Hello and congratulations, lovely lot.

It's been a bumpy road so DP and I aren't telling anyone until late September. But I need to talk to someone!!!

How are you?

@FinnsMammy I'm 35 weeks on Wednesday and I'm already tired. Looking forward to lunchtime so I can have a nap!
I have 3 more weeks of work (3 days of annual leave in that time) - can't wait to be done.

@Staryflight445 how are you feeling about being induced?
I may be induced at 39 because of the GD, and I’ve a few things to suggest it can lengthen labour etc.

I’m feeling great about it @Emmasfirstbump88 please don’t let things make you feel like it lengthens labour. There’s no evidence of this as far as what I can gather and anyway… no one knows how long their labour will be so how can they possibly tell?

My second labour was 3.5hrs from first twinge to delivery so inducing is putting my mind at ease.

Even if it does lengthen labour, at least you and baby are being continuously monitored and I’m assuming it’s safer for baby to be out than in at that point with GD?

@Staryflight445 That’s a really sensible way to look at it! I am definitely going with whatever is recommended as safest for baby and me, and yes they will be constantly monitoring everything closely. I think the more I worry the more of a big deal I’ll make it, so will be focusing on relaxation and breathing techniques to help with whatever length labour I end up with.
I’m glad you’re looking forward to it, there’s definitely something comforting in knowing the exact start date and time of labour 😂

There’s complications in every scenario when it comes to this process so try not to dwell, just do as you’re doing and concentrate on keeping yourself calm and level headed during the process.
Giving birth is emotionally and physically tough, everyone has yours and your babies best interests at heart.
Some people have a terrible experience being induced but plenty more don’t, but you can say the same for natural uninterrupted deliveries and c sections too.

I can’t wait for it to be over, we both make it out the other side unharmed and then we can all get on with our lives!

I’m sure many of you here will feel the same 😅.

Hi all
It's a long time since I was on.... :-)
35 weeks with the twins now.
Booked for c section on April 13th 😃

I currently can hardly walk or sleep. Feet and legs are soooo swollen.
I have a feeling we will go sooner but maybe not... one is head down now, one is breech so anything could still happen.

Has anyone found a good antenatal class on labouring and vaginal delivery?
I don't know whats going to happen at all 🙈😆

You can never be prepared for your individual experience @Ladder789

Do some light reading? Are you hoping to birth naturally earlier?

C sections sound terrifying- I hope everything goes well for you!

Hey @Ladder789 👋 My partner and I signed up the Baby Academy one day online antenatal class. We paid £99, and honestly felt it was a brilliant. It ran from 9.30-4.30 on a Saturday and covers: all stages of labour, all birthing possibilities, pain relief and any complications.
Then first 100 days of looking after your newborn.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 🤰 x

Hey @FinnsMammy @Staryflight445 and all other April mums!
I’ve been given a date for induction - 6th April it’s official! So 5 day countdown (unless our little boy chooses to come sooner ha!)
We’ve just had a bath put into our family bathroom so I’m taking advantage of daily’s bath relaxation 🥰
Hope you’re all doing well and looking forward to welcoming your little one/ones soon ❤️

I’m due on the 7th April and trying a VBAC. Feeling a bit nervous 😩 On one hand I would rather another section as I know what to expect but the recovery was defiantly rough.

Report
Staryflight445 · 01/04/2022 12:08

No 2 experiences are the same @marajade12 I’ve had vaginal births twice and both were different.

I haven’t had a c section but I’d imagine every single one of those would be the same. Try rationalise that to calm your nerves.

I hope your Vbac gos well! x

I started my mat leave today. I managed to do an indoor cycling session and then slept half of the afternoon ;).

Have you already updated your birth plan to 'Just get her/him out!!!'???

Hi all, long time since I’ve been on, but my little (9lb) baby boy arrived on 1 April via c section. It was an amazing experience and being a mummy is even better than I could ever have imagined. Any c section Mummas with questions (I was a bundle of tears and nerves walking into the theatre!) I’d be more than happy to share my experiences as it really was so positive x

@Staryflight445 I had my gp app on Monday doc said baby was ready to go and said she didn’t expect to see me back next week. Had my maternity hospital app then on Tuesday and that doc said she’s ready to go too and did a sweep to help move things along ….still waiting. I keep getting contractions on and off but they are not consistent and not overly painful so who knows I don’t like the waiting game ! 🙈

Report
Staryflight445 · 07/04/2022 14:44

Exciting @FinnsMammy!

I’ve been having contractions too but they’ve stopped today, however don’t feel put off by it being slow!
I had absolutely no symptoms with my second and he was born very quickly 😅.
I feel on edge knowing this! x
