macdoodle · 12/12/2007 20:44

Do we need a new thread this aint gonna take us to the end is it....??

buzzybee · 12/12/2007 20:48

Shells had a baby girl at 8.45pm last night (12 Dec)! Given that she emailed me at 5.10pm from home that's pretty impressive

PeckaRolloverAgain · 12/12/2007 20:54

Had bit of blood earlier accompanied by a little bit of clear snot - not full show or anything but possibly heading the right way? Im only 38 weeks and normally cook them til 42 so not too hopeful but PLEASE let this mean that i might not be induced this time.

I have also had a few pains but mostly in my back and on left side down below feeling like a stitch. Not how i remember pains felt.

Ho hum!!!!!

mellymooks · 12/12/2007 20:54

Congrats Shells!!
I'm trying soooo hard not to be of all these babies!!

insywinsyspider · 12/12/2007 20:56

Buzzy ? I?ve heard its statistically more likely babies arrive around a full moon ? hoping mines nearer due date than Christmas tho ? really wanted pate, brie and a couple of glasses of wine with my Christmas dinner!

Furry ? my due date works out exactly 40 wks from the day I know I ovulated (I found a web site at the time that calculated dd from conception not LMP) it was earlier from LMP but I know my cycle was longer than 28 days so it fits, dating scan confirmed the same day so I shouldn?t be surprised I?m still waiting even tho ds arrived on ?exactly? 39 wks! Feeling oddly overdue today ? anyway I hope mw can reassure you about dates and induction, I hope baby arrives before then

Beckle ? lol at your baggy uterus ? dh said I had bigger bump because everything has stretched, he said ?a bit like a balloon, its easier to blow up the second time round? sure he?s right but not a very flattering way to describe it! And this one moves from one side to the other, mw says its spinning on its head

Congrats vnmum! Does dd have a name yet? And congrats to shells!

Ozzy ? moist toilet tissues from Boots (or baby wipes ? same thing really) and Anusol

Cazzy ? sorry to hear about your high BP and not having a homebirth

Good luck for tomorrow fifi ? looking forward to seeing your birth announcement!

Amani ? not had BH like that (I?m lucky mine don?t hurt ? I was told I was having them whilst being monitored mon and tues) hope its everything warming up for you and means baby will be here soon, hope its not as bad tonight and you get some good sleep

Lizzer ? how interesting I?m cancerian too ? off to look at moon cycles when ds was born to see if I can work it out!

Melly ? I agree with everyone if you are prepared to go in everyday for monitoring then you are not being irresponsible to yourself or baby ? if it doesn?t feel right to be induced then you shouldn?t be just for their targets

Pecka ? sounds promising!

Lizzer · 12/12/2007 23:50

Just had a feeling when I came on to check thread, and i was right - another baby announcement! Congratulations shells I'm so too LOL

Pecka, that's all i had as a show, sounds promising indeed

Insy, another moon child! Do you know if we have our babies after the 22nd that makes them Capricorns, our polar opposites (dd is one and we are chalk and cheese in some ways, but very undertstanding of each other as your op sign is supposed to have elements of you in them...ahhh)

Off to watch prison break season 2 dvds until my brain switches off... good night everyone

Shells · 13/12/2007 01:09

Hi there friends, i'm back home with my baby girl. Roisin Eleanor, to be known as Rosie. After a long slow day of contractions, things went horribly quickly and I nearly thought I was going to have her in the corridor of the hospital! Barely had time to get my shoes off and she was coming. All pretty intense and painful and no time to consider menu of pain relief etc. But at least it was over quickly.Had a sleepless night on the ward, so decided to come home this morning. Feel pretty shell shocked, but she's feeding well and all her brothers are excited. And all is well. Thanks for all your nice thoughts. Good luck to everyone still expecting. It will happen.

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 08:21

morning shells - glad your both home safe, wow most people seem to be having quick labours...

lizzer - disappointly looked at moon chart and if lo arrives at same point as ds it'll be 30th Dec (day before induction tho so not too bad!) am due 18th, that feels like a long wait! My birth chart aligns me with Sagittatius and been told that I'll clash with another Sagittatius so either way this baby will be awkward I think ds was born on the cusp as well but luckerly turned out to be a taurian like his dad, never looked at how compatable cancerians are with taurians but so far so good

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 08:25

lizzer - just been checking - taurus is our nearly perfect partner (hurray) and sagittatius is an opposite we're attracted to so might be best if baby gets here before 22nd! (Capricorn is listed as astrological hell!)

SAmbiClaus · 13/12/2007 08:28

Fantastic news Shells, Roisin is a lovely name, hope you get some sleep now, I think you deserve it.

