Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

VG those are nice bags.....too nice.

gigglegirl · 11/12/2007 20:07

Hello, well not been around for last few days - have had my FIL here. I'm still best friends with Armitage Shanks and several of my friends have guessed! I've lost quite a bit of weight but my trousers still feel tight??? 5 weeks today I think - seems so early to feel this terrible! Handbags are lovely but can't justify them as have already bought boots and trainers this week! Just waiting for delivery - mind you current trainers have lasted a year wearing them most days and have had my boots for 5 years!! Anyone tried the Chinese Gender Predictor? I think it says I'm having a girl although it also says I am Chinese age 33 and I'm not even 32 til Jan!!!! I assume our time zone is 0 - just a bit of fun really! www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/pred.html

Can't remember who asked but am trained breastfeeding counsellor with La Leche but have moved since and no group here so just helping out friends and family now.

CaptainCaveman · 11/12/2007 20:52

Hi gg, yes I tried one of the chinese gender predictors - says I'm having another boy. Have to wait and see eh!?

Feeling a bit ropey this evening - tired and intermittent nausea. All in a good cause though so not complaining (yet)

Still feels surreal - I have to keep reminding myself I'm pg! Think I can feel my norks growing! Isn't that weird?

Despite being a nurse, I'm still astounded by how a sperm and an egg can form a perfectly developed fetus in about 10 weeks. Makes my mind boggle. No wonder we're knackered with all that going on!

CaptainCaveman · 11/12/2007 20:53

lol gg, I thought there was a mner called Armitage Shanks til I re-read your post.

TwilightSurfer · 11/12/2007 21:26

Gigglegirl the site you listed didn't work for my exisiting DD but I used another and it came out perfect...same type charting method. This time it says I'm having a boy. Actually both charts said I was having a boy. I guess I'm having a boy!!

Here's the other site: chinese gender chart

TwilightSurfer · 11/12/2007 21:29

GEEZ I don't even know my own age. My chart says I'm having a girl. My brain is fried!!

MagicMonkey · 11/12/2007 22:09

Right for my first so hoping right for my next too - says I am having a girl....

ChaCha · 11/12/2007 22:15

Evening all,

Same symptoms here, just keep waiting for the non-stop m/s I had with the others but nothing yet Tiredness, headaches, cramps like most of you too. Tired DC out today, gave them a long bath and by 2.30pm they were both in my bed with some warm milk - I got almost 2 whole hours sleep with them after a very busy morning - hurray!! Both now asleep on sofa - gave up putting DS1 to bed when i realised i'd been singing same verse of song for way too long!

Had to LOL at post about strapping DS in pram all the time because of lying down in street - ha ha! Always seems to happen to me as we get to a really busy road where all cars are sat in traffic - all eyes on us! Know the feeling, DS2 is almost walking and they both get fed up after being in pram too long.

Everynight i tell myself that i'll catch up on all that needs to be done when kids are asleep, somehow that never seems to happen...yawn..yawn...my house is a bombsite no joke.

ChaCha 5+2

CaptainCaveman · 12/12/2007 07:04

Hee hee, according to the other chart I'm having a girl! (It was right for predicting ds).
all good fun.

Felt queasy every time I woke up last night. Must have jinxed myself after posting yesterday afternoon that I didn't feel nauseaous!

have a great day ladies, see you later x

TwilightSurfer · 12/12/2007 12:06

Crazy ass dreams for me all night...during the hours I was able to sleep, that is. Got a bit too hot in the shower and suddenly found I couldn't stop gagging, MS full force but nothing to upchuck. Have first ultrasound today so I'll log in later and share the findings.

Wishing everyone a relaxing day.

LadyOfWassail · 12/12/2007 12:15

Hello everyone I just got a BFP last night, but my LMP was 30th September (making me due in July and 10 weeks gone (!)) so I think I may have missed a period so I am adding a month at the mo. onto due date, which makes me due August sometime I'll go quickly scan through the thread - I have a 20 month old DS

LadyOfWassail · 12/12/2007 12:22

Wow, just had a very quick scroll and there is alot of us

JoanWilder · 12/12/2007 12:47

JoanWilder · 12/12/2007 12:48

sarahnh · 12/12/2007 12:56

oh joan, poor poor you, sounds like you are having a horrible time.. are you feeling any less sick now?? At least you know your bubba is ok and doing well xxxx

becaroodolf · 12/12/2007 14:49

Anyone have any experience of high risk pregnancies?

My ds had undiagnosed IUGR and therefore I will probably be classed as a high risk pregnancy - I am also 35.

The worries and "what ifs" are starting now....oh dear...I am only 6 weeks! Long way to go!

lewisham · 12/12/2007 14:51

hello all I am just starting to get the hang of this site everyone seems so friendly and supportive. I am apparently 7 weeks pregnant due early /mid Aug 2007. It is my first baby. Having had a bit of nausea and off some food but in the last 2 days no signs at all so am bit concerned. Has everyone decided where they are having baby etc not quite sure what to do next have seen my gp and having early scan end of next week. fingers toes crossed.

