Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Just checking back in before I collapse back on the couch now DS has finally gone for his nap! Many sympathies to the ones who are getting the brunt of the morning sickness, I haven't been sick yet but I feel so so so so nauseus ( can't spell!). Drunk litrees of ginger ale and eaten two packets of crackers but I just know any minute I am going to throw up Last two times I had it really bad, but this time I have a toddler to entertain - how do you cope??? Panic has set in today aswell, probably because I am feeling so rough about how on earth am I going to cope with a newborn and a 2 1/2 year old!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 13/12/2007 11:54

LOL I remember from last time lying on the lounge floor because I couldn't do anything else, with my 1yr old combing my hair very badly.

IlanaK · 13/12/2007 12:44

Well I had a second scan this morning and all is well. They could see the heartbeat (amazing really as the baby is only 8mm long!). They put me at 6.5 weeks which is what I think I am too by my dates (though not be last period dates). The EPU has signed me off and I am going to my GP next week for a booking in appointment and will probably have next scan towards the end of January around 13-14 weeks pg.

I am not being sick (and wasn't with either of last two pregnancies) but have lots of nausea and extreme tiredness. I have two boys that I home school so no rest here! Not sure how I will manage to cook the christmas dinner this year with feeling sick. Still, I have a week in Centre Parcs to look forward to in January when I can relax and let my dh and in-laws look after the boys.

IlanaK · 13/12/2007 12:46

Forgot to say, by my new dates I calculate my due date as 2nd August. I may end up as July though as if I have another section it will be a week earlier. Can I stay here though please?

FoghornLeghorn · 13/12/2007 13:23

Afternoon all,

Not been around for a few days - have had a awful few days - nothing to do with the baby thank god, just anything and everything else that can go wrong has !
Becaroodolf - I have been having shoulder pain although I am now quite scared to ask why you asked that ?

Congrats to everyone who has had scans and been reassured

JoanWilder · 13/12/2007 13:31

gigglegirl what is your drug called?

I tried
cyclizine - useless, made me worse
prochloroperazine - useless, didnt work at all
Adansatron - they gave me this IV in hospital it is amazing but is not really used for morning sickness/ hyperemesis, more for chemotherapy sufferers
Maxillon - what I am taking now, reduces my vomiting but doesnt erase it, I am sick 5/6 times a day now instead of 10 times...

I think you should check with your doc - re the epilepsy thing though.

JoanWilder · 13/12/2007 13:32

foghorn - the last hing I want to do is worry you but isnt shoulder pain associated with ectopic pg?

JoanWilder · 13/12/2007 13:33

Hi Ilana strictly spkg I am due July 27 and I am here!

FoghornLeghorn · 13/12/2007 14:06

I have no idea Joanwilder Am off to google

ChaCha · 13/12/2007 14:48

TwilightSurfer - Great news!! All sounding good and well

IlanaK - Would love to hear more about your homeschooling, something i plan to do with mine when they are of age. I may also be in July due to c-sec but won't know until later.

A toddler and a newborn - hmmm! DS1 was 14 months old when i had newborn, it all seems a bit of a blur now but we managed fine even though DH wasn't around much. DS1 will be 2.7 and DS2 18mths this time so hopefully easier with two of them being able to entertain each other (hopes!)

Feeling nausea full on today and sooo tired and lazy. Slept with DC on sofa and am making no attempt to do anything else even though i must. Very thirsty.

x

becaroodolf · 13/12/2007 15:04

Well ladies, looks like I might be leaving you...started bleeding at work today and have a GP app at 4pm.

I guess I will be sent for a scan??

becaroodolf · 13/12/2007 15:07

Foghorn....dont want to worry you but it is a classic sign of ectopic pregnancy and with you complaining of one sided pain it worried me.

Would you be terribly offended if I asked you to go to your GP? It would put my mind at rest!!!

