Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Now you mention it Chacha, I have been having bad headache but not linked the 2.
I am on pregnancy #3 and don't feel anymore rounded - I didn't start showing with DD's unitl about 20ish weeks and then I turned into this great big round ball

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/12/2007 17:20

Hi Chacha
I'm on my 3rd but don't feel big yet.
I might have an elective too, not sure. Think I'm mentally ready for a VBAC but scared of being overdue and induced and having a monster (never been past 38wks!) so I will probably ask them to book a CSection on my due date (13th I think). That way I have a reasonable chance of spontaneous labour but if I panic once it starts, they will know I already have 'premission' for a section iyswim.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/12/2007 17:23

Forgot to say, I bumped into a friend yesterday and I immediately thought, I wonder if she's pregnant. Her face was totally round and her bum seemed to have doubled in size in the 3wks since I'd last seen her. Turns out she's 9wks gone!
It's funny how people's faces can change with pregnancy isn't it? I remember Cordelia in Angel in one of the last series - went from bogstandard Hollywood to roundy face and prizewinning norks.

Shazza2002 · 10/12/2007 17:32

I have been having some bad headaches too. I just try to drink more water and find it eases them a bit. They do seem more painful than headaches I use to get pre pregnancy.

I am also trying to think of an excuse not to drink. I have christmas lunch/evening Wednesday and I'm usually the 1st to polish off a bottle of wine or 2 so will be really noticable. I've always said I would like another child so I just hope that my collegues if they notice, are polite enough not to say anything

Shazza2002 · 10/12/2007 17:35

pointsettia Really worried about bum doubling in size, when only 9 weeks pregnant

becaroodolf · 10/12/2007 18:04

Foghorn, are you having any shoulder pain?

TwilightSurfer · 10/12/2007 18:21

Technically this is my 3rd pregnancy, although #2 ended in MC at 10 weeks...just four weeks ago. I do feel rounder already. With pregnancy #2 it felt like I ballooned almost immediately. Friends were kind and disagreed but I felt huge. Now with #3 at 4+3or4, my belly feels ever so slightly round and hardish. Not really hardish to the touch just like I've got something hard stuck to my belly.

Headaches here too. Water's worked the best so far at easing them. I'm prone to dehydration anyway. There's something about being pregnant that makes the dehydration worse.

The "no-booze" excuse: "I'm on an antibotic for a chest cold (or insert another condition) that upsets my stomach and wine (or insert another drink) only seems to make it worse. I'll pass for now. Thanks."

Out of breath anyone? I had this with ds too. Now I should know this but I think it's something to do with all the extra red blood cells we're producing (or the bean is producing), and they of course need oxygen. Hmmm. Off to google this.....

AngelGabrielhidinginaCaveman · 10/12/2007 20:52

hee hee, here's one symptom you don't want to get....

"You may also experience pica, an appetite for non-food items like ice, dirt, clay, or paper. Pica has been linked to iron deficiency. While these cravings can be normal, it?s not a good idea to eat dirt, clay, or paper. Talk to your health care provider. He or she will check your blood count and perhaps prescribe an iron supplement." Seriously though - has anyone ever had that?

CaptainCaveman · 10/12/2007 21:06

Have changed my name back so now when you click on my profile you can view it - you couldn't when I had my AngelGabriel name....

I am out of breath too - noticed it a few weeks ago (which was week 4!). Funny that that isn't mentioned in all the lists of things that are meant to happen to you round this time. Only six weeks now, but my tummy is bigger (although could also be digestive, ho hum) - I had to surreptitiously undo my jeans at work today.

VintageGardenia · 10/12/2007 22:42

Hi everyone - just logging on quickly to say hello - been so busy at work not really had time even to lurk let alone post - not even time to think about what's going on inside with the budding Gardenia. However will book doc appt next week - hope you are all feeling well, funny to read about people's symptoms. I have none really except huge hunger and thirst, but that's fairly standard for me - oh and longing for bed all the time - again nothing out of the ordinary chez moi?

The list is really growing longer! Welcome to all the additions xxx

TwilightSurfer · 10/12/2007 23:58

Evening all. Had a wonderful day. Appetite is over the top and I'm enjoying keeping it satisfied.

