I'm 6 weeks also 🥳. So excited to be halfway through the first trimester.

Kelb79 · 31/08/2021 11:01

Hi everyone!
Jumping on board if that’s ok 😁😁
I got my first ever BFP a week ago after a looong 2 years + of TTC!!
I’m 42 and thought my chance has passed. We’d just started fertility treatment and I was due to have a laparoscopy on Friday - did a test on Monday to rule it out and had the shock of my life!
It just doesn’t seem real!
Obviously over the moon but also terrified now…. I’ve never been pregnant before and I’m praying it sticks 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Had a week of very slight symptoms and almost wished for them as it didn’t feel real but suddenly been hit over this weekend - crazy tiredness, waves of lightheadedness and nausea, crying over nothing, nipples of fire 🔥 and omg the bloating and trapped wind 🙈🙈
Got an early scan in the 14th Sept as a fertility patient and can’t wait!!!
I’ve calculated my due date as 30th April so just sneaking in here and desperate to talk to people in the same boat - I’m driving my OH mad 🤣🤣🤣
Huge congratulations to you all! xxxx

Kelb79 · 31/08/2021 11:02

Oh, I’m 5+1 by my dates 👍🏼

alvaryder · 31/08/2021 11:29

@Kelb79 I'm 42 also!! This is my second. (First with my new partner). I had just given up the opportunity of having another kiddo. Now I'm over the moon at being a geriatric mum (yep that's the delightful term they classify us as!). My anxiety has fully kicked in again though.

Kelb79 · 31/08/2021 11:52

@alvaryder 🤣🤣🤣 yep, I had been thrown that term in my first fertility appointment - my OH nearly pee’d laughing! It’s a tough one to get my head around- I still feel 20 😳🙈 oh I’m so glad I’m not the only geriatric mum on here 🤣🤣
That term really does up the anxiety though right??!! I’m fit and healthy (I’m a fitness and yoga instructor on top of my day job) so I feel confident that my body is up to the job…. Even at my ripe old age 🙈 but I dare to start reading MC stats etc - I’d literally take to the sofa for the next 8 months!!
How far gone are you? Are the symptoms getting you yet?

wannabeamummysobad · 31/08/2021 11:58

@Kelb79 @alvaryder I think most of the U.K. are likely geriatric pregnancy/mums - especially in London. I'll be 35 at the start of my 2nd trimester (first pregnancy and a Londoner) and most of my London friends want kids but aren't pregnant.

From what I hear kids are expensive - even at our combined salary I nearly choked when I read about the costs of private nurseries 😱

alvaryder · 31/08/2021 12:08

@wannabeamummysobad omg my son is finally starting school next week and I was so excited to finally have some disposable income. Private nurseries are brutal!! Worth it but so expensive!

alvaryder · 31/08/2021 12:41

@Kelb79 I'm currently 6 weeks exactly. Symptoms are similar to this stage last time. Tight uncomfortable feeling down there, intermittent cramps, boobs super achy, peeing constantly, falling asleep constantly...
Occasional very mild nausea, but my morning sickness didn't start until week 8 last time.
You? I'm so relieved there's another oldie here haha!

FinnsMammy · 31/08/2021 13:21

Anyone else feeling awful? I’m working from home and I’m getting no work done and I don’t care if I get fired for it because I just feel so awful I just want to lie about in bed 🙈 8 weeks tomorrow I can’t remember feeling like this with my first pregnancy! It’s horrid! 🤢🤮

Staryflight445 · 31/08/2021 14:14

Yeah I’m really struggling to look after my 2 little ones, I don’t have a clue how I’ll manage the school run. 😢🤢

FinnsMammy · 31/08/2021 14:46

@Staryflight445 I feel you! Just out of a meeting and my boss is like this needs to be done ASAP today and I know it needs to be done today but I just can’t be arsed 🙈. I used to bring my toddler for a walk during his nap at lunch time every day and now I haven’t done it in over a week! I’m a wreck my last pregnancy I worked out 4/5 days a week and ran up to 30 weeks pregnant and that was only 2 years ago 🙈

FinnsMammy · 01/09/2021 12:22

Girls I had my scan this morning baby is measuring exactly on track 7w 6d with a heartbeat of 145! So delighted to see this after my mc in June. I was so nervous but I’m so happy and reassured now 😍 the sickness is worth it hope everyone has a lovely day x

wannabeamummysobad · 01/09/2021 12:25

@FinnsMammy congratulations! You must be soo excited!
Can't wait to hear my little bean/s heartbeat(s).