IlanaK · 13/12/2007 15:43

Hi Chacha - feel free to email me about homeschooling on [email protected]

becaroodolf · 13/12/2007 17:10

Got a scan on tuesday

PoinsettiaBouquets · 13/12/2007 17:21

Tuesday Becaroodolf?? They couldn't get you to the EPU tomorrow? I was sent straight there when I had a really slight bleed in my first pgcy. What will you do, make DP stay home and keep your feet raised all weekend? Poor you.

Hope you're ok too Foghorn.

My 'bump' is making its presence felt today, the bikini area feels crunchy if I lean forward when sitting. Can't believe I can feel so many changes at only 5wks!

becaroodolf · 13/12/2007 17:33

I am a bit upset, really.

Thought they might do it tomorrow but the GP actually rang the EPU whilst I was there and they said that it was pointless scanning now as they wouldnt be able to see a heartbeat as I am only 6 weeks today.

Told me to rest, but I have got so much stuff to do...house is a tip, its my ds school concert tomorrow & he has been invited to a party at the weekend too.

Not looking forward to 5 days of worrying....

StarlightStarbrightSKYTVtonite · 13/12/2007 17:37

Hello all, just popping in to say hi.

Just did a positive test yesterday and think I may be due 8 August.

Only problem is DS is only 7 months old - also have 2 DDs 11 and 7 and I am 40 on Monday.

Will try and keep up with your thread and fingers crossed for all, sorry to hear about your bleed beccarudolf, don't suppose there is any point in telling you not to worry - 5 days is a long time.

lewisham · 13/12/2007 17:53

Congratulations ssst. wow exciting to be on no 4. I am one of 5 and it is lovely.
Thinking of having an early scan as still no signs of ms etc despite having ms last week. do you think it is better to wait another week when i will be prob 7weeks??

TwilightSurfer · 13/12/2007 18:24

Lewisham I'd wait so you can see the good stuff. For me it was disappointing to be scanned yesterday and not see what I really wanted to see. I'm even considering delaying my visit next Monday for that reason. MS comes and goes and it's always part of a pregnancy so I wouldn't worry.

Congrats Starlight!!!

Becaroodolf bleeding in earlier pregnancy happens for LOTS of reasons so don't jump to the worst conclusion just yet. As long as there's no cramping or pain, you're probably safe to wait for the scan. The doc just wants to be sure he can see the heartbeat which will allow him to give you a better feeling...which is what you really want. If you have cramps, pains, and begin to pass clots (way different from just bleeding) then you should seek further help and PUSH for the early scan. Keep in mind, your body at this very moment is producing a whole lot of fluid most of which is in the form of extra blood so bleeding now may seem excessive when compared to any other time..even AF times..but it really isn't. Just relax and know it's not strange to bleed. Positive energy has tremendous power!!

TwilightSurfer · 13/12/2007 18:25

oops should have read MS is not always part of every pregnancy. Sorry DD interrupted me mid-type.

TwilightSurfer · 13/12/2007 18:28

PB I feel the same odd way when sitting too and I'm only 4+5 today.

lewisham · 13/12/2007 18:31

thanks twilight i will try and relax and wait until next thurs hope all goes well for you both on mon.

ChaCha · 13/12/2007 18:45

5 days seems like forever but hang on in there, DS's busy schedule will keep you from thinking about it too much. Do rest as much as possible and lots of positive vibes ((((++++))))

Ilana - Thanks, will get in touch when i can sit down and think properly i.e when all in bed Cheers

warthog · 13/12/2007 19:20

hello ladies!

may i join? i'm due on 17th aug, have one dd and am seriously wondering whether i've gone mad.

my dd has just started having the most awful tantrums. i find myself clockwatching the afternoons away

when do you reckon i should pop along to the gp's?

CaptainCaveman · 13/12/2007 20:26

lots of prayer coming your way becaroodolf. Wise words indeed from TS. Must be terribly worrying for you, praying all is well for your scan next week.

Welcome and congrats warthog! How old is your dd?

touch wood, nausea not too bad today, coming and going in waves. Super sensitive nips though! Just like I had with ds. Didn't help having a bath with ds this evening and he's trying to squeeze them, little monkey
