@Teaandcrumpets95

Morning ladies, got my bfp this morning and I'm shocked tbh as I'm only meant to be 12dpo x going by last period I'd be 4 weeks 3 days- when would I call my gp for a midwife referral? Is next Monday too soon? Any advice as I don't know what to do with myself 😅 xx

Congratulations! At my local GP/hospital you get booked in as soon as you get a positive test and they ask your LMP and you get an appointment for between 8-10 weeks.

Might be worth giving them a ring?

Hi,

Worrying again, seams to be the only constant in my pregnancy 🙁. So only symptoms I have had that have been relatively consistent are sore boobs/nipples and very tired, did have constipation earlier on and occasionally still get bloated, I also have noticed my boobs are very veiny and resemble road maps as is the area around my lower abdomen. However from Tuesday morning I woke up and my boobs felt pretty normal and have done ever since, it’s now Friday and still mornings and night time they feel normal, can sometimes feel some soreness in the nipple area during the daytime but only when poked at! Tiredness didn’t ease until yesterday when I felt again pretty normal. Feeling a little more tired this morning but could be because I was awake in the night and then again at 5am. That also seams to be a common symptom that started right from the moment I knew I was pregnant, wake up in the night, go back to sleep then wake anything from 4.30-6am and that’s me up for the day. Normally my alarm would go off at 7 and I’d snooze till 8 struggling to keep my eyes open. Below are my most recent 3 tests, I know there not getting any darker not sure if they are getting any lighter? The last picture is how the tests look now so 2 of them are old, they go in order of oldest at the top newest at the bottom. I should add I am 6 weeks 4 days.

@Itsjustme20 and @Teaandcrumpets95 congratulations again (think we are on a few of the same threads 😊).

I called my gp the day after my BFP. I have a shorter cycle (25 days) so I got my BFP at 13DPO (Monday 16th August, day before AF due date). Officially I'm 4 weeks exactly since the start of my last period today.

This is my first pregnancy and our first TTC cycle so everything is new. I'm full of symptoms which is so odd for me as I've never had premenstral symptoms. I now cycle between feeling mildly uncomfortable (mild cramping, very thirsty, smell everything , feeling chilly in the day and hot and night) and being anxious because I feel normal. It's a minefield.

Sticky beans to us all. Excited to see these April DCs 🤗

@Teaandcrumpets95 I forgot to mention that my midwife/gp appointment will be over the phone on Wednesday. I'll be 4 weeks 5 days since last period.

Then aiming to have a early scan at what I calc as 7weeks exactly.

@wannabeamummysobad hello again, it's so nice to have people to go through this with 😊 I got my bfp yesterday at 12dpo (got 2-3 on a digi and stupidly dark lines so yea lol...) going by lmp I'd be 4 weeks 4 days today I think it's probably a few days behind that if I ovulated when I think I did, which I'm now questioning because of the strong bfp 😅 x

I spoke to gp reception yesterday and was told to call back for a call back from a gp so I'm going to call on Monday I think x definitely booking an early scan for 7wks 6 going by period but should still be around 7 if dates are off x
Mentally I'm feeling optimistic but paranoid as I don't feel like I have solid symptoms yet x other than cramps coming and going, I did feel a few waves on mild nausea yesterday (nothing so far today) but I woke up stupidly early this morning, tbh haven't been sleeping well the past few days so might count that 😅 xx

It's really difficult not to worry, but being relaxed and not stressed is really important.
Can you do any meditation?
I found myself washing in the night when I first found out, for about a week. I've also dreamed about having a miscarriage. Now I'm feeling quite nauseous and sleeping better.
How many weeks would you be now? Sometimes you just need to know either way, to settle your mind. A private scan is best at about 7 weeks for peace of mind.
Don't know what to suggest really.

Hi, thank you for replying. I have never tried meditation but I could look into it. I have had the odd wave of very mild feeling more queezy than anything, including this morning but I don’t know if that’s because I was taking another test and worried about the result. I should be 6 weeks 4 days according to the midwife, I havnt seen her but had my first phone consultation when I first found out. My first appointment with her is on the 2nd September and first ultrasound is on the 4th September, I will be over 8 weeks by then

Feeling crampy and had some spotting yesterday but none since so hopefully it's implantation spotting 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Itsjustme20 me too! So far just cramps cramps cramps- though I woke up stupidly early today and my sleeps been awful this week so not sure if that counts 😅
Convinced I'm gonna feel sick next week as I had a few moment of nausea yesterday x

That sounds pretty normal x

@Teaandcrumpets95 I've had some like nauseous moments but nothing major yet.

The cramps are almost constant aren't they!! Hopefully it's baby getting comfy ready to stick around though 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I think a bit of sleeplessness is normal, if only because of the excitement/nerves/worry going on in our heads.
Really starting to feel the nausea now. 5+5. To the point I can't think about feeling this way for another day, let alone weeks and months. Just focus on getting through this day.
I have a problem that the nausea only settles with food in my stomach, so I have to eat continuously. Trying to limit it because I went from 10stone to just under 16 stone when pregnant with my daughter!
I couldn't possibly have eaten that many extra calories, there were other things going on. I suspect I had gestational diabetes and I'll be checked this time.
I'm starting to phase in a GD diet just in case.
I've only managed one run this week and I normally run 3 times a week. Trying to run with nausea is just horrific. Got to try and focus on staying fit though.