ChaCha · 12/12/2007 14:57

Congratulations to LoW and Lewisham

Joan - Aghh..sound like you've been having a rough time of it but so glad to hear you had a scan and baby is fine

What is IUGR Becaroo? Sorry, honestly don't know.

Only just home so off to have a late lunch. Hope everyone is well.

becaroodolf · 12/12/2007 16:59

IUGR - Intrauterine growth restriction.

Basically my placenta stopped working about week 30-32 but it wasnt detected.

Was wondering if anyone had (or knew anyone) who had experience of this who had a healthy baby second time round?

Got my first midwife appointment on 2nd January so will see what she says....according to a book I have read I WILL AUTOMOATICALLY BY OFFERED AN AMNIO (oops, caps lock on!!) bcause of my age (35)

Anyone else had one?

becaroodolf · 12/12/2007 17:00

Joan, god that sounds awful.

If it is ANY comfort someone told me the sicker you are the healthier the baby (not much comfort with your head stuck down the loo I imagine!!)

Is there nothing else they can do for you??

gigglegirl · 12/12/2007 20:01

ho ladies,

well i'm having a day of it - couldn't keep making excuses for my sickness and told my mum and dad today and my little girl overheard and has asked if it can be her news at school tommorrow!! I underplayed it in the hope that she won't remember!

Anyway went to the dr.s and she has given me some tablets to stop me being sick but told me not to take them unless I have to. So I have looked them up online and it says not to take if you have epilepsy (which I have!) and the following .... The safety of this medicine during pregnancy has not been established. It should not be used in pregnancy unless considered essential by your doctor.

So now I don't know what to do! Should I take them or not??

All the charts I have looked at seem to say a girl - keeping my fingers crossed as it would be nice for DD1 to have a sister - have never found out the gender with my other three but think I will this time. All seems like a long way off though....

DutchIndo · 12/12/2007 20:43

to Joanwilder so sad your so sick. I have nausea but not throwing up. At this point I think maybe i'd feel better if I did. Everything I smell makes me wanna throw up or pass out but I don't. Good to read that you got to see your babies heartbeat. So cool huh!!
to Twighlightsurfer I think an ultrasound before 5.5 weeks you will only see a sac and a shape. Anywhere between 6 & 7 weeks you should see a heartbeat. I see my OB on Monday the 17th and I will be 7.3 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Did you see your previous babies heartbeat before you had the MC at 10 weeks?
I start get nauseous at noon everyday. I hate it but they say it's a good sign.
to Giggliegir I have three kids already and all of the chinese predictions have been correct in the genders. Well, one site was wrong but two others were right.
Does anyone have the option for a test called the First Trimester Screening? It is a highly sensitive ultrasound you take at 11 to 12 weeks and it is very accurate at looking for genetic defects like Down Syn. etc. I'm 34 and will be 35 by the time of birth and am very nervous about Genetic defects.

CaptainCaveman · 12/12/2007 20:46

Joan that sounds awful you poor lady!

Becaroodolf - I'm 34 and will be 35 in Feb so guess I will be classed as an 'older mum' (they wouldn't say that if they saw me pre-pregnancy on a night out!!)

TS - hope all went well with your scan.

Congratulations and welcome to lewisham and LoW

I'm off to wrap a tonne of prezzies!

note to self - stop eating all the pies....

TwilightSurfer · 12/12/2007 22:20

Well my scan didn't show anything (which is exactly what I thought) but the doctor felt good about that because now we KNOW we are startting from scratch...there's not another baby we didn't know about from my last pregnancy (MC 09Nov). He has also decided my dates and counts are probably dead on as at 4weeks4days today (17DPO) there'd be little to see. We did see what "might" be the tiny tiny sac but we weren't for sure. It was really cool to have the doctor do the scan himself; I've never had that before. So my new doc is turning out to be very hands on. An odd note from my visit was that my new nurse who has a 17 month old son went through the EXACT experience I'm going through right now...almost to the DAY. She was pregnant in Oct then MC in Nov then was pregnant again in Dec. Now how often does that happen...talk about TWILIGHT ZONE. They also took more bloods today but I won't have the results for 48 hours. So far the results of my first bloods done 06NOV at CD26/11DPO show my HCG at 41 and my progesterone at 18.7. Those are really good numbers!! The hope is the numbers from today's bloods will show an increase. I'm pretty sure they will because my internal heating system is on high and I've finally started having morning sickness. A little history note here...I've never tested so early and gotten a positive and I've never had morning sickness so soon. To me that means I'm either carrying a really healthy baby OR twins . I get to go back on Monday (in 5 days) and do it all over again.

DutchIndo yes just 10 days before my mc(at 8W3D) I witnessed the baby alive and kicking, with a heartbeat of 155 beats per minute. Unfortunately this fact now doesn't allow me to put all my faith in the "if you see the heartbeat you're probably in the clear" theory. But at the time the baby measured small, 7W4D, which should have been a red flag. So as long as this baby measures properly at the time I see the heartbeat then I'll probably be okay. But that won't be for AT LEAST three more weeks.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 13/12/2007 11:27

Gigglegirl, how often are you being sick? I could just about handle 3 times a day the first time (no toddlers around) and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Keep eating sweets and buy some decent sugary drink like squash (not with sweetners) or 7up.