Posted on another thread this question and thought I'd get more answers posting it here too. I'm scheduled to have an ultrasound on Wednesday. By all calculations that would only be 17DPO/CD32. What would the doctor be able to see at that point?? Anything??? I guess the doctor is just taking extra precautions because I miscarried just four weeks ago but I don't want to waste a good scan on nothing. Seems possibly a waste. What is your take?

sarahnh · 11/12/2007 10:10

morning everyone, i've been quite quiet ( well for me) the last few days just letting the good news sink and still taking pg tests every day as i cannot truly believe it!!

How is my old pal shazza?? xx

I am going to see midwife next tuesday so hopefully she will be able to tell me how far along i am.. because i got a bfp on cd24 i am panicing as to how far along i am!!

I have been having lots of cramps like af pains for days but i am hoping its normal?? i cannot remember from the last time?? Any one else suffering with these???

TW i have never had a scan that earlier hon, so cannot help on that one xxx

PoinsettiaBouquets · 11/12/2007 10:14

TwS, I assume it would be an internal scan at this stage. Not the most dignified way to meet your little darling but always nice to know it's still there.

I'm off shopping with my mum today, pooing myself that she'll guess or I'll suddenly start puking! Our plan is to tell grandparents and kids on Xmas day but who knows what'll happen before then.

TwilightSurfer · 11/12/2007 10:23

PB worried about the bean spilling too. I've told three RL girlfriends (because I need the support) but we've not said a word to ANYONE else. My dad and my IL's are out of state at the moment so our only contact is via phone. WHICH IS NICE because I can't keep a secret. BUT everybody will be here at somepoint within the next two weeks. I'm almost considering faking a tummy virus. . Again I'll say I'm a terrible liar.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 11/12/2007 12:28

Oh we've told loads of friends but hopefully it shouldn't get back to family or say anything in front of DD.
Shopping went fine, my mum even spontaneously offered to pay for mine, which made me feel guilty, natch. Didn't seem to notice me popping my dried apricots at regular intervals or shovelling up freebies at the deli!
Have decided I'll have to stop food shopping with DS(2) though as I can't keep lifting him into the trolley. He's way too big anyway but with his Asperger's traits, it's like taking a giant red setter puppy round a supermarket so I have to strap him down. Poor little guy's going to be stuck in his pushchair for the next 9m as I can no longer wrestle and carry him when he goes on strike in the street.

Shazza2002 · 11/12/2007 13:26

Afternoon all

I'm feeling fine. Still having cramps, they are quite bad but am told are perfectly normal, nausea comes and goes. Tiredness is just a joke really, I keep looking at my stomach thinking, there's nothing there, how can you be causing all this

Hi sarah I have one test left, plan to do at the weekend, are we mad or what

mummypud · 11/12/2007 13:40

well my syptoms at just past 5 weeks are as followed, cramps , mild nausea, achey back, a head ache yesterday and i feel huge! already i want to ditch my clothes when i havent grown at all yet!x

CaptainCaveman · 11/12/2007 15:04

Having odd twinges but guess this is bits stretching, and I had this with ds too.

Fingers crossed no nausea yet [fingers crossed emoticon]

Hoping to tell parents and ds on christmas day too!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 11/12/2007 15:52

Tell you what though, we're pg at a good time since this summer everyone was wearing maternity tops basically (see Cod's various rants on Style.) Should still be plenty of cheapie ones about next summer.
Had a few gagging moments today but still no vomit hurray.

Shazza2002 · 11/12/2007 15:57

I've been thinking the same thing about clothes, it would have been so great to be like due Aug 07 cause of the trends. Let's hope they stick around for another season!!

becaroodolf · 11/12/2007 16:21

I would love to tell family at xmas but my dh is being really weird about it....doenst want to tell anybody til after the 12 week scan....not sure I can last that long...feel I might need some support before then!

Not looking forward to telling work...only started work on 24th october after 5 years off with ds!!!! They will be furious!!!

VintageGardenia · 11/12/2007 16:32

Good luck to all of you planning on breaking news on Christmas Day. Too early for me I think but I'll be thinking of all the paper hats getting squashed in the congratulation hugs!

Look at these gorgeous baby bags alexandrabee.live.i-ntarsia.com/english/Productsbags/bags.htm, I know they are outrageously expensive but I have been a very good girl this year!