@Teaandcrumpets95 @Griffer @Itsjustme20 I am with you all on the cramping- nothing major but it is noticeable. Plus reading about some ladies spotting has me checking my tissue/knickers every time I go to the toilet - so far no spotting and hopefully that continues.
This is my first pregnancy so I'm trying to remain active. Told most of my instructors so they keep saying "listen to your body" and give me alternatives. I have a half marathon in 5 weeks that I'm still training for. I had hoped to break 2:00:00 but given I'll be 9w6d (by my calculations) not sure that's even possible for me.

In other news I realised yesterday that dating your pregnancy isn't just about the date of your last period it also depends on the length of your cycle. Based on that I'm 4w5d not 4w1d like I thought- honestly seeing I'm 4 days closer to coming out of the danger zone with this bean makes me so happy! I keep telling it to get comfortable because it's got 35 weeks to go 😊

@wannabeamummysobad I had light pink spotting when I wiped the other day but then it stopped again. I've had 1 tony spot (not even half a cm) of pink again today so hopefully it's just bean getting comfy 🤞🏼

My friends partner is in medicine and he said it's if it's red then to ring but light pink is fine 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hope all our little beans stick 🤞🏼👶🏽 I just want to get to the 12 weeks now so the risk is lower 😢

Hi everyone,
Got my bfp on the 16th Aug. Hope it’s ok I join in.
This will be Dc 2 for me. I’m 37. Dc 1 was born 2.5 years ago via elective section due to breech position. I am absolutely terrified of the prospect of having a VBAC delivery. Does anyone have any experience of that?

Symptom wise been sick once and have been nauseous the past week and I’m pretty tired. I had a lot of spotting in my last pregnancy but thankfully no sign of that yet.

We weren’t really trying so I am really surprised and excited I got preganant tbh

Similar to you I'm 36, my DD was born almost 2.5 years ago (this one is due around her birthday).

I had an emergency C-section with DD and going elective section this time. Much as I'd love a VBaC and feel it may heal the trauma of DD's birth, I just never want to be put in that situation again.

I do know lots of people that have had VBaC without issues and would do so again.

I hear they have very good teams who can talk it through and answer any questions.

Hi all,
I found out I was pregnant about on 12th August, due about 25th/26th April! 🥰 Would love to hear some positive stories re spotting, I’ve had brown spotting on and off since 14th August (Now 21st August). Also had on and off cramping (although not sure if some of it is due to my stomach!) been driving myself crazy with worry and anxiety. Read so many mc stories online so just need some positive ones to try to calm me down a little! Been so emotional this week! Taken a few more first response tests this week (last one taken on 19th) and all positive and line is getting darker. Have contacted the doctors and had blood test Wed and again on Fri to check HCG levels so really hoping for positive results back next week. Hoping they will send me for a scan to rule out ectopic and check baby is growing. I’ve heard of some people having reassurance scans, how did you go about asking for one? Any positive stories would really help right now or ways of dealing with pregnancy worry!
Thanks 😊
X

Good morning ladies, I have my first midwife appointment on Wednesday (5w3d) and am going to raise a question on the Covid jab. Initially I was reluctant because of the rumours of messing with fertility and because I have very bad excema and psoriasis so didn't want to risk any of the ingredients causing me to flare up (I've had no flare ups the past 4 months).
However, now with all the stories about covid damaging the placenta etc I'm thinking that the benefit to my baby outweighs my discomfort from a bad flare up.

Since we are due around the same time I wanted to ask- has anyone on the thread been jabbed since finding out they are pregnant or planning to during pregnancy?
If yes, how far along will you be for both?

@Laurpoppy1 hey lovely, firstly huge congratulations on your pregnancy. Re spotting, I have had spotting since 6 weeks (I'm now 8weeks 2 days) and had an 8 week scan today and baby is growing nicely. I spoke to the nurse about it and she said it's really normal but of course if it gets heavier or you are worried contact an early pregnancy unit. xx

Thank you @Staryflight445 and @fingerscrossed91. Definitely what I need to hear! If anything is going to happen I’m not really going to have any control over it, so really need positive stories to try to stay in a good mindset! Glad that I’m not the only one it’s happened to.

I’ve had my HCG levels back and they’ve doubled which is a good sign - 590 on Wednesday and 1258 on Friday - don’t know anything much about the numbers but the doctors didn’t mention any concerns. They told me to go to A&E re spotting or ring maternity triage for advice. Rang the triage and they’ve said it can be quite normal and probably no point in going to A&E unless pain is more severe and I get red blood as they can’t do anything more than a blood test at this stage (5wks).

They suggested requesting another blood test from my doctors in a weeks time and gave me the number for the early pregnancy unit. They said if I’m still spotting around 7 weeks to give them a call and they will book me in for an early scan around 8 weeks. Hoping all stays well 🤞🤞 it’s my first pregnancy so over analysing everything I think!! 🙈 x