FinnsMammy · 01/09/2021 13:23

@wannabeamummysobad thank you I thought maybe it was twins with how bad I’ve been feeling in comparison to my son but no it must just be lack of sleep with a toddler lol

maymum94 · 01/09/2021 13:26

@FinnsMammy that's great news I can't wait for that I bet you feel a little relief now.

wannabeamummysobad · 01/09/2021 13:26

@FinnsMammy I'm actually convinced I'm having a multiple. I don't have particularly heavy symptoms (that I'm noticing at least) but I've never been big on symptoms. I'm historically the woman with the light 3 day period, PMS no cramps etc.

My mum is also convinced I'll have boy girl twins for my first pregnancy. She's been saying it for years 🤞🏻

FinnsMammy · 01/09/2021 13:40

@wannabeamummysobad that’s interesting keep us posted when you find out ..@maymum94 yes so relieved I’m off on hols to Spain tomorrow abd can really relax now xx

maymum94 · 01/09/2021 13:44

@FinnsMammy that's fab now you can have a nice relaxing holiday which is what you need. Enjoy Spain 🇪🇸 I have a scan on the 13 so just have under two weeks to wait now.

wannabeamummysobad · 01/09/2021 14:40

@FinnsMammy yes will do. Booked my scan in for late next week as will be 7 weeks since my last AF. If I've interpreted the internet correctly a heartbeat is detectable at that point. keeping everything crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻💕

Nervyy · 01/09/2021 17:51

@FinnsMammy brilliant news! So happy for you - hope you enjoy your holiday ☺️❤️🤞🏻

Kelb79 · 02/09/2021 11:17

@alvaryder eurgh the cramping!! That’s my worst symptom! Getting total exhaustion late afternoon, occasional nipples of fire 😵‍💫, waves of nausea and just a general feeling of heaviness with lots of bloating and gas 😐 but genuinely most if the time I don’t feel anything and start to panic and think it’s not real 🙈
Anyone else just feel a constant need to keep testing??? I haven’t, my rational brain is winning still but I guess I was TTC for so long that I can’t believe it all!

My OH has always had a premonition he’d have twins and my brother had a dream I’d have twins too (his pregnancy dreams have been freakishly bang on in the past - he actually had the dream about me at the time where this little bean would’ve implanted 😳😳 ) so I’m on twin alert too 🙈🙈🙈

irenealgi · 02/09/2021 13:42

Hello! I'm 7 weeks today after having a mmc at 9+4 back in early June. I can't believe I've fallen pregnant first cycle of trying twice in a row, but all I hope is I don't lose my baby this time around!

Just came here looking for other people going through this time. My nausea is on the low-end of the spectrum (I think), no vomiting but I have begun to not want certain foods (especially the healthy kind, which is rare in me) and I don't remember what hunger feels like. I just feel bleh all the time and eat just to abate the nausea, which though not severe is on for most of the day.

Lucky to be working from home, but even then it's a struggle to get stuff done sometimes and Zoom meetings can be a pain in the bum at some points!

Elsbeth1 · 02/09/2021 21:22

Hey guys I'd love to join the club too! I'm 33 and this is my first ever pregnancy :)
I'm 9+2 according to my last period but I think I'm more like 8 weeks as I'm a late ovulater

Had my 8 week prenatal appointment last week where they took about 8 vials of blood and a urine sample
Been impressed so far as everything is done within an app but I'm surprised all the tests are just about the general health of myself (no checks on the baby Shock)

I have my first private scan on Saturday so looking forward to that!

I've been ok so far apart from being super tired but the last few days I've been feeling ill - headache, nauseous (but not throwing up), cold..
I'm not sure if I'm actually ill or if its pregnancy symptoms since I've hit 8 weeks? I did go away during the bank holiday weekend and was out in the cold a lot so I think it might be actual illness but I don't feel bad enough to take paracetamol Hmm

irene88 · 03/09/2021 11:46

Hi @elsbeth1 welcome to the group, I'm 33 as well :) To be honest, cold and nauseous is exactly how I feel and I haven't been out in the cold (or at all, lately lol) so I'm pretty certain it's the pregnancy. Symptoms can start as early as 4 weeks and last as long as 40 weeks from what I've heard, the average being weeks 6-14, so it could very well be just the pregnancy :)

Nervyy · 03/09/2021 13:21

I too am always cold and nauseous but no actual vomiting yet! I'm 9+4 today ☺️❤️🤞🏻 x
