite positive in myself that everything is fine as it's been 8 days since any bleeding, I can feel myself growing and am still feeling sick. Day after Boxing day am going to go up there and practically demand a scan.

But can you imagine if I was still bleeding? If I didn't have mumsnet and was a naive young girl or something. The 16 weeks thing has really got to me as well, I bet it's 16 weeks then come back in another 6

Anyway enough moaning from me

mcchesers - about you realising it's becoming very real. I don't think I ever believed I would have a baby until she was here. Still look over sometimes at the two toddlers playing and think "who do they beling to, oh it's me" It's great though will be the best thing you have ever done. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Ally - glad you got a better night, both DP and I got up once each to both of them which is a good night. Both DDs will just need their duvets back on and a bit of a shush and a pat and they go back to sleep but it's horrible getting out a warm bed.

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 21/12/2007 12:49

Thanks Minkus. Feeling better emotionally today. Last day of term - can't wait to have the children home. They're old enough to be lots of fun and not really much work. Decorating biscuits after school today, and wrapping presents this afternoon to a good old xmas CD. .

on the other hand had really sharp shooting lower abdominal pains on and off all yesterday afternoon which was a bit worrying. Still, no pain today and no bleeding so I expect all is fine. Hurry up scan...

Kitty, like everyone else I am absolutely furious on your behalf. Can't believe it really. DO so hope you get scan next week just to confirm what you already know - that all is fine.

Jodiew79 · 21/12/2007 13:08

Right I'm off to have lunch with MIL... Should be nice, she keeps DS busy while I just read the paper!!!!

Anyway, I probably won't have time to pop back on over the weekend, so everyone have a great Christmas, good luck to those with scans, and those who are going to demand scans!(Kitty)

Hope none of you have made it to the naughty list this year and Santa brings you all you want (or if you don't want it, then at least the receipt!)

Heres to a sober Christmas!!!!!

sarahnh · 21/12/2007 15:44

hello ladies, i am hoping you can help me out!!

I know everyone is different but i was just wondering how you are suspose to feel/look at 10 weeks!!! I found out i was pg at the begining of dec and thought i concieved in nov, but the midwife things it was maybe the month before!!! I am waiting for my dating scan but my stomach is definitely much bigger than i think it should be if i am only 6 weeks!! I am only little so that why i think its so big but i'm so confused!!!

MINNIE1 · 21/12/2007 15:55

Hi all

CHRISTMAS has started in this house !!! Started the hols today yipeeeee.. DP is of with work breaking up day so that leaves me to deal with LOs again! MEN But looking forward to christmas.. 3rd year being sober and i do drink but this will be my 3rd xmas PG!! what the heck i can go wild next year..

Sarahnh
Do you know when your last AF was?? Its hard to fell much if its your first PG, it will still be very low down..

Hope you are all feeling goog and looking forward to christmas.....

sarahnh · 21/12/2007 16:08

minnie1, its my 2nd pregnancy so i really should know!! I don't remember being this big at 6 weeks last time!! my AF's have been all over the place, i thought i had one on 10th Nov but it was very light (tmi) and the midwife doesn't think it was an AF so the one before was 5th Oct..

I also read on this thread that people are struggling to sleep on their tummies and i definitely don't feel comfy sleeping on my tummies anymore!!

isaidhohoho · 21/12/2007 16:49

Sarah - I felt very large and bloated at 6 weeks with DS2 - made me unsure of dates. If your af was very light it could have been an implantation bleed.

Even at 10 weeks your uterus will prob not be poking over your pubic bone yet - have to wait for a dating scan to find out!

Husband is home and our Christmas has begun. Yipeeeee.

Kitty I feel angry on your behalf as well. I can't imagine what those people are thinking. Want me to fly over and bust some heads for you? I'm feeling hormonal I can do it?

frostythesnowMin912 · 21/12/2007 19:06

Where's Tom Cruise and his personal sonogram machine when you need him eh? I'm sure he has the private jet as well. And in a two-for-one, we could all put him straight on that 'don't make any noise during labour' scientology nonsense.

Seriously kitty I really hope they listen to you but if you're getting bigger and feeling sick then that all sounds positive doesn't it?? (Apart from the actual feeling of nausea I mean.)

Sarah - I suddenly went quite big at 8 weeks with this (second) pregnancy. Zips and buttons are definitely straining... but everyone is different. Is that suitably unhelpful??!

I was getting into xmas panic about internet orders not arriving but fortunately they all arrived today, including one for DS that I only ordered yesterday! Phew! (although really, of all the people we've bought for, he will be the one that would notice least if it were a few days/weeks late...)

frogmarsh · 21/12/2007 19:07

Hello all, had my first midwife appointment today and feel very relieved to finally be in the system (SK i can completely understand why you are so annoyed to be waiting until 16 weeks, it seems very unreasonable) The midwife seems very nice and i have chosen to give birth at the local midwife led unit which is supposed to be very good. She said my scan date should come through shortly and in the mean time i have booked to have the oscar test (nuchal fold and bloods) privately at the beginning of Jan - am very excited but also nervous, fingers crossed all is well.