Us Capricorns ain't so bad. I think we're supposed to be down to earth and level headed... Although I think this one is going to be a Sagittarius as the cut off is 22nd Dec and if this LO hangs on until then, then it's one determined baby and deserve to be a capricorn!

Bouncingturtle · 13/12/2007 08:32

Congrats Shells!!! Wow that was a quick delivery! Hope you and the rest of the family are well.

VNMum - It's nice to see a positive induction story, I know a few of the ladies here (myself included) are not keen on the idea of induction because of the increase in the likelihood of intervention, so it's good to see that this isn't necessarily the case! Did they know the baby was going to be large and that's why you were induced early?

Mac - yes I think you are right - we will need a new thread.

Jingle Bells, Nappy Smells, babies all the way!

SAmbiClaus · 13/12/2007 08:36

I'm undecided about the Middle name DH wants for LO. Don't be offended if anyone has this name though He wants to name her after his Mum, who's a fantastic lady, she's the hub of her community and couldn't ask for a nicer MIL, but Barbara is a little old fashioned for a little baby. I'm trying to think that no-one really takes notice of middle names, I NEVER use mine and it would be a really nice way to honour her as she recovered from Breast Cancer a couple of years back. But then I also think that my parents will feel a bit out of sorts, though DH reckons we can honour them with the next one. Think I will have to bow down as it's such a lovely request of his.

buzzybee · 13/12/2007 08:37

I'm a scorpio and I believe I'm much more compatible with capricorns than sag. But cusp would probably OK. Can anyone post a link to a good site for these things? How do I find out what sort of moon DD was born under?

Have to say I place more reliance on the fact that DD was almost exactly on her due date last time so think might be the same this time - but its all fun isn't it?!

buzzybee · 13/12/2007 08:42

IMO there are 2 possible purposes to having a middle name: either because you really like a name or because you want to name your LO after someone special but don't want it to be the first name. I think Barbara falls into the second camp and even if you don't LOVE it, its really special and your LO will know that.

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 08:45

buzzy - I clicked on the moon sign at the top right hand corner of this page to find out the moon phase - ds was born at 39 wks (I'm 39 +2 today) so feeling oddly overdue and now speculating a due date like mad

Ambi - you capricorns are lovely its just not compatible with us cancerians!
I think its lovely when middle names are significant so its a beautiful idea to name after MIL, she'd be very chuffed (supprise her with it after baby is here )

SAmbiClaus · 13/12/2007 08:45

Thanks Buzzy, I think you're right, A bit of your heat over there, although I cannot imagine being PG in 30 degree heat..

insywinsyspider · 13/12/2007 08:48

on the subject of names again - is 2 middle names too much? we can't decide which ones to have! 2 sounds too many...

suey2 · 13/12/2007 08:58

new thread here

buzzybee · 13/12/2007 08:59

Insy, no I don't think so. Actually I'm considering doing both things with this LO's middle names - i.e. one I love and one named for a good friend.

My DD has 2 middle names - one we both liked (Caitlin - a variation on my middle name which is Katherine) plus my surname (i.e. as a middle name, not hyphenated surname).

Another option which I'm kind of going with is to find names you like which give the same initials as a special person. In my case that is B.A.M after my grandmother (she was Berta Athea)

FurryFox · 13/12/2007 09:00

Congratulations Shells - Glad all is well and you are both home. Lovlely name too

Not sure I understand all this moon sign business . Maybe will look into it later.

Insy - My DH has two middle names. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, although the second middle name doesn't often get used but I think his bank cards etc have all his initials on. My DD has my middle name which is also my Mum's middle name. Expecting a girl this time and was going to use MILs middle name but she said it was silly and she doesn't like her name so don't think we're bother and maybe choose something else.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/12/2007 09:36

Morning all, needless to say nothing has developed over night

Off to see midwife today, cross your fingers baby might have turned but it doesnt feel like it to me!

Im considering stopping my iron supplements because they are making me constipated - Im horrified at the thought of being constipated right up to birth and it all coming out in one big push!

Normal levels of pooing oneself in labour I can deal with but not that!!!

ozzymoomoo · 13/12/2007 12:48

Thanks for the advice insy, have been using the moist tissues and Anusul. Feeling slightly better today. Had diarreah now since day one tho and going 3/4 times a day is really not helping!!!!!!

WizzskaRedbreast · 13/12/2007 13:48

vnmum - well done you, glad the birth wasn't too traumatic.

Shells - congratulations. How lovely for you to be home with your family already.

chloemegjess · 20/12/2007 22:24

Hello everybody! I am due to this site and due on 23rd. I can't help but notice nobody has been on here for nearly a month? Has everybody had their babies?

Anybody there?
