Anyone want to join?

Hi everyone
I got a bfp today.although very faint. I did one tuesday but was negative. But as still no sign of af and being very sick, thought I would do another.

lewisham · 21/12/2007 19:05

CONGRATULATIONS what a wonderful Christmas present.

Beck74 · 21/12/2007 19:47

Hello

Found out a week ago I am pregnant with my first and due on 22/08. Super-excited as we'd been trying, slightly overwhelmed as it took only 2 weeks, so it feels somewhat too good to be true. Eating lots of broccoli and taking folic acid - any other tips for being healthy and safe in the early stages?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 21/12/2007 20:19

congratulations beck74, yes its very exciting. There are certain foods to avoid eating which you may know about.I have a dd of only 10 months and all I can rememeber is dont eat pate ( prob because I love it) Will have to start research all over again myself.

frances123 · 21/12/2007 20:27

No soft cheese (listeria), no liver or pate (too much vitamin A), bread and water anyone???

Pinguin where abouts are you? I was a student nurse at QE2 and lived in the nurses resi's for 18 months - happy happy memories, and darn cheap beer in the social club!

CaptainCaveman · 21/12/2007 20:30

Congrats to you too frances 123, that's some mighty quick work!

frances123 · 21/12/2007 20:32

Yes VERY quick! too quick I'm thinking but every thing happens for a reason.........
cant be bad though! will have 2 small ones who will go to school around the same time, just dreading telling family

frances123 · 21/12/2007 20:33

oooh beck74 we are due the same day xxx

Beck74 · 21/12/2007 21:08

hi frances123

how fun! I haven't told any of my friends who have children yet, so it's great to have someone to chat to who is going through the same thing, but even better that you've done it all before!

So far, so good...a few cramps, a bit of nausea, night time thirst and that's about it. feel fairly bloated, but that's possibly as it's the very indulgent festive season
x

frances123 · 21/12/2007 21:11

for me so far I have had none of those!! but It kicked in about 7 weeks last time... which was this time last year . Now we get to eat everything and not feel bad!!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/12/2007 10:06

Hi newbies, welcome! Great name No1
I've come up with an experimental nausea cure for those who are home all day - I made a big pan of vegetable soup and whenever feel hungry/sick (about every 90mins) I zap a mugful.
Have been doing more retching noisily than vomiting lately.

ChaCha · 22/12/2007 11:16

hello to newbies congrats!

Poinsetta - Hope you are a little better today. Me and DSs are also unwell - I have a horrible cold/flu and can't keep anything down. Mini cheddars made me throw up btw - tried some on way home last week, i have an awful craving for samosas again - had it with DS2 last year. Fantastic idea on soup, in fact have just asked DH to make me some.

Happy holidays all... cough, sneeze, vomit..

dancerandprancer · 22/12/2007 11:23

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 23/12/2007 10:31

ooh fingers crossed dressedup congratulations to you too frances. poinsetta I did the retching thing alway through my last pregnancy only sort of subsided when I ate.
Can anyone tell me difference between evaporation line or a positive line.Startingn to feel paranoid.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 23/12/2007 11:50

Evaporation line is what happens 10mins after testing. A positive will appear before then. You really need to get the old kitchen timer out LOL.
Feeling even more pukey today, have been working this am and nearly threw up in someone's house (I'm a home carer.) Home for a bit then back on the road for another 5hrs.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 23/12/2007 11:54

well I did two tests one friday, faint line, and one this morning.Slightly stronger but still faint but they appeared quite quickly. Sorry to here your feeling pukey its awful isn't it. I only just managed 1st proper meal yesterday, after eating toast for 3 days. Still scared to eat

MollieMooma · 23/12/2007 17:56

Lewisham - I know the sore boobs and MS are crap but I bet your pleased as you were getting worried you had no symptoms!
My chin is looking like a teenagers or really bad stubble rash! My MS seems to be anytime of the day sickness, no control, but at least it's not every day. DH got me a MacDonalds today haven't had one for 2 yrs, never again, just got back from throwing up!

MollieMooma · 23/12/2007 17:56

Also meant to say "HI" to all the newbies, we are expanding like our waistlines will be shortly!

CaptainCaveman · 23/12/2007 20:36

Hi ladies

hope you are all doing ok? I'm knackered despite getting up at 9.40 then having 45 mins kip this afternoon on the sofa. Also bad tempered today, Oh I remember my stroppiness so well from the last pg. Poor old dh......

Boobs have gone up a cup size already! eeek. They'll be like barrage balloons come August!!
