xx

Jodiew79 · 17/12/2007 11:16

After I had DS I tried Avon's stretch mark remover cream and it did actually help, annoying thing is, I have only just started to actually get rid of them and here we are again!!!!!

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 17/12/2007 11:18

yes bealcain it does get more prominant - i am 10 - just looked and its very obvious if you are looking for it - i have always found it a very odd phenomenon - would love to know what it is for!!

bealcain · 17/12/2007 11:21

have absolutely no idea. intersting that you've got it already. and that you get them at all as you're pale skinned i thought it was noly darker skinned ladies that got them

bealcain · 17/12/2007 11:22

lol Jodie. i tried a cocnut one from boots, it didn't help in the slightest. they're till really red after ds2

melander · 17/12/2007 11:25

Can I join too?
DS is 2.5 and I'm due on 27th of July.

Jodiew79 · 17/12/2007 11:29

meant to add welcome... sorry, told you my pregnant brain is the one working today

bealcain · 17/12/2007 11:37

hello melander - congrats on pg. have you had scan and all that yet? i'm constantly tired with this one as have 2 LOs to run around after. my nausea is passing, but now i bet i've jinxed it

isaidhohoho · 17/12/2007 11:38

paulayates - I think the linea nigra is just where your stomach muscles seperate slightly - making it look like a line. I think I can see mine too, but I couldn't til right near the end the last 2 times.

I am 12 weeks today!! Hoorah! Scan tomorrow!

Had a crap weekend - kids puking, keeping me up at night, etc!

Welcome melander!

Blimy hohoho, I don't envy you, I though teething and up every 2 hours was bad this weekend, but poor you.. Hope everyone Ok now.

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 17/12/2007 11:45

hello melander. congrats.

mcchesers - hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Kitty, so glad things seem to have settled down.

Everyone seems a bit chirpier today. Not feeling so sick myself. Very very cold though. I didn't get stretch marks first time, but did second, and I didn't do anything differently. I'm using boi-oil this time. Time will tell.

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 17/12/2007 11:53

Ooh, just been to look, and I too have a very faint linea nigra. How exciting. Must be pregnant! (definitely pigment, not muscle separation)

isaidhohoho I hope ds2 recovers asap and that you don't come down with it.

santascRUMPELedsuit · 17/12/2007 13:45

Hi All,

SWEETKITTY - glad you are feeling sick it will make you feel better emotionally.

Welcome melander

PAULAYATES - I only got one towards the end last time. My boobs got very discoloured though as did my usually luminous white face!
I don't like them - I think they are horrid.

I would love to have had a Homebirth but no way! DH wouldn't allow it and he was right - nightmare labour lasting 36 hours (21 active). LO was back to back so contractions were not doing anything - I got stuck at 5cm. Ended up with an epidural (fab) and syntocinon (sp?) drip. Then the umbilicol cord snapped and I had to go to theatre was marvellous - thank goodness for drugs !

I am hoping for a better time this time around! [fhm]

I feel awful today - really sick. LO had me up form 10.30pm to 2.30am this morning - I think she is getting another cold. We had her Christmas party yesterday and she met Santa for the first time. [fhm] is what she thought.

Acupuncture tonight - then none for a month! 'cos of hols. Still only 3.5 weeks until I am 12 weeks.

MCCHEESERS - yep I always get raosting when pg. Last night - no heating, fleece over me in bed and that was it! It was -5 last night here!
Have a nice day all!

paulaplumpbottom · 17/12/2007 13:47

wow that was quick

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 17/12/2007 14:13

santascRUMPELedsuit - your 1st labour sounds very much like mine. Fun heh? I was pretty scared before the 2nd time, but we sailed through without complications. I can barely remember it -it was a doddle by comparison. I'm just assuming/hoping no 3 will be like no 2.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 17/12/2007 15:05

hi everyone freezing cold up here today, been out at DD2's toddler Christmas party and then to a friends for lunch, bless her she said if I bleed again I have to drop the Dds round here and go straight up the hospital. No more bleeding again Had breakfast brushed teeth, puked up breakfast. Have felt terrible all day as well. This one must be fine.

bealcain - how did I presuade DP? Erm I just sort of told him, he is still totally against it and I am sure we will have lots of discussions about it in the coming months. DD1 was a straighforward 4 hour labour, DD2 was 2 1/2 hours didn't even have a tear and she was 3lbs heavier than DD1 (had loads of stitches with her). It was fine the only thing was I had 3 canisters 2 of gas and air and one of oxygen in case baby needed it and the MWs got them mixed up nad couldn't get the gas and air hooked up to the O2 mask thankfully she didn't need it but it really spooked DP.

Paula/EEC - linea nigra's already wow I don't usually get one until about 34 weeks. As for stretchmarks, none with DD1 and thought I had none with DD2 but found about 4 under the bump once she was born. Totally faded now. I think it's genetic as none of my family have SMs either. Saying that will probably gets loads next time.

Isaidhohoho - happy 12 weeks enjoy your scan tomorrow

melander - hello welcome and congralations

hello to everyone else must go and do some housework now x

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 17/12/2007 15:23

sheesh i saidhohoho - please say its not so - i ave lost half a stone since the start of this pg so why should that be????????
runs off to look up linea nigra ( i have always been a bit proud of my stomach ...maybe that was before a fall!)

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 17/12/2007 15:30

maybe its age (obsessing re linea nigra ) - i am much older than most of you and twice as old as some - but i do have a half decent stomach despite this

i have felt rough all day but am feeling v odd in other ways
no huge boobs
no weight gain (ALWAYS gain from day 1)
not terribly terribly tired although a bit - so its a bit new to me

it;s torture coping with toddlers but mine is learning how to play without me just comes occasionally to lie on my head for a while

having nuchal bloods on weds although scan a while yet

bealcain · 17/12/2007 15:42

paula - yes perhaps age i hadn't thought that a factor goes off to google thoughtfully]

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 17/12/2007 15:47

i got it with dc1 and was mid 20's

i have just wiki'd it 'increase in melanin' 'usually appears 2nd trimester' did say more common amoungst dark skinned also said often preceded by a slightly whiter line...
mine is only a 'shadowy' line not thick black marker pen!!

RE stretch marks i have been lucky - got a couple in pg1 ditto pg2 but since then no more reallly

i use some lovely clarins stuff religiously but doubt it does anything -smells delightful though

welcome melander when are you due?

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 17/12/2007 16:09

Back to linea negra - mine only very very faint and only lower down, not up near belly button. Maybe it has been there all those years since last preg and I never noticed as it is so faint?!

paulaplumpbottom · 17/12/2007 16:40

I didn't get one with dd
