ridiculous story Ambi Glad she got her money back though, perhaps we should all try it today and do a survey...Er on second thoughts...

Insy, I suppose you should tell your neighbours in case they worry when they hear noise, but I don't envy the conversation you'll have to have. Hopefully they are open minded enough, if they look shocked say you're worried about how clean the hospital is after all the health scares in the news recently, that may make them side with you...

Ohh Ambi I might have to go for a swim too, sounds fab, just what I need...

insywinsyspider · 29/11/2007 12:21

Lizzer - just not sure what to say to them, may just send dh round when he gets back on Sat

just had lunch and could do with a little nap

Ambi · 29/11/2007 13:08

Ooh cazzy I'm getting twinges too, good luck though. I think mines down to the clary sage in the oil diffuser downstairs!!

Ambi · 29/11/2007 13:10

pg women on this thread now, shouldn't have posted that story but it narks me off those little hitlers creating jobs for themselves!!

Wizzska · 29/11/2007 13:15

~OK everyone, have resisted doing this but time is getting close. Our shortlist...

Rory, Willie, Magnus, Robert, Yanick, Tadeus, Stefan, Rafael, Rafal?

Any comments?

We have an English/Scottish/Polish background.

claireybraxtonhicks · 29/11/2007 13:24

Grr Ambi! "Pregnancy is a lifestyle choice" Well then surely the children afterwards are a lifestyle choice too, as is taking your pushchair into the supermarket!

I certainly wouldn't object to seeing a pregnant woman parking in a P&C space, but I do object when at Ikea I wait for someone to vacate a P&C space and a young couple without children come from the opposite direction and zoom into it! Or when I have the door open getting dd out of her car seat and a car goes to pull into the space next to me forcing me to close the door and move away from the side of the car (which I did willingly to give them a chance to park) but then doesn't straighten up so I can't even get back down the side of the car let alone open the door and get dd out.

Both of which have happened to me recently. The Ikea one I had to let go as we then had to drive around carpark looking for another space but the other I embarrassed DH by snapping at the other driver (something like "excuse me but how do you expect me to get my baby out now?!")-her friend then came up to me and apologised saying it was obvious what I was doing and she was sorry her friend had been so inconsiderate.

claireybraxtonhicks · 29/11/2007 13:28

Wizzska I like most of those. Think favourite is Rafael followed by Magnus. Stefan probably my least favourite namewise but I once had a stalker called Yanick so that one would have to go to the bottom for me!

Ambi · 29/11/2007 13:30

I like Rafael & Stefan

Ambi · 29/11/2007 13:31

But how cute is Willie Wizzska

Ambi · 29/11/2007 13:33

I really must stop becoming obsessed with PG celebs and celeb babies...but I love the gossip, I can't help it.

I thought the whole thing with P&T spaces was so you could get the door open wide enough to get the child out saftely (and without denting anyone's car)! It is very hard to get out of a car whilst heavily pg if you don't have enough room to open the door - perhaps if they made the other spaces bigger... grr

Wizzska, love Rory! Magnus is pretty cool too, is one of DH's 'family' names!

I think we are fairly settled on names - George if LO is a boy and Evie if a girl. Only problem is that I don't think I could use Evie if s/he is born on Christmas or New Year's Eve! Any suggestions for a backup name? Names I love but can't use due to family/close friends already using them are Hannah, Grace, Georgina, Amy, Emily & Libby.

Sounds like everyone is getting lots of twinges now! Nothing really changed here. Saw MW yesterday (the nice one) and she said it is highly unlikely that I will be early based on the fact the last 2 were late. Baby has dropped a little though and she could feel 4/5th of the head so I think that means 1/5th is engaged. Didn't measure my fundal height though for some reason. She has also said that if I have not had baby when I am 7 days overdue she will do a stretch and sweep to try and move things along. I really don't want to go overdue as I am worried about the pressure on the hernia! 4 weeks until DD and right on time would be just perfect for me!

becklebigbump · 29/11/2007 13:46

Hi Loopymumsy! Plenty of room in here for you guys if you go over!

Hello loopsy... c'mon over.

Wizzka - my faves from your list are Yannick, Rafal and rafael altho I dont dislike any.

I think you can still use Evie esp if you really like it. George is just so timeless.

Bouncingturtle - The bra-strap back pain is apparently due to baby encroaching into your chest cavity and forcing ribs up and out (according to oesteopath), which irritates back. The only thing which work is usually a swim or a crunch from said oesteopath. It does get a bit better when baby engages and drops a little.

Wizzska · 29/11/2007 14:21

Ambi, he's been Willie Wizz as a womb name, we're just worried that Willie might be a bit problematic in the real world. at Yanick the stalker!

I like George and Evie Beckle. Eve might have been in the running for us if we were having a girl. My granny was Evelyn but her sisters called her Eve.

Welcome November mummies.

insywinsyspider · 29/11/2007 14:22

I like Rory, but then I like tradional english/bibical names x

RGPargy · 29/11/2007 14:35

Hi Loopy!

I've been lurking here for a little while now.....

claraquitebignow · 29/11/2007 14:46

Hi everyone
Been to hospital today and they set a c/section date for 12 Dec if baby hasn't come before then - although they did say I can carry on with regular monitoring after that if everything seems fine....
They have also said I can have a sweep on Monday or Tuesday (hopefully) so fingers crossed that will do the trick.
Will try the "other" methods this weekend - eg having oral sex with a pineapple (that's right isn't it?).

I thought the parking story was quite interesting as can see it both ways. Although as a heavily pregnant woman I can see why it would be nice to be able to park in a larger space, it also does my head in when people without children use those spaces. Unfortunately I would guess that most of those people AREN'T pregnant and I just wish the supermarkets would do something about it.

Wizzska - I like the name Stefan out of all of those.

Beckle - how about Emma as an alternative? It's my dd's name and is quite timeless without being TOO common. George is a lovely name. Evie is nice too but I know quite a lot of them now.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 29/11/2007 14:46

Havent caught up with posts today but Im officially PISSED off.

Baby, despite my huge OFP efforts has turned posterior

I feel really, really gutted as my other 2 kids were and I ended up 2 weeks over with both, induced, long painful unproductive labour, foetal distress, ventouse blah blah

I was really hoping that because this one has been LOA I might be able to prevent history repeating.

I am a doula and I know that no 2 labours are the same and my problems may not have been due to op and baby might move etc but Im no good at doulaing myself and just feel really sad.

Irrational I know but hey ho!

Hope everyone else is ok xxx

suey2 · 29/11/2007 14:51

poor you pecka! could turn around again, though?

RGPargy · 29/11/2007 14:56

Congrats to JARM on the birth of Daniel James today!

Pecka - did you get the link i left for you in the old thread re TENS?

claraquitebignow · 29/11/2007 14:56

Not sure if already mentioned but there is a post on childbirth threads about JARM - she had her baby boy this morning.

cazzybabs · 29/11/2007 15:00

I am going for Evie too if it is a girlie!
