How is everyone else? any sickness still... I thought I was over the worst at the weekend, but hey presto, came back with avengance on Monday! YEAH..... Will it ever stop?

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 11:18

Back from doctors, tried his best to reassure me with the old blood from the bleed yesterday speech even got out his uterus and placenta diagrams.

Upshot is I am waiting 2 weeks to hopefully get a scan at 12 weeks although the receptionist says the MW doesn't see you to 16 weeks now although in August it was 12 weeks.

am utterly and at the state of maternity services sometimes.

Jodiew79 · 12/12/2007 11:43

God thats a long time to wait! I've never heard of anyone having to wait until 16 weeks before.... Esp if you think you're having problems.

My friend just turned up at the hospital last week and demanded a scan and got one at 10 weeks... Wasn't good news, but at least she got one....

Not saying that they shouldn't but heavy smokers and drinkers get better service!

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 12:45

Thats crap! Why on earth would they make someone wait that long? Its insane.

Holly78 · 12/12/2007 13:36

Hi all just wondering can i join you lot? I got a bfp on monday and think i will be due on 28th july. Well i think i may be due then, my lmp was 22nd oct....i tested on the 22nd of nov bfn..... then next day pink spotting that lasted 2 days....then on fri 7th dec feeling faint and very dehydrated..and everything tastes funny..tested with cbd on monday 10th dec bfp! so am i right i must be 7 weeks? as if i conceved this month surley it is too early to tell i would only have ov between 7-10 th dec !! have i completley messed this up?please helpxxx

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 14:20

That's what the receptionist said I think she was a doughnut though as EPAS told me they come out to the health centre (different one) at 12 weeks to do the scans at the booking in appointments.

So I have been told to go home and wait unless I start bleeding heavy or cramping what a joke.

Last time I phoned on a Thursday had an appointment on the Monday then Tuesday the week after.

I think I will have to invebt some symptoms if I don't get a scan at 12 weeks feel terrible doing that but as I already have to pay for a 20 week anomoly scan feel a bit justified.

When I was in London there was a drop in EPAS OK it was a few hours wait but at least you got seen that day.

Holly78 - hello and welcome. Sounds to me like you are 7 weeks, sounds like you have had an implantation bleed.

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 14:27

Kitty sorry about all the s**t stuff that is happening.Makes me really cross as someone who works within maternity services that you are been treated so badly Where abouts do you live?? I would be complaining strongly to the director of midwifery about the way you are been treated.

Just part and parcel of staff shortages I'm afraid.

They don't have the money for sonographers hence no 20 week scans although that is changing next year.

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 14:35

I know, the work side of me knows all about the shortages but the mummy side of me wants to hop up and down in frustration!!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 16:50

no new bleeding so a good sign

Hope I haven't scared everyone off the thread it's awful quiet in here.

I was leaning over looking at catalogues today (have to give DP my Christmas wish list) anyway I was hunched up leaning over in a ball on the floor IYSWIM and it was uncomfortable (this was before DD2 decided I was a horse) I definitely have a bump and I'm only supposed to be 10 weeks

Scan letter today had the baby measuring 8+2 weeks that was nearly 2 weeks ago so going by that I should be 10+1 today, my dates 10 weeks and LMP 9+6 weeks. Strange as I know from opks I ovulate CD15 so thats why I thought we had missed the boat but looks like I ovulated 2 days before, v strange.

Off to make dinner and keep positive!

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 16:52

Why all the staff shortages?

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 18:28

Paula, when i did my midwife training there were only 15 places and 1000+ people applied and this covered the area from york to north durham!!!!!! So not enough trainning places,PCT's dont have enough funding and have to make cuts somwhere. Im pretty sure it would be the same for radiologists/sonographers.Its discraceful. A lot of my friends who qualified have since left due to stress so its a big mess really

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 19:06

Its just awful

twinkle1 · 12/12/2007 19:34

I know,
But some of us do try hard to deliver a good service and do care deeply about what we do.

isaidhohoho · 12/12/2007 19:42

Sounds okay so far kitty - still got everything crossed for you!

I've just cut the Christmas cake and I'm scoffing a big slice. It's yummy, and I'm not thinking about the sherry I poured over it before I was pg!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 20:22

Had a bit more red blood this evening first time it has hit my knickers (sorry before it was just when I wiped) my stomach is doing somersaults. DP out all tomorrow at works Xmas do, if more bleeding tomorrow will phone EPAS and tell them I am rolling around the floor in pain and they HAVE to scan me.

Why did I think this one woudl be ok?????

Christmas cake sounds lovely though

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 20:34

Kitty yourbaby could still be ok. Until you get a csna you don't know babe. I think you need to do whatever it takes to get them to see you.

It is cruel though isn't it. I mean I think I wouldn't have been shocked if I had miscarried earler, but at 10 weeks (same as you I believe) you've already been through so much.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 20:55

Thanks Paula I know I must get a scan soon, I stupidly thought lightening doesn't strike twice and after the 8 week scan had began to relax a bit.

I have a bump, boobs sore and tingly, been feeling terrible the past few weeks, stupidly thought all was well

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 12/12/2007 21:39

please dont feel blue
...to be blunt ...i had to wear a pant liner for two weeks earlier in this pg - paid for a scan and shivered (you know the feeling ) all the way there.

smiled all the way back - i have faith in that baby of yours sk. we found out we were expecting the same day Kitty and i have faith x

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 21:49

Oh please don't lose hope yet. There is still hope.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 21:55

I know I know keep thinking I had bad bleeds with DD1 at 9 and 10 weeks and she was fine.

Keep positive SK

(am thinking of buying a portable scanner that could be couriered all over the country to anxious pregnant women, anyone want to chip in? although would probably need a sonographer too)

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 12/12/2007 21:57

Sorry ladies feel I have really brought this thread down the past few days it should be upbeat with us all looking forward to 12 week scans and finding out if anyone is having twins.

Happy thread happy thread

paulaplumpbottom · 12/12/2007 22:02

Don't be silly you haven't brought it down, we are just worried about you.

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 12/12/2007 22:24
