foetus-abusing, not foetus-bashing . Actually, not sure which is worse.

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 04/12/2007 16:30

LOL at scampmum. I don´t think 1 glass of champers qualifies as a foetus-abusing lush Have to go as DS is back from swimming & wants to play Bob the Builder on my computer. See you tomorrow

sagitta · 04/12/2007 16:31

I went out on Friday and this guy gave me an orange juice without even asking. I was furious, made him swap it for champagne.

EllieG · 04/12/2007 16:31

If we poke our tummies too much that might be foetus-bashing

scorpio1 · 04/12/2007 16:33

in some states of America they arrest pg women for ordering/drinking alcohol in public, it is seen as abusing the foetus' human rights or something.

i watched a docu on it recently.

EllieG · 04/12/2007 16:36

Crikey. I think that's a bit much.

VictorianSqualor · 04/12/2007 16:36

Denny, I live Niamh too, DP doesn't though.
Who said Dylan??? PLeas4e no (no-one ehre already has a Dylan do they??) It's the name of one of my ex's kids (when I was 18 he left me after cheating on me with this girl and got her pregnant, Dylan was the kid ) Also, dp always says someone was 'a bit of a Dylan' if they were a bit of a prat, goodness knows why though!!
Just thought of two tv names I like Archie and Lexie.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 04/12/2007 16:37

Lexie is nice, dp refused though.

EllieG · 04/12/2007 16:37

Archie is sweet, though is the name of a man's child who I used to know many moons ago. I slept with him and then he told me he was married with a 2 year old called Archie. Lovely bloke.

scampmum · 04/12/2007 16:38

Good girl! Last time I didn't (well, apart from my wedding day) because after FIVE BFNs I recklessly concluded I wasn't pregnant and got absolutely wrecked about four times. Period still didn't come, and... uh oh. Felt too hideously guilty after that to drink a thing. P seems OK so far, though I'm sure it'll come back to haunt me every time she gets a bad school report!

Peanuts I am eating lots of - avoided completely during first preg as I have really bad hayfever and DH really bad psoriasis, now worried I have damaged DD by avoiding them! Her grandparents (ILs) gave her Crunchy Nut Cornflakes the other day, though, and she was fine - assume no nut allergy (not necessarily the way I would have chosen to find out...).

VictorianSqualor · 04/12/2007 16:38

On the subject of alcohol, I drank moderately with DS, not at all with DD, she was the one born prem and poorly not him!!

Also peanuts, the booklet I got from the NCT the other day said unless there is an history of allergies then there is no problem with eating them.

Right then. Am going to stop attention-seeking and try to get 10 mins of work done before I go home.

SuzeM · 04/12/2007 17:28

Denny, I have a friend named Keelin ... I think that is pretty and it is easy to pronounce. It means "fair and slender".

Denny185 · 04/12/2007 17:43

Like Keelin, a bit close to Kiera though.

Alchol - I was bladdered a 4 days B4 BFP with DS, convinced wasnt pregnant that month as MC the month previous. It hasnt done him any harm.

Just had massive bowl of spag bol, cooked by DH, food always better when u havnt cooked it isnt it

egyptianprincess · 04/12/2007 18:52

y'all have just made me so hungry- will have to get a ready meal from M&S on my way home- no energy to cook..is it wrong to be craving a big mac? i WILL be strong.

Fleecy · 04/12/2007 20:32

Can't believe how many new messages there are on here and it's only been a couple of days since I last looked!

Have finally given in and started wearing maternity jeans (although normal at the front, elasticated at the pockets - saving the bump band ones for later on...).

Nice to see two other writers on here. I'm a copywriter and used to be a contractor too but stopped when DD was born and have been freelance since.

Smiled when I saw Rose as a potential middle name - it's DD's middle name. Struggling to think of names this time round as the only ones we can agree on are the ones we shortlisted last time - so if it's another girl I don't want to use any of them as they're the ones we didn't go with and they might feel like second best to DD1's name!

natalies1982 · 04/12/2007 22:12

hi all
wow to much to catch up on but see we have a new member so hi and welcome

well we got bk from gosh at 5.30 yesterday and was asleep by 9pm was shattered.

its not good news, his chest xray showed alot of white at the bottom half, and alot of air in the lungs, he has something called hyperinflation of the lungs, which seems to be damage, but they wouldnt discuss much until we get results of his sweat test which should hear 2morrow if its pos.
they want him admitted for a couple of days to have alot of tests to find out y hes so poorly, we r looking at end of jan for this so will be about 30 weeks then so not looking forward to that.

we go bk in 4 weeks for app with the gastro doc about his reflux and hope to have letter from cons b4 that explaining what there gonna do.

hes 3 years 5 months and has been through so much, i just want him sorted out b4 he starts school in sept and this bbay is born, its not fair to have him so ill all the time. just hope this baby is a healthy one and dont suffer like him.

hope ur all doing ok, i see midwife nxt week where im going to ask about my chances of induction and then have scan week after.

went and go the rest of the xmas pressies today and just finishes wrapping them so i have officaly got them all just need to write out my cards now.

Sheds75 · 05/12/2007 08:36

Morning All, Had a lovley meal out last night, didn't quite manage a pudding but did enjoy a small Guinness .

Denny where abouts in Cheshire are you, we are moving to Frosham on Saturday!

EllieG · 05/12/2007 09:00

Hey all

sorry to hear you had a rubbish day yesterday Natalie, and that your DS is so poorly. Don't have any words of advice, but sounds like he is lucky to have such a lovely caring mummy as you x

ToastandMincePieAddict · 05/12/2007 09:16

Morning

Natalie - you really are a brave and strong lady - well done and hope you get good news re: the sweat test

Ladies, all the talk of food made me so yesterday - my appetite is rubbish in the evening, managed about 3 mouthfuls of spag bol last night and then went right off it, and then got heartburn Am getting through a bottle of Gavison a week

Did manage a Flake dessert thing yesterday afternoon so can't be that bad. Never had one before, it was soooooo good, think this may be my new "thing"

Second attempt at 20 week scan this afternoon, hopefully baby will be in the right position, or at least awake so it can wriggle around a bit. They still have to check out the heart and spine, so quite major checks, but I feel quite calm about it, I guess cos Friday's scan didn't show up any probs..... anyone else got scans today?

Really enjoyed the names bit yesterday, I think deep down I must think I'm having a girl (hopefully find out today!!) as I can only think of girls names - at the moment I like Charlotte, Molly and Cara, but will definitely re-read the list later

Better do some work I guess - I'm off to aquanatal at 11 (work give me time off to go ). Went last week for the first time and loved it and was so impressed by a couple of ladies there - they looked fairly large, but not whale-like by any means, and found out that one was due two days later and the other 6 days later . Hope I'm feeling that energetic by the time I get to that stage!
