Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Sorry Alberta. X posted there. Congrats to you too!

BraveNewWorld · 17/12/2007 14:37

Hi again everyone, sorry to go quiet for a bit, been laid low with nice pre-Christmas bout of flu. Also think I spoke too soon about no hint of sickness. Yeah right!

A big welcome to everyone new!

And Becaroodolf, am thinking of you and crossing everything for tomorrow. xxxxx

I wanted to share two tips with you all - first is the most fantastic pregnancy bath oil from Neal's Yard, it's not the cheapest (£8 from my local health food and vitamin place) but a good Christmas present to put on your list! Guaranteed to relax you and get you ready for a peaceful night no matter how stressful the day...

Second thing is for any of you considering UCH in central London for antenatal/birth, is that they do tours twice a week to see their midwife-led unit and labour ward. (They say: Please telephone first on 0845 1555 000 ext 8720 to book a place on the tour (call again on day to confirm). Tours run Sundays at 15:00pm and Wednesdays at 17:30.)

Their website also says the brand spanking new maternity building won't open till September so not great for us lot!

xxxx

PennyBenjamin · 17/12/2007 14:39

Thanks Poppy - I'm actually less than 4 weeks, but already realising how long the next 8 months is going to feel!

Actually this thread has already put my mind at rest on a couple of thing - have been having headaches, and today am soooooooo cold! Have heating turned up to max and sitting here wrapped in a scarf! Glad I'm not going mad!

No sickness yet, just a constant low-level nausea.

BraveNewWorld · 17/12/2007 14:45

MollieMooma · 17/12/2007 15:00

So glad I'm not the only artic one! The chunky cardi and the 3 jumpers sound fab! I sat like a little old lady in 4 layers underneath a blanket yesterday whilst DH sat in shorts and t-shirt moaning how hot he was drinking a lager, it's such a hard life for a man!
Hi to Penny and Alberta

Buddhababe · 17/12/2007 15:22

HI there, just updated my dates on the list below. Felt really awful yesterday and I am also freezing, particularly my head so I bought a cool woolly hat today.

Braveneworld, i saw that bath oil when i was in Neal Yeards yesterday. They have lovely stuff there. I ended up buying the wild rose beauty balm too.

Hope the rest of you are feeling ok and that the morning sickness is easing off for those of you who have it. Quick question guys, I only moved over to the UK in the last few months so I haven't a clue which are the recommended hospitals to go to e.t.c. I will book to see the GP when I get back after the Chrimbo and I am sure she will give me the details, but if any of you have any advise, it would be much appreciated! Thanks

PoinsettiaBouquets · 17/12/2007 17:33

Joanwilder (love the name btw), there's plenty of time for many of us and more to get puking properly! Sure you won't be alone for long.

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 17:46

Hi everyone....been to see the panto with my ds and a class of 4 year olds today so been a bit busy!!!!

Scan tomorrow at 10.20am so will let you know how it goes.....bit academic now I think.

Thanks so much for all your good wishes and posts, it really means a lot xx

lewisham · 17/12/2007 17:46

is it worth taking another pg test ?or would i def know if i was no longer pg or if something had gone wrong just cant seem to stop worrying about my lack of symptoms

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 17:58

Even if you were no longer preg, HCG (the preg hormone)can stay in the body for ages...my last m/c was in March and I was still testing positive in the June!

Some people just dont get many symptoms....Have you had any bleeding or pain??

If you are really worried, yu could try your GP for referral to an EPU unit for a scan.

Good luck x

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 18:01

Joan....I read somewhere that HG only affects 1 out out of every 1000 pregnancies, but I've known loads of people who suffered with it.

I think it is more common than that....

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 18:01

...."common" in the nicest possible sense

lewisham · 17/12/2007 18:03

no pain or bleeding/spotting

TwilightSurfer · 17/12/2007 18:15

Too funny I gave someone's kids away .
Sorry.

TwilightSurfer · 17/12/2007 18:20

Hmm...BravenewWorld are you sure you don't have kids ?? Seems they were yours from the list I copied over.

Now That's REALLY Funny.

ATTENTION THREAD MEMBERS:
IS ANYONE MISSING (DD 4yrs & DS 2yrs)? SEEMS THEY WERE MISPLACED DURING A LIST UPDATE.

{{{{Twilight can't stop laughing.}}}}

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 19:11

Lewisham...no pain or bleeding is a good sign. You know your own body best and if you are really worried perhaps you could see your GP and ask to be referred to the EPU?

Everywhere is different but sometimes you can ring the EPU at your local hospital yourself and speak to a nurse/dr and get a scan booked...I did that last time.

becaroodolf · 17/12/2007 19:22

So...trying to prepare myself for the scan tomororow...going to be very hard to hear the news.

Honestly, what are the chances I am still pregnant, bearing in mind the bleeding (heavy for 2 days and clots) and cramps???

My boobs dont really feel sore anymore, either.

I know logically I cant be, but unitl you hear the words there is always that little part of you that hopes....

lewisham · 17/12/2007 20:49

thank you Becaroo for your advice esp since you are going through such a horrible tense time; i will think of you tom xx all the best L

CaptainCaveman · 17/12/2007 20:57

Not long to wait now Becaroo, sorry that sounds really crap and corny. I guess it's only natural to hope though - why wouldn't you?

TS - I wonder who pinched those children - have you informed interpol, or mn police ?

Had mild pg panic last night....gibber gibber. Am taking Citalopram and have been back on it since June. Had bloody HORRID ante-natal depression last time which wasn't diagnosed until I went on mat leave and was crippled by panic attacks and anxiety. The great news was that I was fine post-natally.
Lucky for me I have a BRILLIANT gp who is very understanding.

Welcome to even more newcomers!!!! Congratulations to you all too!

In answer to your questions -yes mild constipation here too (sorry for tmi!!), FREEZING cold and nausea.

Only 6 weeks but feeling very rotund too.

I'm guessing I won't have a scan until mid-Feb as not due to book in with mw until 16th Jan. Might pay £50 and have a private scan early Jan though....

TwilightSurfer · 17/12/2007 23:13

Will catch up in a minute....
Just posted Baby Twilight's FIRST photo, go see.

LadyOfWassail · 17/12/2007 23:20

I am really unsure of my dates now - just been to GP who didn't refer me for a dating scan, the MW appointment is 7th Jan when I could potentially be 14 weeks before I even get a 12 week scan booked so I am looking into going private for a dating/12 week scan. I ended up in tears today aswell because I feel so sick, just feeling all sorry for myself right now [moan]

Becaroo - best of luck for tomorrow, let us know what happens xxxx {{hugs}}
