Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 07/12/2007 09:11

Yes. I got up at 6 a.m. and came to work at 7. I am very clever and brave and sleepy.

ToastandMincePieAddict · 07/12/2007 09:49

Morning

just a quick check in to wish scampmum and any other scanees good luck for today

I have the morning off work (yay!) though have popped in briefly (boo!) to send an email... but am leaving NOW to go to a Slingmeet!!! Never been before and not really sure what to expect, but quite fancied a couple of hours in a cafe looking at various baby carriers!!

Will check back in later to see how the scans etc have gone

I've just done the sums too, and seeing as I don't usually work Mondays, I only have 6 Mondays left at work

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 07/12/2007 10:02

Ooo! Let us know what slings are good

santagitta · 07/12/2007 10:05

Very impressed at what time you got to work Ellie - and loving your new name.
Just started work now - and already on mumsnet. What's wrong with me!!!
If you're around scampmum, good luck for scan. Can't remember what time it is...

Gemprincess - sorry to hear your daughter go to have a GA, whats a crawford tube and whats it for - sorry nosey natured. We had half our garage converted (wasnt integral and needed bricking up in the middle) 4 years ago and we only paid about £6000. R they quoting you for gold plated windows as well???

MMM - I love Aoife, and know how to pronounce it (husband family in Ireland) but some of the names r a little tricky thats why we changed the spelling of Ciara to Kiera.

SGABFEllieG - r u needing matchsticks to hold those eyes open yet?

Ive got MW later really looking forward to hearing HB again, amazing how paranoid you can be during pregnancy isnt it?

loisstella · 07/12/2007 10:56

Hi guys,

Not been around for a while... working 60 hour weeks at the moment, which of course results in bad diet, falling asleep infornt of telly and a horrible cold... but 2 weeks til Christmas - which means nearly 2 weeks off - woohoo.

I've got a question... A worry one, which I've not really been doing much of lately... so all feedback very welcome.

I can sometimes feel the baby move around...now, sometimes I feel it inside, but not outside, sometimes I feel a soft thumping outside, bt not simultaniously inside... but mostly I get small cramps on the low side of my tum.

Is this just more stretching - or is this a bad sign (I'm making up all sorts of dramatic scenarios like baby's in the distress etc).

Got my 20 week scan (at 21 weeks but heyho) Monday - but your feedback before that would be very welcome!

SuzeM · 07/12/2007 11:01

Hi Loistella, I don't know but I'd say it is stretching and all is fine. You're doing better than me, I have my 20 week scan at 22 weeks!

Gemprincess, sorry about your daughter and grandfather.

I have a friend called Aoife living in the US, she constantly has to stop people calling her Oaf. Not nice!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 07/12/2007 11:18

Hi there

Just wanted to pop in to say hi - I am on the Due In June thread cos my due date was June 1. But now it has been changed to May 29 and is likely to be even earlier than that cos I am having twins. So I'll probably drop before most of you!

Ellie, are you on this thread mate?

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:25

i am crappy crap today. my ex-p is a WANKER

he wants parental responsibility of ds1. don't you have to be responsible for that???!!! twat.

am very tired with very sore eyes today.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 07/12/2007 11:33

Ugh, ex's they are twats aren't they.
Do you a deal, I'll kill yours if you kill mine

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:37

sounds like a plan.

he is such a cowardly snake in the grass. i have had 2 solicitors letters in the last 4 weeks, he has not even said a word to me beause he is a frightened little girly pants. he is 25 and has never (well he lived with me for about 2yrs) left home, he doesnt even pay rent. and yet he wants to live in the daddy world? in his fucking dreammmmmmmms. so next week im off to my barristers office (£90 p/h!!!!)to sort the prick out.he uses legal aid because he rarely works because he is lazy and work shy.i cant get legal aid i dont think so will pay heavily for the privilge.things are going to be made hard for him now - he is used to doing nothing, even his dad picks Reilly up! thats stopping. and he can make bloody fancy dress and take Reilly to parties etc - it is a full time job having kids. so eat that!

so, where is yours then??

santagitta · 07/12/2007 11:38

Sorry to hear that Scorpio.
Hello nh101 - congrats on twins! There is an ellie here - she's temporarily SantasGotABigFatEllieG

santagitta · 07/12/2007 11:40

Scorpio - what does parental responsibiity mean (it sounds like I might need some ) - does it mean that Reilly lives with him, or just can stay sometimes?

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:42

here

nothing to do with access or custody, that is not the issue.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 07/12/2007 11:44

IIRC, it means he has as much say as Scorpio, fathers of a child born out of wedlock before 2002? are not entitled to the same rights, even if they are on the birth certificate, for example, they can't see school reports and stuff without the certificate of parental responsibilty.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 07/12/2007 11:45

Yes tis me nh! Ho ho ho. Come over here if you're due early, is a lovely thread. Lots of food talk.

lois - not sure about the feelings but sounds OK to me. But sure someone who has had more babies will be able to reassure you.

Scorpio - what a tosser. Such a shame you have to start doing this. Let us know where he lives and we'll all go round and sit on him. Not sure what our combined weight must be by now but must be pretty hefty!

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:47

my problem with it is that he can't even look after himself, let alone Reilly and make the right decisions.

my parents are moving to France soon and i intend to stay there for 6 weeks a year in the holidays with my children. he could stop that happening. He can say where Reilly is to attend school, prevent any namechange (when i get married 6 weeks tomorrow), etc etc. he can't even make those types of decisions for himself.

santagitta · 07/12/2007 11:47

So basically, does that mean more fighting over how child is brought up? mmn, sorry to hear than scorpio, especially as ds living with you, so you know best.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 07/12/2007 11:48

Don't you have to agree to him having PR?

santagitta · 07/12/2007 11:49

And will the law/court/barrister - whoever decides - take into account that he's useless? Or is it an automatic right?

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:50

in a nutshell, yes santagitta.its stupid really - i have always made the right decisions, they even told me that. i think he wants it for the status tbh. he is useless and has no clue about discipline, a 5 year olds likes/dislikes. for example it was heavily raining the other day when he picked Reilly up, and i handed him Reilly's coat. He just put it in a bag and went to take Reilly to the car (at least 50 ft away) without a coat on, just a long t-shirt. i had to tell him even that.

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:52

i have to consent. if i dont, it goes through court and the court can grant it over my say so.they will listen to my account of things before they make any decision. i am not agreeing.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 07/12/2007 11:55

Damn right. You stick to your guns lady - you sound like you are being entirely sensible not vindictive and that is in best interests of your LO for him not to have PR

scorpio1 · 07/12/2007 11:57

i just need him to prove responsibility (like pay me properly for a start ) before i consider someone having rights to my child. a hild is not a trophy or something you fancy doing this week. We all know that we look after our babies until the day we die - not just for a few hours.

santagitta · 07/12/2007 11:57

Status? That's in the best interest of child then... [sarcastic emoticon]
So sorry, scorpio, hope it all works out. when would it go to court?