Have had horrible sinus/cold thing the last few days and struggling without my usual choice of drugs! Am mainlining honey and lemon and sniffing olbas oil

santascRUMPELedsuit · 21/12/2007 19:08

Evening All,

KITTY - what a joke! You should kick up a stink! How stressful and utterly unhelpful. Makes me that we are going to get free prescriptions but essential services like this are suffering just now, never mind minus £97 million!!! Write to the Chief Executive of the hospital and your local MP! Grrrrrr!

PTIYPASI - I will be puttin out positive vibes for both of us re the twins My Mum's brother had a twin sis (she died at 3 hours old though) and my Dad's Aunt and Unlce were twins too. My Grandma is now 81 and constantly goes on about how things were better in her day. My Lo had hand, foot and mouth a couple of months ago and my Grandma was giving it: "They didn't have things like that in my day" etc etc. Was so annoyed, felt like shouting "No but they had cholera, tuberculosis, measles, polio etc".
My poor Grandma was knocked out with chloroform in labour and was out the game for 3 days. Her other Lo would probably have survived these days so I say thank goodness for drugs and medical science! Especially after my first labour

Been feeling yuck. LO's pressies aren't even wrapped yet and we only just started putting up decorations I haven't even made it around the neighbours yet to pop their cards through the door!

Your scan photos are fab ladies!

Well I am off to vegetate for a while then bed!
We had a really early dinner yesterday and LO had me up at 6.30am. I got her milk and tucked her into bed with me, but it felt like my stomach was digesting itself - it's horrid isn't it?

FrannyandZooey · 21/12/2007 19:12

welcome farnney.

Sarah - any possibilty of twins? they say the fundus doesn't pertrude above pelvic bone till 12weeks, but it's all so different.

hope everyone's ok, Kitty - still for you that they haven't responded to your message

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 21/12/2007 22:05

They SAY your fundus doesn't prtrude above your pubic bone before 12 weeks but what I reckon is as your uterus goes any fat in your stomach has to go somewhere so it gets pushed up and out to make way hence you have a bump but it just like you have been eating too many mince pies. Not to worry though it will soon be swallowed up by the real bump.

My pelvic area is definitely harder and more protruding as well as the bump I seem to have devleoped in the past few days. I look about 4 months gone already.

Bad news is I think the SPD is starting to flare up already. Today I bent down at nursery and though ouch my tailbone hurts and it started hurting when I moved my legs today also my bone at the front (the actual syphilis pubis joints) are definitely tender. I am scared that it's starting sooner (was 15 weeks with the DDs) and will it be worse how will I cope then I think shut up SK you have been praying for this baby to be alive every day since you found out you were pregnant. Can't have one without the other. Sorry I am waffling on tonight again.

Didn't hear anything from MWs and to be honest I don't want to know anything before Christmas I mean what would I do if I knew? Am going to go mad with someone on the 27th though.

Franny - hello glad you finally found us

and hello to everyone else I can't keep up with all the messages

isaidhohoho · 22/12/2007 07:14

Hello franny!

My bump is getting more proper - like Kitty says it is just fat being pushed up to start with, now My tummy is getting firmer every day! I struggled to do up my work trousers last night when pre preg they were a size too big.

Sorry to hear your spd must be rearing it's ugly head - but all symptoms offer some more positive thoughts in a way!

OP posts:
ocomeALLYebabies · 22/12/2007 07:38

oooo SPD, ouch, hope it's not!

i'm not sure if my bump is psychological! why is it that when you dont know if you are or not you dont look pg but then as soon as you know it;s there?? perhaps i hold myself differently???

isaidhohoho · 22/12/2007 09:10

Ocomeally.. - Yes - I agree - I think once you know you're def preg your stomach muscles say "what the hell - let it all hang out!" and subconsciously you find yourself wearing something smocky...

Morning Ladies!!!!! Well I have made it to 12 weeks. Never thought it would happen but here I am!!!!!

I'm starting to show a bit, but not much. My jeans are too tight when I am sitting but are still fine when I am standing up. I am thinking about digging aout my old maternity jeans. To be honest I have missed them, they were so comfy.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 22/12/2007 10:54

Morning ladies

Paula - happy 12 weeks

isaidhohoho - unfortunately I think the SPD ihas reared it's ugly head, I expected it though having had it with the DDs, only thing that keeps me going is the minute the baby is out it will go and I will never get it again, I can put up with it for a while if it means I get a baby at the end

Well I'm off out tonight with the ladies from toddlers, am really looking forward to it even though it will be a sober night. Went clothes shopping the other day and nothing really caught my eye, bought a new pair of shoes though. Found a nice dark green/blue top that I wore when I was pregnant with DD2, it's smock style and I definitely lok pregnant in it. Also found a pair of black trousers that were too big a while ago but fight now (they are a size 10 - sorry smug cow alert) but pre children I was a 12.

Now I just have to manage to stay up past 11pm.

Anyway I hope everyone else is well the weather has changed here it's very wet and dark.

Am all sorted for the big day, hopefully Tesco's will come tomorrow with teh rest of the food and not miss too much off.

isaidhohoho · 23/12/2007 10:01

Everyone must be very busy this weekend!

Just off to get my turkey - have a great Christmas everyone!
