mcchesers · 14/12/2007 23:18

Hey PaulaYates..how you been? You still have your scan on Tuesday? Almost there!

I've got a chest cold sore throaty sort of thing and feeling sick on and off, but being stuffed up can't really feel ms specifically. yuck. DH has been looking after me all week while I conk out sleeping in various places around the flat.

Kitty- don't worry about the MS off/on I am having the same thing apparently it's normal.

No bleeding, but lots of cramps around the pants elastic line. Could be from coughing though.

PaulaPP and Breizhette great news!

back to sleep will try and catch up more tomorrow.

Nice to see new faces!!

bealcain · 15/12/2007 10:21

morning all, sorry not been on much, had a really busy few days and soooooo bloody tired, only just got up

got my scan date through yesterday, the 28th, which just happens to be my 21st!!! how amazing, what a present!

glad there's no more bleeding kitty, thats a really positve sign!

PPP - glad things are good with you and that they know what the source of the bleeding was. does that mean that you're more likely to bleed during periods (when you get them back) afterwards?

Pigley - i've been having wierd periods pains for the last few weeks now, apparently it's growing pains and nothing to worry about. that's all good and well but it still bloody hurts. mine keeps going round to my back too!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 15/12/2007 20:59

Happy Saturday everyone had a busy day went to visit my friend whose baby is 7 weeks how scrumptious is he? Was a bit when she said he is having a bottle a day with a rusk in it. Cannot really cope with everyone chatting about "the baby" I just hope there still is one. NO more bleeding today back to normal CM hoping thats it now don't want the bleeding to start up again. MS coming and going though. So had the day off and went shopping in Glasgow as well yuck why do people do it? It was so busy the queues at the tills etc.

bealcain - 21st you young thing you

mcchesers - take care of yourself it's horrible being ill when your pregnant as well you can't take much for it either.

Hope everyone else is doing ok as well xxx

paulaplumpbottom · 15/12/2007 22:06

They didn't say how long it would go on for

mcchesers · 16/12/2007 10:18

morning all..have just about lost my voice but am maintaining a normal temp. Still with the sore throat and bunged up nose. I am only too grateful that I don't have anyone to take care of and my DH is looking after me. Haven't taken anything but paracetamol and ibuprofen , downing the water and ice lollies. I only hope I haven't done any damage to my passenger

Kitty- I hear you about "the baby"..just don't want to talk about it yet..but on the same token don't want to wrap myself in cotton wool and sit on the couch. Wishaw has the birthing pools so that's a nice thing. A lady I worked with had hers there.

Belcain - 21st!? My goodness! That seems like a decade ago..oh wait..

ok back to bed..ugh this is miserable.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 16/12/2007 11:16

Sorry you're feeling lousy - are you allowed to take ibuprofen while pregnant????????? Get better soon!

paulaplumpbottom · 16/12/2007 12:23

How high has yoour temp got? Have you been tyo your gp?

mcchesers · 16/12/2007 12:54

I phoned EPU after hours onsite GP told me that I could take some ibuprofen and paracetamol as directed. Just told me to pound the liquids and rest as much as I can (she sounded awfully young) I'll be ok for work tomorrow just won't be very conversational.

My scan is Tuesday afternoon so will know the score then. I think my temp only got as high as 37.9c I'm not going to worry too much about it, there's nothing I can do anyway but sit and ride this out..but it's yucky. Kitty, I have an idea now what you were going through two weeks ago..but with 2 DDs!!!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 16/12/2007 21:23

Wow it's quiet in here tonight, I have felt so sick all today, actually got as far as dry heaving quite a bit too but hey taking it as a good sign, this pumpkin must be doing OK to make me feel this rough. No more bleeding again. DP thinks we should wait and see, have a good Christmas then have a scan.

mcchesers - I think anytime you are ill whilst pregnant especially at the start it's really rough. Sometimes being so busy with the DDs helps as it takes you mind off things, oh hopefully I won't be going anywhere near Wishaw if I can help it, planning another homebirth, last time was fab (well apart from the horrendous pain but shouldn't say that with first timers about)!

mcchesers · 16/12/2007 21:46

Anyone else feel like they are on fire?

Kitty- Had no idea that you had done home births. I'd love to go to a birthing house like they have back home but there's nothing like that here.

Feeling a little better and ms has returned with a vengeance. Like you said, maybe these beans are ok if they are making us feel so crap!

pigleychez · 16/12/2007 21:48

Kitty- Sounds good that you havent had any more bleeding- definately a good sign

Been a quiet weekend on here! Everyone must be out Xmas shopping.

I went to London yesterday and Oxford street was heaving!! Was feeling very protective of my bump whilst being pushed and shoved amongst the crowds.

Didnt do any shopping as it all got abit too much. Ended up walking along the embankment watching all the street performers which were great.

met up with friends and spread our news. Everyone was pleased but said they were expecting it sooner or later. Boys went off to see a footy match whilst us girls went to covent garden to dinner and drinks. ( soft drinks that is )

After getting back home at 12.30pm I was so tired today! Didnt wake till 11.30am, then was asleep on the sofa again for an hour at 2.30pm and been dozing ever since. Done nothing today apart from lay on the sofa with my laptop- Pure lazy day.
Better make the most of them whilst i still can!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 16/12/2007 22:39

mcchesers - I had DD1 in a hospital in London and DD2 at home, I don't think I would have been brave enough to have the first at home as it's going into the unknown you don't know how your body is going cope. You know part of the reason I had a homebirth was that when I was thinking about it everyone and I mean everyone I mentioned it to in RL was saying no you can't do that it's dangerous etc etc even DP was against it. Yet none of them knew anything about the homebirth stats etc. It was mostly MN that made me make up my mind, that and I am so bloody minded that I wanted to say "see I had a brilliant homebirth" same with BFing no one in RL supported me at first which made me want to do it even more.

Oh the on fire thing I am the opposite I am permantley freezing, I am the most cold blooded person I know. You would think I would be hardy and used to it living up here but I am always cold.

pigleychez - am v jealous of your day out and your lazy day today, you will still have lazy days but they will be spent snuggled up with a newborn, even better

paulaplumpbottom · 16/12/2007 22:56

Its nice to hear you sounding more positive Sweetkitty

bealcain · 17/12/2007 07:24

i'm a homebirthing mama this time, and Kitty, how did you get round your DP? he was against it with ds2 and luckily for him i had to be transferred in, but this time i'm adamant its going to be at home. i know the stats, but is there anything else i can use to persuade him? glad things are calming down for you.

Pigleychez i'm soooo definately male the most of it whilst you can.

hi to everyone else, hope bumps are all doing ok.

Jodiew79 · 17/12/2007 08:16

Morning, hope you all had a good weekend?

Kitty, good news that your feeling positive now and no bleeding for a while..

Pigley - I am sooo jealous, I would love to lie about all day, like I did with LO, make the most of it!

My birth with DS was so amazing! I went to a Midwife led birthing centre and had a water birth, had one shot of pethadene to help me sleep through the night (didn't help!!) but then just gas and air and it was brill!! It was like having a home birth as there aren't any doctors, but there are ambulances waiting right outside the door to transfer you if need be...

Just reading that last bit, god I think I see it through rose tinted glasses, it was good, but not something I'd do every day!!!!!

Scan tomorrow!!!! YEAH

Jodiew79 · 17/12/2007 10:54

bealcain · 17/12/2007 11:14

agree Jodie - if you've done it 2 times before are you less likely to get more [hopeful emotion] and does anything actually work?
