Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Morning all. Just dropping in to wish everyone a very happy (and retching free!) Christmas.

My nausea seems to have subsided (apart from when very hungry) but am waiting for it to hit when I get to 6 weeks!

Main symptoms at the moment are sore boobs, lots of stomach cramps, feeling cold and tired, and insomnia! Honestly, I'm exhausted, but every morning at 4am I'm wide awake. I think someone is trying to prepare me for post-natal nights!

FoghornLeghorn · 24/12/2007 11:25

Morning ladies and welcome to all newbies
I feel amazing ..... I fell asleep on the sofa at 7.30p.m, woke up at 10p.m went upstairs to bed and DH got up with DD's and let me sleep in until 8 this morning so have been asleep for over half a day ! I can highly recommend,it certainly does the trick .

Probably wont get a chance to get on again now until after Christmas so hope you all have a fab time and don't feel too rough

xxxx

CaptainCaveman · 24/12/2007 12:25

Hey all

feeling pathetic today, tired and nauseous. Steeling myself for Christmas and hoping and praying I don't feel too bad. Jeez woman, get a grip!

TwilightSurfer · 24/12/2007 15:59

I too am feeling quite tired. 6+2 and sicky feeling 24/7. Food helps but I've little appetite. DH took DD to the park to play. Our plan is run her ragged, no nap, and put her down early so Santa doesn't have to arrive late . I'm so excited. She's so going to love all her presents this year.

Welcome all newbies. Chatter will build again post-holiday.

Merry Christmas

ChaCha · 24/12/2007 16:03

Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and LOs have much fun too!

Still in bed here, not keeping much down and feeling very light headed between the flu and general PG sickness am lucky that children are being looked after while i get lots of sleep and rest. Tis maybe a blessing in disguise i think!

Here's to a healthy and happy 7/8 months ahead for all....Happy Holidays all... x

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/12/2007 19:17

merry xmas to you all, hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow. (and not too much nausea)

PoinsettiaBouquets · 25/12/2007 11:47

Hope you all have better luck than me. I caught DD's winter vomiting virus on Sunday night and have been bathroom bound ever since. Makes morning sickness even worse because I probably won't be able to eat solids until tonight at least - living off Dioralyte and Sprite. Off for a nap now while DH & kids are at MIL's for lunch then settle down with the Simpsons movie. At least DD has finally perked up.

dressedupnowheretogotilxmas · 25/12/2007 15:01

and now im retracting it

i wish you all the best

TwilightSurfer · 25/12/2007 17:50

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

DH & DD got me a wireless laptop for Christmas. As if I needed more incentive to surf the web. LOVE IT!! I'm actually in my kitchen now cooking late lunch/early dinner for the family. I thought spagetti would be the easiest thing to do but I've still had to pause and puke. Got to love MS.

HO HO HO!!!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 25/12/2007 19:10

Sorry to hear that Dressedup, try and count your blessings and enjoy the rest of the holiday. (Easier said than done I know.)
Was it a BFN or AF? Early BFNs aren't always reliable btw, mine wasn't anyway.

MagicMonkey · 25/12/2007 23:57

Feeling exhausated - was on a flight back from Sweden with DS which was 6 hours delayed and got home at 2:30am. I was so exhausated my body was falling apart and suddenly I just burst out crying at the check in counter!! - serious hormones raging through my body!

Anyway, have basically slept all day yesterday and feeling much better - never again am I going to fly alone with a child!!

Anyone ever had Keith Duncan at C&W private ward before? I have booked in with him. Also, anyone used Habib Al-Refeay (SP?)

Other thing is - since I got PG DS has become seriously attached to me - i can;t do anything without him - has anyone else got this prob?

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 07:46

MagicMonkey my DD (3.10) was truly on her way to solid independence...sleeping alone, totally potty trained. After the first visit to the doctor (she attended it with me) she's like velcro. Christmas Eve is the first night in months she's slept without me. Santa had some pull. However, she's back with me again tonight. The potty training thing was the oddest of all though. She started wetting herself and requiring extra assistance if she did go properly. But ONLY at home as she was perfectly normal at preschool. After a few "wet" weeks we've finally gotten things back to normal. Just goes to show you they are seriously effected by what's going on with their loved ones.

It's 2:30 in the morning here in the states and I'm up because I had to puke. MS has been a nightmare the past 12 hours. My dad came to visit this evening and as soon as he left it was like my home started spinning. Laying down was the worst thing to do. I CRAWLED to the toilet and heaved all the glorious apple pie he'd brought me. Now I'm trying to calm my stomach again with soup crackers and a coke. I'm craving bacon gravy and homemade biscuits but there's NO WAY that I'm cooking at this hour.

Tomorrow or should I say today, I need to find my living room floor as it's still covered in wrapping papers. My kitchen's scary too but everytime I go in it I puke. DH goes back to work after more than a week's vacation so I'm left to care for DD alone. THANK GOODNESS for new toys in the house. All I really want to do is curl up under my quilt and sleep (UNINTERRUPTED).

PoinsettiaBouquets · 26/12/2007 10:15

Hey Twilight, what are biscuits exactly, I've always wondered? Are they like savoury scones for mopping up gravy? Or dumplings that you cook in the stew/gravy?

