Kitty-

Ive got all my fingers crossed for you.
Think positive!

Paula yates is right- maybe even triplets!

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 13/12/2007 07:37

Morning lovely ladies no bleeding overnight but have got up this morning with a dull ache low down across my pubic bone, don't feel very positive today at all.

pigley - no I have had a scan definitely only one so someone else will have to have the twins...........................

bealcain · 13/12/2007 07:47

kitty - i've been having that for a few days now, kinda feels like you're about to come on? saw MW yesterday and she said definately growing pains.

i know its easy for us to say, but keep your chin love and we're hear if you need to talk. (i know how crap Dps are at understanding sometimes)

hope everyone else is ok. had my booking appt. yesterday. at MW. she#s a prick to say the least. she said by my dates i'm 14+ so they wont be able to scan me as it;'s past the 13+4 they need. really as i have a 44 day cycle, not used anything contraceptive wise since ds2 was born 9months ago, only had one period since he was born and then missed all my others. i've got lots of twins in my family and on Df's side so i;m a bit at her decision, surely they'd want to confirm my dates??? anyway my MW friend is booking me in for a scan down in her area as we need to know. but dont know when yet? hopefully sooner rather than later.

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 13/12/2007 07:51

thanks bealcain

am totally shocked at your MW so they don't have a clue how pregnant you are but won't scan you, surely they need to give you an EDD, OK you are probably past the nuchal fold scan window but surely they should be scanning you to find out how many you have in there and dates.

Glad you are getting a private scan though.

isaidhohoho · 13/12/2007 07:53

My midwife is coming today - I hope she's better than yours!

Still thinking of you SK xxx

isaid - good luck with MW, i'm sure she will be, i only thank god it wasn't the bloke! but saying that i might've got what i wanted as he's pretty easy to persuade!

lazyhippo · 13/12/2007 08:24

Hi July Ladies!
I've just been catching up with the last few days messages.
Kitty- felt for you so much with your worries and stresses. I'm sure its the last thing you need at present. I'm keeping everything crossed and sending good vibes. I love the idea of a portable scanner ready to whizz where ever needed
Isaid- good luck with meeting your midwife- mines not until next tues
Bealcain- bummer about your dates excluding you from an nhs dating scan

Jodiew79 · 13/12/2007 08:46

Morning Ladies,

Hope you are OK Kitty, thinking of you lots xxx
How's everyone else? I don't know if it's a positive thing or not, but I went to a party last night and a complete stranger asked me when I was due???? Surely my bump's not that visable I'm only 10 weeks ish. Maybe it's all the food!!!!

minFrostytheSnowman912 · 13/12/2007 09:47

Kitty could you go to A&E and weep profusely until they give you a scan?? I can't believe you have to wait so long. And you're not silly to want to believe the best for this one, of course you do!

Had a hell of a day nausea-wise yesterday, when we were away at the weekend I nabbed some sick bags from the plane and I lost count of the number of times I got one out yesterday just in case - had to cancel a client and go home early as I just felt so damn useless. No actual vomming but some lovely dry heaving in the bathroom with DS mewling at my ankles 'in a minute, mummy just needs to be sick and then she'll give you a cuddle'. By 5.30pm my tummy was huuuuge but it seems to have gone down today.

Told my parents last night as it was my dad's birthday and they were pleased, although my dad did request a pink one (they have 3 grandsons already). And my mum told me off for indulging in a small celebratory glass of champagne (nausea had gone by then!!) - this from the woman who both smoked and drank when she was pregnant with me!!

Jodiew79 · 13/12/2007 10:30

Mums are funny, when I had my 20 week scan with my DS, she phoned every 10 mins to make sure I wsn't going to find out what it was (it was never my intention to anyway!) then when i met her that night, the first thing she did was show the scan to a midwife who was in the pub and ask if she could tell what sex it was by the photo!!!!!

I wonder if we'll be like that in 20 years time????

zinnia · 13/12/2007 10:59

Morning all.

SO, called my GP's surgery yesterday to book my monthly appt between Christmas and New Year so don't have to take time off work and arouse suspicions. Faff around a bit with nice receptionist as they're not taking regular appts on all days that week, and we finally find a time on the 27th.

I start to write it in my diary. "By the way", I ask "which doctor will it be?"
"Dr [X]" she replies. I start to write the name in my diary and then stop.
"Dr [first name] X?"
"Yes"

Not only a mate of mine, filling in as a locum for the week, but a mate of mine who, in the pub on Monday night, made a gag about me being pregnant which he admitted was meant to be "probing" (no bump yet, but my demure sipping on a cranberry & soda was presumably a bit of a clue), prompting much unconvincing denial from me.

Needless to say, we had to find me another appointment. Honestly, what are the chances?

Jodiew79 · 13/12/2007 11:22

How funny! It's a good job you realised in time..

It's horrible isn't it all this pretending, I had to lie to my doctor about my dates coz I think i'll be 12 weeks on Boxing day, and I wanted my scan before that so I could tell people and they wouldn't guess, as not drinking over christmas would be a BIG give away!!!!!