I'm soooooo hungry and weak .
DS puked last night but nothing since. Waiting for DH to get the virus now.

MollieMooma · 26/12/2007 10:54

Hello All, hope you had a wonderful Christmas, I'm looking for a bit of advice please? Noticed some bleeding last night, but only when I wiped, bright red but watery to start now just redbrown only there when I went to the loo, hardly anything at all, but slightly worried as this is my first and I dont' know what to expect. Seems to be hardly anything at all now, virtually stopped, should I be worried? Ring anyone?
Thanks girls

CaptainCaveman · 26/12/2007 11:01

Hi Mollie - you can always ring nhs direct, or look at their website for advice nhsd
Bleeding is quite common and its good thats its stopped again.

Hope you all had good Christmases? We told my parents, or rather ds told them! He said "I have a nouncement....mummy has my baby in her tummy"
Bless him. I think they were quite shocked, although my dsis likes to think she's psychic and said I told you I dreamt that you were pg and having a girl. Hey ho. She's got a 50/50 chance of being right.

Got a fab new digital camera from dh - will update my profile at some point with new pics.

Awful nausea yesterday - so far so good today!!

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 12:58

PB....biscuits, the American breakfast standard. They're only competator: toast. Some, especially Southerners, make biscuits for breakfast, lunch and dinner...just depends on the meal. Biscuits are basically just milk or water, flour and lard. They're kinda crusty on the outside but soft (sometimes fluffy) on the inside. Here's a link to a shortcut recipe Bisquick Biscuits. Bisquick mix is for those who "want" homemade but don't have a clue about flours/yeasts/and such.

MollieMomma, keep an eye on yourself for a bit. Bleeding is very common and happens for lots of reasons (some not bad while others bad). Intercourse can cause it as the cervix can be irritated by all the action. Sometimes a tiny cyst ruptures on your ovary where you hatched your egg. Sometimes you can have a mini-cycle amid your pregnancy, so would this be when your normal cycle would start?. Those are some of the less problematic reasons. Bright red blood is fresh versus brown...old. At this point you're creating LOTS of blood so a little bit is NOTHING. If you have cramping and bleeding it's best to immediately contact the one in charge of your maternity care.

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 13:09

I just researched scones. I've never eaten one but based on the recipes they have sugar in their mix and American biscuits do not (unless you're making a cinnamin biscuit). Biscuits might "rise" a little as all the scone pics I found made them seem a bit flatish. Biscuits that don't rise are typically hard....like a hockey puck...not good.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 26/12/2007 15:00

Hmm, might have to make some when I'm feeling better. How do you make your gravy?

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 15:36

Gravy for me is a gamble. Sometimes it's great, other times it's horrible. Cook up some bacon then spoon some of the grease into a frying pan. Let it get a little hot then spoon some plain flour into the grease, mixing it so it seems evenly spread around. Keep mixing it around until the flour turns a bit brown then start adding milk. Add a little then stir till it thickens...add some more until you're made the amount you want (just a little at a time to keep the lumps from forming). OH...during the flour browning stage add salt and pepper to taste. The trick is to not burn the flour AND not have lumps form when you add the milk. Sometimes I use a hand held blender if I'm making a big pot. This is a family recipe and nobody's ever taken the time to measure things...thus room for error on my part.

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 15:41

Oh one last note: Biscuits and Gravy are a cardiac patient's nightmare. However, indulging occasionally is not bad.

Jennylee · 26/12/2007 15:49

I am glad I found this thread am 5 wks + 6 days, and am due 21rst of August 08. Have an 8 year old son.

I did not remember my breasts being in so much pain last time - dread to think what other painful things I have forgotten.

Hello to everyone, I will have to read the other 24 pages to catch up with all the stories so far.

MollieMooma · 26/12/2007 17:35

Thanks CC and TS for your replies, feel a bit better now, not seen anything since late morning so hopefully all is OK now. Will keep an eye on things though

IlanaK · 26/12/2007 19:05

Hi all. Hope you all had a good christmas. Mine was marred by the start of SPD at an incredibly early 8 week pg on Christmas eve. I have been in pain since then with no respite. I had SPD with last pg but not until the last trimester. I can't believe how early it has started this time. Luckily I hvae dh home this week or it would be a nightmare. I MUST get it sorted though or I will not be able to cope with my other two children for the next 7 months! I am calling the osteopath first thing in the morning and praying that treatment will work.

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2007 19:35

What is SPD?

Vomit marathon continues.... Fortunately DD is happy in her new Sleeping Beauty costume, dancing to some Barbie Princess movie for the third time today. I peeled myself off the sofa long enough to make her a sandwich, get my laptop and puke. Hopefully I won't have to move again until DH arrives home from the office. This is HORRIBLE!!! But I'm glad it's finally here!!! Twisted aren't I.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 26/12/2007 20:24

Milky gravy???!!! I can see how that would be a knife's edge to perfect LOL. So it's basically a dirty white sauce, yeah? Hmm.
Weird how I can chat about food without wanting to puke but eating it and smelling it irl sends me to the loo. I've been daydreaming about leeks baked in really cheesey cheese sauce - would have to run a mile if it was put in front of me.
On top of my woes I've also had a slightly coloured discharge since yesterday but there's nothing I can really do about it yet.