So I've got my scan on Tuesday! YEAH

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 13/12/2007 12:04

Zinnia - that is so funny

Jodie - glad you got your scan sorted it is terrible the secrets and downright lying you have to do

min - yuck on the nausea hopefully it will be passing soon, A&E out as well as no childcare, I have a very busy week next week as well, have 3 parties and a concert but hopefully will be able to fit in a scan at some point but I reckon I will have to blatantly lie and say I am in serious pain and having loads of bleeding as they will be chock full before Christmas

Only a little bit of brown gunk this morning am hoping it's just the rest of a tiny bleed and the baby is fine (think DD1).

Mummywannabe · 13/12/2007 13:39

Hope all is ok Kitty - fingers crossed for you.

Jodie - i should have thought of that i'm 12 weeks on boxing day and got scan on 3rd jan. gonna have to tell at Xmas as it looks obvious!
On the plus side MS is decreasing to 3pm - sleeptime now and is easier to cope with! hurray!

isaidhohoho · 13/12/2007 13:43

mw just gone - what a boring visit!

just form filling - and because it is pg 3 there is an unspoken feeling that you know it all anyway!

My real life friend called me this morning to say she is pg too!! Only 4 weeks ish, so early days for her. It's great because we both have 2 boys, and their birthdays are within 2 weeks of each other.

Help!! I got my bfp on monday night with clear blue digital (says pregnant in words), so today i thought (as you do) the spare test from the same box i will use it to check again and came up not pregnant. I have had no bleeding still feel shattered and queasy, no cramps or bleeding.
Am i pg or not?

FoghornLeghorn · 13/12/2007 14:13

Shit SK - I just popped in here to see how you are getting on.
Try and stay positive I cannot believe how ridiculous they are being, you should be able to get an apt an an EPU the next day or so - I did with DD1 when I bled at 11 weeks.

Thinking of you
x

paulaplumpbottom · 13/12/2007 14:40

Afternoon all. Finally felt up to going out for a bit and took dd to the park after school. I am wiped out. I feel like I could sleep for a week

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 13/12/2007 14:43

Thanks FHLH hope it's just one of those unexplained pregnancy bleeds and everything is fine.

Holly - I would wait another few days and test again. I had something similar a few years back first test was faint positive, second one a few days later negative then AF turned up a week late (never been known) I believe it was a chemical pregnancy.

Isaidhohoho - I don't think they really bother with you after the first especially if you are low risk, good news about your friends too

bealcain · 13/12/2007 15:05

Holly - i've always been told you cant get a fake positive so maybe your wee was more dilated than normal when you tested 2nd time??

Holly78 · 13/12/2007 16:01

Thanks, bealcain & kitty- i thought my wee would be stronger though because its a few days later. I have called drs and nurse said test in couple of days or wait and see if af turns up but its not due till 22nd! maybe this one just didnt stick . totally gutted.

cass66 · 13/12/2007 17:06

Holly 78, sorry, but if your period is not due until the 22nd Dec, then why are you testing now, 9 days early??? wait a week, until you're a few days before your due date and use an early preg one, or wait til you are due or late. I think tests done too early are not going to be reliable. sorry if this is harsh. cass.

frogmarsh · 13/12/2007 18:39

Hello all
Had my booking in appointment with the midwife today, or at least that's what i thought but it turns out i had booked in to a maternity clinic at the doctors and so only had a 5 minute appointment. Was so upset it was all i could manage to do not to burst into tears - completely irrational and silly of me but i had been soo looking forward to getting the ball rolling and thinking about scans etc.

Am slightly peeved at the midwife as when she originally called to make the appointment she left a message on my answer phone saying: 'hi, its *** here can you call me at the clinic to make an appointment.' she didn't say which clinic or leave a number so i guessed she was the midwife and decided to ring the doctors, when it turns out i should have rung the maternity hospital, but as a first timer how was i supposed to know? Now i feel like i am all behind and not properly in the system

Anyway came home and cried my eyes out - am currently blaming the hormones!

sorry not sure this post makes any sense but can't think how to phrase it better

imdreamingofawhiteKITTYmas · 13/12/2007 18:49

oh frogmarsh it's their mistake and for you

When I was having my first I was all excited about the 12 week booking in appointment and the MW was a cow and English wasn't her first language so there was a bit of a language barrier, she was really abrupt and I came home and burst into tears, I stupidly thought I would see her all the time (ha!) but the next time I saw her was when I went in after my waters had broken. I remember she asked for a urine sample and I peed on the wrapper as well, she never told me to take the plastic tub out the wrapper how was I supposed to know. She sent me home with instructions to come back in 2 days if nothing happened, I was back in 2 hours had DD1 in another 2 she actually came in and congraulated me she wasn't that bad.

Sorry I am away on one of my many digressions you won't be behind honestly.

Holly78 · 13/12/2007 18:52

Thats ok cass,i'm here for peoples honest opinions.
My last proper af was on the 22nd of october, then i had 2 days spotting in nov when my af was due, i was sick and faint last week thats why i tested early ( i would have only been ov on the 7th dec) it was incase i'm preg from last month not this month iyswim.
